Just curiosity Fuse, what is the estimate that people "forgot"

Approximately 15k.  Not an amount that someone would rage about, but still... I want to make sure people get their coin.  I don't want to be considered a scam pool op later down the road.

I just don't get why people mine on a pool and never pay themselves out.

Still looking to give someone some coin.

In fact, lets make it an even 200,000NLG for this bounty.

+1, agreed.  Take your time and make it right.  The community won't worry about a delay if the end result is perfect.

On a seperate note:

Bounty:

As a US citizen with a wife, child and baby on the way, and 2 dogs, my chances in partaking in a Cafe de Prins meal and pint anytime soon is very slim.  Let's face it, I'm never leaving the country.  However, I fully support NLG and where it's going, and I will continue to mine and hold NLG.(Kudos to the team)

That being said... I want to spend some coin.

I am offering a one time 150,000(150.000)NLG to the first merchant that accepts NLG at an existing US-based store/service for any of the following(in order of preference):

  • Amazon gift cards
  • Precious metals(Silver/Gold)
  • Steam or Origin game codes

To qualify for the bounty, you need to have an existing BCT thread with good feedback, and you need to post an announcement in this thread and the NLG forums.  I reserve the right to deny the reward if your store/service is jenky(http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=jenky).

Funds will be paid by me, out of my personal wallet.  This has no ties to the dev team, and is totally by my own accord.

Ready, set, go.

-Fuse

Here is that bounty Smiley

It's still up for grabs.  Still waiting on someone to make my day and fulfill my request Grin

On a separate note:

If you still have an outstanding balance on the old NLG.CripToe.Com pool, set up a withdrawal today before 1200(12pm).

At that time, I'm shutting the pool down.  If there is still coin on the server when it shuts down, I'm sacrificing it to the exchange gods.

Reminder:

If you have existing funds on NLG.CripToe.Com, please transfer them out by Friday at 1200(12pm) PST.  At that time, I am shutting down that server to make room for the new pool at http://CripToe.Com.

To date, the nlg.criptoe.com gave out more than 215k NLG to users as a bonus, and created 4.4 million NLG on the network!

Thanks to the miners for supporting the pool!

Hey bud,

I keep all my guns in Arkansas and my weed in California! California doesn't dig these types of guns.  I don't believe any of the guns I have right now are legal in Cali, but you can check with your FFL.

If you have your medical MJ card I have some ubber cheap pounds.

Thanks,

BAC

I hear you, brother.  Cali sucks for guns.  I was wondering how you were holding this and the p-90s in CA.

I don't hold a card, but I know enough people that do.  Maybe we can work something out later in PM.

Are you in fact in the bay area in CA?

I'm down in the central valley, and I'm wondering if you'd consider a local pickup if the first deal falls through.

That law was recently passed (like last month) in Maryland and DC where I am but we are more progressive than most. There are some where I don't doubt it will be illegal for another 5-10 years at least.

Dispensaries on the east coast are very concentrated and almost exclusively in the north. The closest one to me is several hours away, and I live in a somewhat pro-legalization area. But in any case recreational use is far more important in terms of how it will affect the market, atleast IMO.

I think you'll win the war with the MMJ battle.  When you put enough kids with disabling seizures in front of the bible-thumpers and tell them that they are cured with mmj, you'll win the bible belt.  Win the bible belt on MMJ and the rest of the states will start turning recreational.

Most MMJ states have decent craigslist listings for this stuff.  I know I could go on craigslist right now and get anything I wanted as long as I had my card.  Maybe we should just start posting craigslist postings to inform people of POT.

This is exactly what I was looking for.  This is progress.

Thanks for the link, mate.

-Fuse

There are several smaller sites accepting it, heres a couple, both of which I've tried:

http://www.venusvaporizer.com/
http://pixskull.com/

There just needs to be a consolidated list of places that accept it and as far as I know it doesn't exist.

I'm just saying that everyone says how well this coin is doing in terms of it's goals, and I'm thinking it isn't quite as accomplished as people make it out to be.

-Fuse

You're right to say Potcoin isn't as accomplished as some people make it out to be but we are a lot farther along in 6 months then most coins. Part of the problem is, marijuana is still only legal in 2 states, which significantly impairs our market. People outside of those 2 states still buy it with cash in back alleyways. Well maybe not in California where you are Wink but on the east coast its still very much illegal.

Actually there's a bunch of dispensaries on the east coast.  You can find some listed here:

https://weedmaps.com/dispensaries/in

There are 22 states that have laws pertaining to the use of MMJ.  There are only 2 states where it is recreationally legal.

And I'm from NY originally.  Many moons ago, we just used to go up to Vermont or Maine and pick it up.  Hell, sometimes we'd go up to Canada as well.  As long as you were under an OZ in NY, it was just a ticket.

I agree that there needs to be a more prominent vendor list somewhere. But I don't think its right to say that the only vendor accepting Potcoin is River Rock. There are plenty of them (i.e. coinpayments.net), they just aren't dispensaries selling marijuana. The coin is supposed to be for the industry as a whole, and nowhere does it say you should use Potcoin exclusively to buy Pot.

I'm not saying that it is exclusive to purchasing medicinal marijuana.  Is there somewhere where I said that was the case?  That being said, what else can I buy right now?  Can I buy seeds, vapes, papers, hemp clothing, books, grow supplies, stash boxes... anything related to the medical and recreational marijuana industry?  That's what I'm talking about.  I completely agree that it isn't just about buying pot.

