1001  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Does BITCOIN make a person's life better !? on: March 20, 2021, 08:19:46 PM
If you look thoroughly, then BITCOIN is just money, but like money, can it improve the world around, and humanity as a whole !?
I don’t think “good” and “BITCOIN” are the same thing, most likely the opposite.
Because of money, a person becomes weaker, he does not need to do something, to develop, because money will do it for him.
Bitcoin is a thing that prolly helps people who are in need of money, so logically speaking, bitcoin does help those people and make their life easier. It will always depend on the person on how he will use that money, it doesn't mean that money will take over his life just because he has a lot of it. It's kinda weird that bitcoin can make people weak, while it makes some people happy because of the profit they are gaining to it.
To be honest, Bitcoin doesn't help people who need money it only help people that embrace its technology and make use of it to the betterment of their life. There's alot of people on the street who are in need of money and have hear about Bitcoin didn't invest in it.
1002  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why publicise your wallet address on: March 19, 2021, 07:06:48 PM
People have a different reason for publicizing their wallet address through their profile, I think the number reason is for payment receiving on the forum cause most of the wallet is already staked on the forum and I don't think there will be any danger though cause most of the wallet owner move their coin asap but there's still a chance for vulnerability cause using a single wallet than 3 times is not advisable.
1003  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Sources of information on: March 19, 2021, 06:45:27 PM
I just roam around some crypto news I find online and I just do not stick into just one source for I have this kind of personality that I am not that contented nor convince having just one resource of information so I tend to verify it into other sources possible to support what I have read and clarify things out. I do also roam around different local and international news for they might be having an impact on how things work on the market so I keep myself updated into different sorts of news just to keep myself knowledgeable on how things are going around me. I do also use this forum of course to gather information from fellow users that I find helpful as well.
That is the better way because it helps you sift out the truth from the sensational lies, contrary to OP saying that some Twitter account is not a good sources of information, not all Twitter accounts is a bad source of information, in this day and age use everything that you can get your hands on, take Elon's twitter, if you try to analyze his tweets which definitely can move markets, you can gain some good information.
Twitter is a good source of information what important is how profound the source the influencer the market and using everything we get our hands on can be too complex it maybe hard to make a trading decision.
I use coin compare live USDT trading to make decision base on the exchange experience dump in price before the exchange I use to trade.
1004  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Altcoins to invest in right now on: March 19, 2021, 05:39:35 PM
With the news of the new integration of Grayscale investment of some new altcoin which are Basic Attention Token, Chainlink, Filecoin and Livepeer. I believe these are the best altcoin to invest in right now.
1005  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What Would Binance List Next? on: March 19, 2021, 03:55:35 PM
It hard to know the coin Binance will list unless the token that gain their listing through voting but instead chasing after the next Binance listing why dont you invest on coins which Grayscale just added to their investment trust cause more institutional investors will invest in the altcoin.
1006  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Binance smart chain is centralized ? on: March 19, 2021, 12:31:16 PM
Yes, Binance smart chain is a centralized project but if you read through their main site they will claim it a decentralized project because it operates using Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) but it nothing like Ethereum. However, Binance we're more after TPS and cross chains transfer.
Most crypto investors are after the BSC because of that and the profit of earn free coin.
Note : every project created by Binance are centralized

1009  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Does Trading have an advantage over investing?? on: March 17, 2021, 11:43:47 AM
Actually investing or trading are both profitable, but the problem is, does someone have enough time and ability? because if one does not have much time and does not understand analysis then investing is better than trading, and vice versa if one has a lot of time and is knowledgeable about trading analysis, then trading can be a good choice.
Having enough time, ability and knowledge to analyze the market possible trend is still incomplete as crypto trading and investment is a concern if the capital is not enough to trade or invest successfully.
1010  Economy / Reputation / Re: Freebitco.in openly posting user data on: March 16, 2021, 02:23:26 PM
All using a VPN does is hide who you are, it does not hide that fact that you are using a VPN.
Moreover, your browser fingerprint can still be matched to your previously-tracked information... and, boom! Nice VPN, Steve Macdonald!

Staying private online requires multiple steps - it's not just a single point of failure, it's a damned minefield.
Some people never understand browsing privately requires more than just using a good VPN (WebRTC IP handling policy etc need to be put in check) but what I understand is that is the information of the user provided not against the doxing rules?

1011  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: PoW and PoS; Pros and Cons on: March 15, 2021, 02:18:50 PM
Proof of work and proof of stock are two common methods in crypto currencies. Which mechanism do you think is better? Proof of work in coins like Bitcoin or proof of stock in coins like Polkadot?
I assume you were trying to say Proof of Stake here and not "proof of stock". I am not that familiar with Polkadot, but I am quite certain that it doesn't use a standard PoS consensus mechanism, but nevermind. You made a few errors in your comparisons when you refer to Proof of Work as "Proof work" or Proof of Stake as "Proof Stake". Maybe you can correct that to make it a tick better.
The network uses by Polkadot is the nominated proof-of-stake (NPoS) not Proof of stake and it currently uses Binance Smart Chain.
1012  Economy / Economics / Re: Did tesla's $1.5 billion bitcoin purchase negatively affect their stock price on: March 13, 2021, 01:44:33 PM
Did tesla's bitcoin investment negatively affect its stock price? Yes, it did.
Despite the fact that cryptocurrency and clean-oriented energy companies are an innovation that will do well in the future a lot of people criticized Tesla billion dollars investment in Bitcoin and I believe may lead to the exit of some TSLA investors who are antiBitcoin.

