I tried switching to port 8080 and still cant connect.

I have no idea whats happening but I cant connect any which way, so I have to switch for now.

I cant connect new miners, already connected ones are hashing fine...

I guess the botnets are back?
1004  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN][LTC][Pool][PPLNS] [ Stratum ] give-me-ltc.com 2% FEE [10 block confirms!] on: May 08, 2013, 06:48:37 AM
OK thanks for the updates! Love this pool, its the best out there in my opinion!
1005  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: GUIMiner-scrypt: A GUIMiner fork for mining scrypt chains on: May 08, 2013, 06:47:34 AM
Taco, due to the seemingly never-ending DDOS attacks on give-me-ltc.com and wemineltc.com (two of the best if not the two best pools), would you consider adding failover as an option for GUIMiner-scrypt?

The way I have my pools set up, they all have the same worker names and passwords on each pool, so the only field I would need to complete would be the site address and port for each of the 3 pools I would use.

I dont know how feasible this is, but I think it would be a great addition.

Also I dont know if I have the latest version, but if you havent replaced the Bitcoin icon with a Litecoin icon, consider doing so!
1006  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Next LTC Difficulty Jump :-( on: May 07, 2013, 10:36:04 PM
Looks like back to around 550-600+ (35%+ jump) and the price has been stuck in the mud around $3 this week.  Sad  Not that Im selling.

My 5000 kh/s is only going to be generating around $600 profit a month (~8 LTC/day), but Im a big believer in BTC/LTC long term so I will stick with it.

The good news is, when it jumps a lot of people may quit mining LTC and go for other alt coins, but still, this next jump is going to be brutal.

I guess it gives us a while to mine some cheap coins before they get listed on Gox, at which point the price - and difficulty - will just go insane.
1007  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: Buying ripples again on: May 07, 2013, 10:29:42 PM
Why would you bother, do you really want to get left holding the bag when it collapses?
1008  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: BFL is shipping on: May 07, 2013, 10:28:42 PM

Delivery depends on when you ordered. Best-case scenario is they start shipping mid-May. They are estimated to have about 20,000 paid non-cancelled orders. If we suppose a mean of 2 pieces per real order, that's 40,000 pieces total. They have publicly claimed their production line can produce 400 pieces per day, 5 days a week, so 2000 pieces per week. Let's take that on "faith" and assume it will take them 20 weeks to clear the backlog. So an order placed today would ship in October at the earliest. But that's the best-case scenario.

People thinking about ordering now need to read this part several times over. They arent even close to manufacturing 400 a week yet, that was purely speculation on their part, not likely an accurate estimate.
1009  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN][LTC][Pool][PPLNS] [ Stratum ] give-me-ltc.com 2% FEE [10 block confirms!] on: May 07, 2013, 09:41:19 PM
This is getting ridiculous, I mean its supposed to be a professional pool and it cant even stay up for 24 hours straight, major problem.

It looks like its still accepting shares though, they had better be credited...
1010  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Will Mining fee's keep mining alive? on: May 07, 2013, 09:34:30 PM
Ah, I see, Im just really curious about give-me-ltc and wemine ltc, as those are my main pools and I know wemineltc is having financial issues covering the transaction fees just from paying their own miners, so Im assuming there is no way they distribute any collected fees.
1011  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BFL 6 May 2013 ASIC Update on: May 07, 2013, 09:30:57 PM
How are they handling the power supply issue for the 60gh units? I dont think a power brick is gonna work for 300w but they announce anything yet?
1012  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 7970 hash rate reduced when 2nd card enabled on: May 07, 2013, 09:26:19 PM
Intensity 13 sounds low, but Indeed it sounds like some issue with power draw at the PCIe slot... so maybe mobo issue.

Sounds fairly trivial in the big scheme of things, I dont lose sleep over these little issues its not worth it...
1013  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: I want to take BFL auto hosting option on: May 07, 2013, 09:24:01 PM
Id highly recommend against this, for a variety of reasons...
1014  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Order now BFL 50 Ghash/s ASIC. Does it make sense? on: May 07, 2013, 09:21:48 PM
Meh, wait for the 2nd generation ASICs to come out at this point... train already left for 1st gen
1015  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Building 4x 7970 rig and having heat issues. on: May 07, 2013, 09:20:04 PM
Anything up to and around 90c is fine for a GPU. Do your homework. People are paranoid but trust me, these wont be worth $20 in 5 years so they dont need to be run at some super low temp like 70c.

Most cards will automatically throttle at 100c or so thats the real upper limit...
1016  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Question about pooled mining and transaction fees on: May 07, 2013, 07:46:27 PM
Im curious which pools keep the tx fees and which distribute them, also for LTC Im curious about the same question as there is a .1 fee for ALL transactions.
1017  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Will Mining fee's keep mining alive? on: May 07, 2013, 07:43:38 PM
In terms of pooled mining, where do the transaction fees go now? Operators keep them or they are part of the shares?
1018  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Estimated hashrate of the NSA? on: May 07, 2013, 07:38:24 PM
There is already a thread on this where most relevant questions were discussed.

Cliffnotes: The NSA has a lot more important shit to worry about than a cryptocoin with 1B market cap.

1019  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Mining on Next Generation Consoles? on: May 07, 2013, 07:35:22 PM
You will be able to mod the firmware to mine scrypt with it.

But it wont ever be usable as a gaming console then...
1020  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: BFL listed as shipping?! on: May 07, 2013, 07:25:52 PM
I tend to agree, "Now Shipping" implies you could get one to your door next week.

"Now Shipping" usually doesnt imply a 6 month backlog of orders yet to be filled.

I agree, its shady as hell.