Rock River is great, but I can't buy anything from them from California.  There needs to be a head shop or a grow shop that sells online and ships nationwide.  If that is accomplished, others will follow suit.  Hell, if there was a grow shop that accepted it, I would be more than completely happy.  The forum member BitcoinAcceptedHere always has a WTS thread for MMJ goods.  Has anyone approached him to accept POT?

I'm just saying that everyone says how well this coin is doing in terms of it's goals, and I'm thinking it isn't quite as accomplished as people make it out to be.

They will *want* to support for reasons beyond commercial. What other coin has that?

Litecoin and NLG come to mind. Both being used in various merchant capacities, with NLG growing faster than LTC.

Leafcoin wants to plant trees to combat global warming.  Greencoin wants to create renewable energy solutions, as does solarcoin.  I could probably go on and on, but that was just the first page of the altcoin subforum.

Having a great idea is one thing.  Implementing it is another.

As far as everyone thinks POT has come... it hasn't.  That is the cold reality.  Not spreading FUD, just stating facts.  The only vendor that openly accepts POT, in the industry that POT is targeting, is Rock River.  Unfortunately, they don't accept it for medication, and as far as I can tell, they don't take online orders for the stuff you can buy with POT.  Unless there are more vendors that we don't know about, that's it.  There still is no accepting vendors list anywhere.... STILL.

Mind you, the price is increasing, and that's great.  But there needs to be industry acceptance... not the blind hope for industry acceptance.

Notice to NLG.CripToe.Com miners:

In an attempt to unify my pools and make my life less complicated, I have decided to convert all my pools from MPOS to NOMP.  Because of this, I will be disabling mining on NLG.CripToe.Com tomorrow(Monday June 16th) at 1200(12PM) PST.  The pool front-end will remain open until all transactions are paid out to miners, at which point the pool will come down to make way for the new NOMP pool.

In the meantime, please move your miners to http://CripToe.Com.  The stratum port is 3001.  There is no login.  You just use your wallet address as the username and anything you want for the password.

Over time, I will be implementing various changes to the front end, but rest assured the pool will be as solid, if not more so, than my other pools.

If you have any questions or comments, please PM me.

Thanks,

Fuse

Just a reminder that NLG.CripToe.Com mining will be shut down in an hour and a half.

If you are mining on the pool, please move your miners to http://CripToe.Com.

Thanks,

Fuse

fk nopm, where work mpos ?

Obviously fk english as well.  Roll Eyes

If you don't like the pool, you are more than welcome to start another or continue to solo mine.

I'm not trying to have a monopoly on KDC pools.  Someone asked for a pool, and I set it up.

Still working on the code.  In the meantime, I have set up a KDC pool at http://CripToe.Com.

Be warned that the pool site is in early development, and there may be downtime every now and then until everything is finalized.  However, those of you that know me know that I take pride in making sure my pools stay up and mining.  That being said, mine away.

That is a great idea! I really like that, make it so you can donate if you want to, and leave the amount up to the user. The law of averages says it should work out to be the same in the long run Wink

The smarter option, which I mentioned, is creating a charity pool or using ASICs to mine these charity coins.  Both help secure the blockchain and add to the stability of the coin without taxing the average user.

...Soooo... basically it's a forced tribute from all potcoin users worldwide, to XYZ beneficiary whenever the 'owner' decided to flip the switch?

Why not comment in there what its future use was?

Why not add this into the git comments/explanation?

Why not simply have made it a feature within the wallet where the user could specify a percentage, a destination address, and an 'opt-in' switch?

Instead, this was slid under the door.

Not to mention, there's no easy way for folks to tell if their windows wallet has it disabled. Which is why I encourage people to check the CRC values against compiling from git source. If the CRC values vary, then there's going to be a lot of explaining to do.

I will say that there is an additional 40-50 lines of code that is in the leafcoin source that actually implements this change.  I did not see it in the POT source, so I'm pretty sure this code change was the precursor to adding the rest of the code.

Mind you, that could be added to the windows wallet source as well, but I'm pretty sure people would notice the 2% missing from their locally mined blocks.

However, fuck the tax.  If Potcoin wants to donate to research or charity, then start buying up ASIC gear, run an official 5% fee charity pool, and do things internally.  I came to crypto to get away from taxes, not pay into them.

we plan to raise money for this from the community and also match all donations.

we are working on all of our new branding that will be ready soon for a big advertising push.

New branding, or updating the existing branding?  Can we stick with something?

When we updated the last version the creator of the coin wanted to add in the possibility of having a % taken for something if we ever needed it or if the community wanted to use to raise money for charity or maybe people who cant afford their medication. You can clearly see its commented out and is not being used.

We at first wanted to raise money for research and charity but we never implemented it and now we have in the chance we use it one day.

If I want to donate to charity or research, I would donate to charity or research on my own.  You imposing a 2% tax on the coin is just that, a tax.  And yes, I can see that it was commented out in the code, as I pointed out.  It doesn't change the fact that it was never mentioned, and it appeared like an attempt to sneak it in without informing the community.

And you talk about the creator of the coin.  Who does what around here?  Can we get a list of who does what?  Something like this:

https://guldencoin.com/who-we-are/

And for the love of god, can you please clearly list places that accept POT on the website?  This has been asked numerous times before.

On a positive note... kudos on finally having a clear and concise media kit that can be given out.
