101  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin reached 8000 - and what next? on: May 21, 2019, 07:32:23 AM
Now I am not sure when the next rally is going to occur. But one thing is sure. The next one should take us comfortably above the 10K mark, and probably around $12,000 per coin. And unlike the case we had in 2016, I think this time investors will be accumulating the coins expecting a price rise from the block reward halving. We still have 1 year and 2 days to go for the event, but the impact will be seen in the market from 2nd half of 2019. I expect the prices to reach 10-12K before this rally.
102  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Exchange Hacked - Thief Caught? on: May 21, 2019, 07:25:45 AM
If they are caught, I think it defiles the purpose of cryptocurrency that is being anonymous. However, most hackers are smart enough to avoid leaving any form of trace back in a case of successful hack.

Satoshi never claimed that Bitcoin is 100% anonymous, when he invented it in 2009. If that was the case, then why all the transactions are stored in the Blockchain? But even then, complete anonymity is possible as long as you are not converting your Bitcoins to fiat. If fiat is not involved, then no once can trace your Bitcoin wallet back to you.

The hackers will be caught, sooner or later. They are greedy and they would be looking forward to cashout their coins. At some point the authorities will be able to link a fiat bank account with the wallets they are using.
103  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do you protect your digital coins? on: May 21, 2019, 07:21:19 AM
It seems to me that everyone has his own way of protecting his assets, but I think no one is 100% protected from viruses. The main thing is not to download questionable programs from unknown sources, check the system for viruses and best save money on a hardware wallet.

Have a good anti-virus system installed in your laptop (like Norton or Kaspersky) and you should be fine. But even then, they can't protect you from the phishing links and physical keyloggers. Never open any wallet or exchange links from the email. This step should prevent 99.99% of the phishing incidents. Normally Norton/Kasper are capable of flagging down keyloggers, but better take precautions and avoid unknown people physically accessing your system.

Hardware wallet is also a good option, in case you are not averse to spending $100 or $200 on it. But then, you should be comfortable with using the hardware wallet and careful in storing the passwords and backup seed.
104  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why do we need so many cryptocurrency exchanges? on: May 21, 2019, 07:16:37 AM
I would say , the more the better . As there is projects out there that can afford to pay listing fee for binance and there is that can't so they search for some not so popular exchanges to list themselves . Image if there was only Coinbase , Binance and Bittrex . Do you think new projects would be able to list themselves there ? Imagine the volume on exchanges if there was only 3 of them Smiley And ofcourse more funds for hackers as if they hack 1 of 3 exchanges Smiley

Why there is a listing fee? The exchanges are already collecting fee from the users for trading, and therefore the listing should be completely free.

IMO, it makes the exchanges more prone to scams and ponzis. Now what happens in case you are charging a certain amount for listing is that good projects which can't afford this amount will be denied listing. At the same time, scam coins may get listed if they are ready to pay a certain amount.

In case they want to charge for listing, then trading should be made free. Can't have it both ways.
105  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will You Advise Newbies To Enter Bitcoin Now? on: May 21, 2019, 07:10:29 AM
You can make investment in Bitcoin, at any point of time. The only condition is that you should hold on to your investemnt for at least 3 years. In case you can't wait for this long, and you want to become a billionaire overnight, then Bitcoin is not going to work for you. In such cases, you need to go for HYIPs and pyramid schemes.

I have been tracking the returns from Bitcoin ever since 2012. The only instance of someone losing money in Bitcoin is if he listens to the FUD and does panic selling. And unlike other assets, there is a lot of FUD and negative propaganda associated with Bitcoin.

That said, I can't say the same about altcoins (perhaps with the exception of Ethereum). In case you want to make investments in ETH, just remember that they can be more volatile than BTC. So invest amounts which you can afford to lose.
106  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: WPP Energy tokens? on: May 20, 2019, 05:14:10 PM
I'm not sure, what are you saying WPP works well, WPP's trading volume is only 20k $, and its price is 5 times lower than when it is listed and 30 times lower than the ICO price.

