or diversionary things mate?other things that will help us become busy specially when the urge of gambling is dipping into our mind.

Yup, diversion is a good way too. However, I emphasize self discipline, control and limiations as mentioned by cryptoadditchie. No one can help you but your self. Not any hobby, diversion, family or friends. Because no matter how many people advice you to stop gambling, or how many diversions you have or even if you go to a shrink, if you don't want to fight your urge to gamble it is all for nothing.

That's the best prevention before addiction eat you. Control and limitation the only one who could more likely to help out you is yourself but the abovementioned ideas could also help.
102  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Who among us here has been addicted but successfully cured addiction? on: February 13, 2020, 06:55:27 AM
I read that there are people who are addicted in gambling but they are successfully cured from addiction, I'm interested to know what are the methods they do in order to get cured from such addiction, I use the word cured because gambling is a serious problem, I call it as a disease, so please share you experience so we can also help those who might have been experiencing an addiction right now.

When you say cured? Does it mean someone who is a compulsive gambler before who completely stopped gambling? Or those who were addicted and, can now overcome their urge and play casually? I use to gamble a lot before, but now I gamble casually and I would say I was able to take gambling out of my system.

I felt that my day is incomplete without gambling, but now I don't feel the need or urge to gamble. I think the key is your drive to control your self. Any habit that is not healthy, even difficult must be stopped.

NB: Taking profits does not literally mean dumping tokens, for examples, i earned 4,500,000 cyfm then worth over 200$
Today it worths less than 10$.

I have seen a lot of ICO tokens before that had a massive sale during their crowdfunding stage and a lot of people were expecting for a massive growth, however, it turned the other way around. That is why joining bounties is same as trading or investing, you should really do your own research whether it is worth spending time and supporting. I've been into some bounties with less participant where tthe value was massive when the bounty was distributed. Don't be a bounty hunter who follows hype, make your own research and stand and your own point of view and opinion.

105  Economy / Gambling / Re: IDEA - new concept for strategy game on: February 12, 2020, 09:15:52 AM
Gamblers with a high amount bankroll will enjoy such game. This migh be exciting to watch and players might get a high amount of money depending on the amount of bets accumulated. Well, I guess it is better to have atleast a number of players winning the pot foe example, the winner gets 50% of the pot, 2nd placer gets 30%, 3rd gets 15% and 4th gets 5% or any of such proportion to atleast give incentives to those who have joined.
106  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: IDEA for a lottery that does not depend on luck on: February 12, 2020, 08:24:42 AM
This game can't even be counted as a lottery in the first place since players literally have no equal chances in a guessing game where people can build a "strategy". Lottery games may it be traditional or modern are always about number being drawn randomly where all players have fair chances to take the prize. Also I don't like the idea of this kind of game technically people or a group who have tons of money can dump their money to buy tickets and can easily predict the number closes to the money they own + the number of money of what others have entered, basically they will be winning every week since they have the best chance possible on predicting the number.
People would just simply wait for the 7th day before they do make a bet because this would be the last day were bets will really be near on pot prize prediction.
Do this one really involved some strategy? No it doesnt because you can already saw those numbers in front of you and just simply input it up and
trying hard to get the last prediction or spot.As said i dont find it interesting at all.

Same though, guessing the pot on the last minute of the 7th day will give you a higher probability of winning. This kind of game is not really a good attraction in crypto gambling. Lotteries or this thpe of game is just like a side bet for gamblers to try their luck for the jackpot for a single bet.

Without doubt about being the best players, all of the best mid players come together in OG. Ceb is the guy that contributed most and Notail's strength is coming from Ceb's motivation as per as I've watched the both truesight.

Their winning streak had been stopped by liquid and it showed that there are still adjustments they need to make. It can be expected since they just had a new roster. In my opinion Sumail is strong, however I think he is to confident sometimes and makes initiation on his own. I would still like to see Ana back as the main of the team.
108  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Which is easier, stop when you are winning or stop when you are losing? on: February 12, 2020, 06:27:08 AM
I guess the same goes for both. Whenever a gambler wins they become greedy and crave for more money. On the other hand, when gamblers lose they chase for their losses. So in both situation, it is still difficult to stop.

Take note that any habits that you isually do or do in a regular basis is something difficult to stop. It might take time and you might need to withdraw on it gradually.

