1001  Other / Meta / Re: Does anyone want a "I'm in the area lets hangout board" on: November 08, 2020, 02:11:48 PM
I can't imagine there's much demand for this. Just use the meet up board if necessary. Or tinder  Grin.
1002  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why is Bitcoin dumping right now? on: November 08, 2020, 12:22:41 PM
Is it because the Trump people have given up?

Is it because the Biden people are relaxing after what they think is a win?

I had hoped Bitcoin would actually make it to $20,000 this time!

Cool

Bitcoin goes up and bitcoin goes down; you can't explain that. It's never going to keep going up forever and some sort of pullback eventually is inevitable as going up 5% a day can't be sustained forever. I still think we'll get to 20k again but might have to wait a bit. Not sure why the election effected it as neither party should effected bitcoin directly but maybe once it's settled down a bit we might see another rally.
1003  Other / Off-topic / Re: Share Good Movies Please? on: November 05, 2020, 12:10:15 PM
Hello guys, I wanted to write something few months ago when Rikafip brought my intention to this topic and then I totally forgot about this topic. So here comes my first post and humble request for membership in the gang Smiley

I must admit I have a feeling that whole new movie scene / box office has taken a big hit lately and I can't remember last time I was really exited to go to cinema. It used to be that I had a must watch new movie every month and now I can't remember when was the last time I watched a really good and memorable movie. I was a bit exited when finally Tenet hit the cinemas but it left me sort of disappointed. I mean it is not a bad movie but it is nowhere near what it could have been.

Tenet might have been a bit better had I been able to understand half of the dialogue in it. A good quarter of it was practically unintelligible to me. Reading the reviews it seems many had a problem with the audio. The blu ray is out next month so I'll just download that and use the subtitles if necessary and hopefully that will fill in the blanks.
1004  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Thinking of joining the HEX campaign? Think again. on: November 05, 2020, 08:22:43 AM
A signature campaign thread was posted just days ago; specifically, a campaign promoting the cryptocurrency "Bitcoin HEX".

If you didn't know by now, HEX is founded by one of the highly controversial(with good reason) "cRyPtO iNfLuEnCeRs" named Richard Heart.

In summary, it's pretty much just a get rich scheme to enrich the founder.

Aren't all alt coins? Can't say I've heard of this one though or think I've seen their signatures.
1005  Economy / Reputation / Re: Complain about negative feedback on: November 03, 2020, 07:05:30 PM
Have you tried to contact the person who left you it and explain the situation? As others have said though it doesn't really matter as he's not on default trust. I think in cases like these it would be helpful if a user could leave a follow up comment/give their side of the story.
I am unable to send him a pm because of my level as a newbie. I wished I could.

I whitelisted you so maybe you can PM him now but I'll PM him with a link to this thread.

Please remove your old bump when you make a new one. Thanks.

According to bpip he is on DT2, so his feedback is visible, I can see it too.

Shows as +0 / =0 / -0 to me.

1009  Other / Meta / Re: Log in, registering, and understanding this forum process on: November 03, 2020, 11:12:20 AM
I have tried unsuccessfully for the last half hour to register, login, locate the Electrum feed, and to post because the loser(s) that run this forum are too busy jerking off to fix it.

Hey! Are you the guy that keeps emailing me claiming he has a video or me jacking it in front of my computer? I sent you bitcoins already! I thought we had a deal! Maybe they got theymos as well?  Undecided

By the way, I whitelisted you so you should be able to post easier but is the childishness necessary? The posting controls are there to try stop spam.

It fails to post when you click post, instead sending it to draft.

Never had that happen before, and never heard of that issue. So can't comment on that.

It will be the newbie posting restrictions. You have to wait 6 minutes before you post or whatever and logging in and attempting to post reset the counter. It can be annoying but it's probably something most of us have long forgotten about now.
1010  Other / Meta / Re: Why aren't avatar ad clickable? on: November 03, 2020, 10:33:37 AM

Yeah or it'll be in their personal message (seen below the Avatar).

It's just a different desugn feature the forum Software doesn't implement. I doubt it was created for ads exactly in the original smf code...

So far the forums (not just SMF-based) I visit never had clickable avatars. My guess is about the norm of associating clickable usernames with the avatar, instead of making both of them.

I've used forum's before where clicking the avatar is like clicking the username and it takes you to their profile. Whilst it makes sense from an advertisers perspective I doubt it's something theymos will do. Maybe they Personal Text could be hyperlinked as that could be useful, or maybe it could be a paid perk of one of the new donator ranks I've proposed before.
1011  Other / Meta / Re: Why aren't avatar ad clickable? on: November 02, 2020, 10:09:04 PM
You could put the link in the website field and it will show up as a globe under your avatar and on your profile. You could direct people to it via the personal text. Maybe the personal text could be clickable but most people just use their signatures for that.
1012  Other / Meta / Re: Account VivGaming Banned. Mod Please Help on: October 31, 2020, 04:53:43 PM
What I'm curious about is whether merits will be removed too to if an account is nuked. I only know that all posts are deleted.

In normal conditions, if a post has merit and it gets deleted, the merit is not deleted and it stays. I am not sure what happens when the account is nuked, but i think the merits should remain as per the above observation.

Meris are not removed once nuked. The only way they could be is if an admin manually removed them but that's probably a rarity.
1013  Other / Meta / Re: Account VivGaming Banned. Mod Please Help on: October 30, 2020, 09:44:37 AM
I removed the ban. I can't restore your posts though.
1014  Other / Meta / Re: About Create New Bitcointalk ID. Tag DT/Modaretor on: October 28, 2020, 08:47:50 AM
Theymos isn't going to do this and I don't think he should either. People should be able to freely create an account if they wish and charging people is only going to turn people away. However, I wouldn't be against people being able to buy new donator ranks which give you the benefits of certain higher accounts like Copper Memberships do.
1015  Other / Meta / Re: Account VivGaming Banned. Mod Please Help on: October 26, 2020, 08:44:32 AM
I can't see any reports in the queue against you, nor does there seem to be any reported messages so not sure what the nuke was for. Try contact theymos to look into it. He can restore your posts if need be.
theyms seems not responsive. maybe he got a lot of things to deal with. I would appreciate if you take my case and handle it. or you at least ping theymos. he might notice you better.

I asked about it in the staff board. I'll PM theymos about it if nobody can remember issuing it.
1016  Other / Meta / Re: Question about being banned... on: October 25, 2020, 03:31:45 PM
It seems you were banned for ban evasion.

1018  Other / Meta / Re: Russian Child Board under Archival on: October 23, 2020, 01:48:22 PM
It's probably either just an old board that was archived or some sort of Russian trashcan as tranthidung  said.
1019  Other / Meta / Re: Is the forum lagging today? on: October 22, 2020, 05:36:20 PM
It's been fine for me but maybe the forum is under a bit more traffic than usual with bitcoin going over £10k and the Paypal announcement.
1020  Other / Meta / Re: Where is my merits? on: October 22, 2020, 04:50:46 PM
You've already managed to get seven somehow so it can't be that hard. I'd just start again with a new account if I was you seeing as you have several negative feedbacks. Just learn from your mistakes this time.
