101  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can you hide your identity with bitcoin? (100%) on: September 13, 2020, 11:46:45 PM
Why are you arguing with someone about something you don't know? That's not very logical now, is it?
Noone can find out who you are with your IP address unless they can contact your ISP and get the info there but that can only happen under a Subpoena or a hacker gains access to the ISP database and even then it's hard to prove who has what IP because IP addresses are dynamically used and cycle often. An IP address is nowhere near enough evidence to prove anything. Otherwise if it were could you imagine the havoc a criminal can cause of they hack into your WIFI outside of your house and go on a crime spree.

I was having an argument with a friend. He says that you can't be anonymous to the bitcoin's network. Both nodes and wallets use, leads to an ip address where information can be found.

I had read in this forum that you can hide it with hardware? How exactly?
No, it is the I.P address that will going to obtain and not your identity. Identity could be obtain when you do KYC and entrusted it to an exchange keeping it as what they promise. However there are.exchanges that has been hijack and some of the users holdings crypto was stolen and being transfer.

Don't get bother with your friend's argument. Just let him think that way for you had known already that being anonymous is one feature that bitcoin platform has from the start and up to this present time.

Did you not read properly? He is wrong and his friend is right.

It's very hard to keep your identity completely hidden. Probably impossible to have it exactly 100%.

There are cameras that could be used to facially recognize you. Your disposable phone, unless it has all antennas removed, will send and receive information from and to the service provider it's been registered to (and even without it, AFAIK, a phone with battery in it could still send and receive information - especially if it's a smartphone, and assuming you're using Bitcoin with it... it most likely is). Just think about it - even without a SIM card you can still call 911, right? Even if you turn your phone to Airplane Mode, do you have any guarantee that it has terminated any communication?
A complete anonymity is just a dream now a days especially if the authorities are targeting you. The speaker in your phone can be activated and if the authorities knows your IMEI number of your mobile they can activate your mobile speaker even if you turned your phone to airplane mode your communications can be captured.

When it comes to bitcoin it is impossible to stay fully anonymous if you are using exchanges because they force us to verify our identity, if you are making money online and if you are accepting it in bitcoin and not using the traditional exchanges it is possible to be anonymous.

Iv'e never heard so much shit in my life.

102  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is it possible that the 51 Percent Attack on Bitcoin could Happen? on: September 13, 2020, 11:24:08 PM
 Tongue Roll Eyes Cheesy Grin

You just open threads and say whatever comes to mind without even thinking much about it.
How can China do a 51% attack? A country is not a pool.
This is like asking someone do they know so and so because they from China too. How would you know so and so if there so many people in China? How will you even know who is mining and who is not? They not all one entity. This is why what you are saying is like me asking someone from who comes from Australia if they know "bill" It is a massive country so obviously he doesn't know "bill" but the utter cluelessness that makes someone think that they might know "bill" is exactly what you saying.

You know how many people live in China right?
103  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 3 Ways to Hack Bitcoin on: September 13, 2020, 11:16:20 PM
Let me summarize your post in 1 image:

lmfao I wish I saved my sMerit to give to you, this totally captured how I felt reading OP's '3 simple ways to hack bitcoin, crypto enthusiasts hate him!' garbage

As soon as I read "3 ways to hack bitcoin" I was like oh god.... Here we go...
I think those exchanges were hacked into not the actual wallets. They don't need the wallet private keys since they can send the crypto where ever they want to once they gain admin access.
I would not mind owning an exchange but I would be terrified about this sort of thing going on.
104  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Russia legalizing Bitcoin and cryptos but not allowed as payment method? on: September 13, 2020, 11:11:05 PM
Okay so months ago, we thought that they're all set to lay down the axe on Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies in Russia. But right now, lawmakers have passed a bill to legalize cryptocurrencies in their country.

However, there's one section of the bill states that Bitcoin cannot be used as payment method. They do legalize cryptocurrency trading though, but not sure when it comes to crowdfunding, ICOs, etc.

Source: https://cointelegraph.com/news/russian-lawmakers-finally-pass-countrys-major-crypto-bill

Any reactions so far guys?

I'm very cautious when it comes to cryptocurrency related news regarding Russia. Those news might be fake.
It this news is true,I get where they are going with not allowing crowdfunding and ICO.Most crypto crowdfunding projects and ICOs were scams,so banning such activities isn't a wrong move.
However, not allowing crypto payments for goods and services is kinda stupid.
Maybe the Russian legislators think that the non-reversible cryptocurrency transactions provide a "scammer-friendly" environment, where the customers will pay using crypto and get nothing in return.
Anyway,it would be nice,if cryptocurrencies get completely legalized in Russia.

