You guys do realize the more you panic the more the price will go down right? Posting your panic makes others panic and more and more people sell off making the price go even lower...

I haven't tried to mess with the memory clock much I have tried it at the stock 1000 MHz and 810 MHz.
Definitely drop the memory to 300 mhz. 300-350 mhz is standard practice for bitcoin mining. Also what program are you using to overclock?

$3.50 is my break even point at $0.091 kw/h. i think anything below $5 for a sustained period and i might shut it down, unless difficulty also keeps creeping back down as well.
since my mining hardware is paid for, i've just been sitting on my BTC.
I'm pretty sure 90% of miners would be losing money to electricity at anything lower then $5. If that happened I'd expect a mass difficulty decrease.

How many do you need? i've been attacheding my boards to plywood and have some extra cases i could cut out and ship you the trays?
How much would you want for it? I'd need one for sure but I might be expanding soon so if the price is right I might get two.

You can buy trays but from what i've seen it's cheaper to order and hack up a case from newegg, Also CL is a good place to get a few empty cases on the cheap/free
Yea I was about to say its cheaper to just go with newegg. I used craigslist in the past to get a free case but those are few and far between.

I'm looking for just a motherboard mounting panel is there anywhere I can buy one? Or do I need to buy a case / find a free case somewhere?

Still for sale..
If you part it out you would probably have much more success. Just saying because I know this threads been around for ages.

Pushing that to the side I've always been curious what card do you tend to use the most or is it a mix? I know you have a huge megahash or should I say gigahash but I have never heard what you use. Also did you take your original roi out so at the very least it didn't cost you anything?

if he does not overclock.. yeah its 158. but a waste
I run 5 5850's which require about the same power. I overclock these cards fairly high and it only requires 1000 watts. If he gets a decent psu there will be no problem fitting four on a 1000 watt.

Added the option of paying 3 btc for this item.

I'm just curious how many people are at the point where their miners have mined enough to get a free rig. For those miners did you go for reliability (buying from newegg) or go for cheap (buying used). The reason I ask is because I'm almost to the point where I can created a free rig and I'm curious what other people's strategies have been. In all honesty I'm thinking of just going for newegg so I have a warranty and buying 6950's that are reference card and the shaders can be unlocked. I realize this goes against conventional wisdom of 6950's are inefficient but I'd prefer it to used 5870's.
So what have you guys done?

950/475. Then this weird black screen freeze happened and nothing but a cold reboot fixed this. I know i should have reacted the first time, but it happened around 15-20 times like that, afterwards i tested the card at stock speeds, and i immediately got artefacts and the same freeze. Didn't mine on it for a while, afterwards when i started it i left it run at lower aggressions and so far i didn't get any problems with it. Tho my 5870 also did experience this, so i am running lower aggr there too, and much lower clocks
Try lowering your mem clock to around 300. I've heard anything around 500 messes with the timings. If you say you cant go lower then 475 I had this problem too and it was fixed with trixx and a reinstall of my drivers. Also what temp is the card running at and how long have you run it that way?

Nice... no limit on rebates too.
"Purchase between 09/01/11 ~ 09/15/2011 from Newegg.com and Newegg.ca. One rebate per household."

Right, which is about 2.17 Mhash/$. That's better than any card available through retail. I think it'd be a real good deal for someone looking for a decent gaming/mining card. I agree its probably good for a part time miner part time gamer but you cant build rigs out of this card. Rebates only good for one card. Then its 150 each so you need at least 6 of these in one machine to get a half way decent megahash per server cost ratio. I haven't done the math but I'd expect it to be some where around 1.3 while the best machines (with brand new parts) are about 1.5

Oh sorry, i thought that was core speed...For how long was it stable tho, and any...artefacts or unusual behavior after the stunt? My 5850 ran overclocked for two weeks(24/7 mining) and started having artefacts, so your 5870 shouldn't be different.
What speed and overclock was your 5850 running at?

For future reference pci to pcie is not cost effective. At the prices your paying for the converter your better off with a better mobo.
That totally depends on the price of the converter, doesn't it? The thing looks simple enought on the picture on cablesaurus.com . Their prices are also 2-3X the lowest available price available on eBay for the PCIe extenders. I haven't seen that type of adapter before though. If it could be had for $15, it would be quite worth it. EDIT: I found the adapter for $25 directly from China. I think I'll get one and try it out. The problem is since the card is lifted it wont fit properly into a case. It wont align with the back so hot air can get out. You are going to need an extender cable as well so plan for an extra 12 dollars. Thats 40 bucks and I guarentee for 40 dollars + cost of the mobo this guy has you can pick up one with 6+ pcie.