No, crypto gambling is no different in casino gambling. You even have the luxury of time and convenience to drink or do anything you want at the comfort of your home while gambling. I see the same problem with computer addiction/online games addiction. I know a lot of friends, or even me when I was at my youth. I spend alot of times in front of conputer even for 16 hours just playing and smoking on my free time which really put me in a bad health condition.
112  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling Addiction Can Seriously Diminish The Quality Of Your Life. on: February 11, 2020, 09:31:49 AM
This is an old but hold thread. This summarizes myths and facts about addiction and being a problem gambler. One of my aunts is a gambling addict and she is not actually contented having her friends go to her house to gamble, she lets a group of her friends go to her home to play all day. Then there are days she ia not contented and goes to the casino to play. That is the moment I believe that no jackpot or anount of money can make a problem gambler stop. She even won a jackpot in the casino worth almost $30,000 in pur money and this only made her to crave more rather than to stop.

Now she is struggling even some of properties are sold and even jewelries that were left by my late uncle were now sold because of financial problem.

You can't help someone who does not want to be helped, so enjoy your gambling, what else can we say.

This is true in the case of my aunt.
113  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Leave gambling, if it destroys you. on: February 11, 2020, 08:46:14 AM
Most gambling addicts are not having fun in gambling anymore they are gambling out of the urge of winning. I know how it feels when you know your self you need to stop something that is not doing anything good for you but you are not emotionally ready for it. Your mind is telling you that you need to stop, however, you cannot stop doing it because of addiction. Almost any kind of addiction is hard to break. It takes a lot of conviction, courage and of course hour intent to really keep your self out of something you are addicted to. No one else can really help you, but your self and your willingness to really put a stop to your addiction.

Also, Notail and Ceb are great analysts and drafters. They can complete everything needed by great players. I think they are the most contributors to OG for winning TI 2 times since we know that the drafting phase and gameplay strategy are very important in a Dota 2 match.

Great players with a trashy draft will lead to miserable plays. I admire Notail's draft and decision making during the game, I mean he is a huge play maker, which I think made their synergy stronger in the past TI's.

Quote
I would agree for "Sumail" but for "MidOne" he can't really handle the lane against "Sumail" at TI9.

It doesn't matter which is which, having them both play together in a team brings bigger potential to the team. Midone played well as POS3. However, I find Saksa a little bit off position in some clash compared how Jerax pokes in and out during clash on team fights. But still a great team.

116  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What p2p games will you play? on: February 10, 2020, 05:10:51 AM
I guess games where you can use you knowledge and skills as an advantage against other players. Most gambling games are all about luck and stuff. Something like arcades, racing and etc.

I am wondering if there are platforms here who cater setting a match for online games like dota, LOL, and other famous online games where players can bet on each other.
there was a competition last year i believe when Dota Players are Invited to make a Bet using Bitcoin, it was organized by one user and Escrow help so there will be no scam.

I can't find the thread about that competition but you can use this other thread as a reference on which games are you trying to find about Esports

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5172182.0

I think the answers from that thread are enough to give you an idea which and where to Bet, because for me? I can gamble with my FB friends if I want to play these online games.

Thank you for your reply. I have been looking for other gamblers who are also into online games and wondering if such bet exists in any platform.

The closed qualifier now for each region is intense and mostly on the Europe qualifiers. The teams that are aiming to get to the top 3 are most tier 1 teams so I think before looking to the majors, let's look to the qualifiers and the Starladder minor.
But I think I really like OG now, obviously, the past roster is the best and their chemistry as a team is incomparable to the current but rooting for them to this major.

I really like the new OG roster having mid-one, sumail and saksa on the team. I have watched one of their fight against the alliance.  I would say their new team has a lot to work on in terms of synergy since they are palying with a new set of team. Anna an jerax will surely be missed with all the signature plays they have made in previous TI's and majors. Still rooting for this team.

the two things that come to my mind are:
- making enough or a lot of money.
- finding a passion (even relationship-related or life/activity related) that changes your priorities.

People who earn a lot of money in gambling crave more. No one who even had hit a jackpot stopped from gambling, but instead they want to play more, either to tust their luck again or to satisfy their lust in gambling.

The second one also would not help, I know a lot of gamblers who had a good career, a great family and this doesn't keep them away from gambling.

The only one who can stop you from gambling is your self. Your determination and your persistence to stop gambling. No hobbies, accomplishment in gambling, or even money can make you stop. It is all up to you.