When the token is trading at 3% if its ICO price, the only thing that is left to do is to convert them to ETH or BTC as quick as you can, and cover at least a small fraction of your losses. From what I have seen in the past, no token will make a comeback after these sort of losses. And the trading volumes indicate that the promoters are also dumping at least some of their holdings.
107  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Current bounty campaigns that can make you rich? on: May 20, 2019, 05:09:53 PM
in my opinion it is difficult for now to find a bounty campaign that can make you rich quickly and easily, because now the bounty campaign does not provide income like in 2017, even though there are some bounty campaign that can at least still give you income (although it is difficult to find bounty campaigns which can give you income for now), because many bounty campaign cannot pay bounty hunter (ICO from the bounty campaign not reach the softcap).

There were many positive factors in 2017. First of all, the number of bounty hunters were quite small. Even social media bounties had only a few hundred participants. Look at the ongoing bounty projects. For most of the social media bounties, you will find users in their thousands or even tens of thousands. So the reward per user has undergone a sharp decline.
108  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ICO still have huge chance of surviving on: May 20, 2019, 05:06:51 PM
Investors have been really careful to invest in an ICO project. The opportunity to invest in ICO is quite large, hopefully this year the ICO scam will decrease and Investors will no doubt invest in the ICO project.

I am yet to see any positive signals in the ICO industry, and there is nothing even to indicate that the decline has been stalled. Even in 2019, we had a few well publicized scam projects which stole the money from investors, and there were many projects which failed to achieve softcap. And the most worrying sign is the sharp decline in the investment volumes directed towards the ICOs.
109  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2019 NBA Season on: May 20, 2019, 04:23:05 PM
-snip-
I don't consider the win be lucky. Kawhi Leonard was injured that game and what a game he showcased. He played I think 50+ minutes that game. Giannis was shooting poorly that game so I guess this wasn't luck. Giannis had a rough game.

Hmm... looks like Giannis got carried away with all the sudden attention he got during last week. Or perhaps his fans were expecting too much from him and he was under a lot of pressure to repeat his performance. He is just 24 years and far away from becoming a legend. Mike Budenholzer should remember this during the next match, and try to calm him down.
110  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How did today bullish trend affect gambling! on: May 20, 2019, 04:18:59 PM
Not 4909 dollars anymore, now it's 8063 dollars. I think the effects of a intense pump are very diversified. Some gamblers will just adjust their bets down, to not spend much money fast, others will stop gambling until the market finds a balance point, there are those who change to stable altcoins temporarily and I believe there are even gamblers who will increase their bets, to try earning btc fast now to cashout during the pump peak.

There will also be a bunch of gamblers, who after finding that the value of their coins have increased, would go for additional amounts. For example, someone was planning to gamble for BTC0.10 ($320 in March) earlier. Now the worth of those coins have increased to $800, and he may decide to gamble away the entire amount. You will be able to find such people here itself.
111  Economy / Economics / Re: become rich by bitcoin. on: May 20, 2019, 04:15:16 PM
I'm doubt your topic about what? anyway bitcoin price has always kept its position successful. 1 BTC = 8000$ What do you think this? Where bitcoin first started 0.30-0.50$ something, You never thought it was a great success.

Who told you that Bitcoins were first traded for $0.30? That's wrong. The first coins were mined in January 2009, and the first exchange (New Liberty Standard) was established almost a year later. The first exchange rates (in 2010) were around $0.001 per coin and by 2011, the prices had breached the psychologically important level of $1 per coin.
112  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Current bounty campaigns that can make you rich? on: May 20, 2019, 04:11:42 PM
Since early January of this year I haven't seen any good projects that can make you rich except for very few like veil , miracle tele and Air wallet ,its possible I might missed some but believe me I'm always on the look out for good projects with working products

I am not very excited about the projects which you have listed out. These projects are copycats of already existing coins and they have launched very active bounty campaigns to advertise themselves. Personally I don't have anything against these coins, but I am not finding a convincing reason either to support or invest in these projects.
113  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are you dreaming to launch your own coin? on: May 20, 2019, 04:09:18 PM
It seems to me that most people who are well acquainted with cryptocurrency would like to create their own project and coin, as their own project = profit

