101  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: More proof that savegox.com is a sham. on: May 11, 2014, 08:26:51 AM
I am only wondering, why all the bitcoin-media is not covering the shady history of this Brock Pierce guy?
Good question. Who supports that media, e.g. Coindesk? Not small investors, I would think... Perhaps some people with large MtGOX balances?   Tongue

founder and owner of coindesk is Shakil Khan. He is invested in SecondMarket and BitPay. BitPay is a competitor to GoCoin (Brock Pierce). Although I do not think that there is real competition among the two, because Pierceīs investments seem to focus primarily on asia/china (KnC-miner, Robocoin).

I found this site: http://www.coinsumm.it/

Among the speakers are Brock Pierce, Shakil Khan and Roger Ver. A lot of other "Angel-Investors" will also speak there. So these AIs maybe belong to the same network (more or less) and do not want to hurt each other too much, because it would negatively affect the group?

One thing is interesting though: Above each speakerīs name is a photograph, but the picture of Pierce is not a photograph.

@Phinnaeus Gage

Thank you very much for the information about sunlot and Brock Pierce.

I remember the case Bruce Wagener and how mtgox (Mark Karpales) defended its affiliation with him, even when there was no doubt about his shady/criminal history.

Yet back then, bitcoiners did generally not tolerate, that a pedophile conartist promotes their beloved investment.

Today it seems to be different. A simple google search is required to reveal the shady history of Brock Pierce and yet this guy gets not only a lot of positive media attention, but also a director seat at the Bitcoin Foundation.

Someone kick these bitcoin-media-sunlot-cheerleaders please.
103  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: May 10, 2014, 03:57:41 PM
That is just spin.  They propose to give back (say) 10% of the assets and force clients to invest the other 10% into MtGOX2.0, and will count their share of whatever profit that MtGOX2.0 may make as the payment of the other 90%.  Why is that better than giving clients the full 20%, so that they can invest those same 10% into Apple stock instead?  The clients will surely recover their 90% back much faster this way.

+1

This hole sunlot/mtgox story/scam reminds me of bitmarket.eu/bitalo.

Scammers kill/hack the exchange and take it over afterwards. They present themselves to the public as heros, rescuers and philanthropists.

Of course they have the cheerleaders ready on forums like this one.

I am only wondering, why all the bitcoin-media is not covering the shady history of this Brock Pierce guy.

Have you considered throwing dice for your predictions?

Could not find my dice, had to draw lines instead.  Cheesy

I love to help you optimize your analysis capabilities: http://www.random.org/dice/

Now you can stop drawing silly lines.

Thank you very much. I will consider your kind support and maybe use the provided link, when we reach 200$/BTC.

How many millions has your TA made you so far?

Zero millions - I am not trading.  Smiley

Why not? With your amazing TA skills you could be rich in no time. What's stopping you?

Did you loose too much since the last ATH?

Target for what?

For bitcoin price.

What happens at 200?

Bitcoin price reaches support. You may consider buying then.
109  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: May 04, 2014, 12:10:30 PM
200? Because at 200 it suddenly goes up again? Not 210? Or 180? Or 350?

200 is target. Could be 210, could be 180. could not be 350.

Welcome to Idiocracy Smiley

The arrival of idiocracy regularly precedes the ascendency of the bitcoin-buell.

Your comment is therefore considered bullish for bitcoin price. Thank you very much.

PS. OKCoin's response to that client question, right below it, apparently says that they have only one broker for their recharge code system, and his minimum is "1 W" (一万 = Yi wān = one wan = 10,000); but they expect to have more brokers eventually.

Tough on the little guy.  That actually makes me think we could be close to breaking out big to the upside.  If the big players can keep the 99% out, the market is going up.

More thinking on this.  The big players want to increase their BTC holdings at current prices before the next rally.  This would normally cause prices to increase due to a large volume of buys.  So they need another way to do it.

Steps taken by big players:

1) The big players block any rallies with sell walls and negative news releases.
2) The big players in China then force the smaller players to sell BTC with the recent China manipulation, such as shutting down anyone with less than $10K.  The smaller players panic and sell out their BTC to the big players at prices much better than what they'd have achieved without this manipulation.
3) Once this process is complete, the big players are ready for the next rally.  They replace the sell walls with buy walls, and replace the negative news with positive news.
4) To the moon.

Thank you, this made me laugh for the first time today.

To resume:

1. It is bullish to keep 99% of potential buyers out.
2. Big players will buy huge amounts of bitcoins, because they know, there will be nobody who could buy from them later at higher price.

117  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is bitcoin a buy at these levels? on: April 09, 2014, 10:52:05 PM
In terms of buying at current prices in the 450s with USD through Coinbase. Thoughts?

As far as chart history could be used as an indicator, a downcross of the 1d SMA 50/200 does not imply a good buying opportunity.

Of course it could bounce back shortly to the lower $500s, but price within the next 2-3 months will most likely continue to decline.

MA crossovers are pretty crude TA... not really that useful even in a highly technical and liquid market such as forex.
...and even less applicable in the Bitcoin market.

Opposite seems to be true:

The less liquid a market, the higher volatility around MAs and COs.

MAs describe sentiment over a period of time. COs reflect a shift/reversal in sentiment.

118  Economy / Speculation / Re: A question to anyone who still doubts Bitcoin: on: April 09, 2014, 10:34:45 PM
Yep, it is 9.

If in doubt, it is 42...

...always

Your second question cannot be answered, because it involves time, which may or may not be (pre-)determined.

Even if it would be determined: I personally never met a person, that was able to predict future events.

Anyone that wants to be Rich has to buy within 1-90 days.

I would prefer to wait 90 days.
