101  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [DIY] - Reward $100 | Antminer S1/S3 Blade on Raspberry Pi on: August 16, 2015, 06:52:15 PM
OK, will keep my eyes peeled for your thread ... be sure to post here though just in case.
102  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [DIY] - Reward $100 | Antminer S1/S3 Blade on Raspberry Pi on: August 16, 2015, 06:36:28 PM
Problem was (is) in that blade. The other one works just fine.
That's the way to go ..... ! Have you refined your latest "interface" contraption with the S1 controller to your satisfaction and care to detail? Saying that, it may do with it's own thread .....

Well done you, very well done indeed!
103  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [DIY] - Reward $100 | Antminer S1/S3 Blade on Raspberry Pi on: August 16, 2015, 05:33:12 PM
Dead chips ..... do a power cycle, as in unplug from the mains then plug back in (even, let it run for a while and they should resurect!)
Didn't help  Sad. I will try later with another plate which is known good.
By the way,I added KIA278R33PI regulator and feed it from hash board 12V. So I don't need 3V3 from cp2102 adapter anymore (and I don't think it could power 2 blades and controller).KIA reg is rated 2A so there's plenty of power.

Hmm ... possibly, as you say, has to do with board condition if the dead chips do not come back to life after running for a while (seeing a power cycle didn't help).
Just wondering why you'd need the regulator though ... can you not power up the S1 controller from the powered board itself (or does it not have a 3.3v line and just 5v and 12v lines)?

Mission completed! S3 blade hashing with S1 ctrl board.Still S1 software so some left to do.

Now I will flash S3 firmware. Wish me luck.

Thats the hard work done then .... just the details left.
Flashing S3 firmware is the easy part ..... I am also sure you can get away with simply replacing cgminer with one for the S3 (and its conf files!).

Before I forget, GOOD LUCK!
106  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [DIY] - Reward $100 | Antminer S1/S3 Blade on Raspberry Pi on: August 16, 2015, 01:44:15 PM
I figured out the rest of the pins.So here is complete list of S3 blade/controller pins:

 .....

With this information it should be able to use S1 controller board for S3 blades.Ofcourse right voltages given to controller and levelshifting tx and rx lines.I'm going to try anyway.

YOU are the man .... keep us posted.

AntMiner S5+ Batch 1

SOLD OUT

That was either fast or a great marketing strategy.

Or they only had 20 in stock.
108  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S5+ is available to order, 7.722TH/S 0.445J/GH on: August 14, 2015, 03:59:26 PM
I'm tempted to buy one of these S5+ miners, but my lack of faith in Bitmain firmware is preventing me from doing so. I think I'll wait for the first batch to arrive with guinea pigs customers & see what the feedback is before making up my mind. Hopefully they have finally managed to find someone who knows how to write their firmware properly using the mainline cgminer instead of their terrible fork using crazy settings.

Fair enough as to waiting on the guinea pigs to report back on how these monsters behave in the wild ... though I'd take the notion that bitmain write terrible firmware for their rigs with a pinch of salt (last I checked the so called best ever cgminer never neither increased my earnings nor reduced my electric costs over the bitmain fork ... ever!). I'm just frustrated there is no alternative mining software for their rigs readily available .... and the noise from this beast of-course.

But unless you're on free electric, or something totally insane like 1-2 cents/KWH, .9GH/watt is losing money making those S1s a liability. Well, no longer an asset anyway.

Unless of-course you are solo-mining .... (and hit a block). And again, S1's can be undervolted to more "asset-able" levels too.
110  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: OFFICIAL CGMINER mining software thread for linux/win/osx/mips/arm/r-pi 4.9.2 on: August 12, 2015, 06:43:02 PM
Post to the S5 thread or to a thread that supports that cgminer fork.  It's been posted several times (and is in capital letters in the thread topic) that this thread is for the OFFICIAL release of cgminer.

Stop creating noise by pretending to be the responsible user of this forum, when in actual fact you are just signature-ad spamming. If you are un-happy about a post, just report it to the moderator rather than spam us with your nonsensical posts (you've also just done that in the S3 thread!).
111  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: World biggest bitcoin /SHA256 miner 7.7T@3400W on: August 11, 2015, 08:57:43 PM
This is one goofy contraption.  why the obsession with PCI connectors?  Is that really the best solution for industrial scale mining?

I prefer it greatly over a proprietary power supply. High end efficient used +12V server power supplies will beat new every time, not only in price but performance as well.

