111  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Owners of GTX 1060, what is your hashrate? on: July 07, 2017, 06:48:12 PM
That is one card, EVERY card has the chance to get any of the three memory types.

Then I won the lotto, because GPU-Z shows Samsung for all the ones I bought Grin.

Good to know!

Most (or all?) cards that are shipped currently seem to have Hynix memory, really bad...

Zotac cards are running with Samsung memory.  If you want to find out what memory a GPU card is using, google image search the card name + "GPU-Z".  So for "Zotac 1060 GPU-Z", you'll get image search results that look like this:

This is how I determined which cards to avoid.  Plus Zotac cards seem to be in stock on Amazon more often, so double win.

113  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] TagCoin - The world's first cryptocurrency for Rewards on: July 06, 2017, 10:59:47 AM
I emailed cryptopia and they said too busy to add new coins, but for $18,500 USD you can pay to list...I think thats a bit steep..Wink

Tag used to be on Bittrex, no?  They've got a slack and they are pretty responsive to coin devs on there.  I would say polo, but that would be a rollercoaster for TAG in price with the PNDs there.

114  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] TagCoin - The world's first cryptocurrency for Rewards on: July 04, 2017, 11:24:37 AM
After discussions overnight, we have decided not to do a relaunch of Tagcoin, but to create a new coin suitable for decentralized payments and advertising (using smart contracts) in Android apps within an appstore, to circumvent middlemen etc.

However, the same company that is being set up in China will be promoting Tagcoin there, as well as organizing a new coin ICO. To that end, we will be creating a Chinese version of Tagwild, push the Tag Trader exchange that is already live in the Tagcash Wallet App, and continue to market it as a rewards coin in China as well. Earning rewards and spending them is acceptable there as it is here in Philippines and elsewhere, but using a cryptocurrency to pay for goods and services in China is almost non existent. Alipay and Wechat have that market already.

The market is already rising in China for Tagcoin and now we are trading it in the exchange in Philippines for Pesos We can probably see it reaching $10, giving it a market cap of around $50 to $60m USD

So coin exchange for the new ICO coin, or no exchange?  If you're not doing the coin exchange to the new token, can you at least push for another exchange like bittrex to trade TAG again?  BTC38 won't generate a deposit address for me, and honestly I just want to be able to buy and sell TAG via BTC.

I'm all for the buyout and move to a token if it means I can do something with my existing TAG.  Considering the market has always been controlled by the Chinese TAG traders and miners, I'd say it's a logical move to rebrand to a Chinese focused coin.

I'm behind you on this one, Mark.

Sigh.

So when will the POS (point of sale) system be completed roughly?

Iceland's customs office denied the original shipment of tablets that we had ordered.  One of the team members(MikkiRefur here) got another order sorted, and he is working on setting it up now.  He took over the final changes that he wanted to implement to the merchant wallet code, so he would need to give an ETA.

So perhaps it's time now to relight the fire @fuse?

Perhaps.

Hi guys,
Not much news spreaded around here last 12 months, are we dying slowly?

To be transparent, things are slow going on our end right now.  Everyone is pretty busy with life at the moment.  2 members of the team are building houses(myself being one), one is doing a lot of freelance work which keeps him away from steady development during the week, and we're trying to connect when we can connect to get things done, though.

We're currently working on a merchant only version of the Android app, and some merchant friendly tweaks need to be made to that.  We've purchased tablets to provide to merchants as an AUR POS system, and we're testing that out and getting documentation ready for a push to get more merchants onboard.  A lot of the efforts right now are grass roots word of mouth by team members in Iceland.  The blockchain is functioning properly right now, and for the most part the price has been relatively stable, so technical developments are on the back burner in favor of code cleanup and maintenance.

We're also talking about revamping our server structure.  Currently, different members of the team run the various servers that are used for the blockchain.  We're looking to consolidate servers to one hosting provider(with multiple hosting locations), so that we can all maintain all the servers instead of individually maintaining our own servers.  I know that's common sense, but we just all spun up servers as needed until now.  Organizational structure is kind of the easiest solution to tackle at the moment without the need to get the entire team involved.  This process will most likely happen gradually over the next couple months.  We will also be discussing the maintenance fee upkeep for these servers, as the individual team members have been fronting the costs for the last 2 years.  This may or may not be paid out with the M1 funds going forward, but we have yet to formally discuss this in a proper meeting.  If we do decide to go this route with the funding, the community will be notified and made aware of our intentions.

I can report that there have been a considerable amount of Android app installs in the last couple months.  There have also been a number of uninstalls, but that is expected.

We'll keep everyone posted when we have news.  I hope this helps.

Cheers,

Fuse