I never take anything I read seriously unless it sounds like it makes sense and I can see it coming from different sources and people and then I like to see the counter-argument if there is one. You must look at it from all angles before you decide. They should allow crowdfunding and ICO. Is it our fault investors are too greedy and stupid to see a scam? You can only blame scammers up to a certain point. Not allowing crypto as a payment method just isn't going to work. How will they even enforce such a ridiculous law? I am very sure law enforcement has better things to do like look after the people from criminals and theft. It's not like the law hsa infinite time to just sit around. Their time is limited and wasting it on this sort of thing is counter productive. Would you rather your goverment focus on murder, theft abuse etc or they rather they messing around running after pointless crypto transactions?

"Maybe the Russian legislators think that the non-reversible cryptocurrency transactions provide a "scammer-friendly" environment"
What if it is the other way around?
105  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I can't wait until I can pay using bitcoin at the supermarket on: September 06, 2020, 03:48:44 PM
I can't wait either. It will be nice when crypto is fully supported. It will also decrease the number of scams I feel since real-world use will be prevalent by that time. However, the currencies might not be as volatile by then and making a quick profit incesting might not work as well but still hopefully by then we have all saved up plenty of the most spendable crypto.
106  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC is Going to "DEAD....!" Need Discussion..... on: September 06, 2020, 12:12:07 PM
None of what you just said makes any sense. Yes if bitcoin goes down you will pay more bitcoin for a errr.... Pizza??? Why are you bringing up pizza? Because of the 10k bitcoin pizza? What has that got to do with anything?
Bitcoin dead? Your English is very difficult and cofusing to understand maybe you should try again or edit your post so we can better understand you because bitcoin is certainly being used to buy things and is far from dead.
107  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Biggest Bitcoin giveaway scams and how can you avoid them on: September 05, 2020, 06:06:21 PM
Pretty much if you ever see someone iconic claiming to offer you some sort of way to win or invest then stay away. I have even seen scams claiming my president endorses a certain bitcoin scam. It's crazy... These guys have absolutely no shame at all. Trever Noah was also used and the scammers said he was investing. This "bitcoin revolution" scam is still going on. Magical ways to bank that will make you rich. So much crap. Even Instagram is showing these ads.

All they need to do is prove the giveaway address actually exists by signing the wallet with the BTC in. So if I give away 10btc I send the 10btc to a new wallet and I sign that new wallet for the giveaway. That is what I love about crypto. You cannot lie about this sort of thing.
108  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How Cryptocurrency rates especially BTC Fluctuate so quickly? on: September 05, 2020, 06:01:12 PM
It is pretty much about the maximum capital. Crypto is still new so a whale can change and manipulate the price alone. Fiat is so widely used it cannot be manipulated so easily. As crypto grows and is divided more and more among more people it will become harder and harder to manipulate. The more they spread the harder to manipulate. This is why new projects are often a good idea to take part in because you can become a whale with greater ease.
109  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Patience above all will be rewarded here on: September 05, 2020, 05:56:28 PM
There is frivolity beyond patience. If there is patience in all realms, something can be achieved. But nothing is credible if it is short-tempered.
So it is empirical to be rewarded only if you work with patience.

Investing in crypto means you should be investing extra money which you are fine even in worst scenario you lose. Due to volatility it can fall badly as well and so does it can bounce back as well. It would be you luck after investing suddenly market rises certain percentage quickly or vice versa as well is possible. So, in long run you will end up making money if stayed invested in right coins.

They said that patience is a virtue because the key to success is patience. Before we become successful, we will face a lot of struggles, hindrances, dissapointments and etc. so we should be patient and hard working because there is no shortcut on achieving your desired goal just like here in crypto world some of us entered here without any knowledge but because of our hardwork and patience we know a lot now about crypto currency.

Patience is good, yes but you cannot just rely on it. You cannot just sit back and think everything will be ok. You have to be consistent as well. Failures are lessons, lessons you collect and combine in order to learn from them and create an even better version of what you originally envisioned since you now ironed out some of the jinks. Failure is an excuse to become better. Failure is never an excuse to give up. As long as you never give up you will be fine I say. Smiley

111  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Chris Larsen, Chair Of Ripple, Argues China Can Reverse Bitcoin Transactions on: August 30, 2020, 08:53:40 PM
And, let me guess, he thinks that a centralized cryptocurrency, namely Ripple, would be able to combat this non-problem? Roll Eyes
This is as simple as that, whenever you read something that doesn't really make a lot of sense and you wonder what are you reading the only thing that you need to do is to think about what that person is set to gain by having such an opinion.

