It's no worse than the compulsive disorder of this guy who sits there passively non-stop complaining about how everyone are idiots and how every 1% drop is a panic and that the Chinese market should be disconnected even though it can be arbitraged. Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

Without compulsive disorders this thread would never have reached this size (and this isn't even the first incarnation).

+2 euphoria votes, is silkroad back?
It was down for like a week after the FBI raid, then it was down for like a week after the hack. Now they have repaid most people who lost money(unlike emptygox) and they have more listings than when FBI raided them.

How much alt coin diversification is needed? 0%?

You are quite hilarious, and to be somewhat serious, one of the problems with bitcoin seems to be that through time there are going to many bitcoin HODLers taking bitcoins with them to the afterlife, until we get some better security vehicles.  I think that if I croaked today, at least half of my bitcoin stash would become unclaimed.  Even if I suffered from some memory loss regarding my bitcoin would cause significant recovery problems.

I am definitely looking forward to better bitcoin wallets.

I use the Electrum wallet and 2 people who I can trust with my life have my seeds.  So if when I die they don't end up in a non existent place.

Yes, and your heirs will be able to avoid probate and taxes; hopefully.... till someone figures out that they got free money.  ... and yes, we all have to prepare for this kind of thing.. that is why you changed your "if" to "when"

Let's say that one day EC is suddenly revealed to be broken. Hackers have already been moving coins around and now everyone's private keys are suddenly public knowledge. Everyone's coins now belong to everyone else and there is no way to distinguish between owners. How could you possibly fix this with a patch? You'd have to release a new blockchain with the same balances and everyone having a new private key. Even if you could pull that off, how would you know who the owners were and how to contact them with their new private keys?

Bitcoin is not EC.  Bitcoin is EC + SHA-256 + RIPEMD-160. So if one day EC is suddenly revealed still only owner of private key will be able to make transaction. Everyone's coins now still belong to owner and  owner is able to move them to NEW address witch will be secured with NEW crypto alg. (EC replacement)

YES!!!!    I have been wondering how low this bear trap is going to go b/c I would prefer to buy a lil MOAR at the lowest point in this series. I was thinking that if it gets down to $420-ish in the next 24 hours... that is about as low as we can expect... absent some kind of negative news.... which negative news (or FUD) is always possible to help to drive some additional downward price pressure(s).

In sum, I am thinking maybe to buy a little bit at $420-ish... if we get there.  I welcome to hear any other theories about the extent of downard price movement, here.

If you like EW, Grin

There are some very good counts to suggest we have hit the bottom, but they are subject to testing soon.
IF we hit 420, it is all about the way we hit 420, not the price its self. If it crawls down to 420 and the RSI gives a buy signal, then it might be a good idea to buy when it turns.
problem is though, that if we enter the range of 380-400ish there is really no price history from stopping a 320 test. 320 is a no brainer buy so you'd rather have some fiat down there.
but if we can rally past 460 in style soon, I'd go full bitcoin. thats confirming quite a strong and aggressive upside count.
so maybe I'd argue not to catch a falling knife because when you can have a high confidence trade above 420. especially when a robust H&S are set in place.

I don't understand why people do this. They want to buy a few coins but only if it reaches 420. So they're gonna watch the price hoover around 430 for a day knowing it might very well go up again from there. So when the price does go up they either have no coins or panic buy at 440.
Is saving 10 dollars per coin really that important? Assuming the price goes up from that point you have profit either way. And if it doesn't reach 420 you messed up.

200? Because at 200 it suddenly goes up again? Not 210? Or 180? Or 350?
Have you considered throwing dice for your predictions?

200 is target. Could be 210, could be 180. could not be 350.