Buy yourself an automatic wire cutter/stripper machine, some 5000ft spools of 16awg primary wire, reels of crimping pins and bags of end connectors. And you will never have to buy a PCI-E cable again, and you can make them just the length you need.

Nope, 6 pin PCI-E connectors have certainly run their usefulness, both economically and practically. They should have reverted to the trusty old screw terminals that were sported on the S1.
112  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: World biggest bitcoin /SHA256 miner 7.7T@3400W on: August 11, 2015, 08:05:13 PM

I guess we will have to wait for S7 cause there is no other company that will deliver before.

I know lketc is looking to release on august 20 but until I see the miner we cant be sure.

If it is true that lktec is releasing their new rig on or about August 20th, then you can bet top dollar the S:Next-One from bitmain will be on the scene sooner than you can bat an eyelid! Keep your eyes peeled.
113  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: pictures of antminer S5+ ,7700G, review coming soon on: August 11, 2015, 03:07:16 PM

Also IMO they wasted the 3'd PCI-E connector on each board, even 2 per board would have given plenty of overhead for significant overclock (with the lower voltage per chip these aren't going to overclock as high on average as an S5 anyway).

I suppose their thinking for a 3rd PCI-E connector is when / if you used (cheap) PSU's with say 18AWG cables, you'd be able to make it up with the third.
114  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S5: 1155GH(+OverClock Potential), In Stock $0.319/GH & 0.51W/GH on: August 11, 2015, 01:28:21 PM
Does anyone have an idea how to solve this?

The S5 miner is starting as normal, all Asics are being detected and it has connection to the pool (also tried other pools).
It is powered by an Corsair CX750 PSU (as it has been earlier), but it does not really start hashing.
Could be one of many reasons and there could as well be many ways to resolve.
1. Completely power off the unit, pulling the plug(s) from the wall and leave idle for a few minutes then power up again.
2. If you are powering your unit using 2 PSU's make sure you switch on the PSU powering the board to which the controller is connected first (even better switch both on at the same time).
3. Your PSU may have let go, try powering up using another PSU (if you have one), or switching the PCI-E plugs about. Observe the HW errors ......
115  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: World biggest bitcoin /SHA256 miner 7.7T@3400W on: August 11, 2015, 08:14:18 AM
Wow, very efficient miner indeed Smiley

Can you prove your website is legitimate, your account is new.

Read the thread in its entirity ... the man has been made to jump through a thousand hoops already!

But 28 6pin PCI-E connectors for a single rig is mind boggling to say the least. Is the 6 pin PCI-E connector the highest rated power plug that exists?
116  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [9000 TH] Slush's Pool (mining.bitcoin.cz); TX FEES + VarDiff on: August 10, 2015, 08:20:12 PM
NMC blocks showing perfect.  Don't know what guy's are on at. Maybe mandrax.  Lol.
We've been infiltrated by .... I don't know! Anyway, the luck has eased, or should I say the horse has bolted.
117  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [9000 TH] Slush's Pool (mining.bitcoin.cz); TX FEES + VarDiff on: August 10, 2015, 03:28:36 PM
Pool is on FIRE today.
Tell me about it! Four network blocks in a row ..... though the first of the day has turned out to be invalid. Crickey!

PS. For those looking for the merged mining blocks, if you are logged into the "new" website, click on the rewards tab then click back to the dashboard and you'll see the blue vertical lines of the NMC blocks flound (they dis-appear when stats refresh though). You'll also see the satoshi's trickling into your confirmed BTC balance ....

dude my English speaking and writing    great. my English all understand native  speakers in all countries. your services do not need
Can you please retain the services of someone that can rephrase that in better English, so us native speakers in all countries can understand ?

This is a forum of linguists?

More trolls than linguists, I'll tell you that for nought!

When the cat is nothing to do, he plays his balls

For some reason I think you meant a dog there, but never mind, we get the picture (for the linguists, procrastinating dogs is the picture).

So how do the SF100's perforrm on the SHA side off the wall compared to the specs?

those are S3++ for second hand unit/. no luck at all. direct from china mainland bitmain.

I thought I was seeing things! Thanks for clearing that up .... How much did you pay for the S3++ from bitmain then (if you do not mind)?
To clean that up, get some surgical spirit (Methyl Salicylate) and a fine bristle paint brush ... and it'll be as good as new! I use that spirit because its very cheap from a pharmacy and works a treat even for removing thermal paste, but if you know of better and cheaper ....