And in this case this is very obvious, the chairman of ripple is giving his opinion about this supposed risk for the bitcoin blockchain and while he does not say it explicitly he is obviously implying that the solution to this is for the United States government to support ripple so they can send transactions all over the world without the risk of the Chinese government blocking them, which is completely ridiculous.

I love what you have just said and I am going to use it. Next time I read something weird or utter dribble I will think about what the person has to gain.

I think it's just America being America again. People are always saying crazy stuff. Making up problems where none exist. I really don't think you can reverse a transaction even if you controlled the whole network. It doesn't work that way. It's a one-way system. Unless I am much mistaken it justs doesn't work that way.
112  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I have shared about bitcoin on my class on: August 29, 2020, 11:59:41 PM
Freebitcoin isn't really a scam unless they don't come through with that Lambo they promised. All they saying is that they giving away up to $200 an hour. It could be $0.50 and still be "up to" it would only have to go up to $200 once in order to be true. So many advertisers use this sort of thing. It is because it's hard to keep up with the competition making all these promoses.

Look at internet hosting. They often sell "unlimited" hosting. It's not really unlimited.
113  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: UK hospital launches rehab programme for bitcoin addiction on: August 29, 2020, 11:54:50 PM
I think fiat is more of an addiction. How many people chase money? Bitcoin is a currency anyway so it is normal for people to be very drawn to it. Setting up a hospital seems really strange to me.
I still don't understand how you get addicted to a currency? Talking about it? Using it? What exactly us the addiction?
114  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Philippines SEC warns against crypto investment. on: August 23, 2020, 11:13:51 PM
Every country gives the same warning about this with every scam. Long before crypto. Like when there were mail letter scams and things the government had to warn the poor and gullible not to part with their money for promises of riches doing easy things anyone can do.

I assume they only ban acts of promoting PONZI crypto projects. Currently, the Philippines as well as other developing countries do not have a legal corridor for crypto. It may take some time for these countries to start crypto education and incorporate crypto into their legislation.

Not actually banning but warning those people.

There are a lot of investing scams happening in our country and people are believing in such too good to be true schemes by the scammers. One of which is this Bitcoin Revolution that became popular for a while. In their endorsements, they are using popular artists of the country including Manny Pacquiao which is not true.

https://pia.gov.ph/press-releases/releases/1045466

People who fall for bitcoin revolution deserve it. You can't feel sorry for these people. If you burn yourself on a hot pot and then touch it again right away who is at fault?
115  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Scam victims on: August 23, 2020, 10:54:22 PM
I am sorry but you are truly an idiot. How someone like you even manages to end up having that amount of money disgusts me. I wish I had that money, gosh what I could do with it. YOu just threw away a life changing amount to a scammer. That money went to a scammer instead of honest exchanges. People like you damage yourselves and the rest of us. It annoys me that if they took 100k from you how much from others? They can do one scam and retire.  Angry

https://coinkast.io/pricing

Why on earth would you need a "package" to trade on an exchange? 5 trades / day?? Wtf are you kidding me?? People trade thousands of times. These packages cost up to 50k $$ holy hell these scammers aim high

"The minimum deposit amount will depend on the base currency of your account of $500 or its equivalent in EUR, GBR and AUD"

The minimum deposit is $500??? Lol so legit....

"Client's Testimonials" why would an exchange need this? Testimonials are a classic scam technique to make you think they are being vouched for and are trusted. Scams are always so desperate to prove they are legit. Legit exchanges do not need to tell you they are legit. It's just silly.

"We do not accept Fiat on our trading platform as we are fully a cryptocurrency organisation." Yet they ask for KYC? "You will need to provide a copy of a valid government-issued ID. (Passport, driver’s license, ID card)"
Typical for scammers to ask for KYC.

What were you thinking? Why did you fall for this? You deserve this and only have yourself to blame. I don't feel sorry for you.

You are even more stupid then I thought because not only did you just for for a scam you are about to fall for a second scam. You just asked if there is a plave you can go to that will help you get your funds back. Yes there are plenty and they are all scams. They double scam you. You haveto be a special kind of stupid to fall for those.

Your fund are gone there is nothing you can do that website can dissapear over night and now they know who you are where you live and have your money.
116  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Holders have an opportunity to earn interest due to cred partnership on: August 23, 2020, 10:40:40 PM
Not your keys, not your coins.

Many newbies could indeed fall for this "offer", but beware, they usually have only some Satoshi and may be disappointed if they won't see (unrealisticly) big growth in their wallet.

