Pool is on FIRE today.
Tell me about it! Four network blocks in a row ..... though the first of the day has turned out to be invalid. Crickey!

PS. For those looking for the merged mining blocks, if you are logged into the "new" website, click on the rewards tab then click back to the dashboard and you'll see the blue vertical lines of the NMC blocks flound (they dis-appear when stats refresh though). You'll also see the satoshi's trickling into your confirmed BTC balance ....

It is a common myth that Bitcoin is ruled by a majority of miners. This is not true. Bitcoin miners "vote" on the ordering of transactions, but that's all they do. They can't vote to change the network rules.

There's a test stratum URL for merge mining. I've had my miners pointed at it for weeks with no issue.

But there's been no news either. Hopefully merge mining will be out of beta soon.

So, just looking at the graph's bug...

Messages have the `blocks_nmc` field as the initial response, but it seems your updating function isn't the same you use as when the page is first rendered, or there's a value missing.

Too bad everything is obfuscated Sad

Thanks. I saw this yesterday.

I've pointed my miners back at the non-test URL.

You are getting old. You need glasses. Sorry about that. Nine out of the last 100 Namecoin blocks (243407 to 243507) show an auxPoW coinbase string containing "/slush/": 243408, 243412, 243416, 243434, 243458, 243491, 243495, 243498, and 243506.

Namecoin blocks can be seen either under rewards or block history.  There is a toggle to turn them on.  You can also see them on the dashboard as blue lines but this seems to be buggy at the moment.

Pretty sure so far you can't take namecoin payout, but it is converted to bitcoin.

Thanks!

So if I use stratum.bitcoin.cz:3333 I'm mining NMC and get BTC without me setting anything... Right?

EDIT: I have just switched to Slush since I seen they mined XT block. Why did they switched back to core? Do I need to move back to p2pool...

I guess they have multiple servers and it takes time to upgrade

Congratulations to Slush's history making move!

very glad to be mining on Slush right now,
it's a brave move mods are moving all XT related talk to the altcoin section and if you complain they are locking the treads slush mining bitcoin with XT is a risky move but one that has my support.

XT is classified an alt-coin by the forum - so is it XT or not? Smiley

not sure i understand your question, Bitcoin XT is as much bitcoin as anything, even if it becomes software of choice for the majority of nodes with the longest chain its still bitcoin not an altcoin.

its ignorance of the moderators to make such a distinction.

just out of interest what will your pool be running with regards to the bigger block debate?

Nor sure what you are asking...

I would say this is XT block

https://blockchain.info/block-index/955048/00000000000000000174419fa2ba5003e123dbd97c6982aff1863f016b04789d

But blocks that follow to this moment are not

https://blockchain.info/blocks/Slush

And do you care what someone who controls reddit and this forum says? I sure don't... But if that is your opinion then I'm it is OK with that...

It's not about us passing judgement about what we believe - that's not under question here. The issue is this is a private run forum where the admin has set rules regarding XT that affect forum administration and moderation which brings up an interesting dilemma - if the forum rules specify that XT is not bitcoin, then if a pool is mining XT then by forum definitions it's become an altcoin pool. (I don't wish to open yet another discussion regarding that decision on this thread, there are millions of them already in meta/). However unless Theymos makes an issue of XT pools specifically I have no intention of applying that technicality to moderation.