1013  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Jake Paul vs Ben Askren on April 17 on: March 12, 2021, 11:08:08 PM
~
they need something to discuss about this fight to sell this to the public. so i guess, dana white betting 1M dollars on Ben will create some interest from boxing fans. because we know, this match will not be a hit in the boxing community if there is no controversial issues or topics to talk about.
i bet, they are crossing their fingers not to cancel this bout for some financial reasons.
Dana White is not promoting the fight a Ben Askren already retired and Dana White has nothing to do with the event as it is an exhibition bout. Jake Paul usually attracts huge crowds and that is the reason he picked Ben Askren because he also promotes the fight well and we can see the battle in social media and these are done to create interest.
Yes,  Ben Askren is retired but you don't understand what he said cause he was talking about Dana White's promise to bet $1 dollars on Ben Askren for the upcoming fight against Jake Paul.
Him betting $1M on the mean he indirectly promotes the fight.
1014  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How will Quantum computing affect Bitcoin? on: March 04, 2021, 05:19:24 PM
It is not difficult to solve this issue for the transactions in the future but those with exposed public keys will inevitably be vulnerable still.
I understand that reusing the same wallet address is not advisable when security is the top priority, the last time I read public can be share online but what you just said now makes me surprise and curious what you really mean. The question is why would people with exposed public keys be vulnerable?
1015  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Joe Biden is President of the United States of America on: March 04, 2021, 04:13:45 PM
There's something bothering my mind guys about Joe Biden's presidentship and I will be happy if someone can explain it to me better. I saw a video on Instagram today showing the GOYA CEO (Robert Unanue) saying in his opinion Donald Trump is the real, "legitimate, and still actual President of United State"
Why did he said so?

Basically, the answer is that because the election was done using cyber-warfare from outside the USA, we were at war during the election. The military is in control, without the president, because that it was an election war. They (the military) have until the end of this month to decide to let Biden remain, or to redo the vote process. What will happen if they don't decide, remains to be seen.

Cool
Thanks for your respond and this does explained the reason behind his statement about Trump to still the President of the United State but the election done using outside US cyber-ware and the military etc or not Trump still dont have the capacity to win that election from my own view.

1017  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Help with Bitcoin.org iOS Wallet on: March 03, 2021, 09:36:09 PM
Bitcoin.org or Ver Bitcoin wallet is one of the worse cryptocurrency wallet in town and from what I saw here the transaction sent to the wallet address 33MZa5sEui8jj4SPCZWqA8CKsx3QB43833 was delivered but I don't the reason why it not showing on your end and the chance thing you can do is to import the wallet in electrum as you have been advised.
1018  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Trying to get my first multi crypto wallet on: March 03, 2021, 09:20:26 PM
I guess, in general, it would be better to pick a community-vetted open source wallet... Do your own research: it's not because it's in the play store or in apple's store that it's safe!!! There are several wallets, for example f-r-e-e-w-a-l-l-e-t, that are rumoured to pay people for good reviews in google and apple's store, but still rob you blind if you use them.
That is just it, playstores are not just the right place to download wallet, aside what you comment about playstores, also there are hundreds of fake wallets on playstores, very possible for a new person that do not know about crypto yet to download a fake one from playstores.
Yes, I dont know how google does their reviews before adding an APP to the play store but there's a rumor that they are doing the needed research about the APP they integrated on their platform and their main procedure is to check if it is virus-free.

There's open source vs closed source, but just as important are custodial vs non-custodial wallets (tip: if you have the choice, pick the non-custodial wallet)
This is a good advice, but to include, it will be good to also not download any noncustodial wallet that will request for email, there are many noncustodial wallets these days that are requiring for email, they should not be used for privacy purposes.
There's no reason to use any custodial wallet that requires email.

1019  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Crypto Exchanges That Successfully Recovered Bitcointalk Users Funds on: March 03, 2021, 08:43:44 PM
I like this topic, but it should still be emphasized that not your key not your coin
It clear that any coin keep on the custodial wallet is indirectly not our coins but the exchange that choose not to give back the coins mistakenly sent to the wrong address are using that strategy to steal from the legitimate owner and people should stay away from this kind of exchange site.
1020  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: metamask question on: February 27, 2021, 10:13:10 PM
I transferred eth to metamask then converted it to dai. Now I need to send the dai to kucoin. Dai is listed on kucoin, but I'm wondering if I'm allowed to send dai or I can only send and receive eth? It's a stupid question but I don't want to lose the dai if that's the case. Thanks!
You wondering you may lose the token since it wasn't Ethereum that you want to send. I believe the problem was you not knowing that DAI was a token issued on the Ethereum blockchain which some people called ERC20 token and there's no problem in you send the DAI to the exact ERC20 deposit address giving to you by Kucoin exchange.