On the other hand, I don't think that people holding many bitcoins for long time will go for this for 2 big reasons:
1. why risk to lose big money for small returns (when bitcoin itself gives nice returns alone)?
2. Roger Ver's site/wallet is known for scamming people into buying bcash and believing they hold Bitcoin, why would anybody sane keep their bitcoin in those guy's custody?!

"Not your keys, not your coins." I always remember this golden rule when investing. If your crypto is sitting in another persons wallet on some exchange or something they coins are not yours. This is why if I do invest in something I prefer to invest in the coin itself since I then own it. Or even better a node which is also under my control and I gain interest from my own holdings and not interest from some magical company or wallet or anything else. It scared me to see all these wallets available on the google store. I mean.... Don't you add your private keys to these wallets? Even without understanding bitcoin that doesn't seem like a good idea.
Nothing is stopping someone making a wallet uploading it to the google store then just stealing all the keys?
117  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: [NEW] - EarnX.eu - PTC | Offerwall | Video's | Direct & in-direct referral $$$$ on: August 23, 2020, 10:33:58 PM
The website is doing well. I think it would be better to use cryptocurrency prices instead of fiat. I have noticed that as an advertiser you can get CPA offers for a much cheaper.
I have seen a few websites using this script some had adshare. Adshare is dangerous because it can be a Ponzi but it is nice for advertisers who don't plan to withdraw. I notice you have mostly indian users, how come? Is it planned? Where have you been advertising?
118  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Be carefull Newbies! Fake exchange promocodes scams on: August 22, 2020, 11:09:49 PM
Scammers are really clever nowadays, if you're just clicking before thinking then you might fall for this. Newbies should always keep this advice; If its to good to be true then its probably not true. Always be wary and cautious when a platform, offers you easy quick earnings by depositing something.
Exactly mate and if there are something that make them doubtful the best way to keep safe is ask the community,we have plenty of investigator here that will help and assist them in cases like there are a possible scam to happen.
There is no doubt that it is not a scam. I don't trust any free satoshi site except freebitcoin faucet site. Other site will always ask for a deposit when you will try to withdraw your btc. Let's think it is legit but why would I have to deposit 0.016 btc? Why would this much big amount? So, becareful before depositing your hardly earned bitcoin in this such kind of exchanger, websites, faucets, or any gambling site.
or Some is asking for KYC just for penny.

this is an obvious scam that luring newbies and greed people to fall for them,Hope the years are enough to teach cryptonians what is legit and which is scam.

Scammers abuse KYC lots. People misunderstand KYC and scammers use it to seem legit when they really are not legit. They do many different things to try "enforce" that they are the good guys. Many will claim. "we cannot guarantee you a 25% profit but we can a 12% when actually anyone who guarantees you a profit shouldn't be trusted. They will use any excuse to get you to give them your money and any excuse to prevent you from getting back your money. One of the favourite things is they lock your account for "suspicious activity".
119  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do scams harm Bitcoin's reputation in the mainstream world? on: August 16, 2020, 05:39:30 PM
I'm sure scams hurt everything no matter what niche, world, or category they are in. Scammers can even give peoples race or culture a bad name. So I would not be surprised if scams gave bitcoin a bad name as well.

Of course, even though we can say that it will contribute to the popularity of bitcoin and cryptocurrency in general, scams still have bearing to Bitcoin's reputation in the mainstream world.

That's why it is our task. Us who can understand which one is a scam and which is not to educate people, especially the newcomers about this.

And I found some websites that can help on determining which websites are scam and which are not. Which bitcoin wallets are used for scam and which are not.

Here's the link:

https://scam-alert.io/

and here's another one:

https://www.bitcoinabuse.com/terms

Keep safe everyone!

Nice sites thanks. Honestly though most of these people are total and complete idiots and they are surprised when they are scammmed. Look at these idiots for example https://scam-alert.io/scam/19Zd4ptQeNzQk7aoSiHMKHKpcfADoQGKsq

People actually invest 8k usd in this site.
The sextorition one where they claim they have pictures of you and show you one of your passwords. If you fall for that then what can I say? I even emailed the scammer back and asked them to send me some extra copies for my friends xP The email bounced.
120  Economy / Services / Re: Do you have a follower base on - YouTube, Twitter, Telegram, Website etc.? on: August 16, 2020, 05:32:05 PM
Why don't you set up an exclusive bounty campaign? You could also get good posters on other forms to help you out. I think people focus too muc hon this forum because it is the biggest but they forget that there are so many projects here it is difficult to get yours seen.
