221  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: June 27, 2023, 11:57:09 AM
I've spoke to jeremypwr about sponsoring the pool again so hopefully we will hear something back soon so I can get the sign-up thread up and running.

Does anyone have any opinions on whether we should stick with top 20 payouts or maybe just do 10-15 max? Obviously it's nice for more people to win something but the 10+ places are often just your money back or a little bit more. Bigger prizes for the top ten also makes it more exciting. With the freebets for each weekly round winner there's still always something to play for anyway.

224  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Jake Paul Vs Nate Diaz boxing Aug 5th on Dazn PPV on: June 16, 2023, 05:20:46 PM
The news today is that Nate Diaz was pushing hard for a 10 round fight and finally Jake said OK.  Then Nate reversed his position and says he's fine with a shorter fight.  Not sure what the point of this was, but it seems to me like they rushed into the announcement a little bit and they're still trying to get the details worked out.  I haven't changed my mind though after seeing more footage of Nate boxing.  I think Jake will win and Nate will end the night covered in blood.  If they met outside of a boxing ring though, Nate would choke Jake out in less than a minute and I'd put money on that.

Yeah, don't think either of them are ready for a 10+ rounder yet. I'm not sure that would be in the favour of Diaz either. I don't know whether it would go the distance but I don't think Diaz would win it on points anyway. I'm sure he'll give it a good go but without being able to rely on his MMA skills I think Jake should win this fairly comfortably.

I'm hoping this fight ultimately sets up a fight with Connor. He's probably done in the UFC now. Looks like Dana can't even keep track of him or get him into the ring anytime soon. He still hasn't entered the USADA pool so he won't even be able to fight this year if he doesn't start testing soon. He's also just been accused of another rape in the US. Could just be a shake-down but he should know better by now.

Looks like KSI is probably going to be fighting Tommy Fury soon as well. That should be interesting, especially if he beats Tommy. I don't think he will though. Probably would be the same result as Jake's fight.

They're just words and only you can let them effect or hurt you. Just ignore anything you deem offensive.

Does this include someone giving a death threat or wishing death of someone on the forum?

No. Threatening someone with violence or death is a crime and obviously crosses a line. Pretty much anything else is fine unless you're just trying to troll by being purposely disruptive.

232  Other / Meta / Re: Monthly Report Statistics on: June 06, 2023, 10:49:08 AM
Period Apr 20 - May 20. In this period, 2025 reports handled as good, 121 handled as bad, 150 unhandled.

2000 sent reports per month. It's even worse than I expected. 2000 reports for 167,000 posts published during the same period on the forum. I wonder whether the quality of posts on the forum has increased dramatically, or whether reporting itself has finally died as an activity. Something tells me it's the second option.

People are just reporting less and less. There's nothing in it for most people and it's time consuming and a never ending amount of stuff to report so most people just don't bother or quickly grow tired of it. That's why I think theymos should implement something like  reporting badges with some small perks so there's at least some incentive.

All payments should have been sent to all those that sent me an address.

Thanks for playing and don't forget to send jeremypwr and Sportsbet some love. Without their sponsorship this pool would be no where near as fun and we'd just be playing for the peanut entry fees  Cheesy. Hopefully the pool will continue to grow year on year as it had done so far.

I'll send payments out over the weekend. Think I've got everyone's addresses now except for fortebet, saint-loup, iluckyguy, ltu-btc, ulven.

Congrats to all winners!

Did you get your freebet from jeremypwr?

Should I send my address through DM? I would prefer not use the one in my profile since I don't know if I have their private keys and I sent the fee from an exchange, therefore if you just send it back I won't receive it.

Also this was a good season for a first competition, I made some last minutes changes in my predictions that cost me the 3rd place and took me some time to get some good strategy for the exact scores, but a top 5 is more than good.

Waiting for the next season.

As above, please pm your addresses.

239  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Basic help using Abra (beginner!) on: May 26, 2023, 02:13:49 PM
OMG I was initially asking for some help from abra users, but it is totally going somewhere else. I guess I won't update about my situation any more. If the administrator can please delete this whole thread? Thank you.

You can lock it yourself at the bottom left, but I'm really not sure why you're disregarding everything people are saying. It's really not normal for a person - a friend or otherwise - to insist another person who isn't even into crytpo receives money in such an obscure way. You seem to be weirdly ok to go out of your way for this money when any normal person would just say no, send it to me via paypal, bank transfer, cashapp or whatever other service you normally use.

According to the customer service support: USDT deposits require a minimum of 1000 USDT. A deposit of 1000 USDT or higher will reflect in the wallet but anything less will remain on the blockchain and will not reflect in the wallet until the minimum of 1000 USDT is reached.
It's a scam! Would you accept this from your bank? "Your salary is too low to reflect on your balance"?

She, though, was kind enough to offer to attempt a manual recovery of my amount of less than 1000, which I accepted, and the amount is now showing in my wallet!
Lol. Waiting for the next trick.

I am now working on the 2nd part of my problem: withdraw it to my bank account with no minimum amount. I think I can do it with an ACH transfer (not requiring a minimum amount), but this option is not showing in my app yet (only the wire transfer - involving a minimum of 5000 USDT - is offered) I believe this is because they require a verification by Prime Trust first. I contacted the customer service again so I can go through that verification process. Hopefully that is the solution.
Let me guess: you can't withdraw the USDT to a normal address under your control.

It's either a scam or the OP is part of the scam and is going to go through it all and they say hey look: it was a success, it wasn't a scam at all in the hopes he can get other people to fall for it or then use this thread as some sort of proof of the legitimacy trying to ensnare others. I'm really not sure why he would sign up here asking for advice then when everyone tells him it's almost certainly a scam he just goes ahead and does it anyway. It's now sounding more like one of those threads where the scammer post a thread about their own service asking if it's legit or has anyone used it just to draw attention to it.