You need to ask whether this will be practical or not. We have around 100 million cryptocurrency users in the world. What will happen if everyone of them creates their own cryptocurrency? Rather than increasing the number of cryptocurrencies (which is already too high in my opinion), why can't we work to improve some of the existing coins?
114  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are you dreaming to launch your own coin? on: May 19, 2019, 07:10:46 AM
If you have a good idea, then go ahead and create your own coin. But you need a lot of funds ready, for marketing and development purposes. And also, you need to build a good team, which composes of people with good reputation who will remain committed to it until the project is completed. If you go ahead without these, then your coin will end up like the thousands of dead or dormant coins which are not traded in any of the exchanges.
115  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Current bounty campaigns that can make you rich? on: May 19, 2019, 07:07:47 AM
No one can really tell. And if someone posts about a nice bounty, then many people will know, and the less chance that you will get a great percentage of the bounty pool. Find it yourself, make some research, usually those projects that conducts IEOs instead of ICOs are legitimate, and you will get a nice amount from their bounty.

Doesn't mean that the users are greedy or not ready to help. There are a lot of good projects ongoing now. But we don't know whether the bounty campaigns for these projects will be successful or not. As I have seen from the past 2-3 years, a project having solid basics can have a failed bounty campaign. A lot depends on the market situation and the dedication shown by the promoters. It is very difficult to cherry-pick a few campaigns out of the thousands which are active now. You need to make the selection yourself.
116  Economy / Economics / Re: become rich by bitcoin. on: May 19, 2019, 07:03:13 AM
Investments in traditional markets also rich some investors or  many of the investors loss money. In this sense I don't think the crypto market is so different from other markets. It is impossible to understand why some people are negatively interpreted crypto market. I think it's okay if we are only investor, if we're not involved in illegal business.

The other markets are not this volatile. Check the crypto charts during the last 18 months. It can be seen that many of the top-10 coins lost as much as 98% of their value during this period. You will not find similar assets in the stock market (among the large-cap and mid-cap stocks). At the most, the stocks can have 30% or 40% price movements during a one year period (anything above that would be exceptions).
117  Economy / Economics / Re: Russia to replace USD reserves with Bitcoin on: May 19, 2019, 06:58:53 AM
yes, in my opinion it's just fake news because it won't be possible for a country the size of Russia to replace USD reserves with bitcoin. of course if it really happened the whole world would be surprised by this and surely bitcoin would soar.

It is a fake news and I am surprised that this thread is alive after so many days. This is not just a lie, but it is a lie that even retarded people will have difficulty in believing. Forget about Russia, not even libertarian countries such as Switzerland will be ready to convert a part of their forex reserves to a volatile and decentralized asset, such as Bitcoin.

Admins, please lock this thread. No point in beating the dead horse again and again.
118  Economy / Speculation / Re: bitcoin has reached 8000$, then what? on: May 19, 2019, 06:55:04 AM
The next resistance level is going to be 9.5K - 10K, and 8,000 is not a significant milestone. I expect the 8K level to be breached anytime soon and then the values should move towards 10K. Right now it can't be predicted whether 10K can be breached or not. The chances are that it should happen by the end of this year, if we have no major exchange hacks or similar scandals.

There is no shortage of irresponsible people who gamble away their savings. Although these people constitute a minority, they tarnish the reputation of all the gamblers and the gambling industry as a whole. But responsible gamblers hold back on their spending when the exchange rate goes up. I have noticed this in 2013, and in 2017. When the prices increase, the turnover get reduced at major gambling sites.
Well to me I don't care if the market go up or not I gamble the amount I use to gamble in every other time, I am not too addicted to gambling and I have my targeted amount in my gambling scheduled which I will never exceed that amount.
That restriction or limits that you set with yourself is insane. We should gamblers know when to cut our losses and winnings and for that way to implement to us is restrict ourselves.

Insane? I don't think so. He is doing the right thing. By setting up a daily or weekly limit, he is making sure that the losses will never get out of hand. If you don't have such a threshold, then the chances are that you may get carried away during the game and will end up losing more than what you could afford. What he is doing is responsible gambling.
