10121  Other / Ivory Tower / Re: Is Trump right about blaming China for Covid19? on: October 03, 2020, 11:11:19 AM
usually something is only worthy of action if it causes death. china reacted before anyone died.
they didnt just say 'oh its the flu, dont worry some people die of it'. they actually realised that the symptomology was worse then 'the flu' they identified that it is a new varient they reported it and they sealed off the wetmarket. all before the first person died.

however america was calling it just a flu and even as people died they said oh well its the flu. its why idiots on this very forum still think 'its just a flu' because its what they heard from trump back in january/february/march
..
here is some facts for the trump fanatics/covid deniers
there are ~6100 hospitals in america and normal flu last year had 22k deaths which is less than 4 deaths per hospital per year. chance of 4 people dying at same time is minimal
so when 4 people turn up at same time, gasping for air.. something is up.
when more then 4 people turn up. that is a sign something is not right.

so if your towns hospital has had more then 4 people die. just think about it. and realise its not just 'the flu'

if you want to rebutt that only 200k die so its only 10x worse then the flu.. no
200k is only 7month tally with 6months of surpressing the spread. meaning if it was a normal like for like scenario with no lockdown(like other years) there would be and still can be many more deaths.
looking at covid deaths of april. (during lockdown) deaths count was over 20k in just 14 days. yep even with the spread being surpressed the amounts dying of covid surpassed flu deaths for a year. in just 14 days

so with china, when a person coming in with severe symptoms. and then same week half a dozen. then next week 20+ they knew it wasnt 'the flu' and that was before anyone died. and that was before janary3st. just 14 days after patient zero. so yea china reacted quickly. america didnt

when watching trump get off the helicopter, he was not alone. he had a team of people with him. sealed in the helicopter cabin.

even if trump is the leader i find it stupid for anyone to agree to sit inside a sealed cabin with someone that not only has covid, but is symptomatic.
they should have got their own transport an travelled separately.

kinda shows how lax they are about precautions. atleast travelling by car they can open a window and stick their head out
10123  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Trump has Coronavirus :( on: October 02, 2020, 10:26:07 PM
show me how a number of like 10% of votes(~13million) have ever been frauded
show me how any of what you say could amount to enough fraud to be a big deal sufficient enough to make trump declare the election null and void

..
anyway on other thoughts. unrelated to a certain fanatic wanting trump to stay in office due to exagerated stupidity
im just going to wait to see the other trump fanatics to suddenly claim how they had some intimate meet with trump and they are the cause of his illness and want to sell a book about their story..
you know the usual fanatics that have no grasp of reality but pretend that if they act like they are inlove with trump they will become rich/famous too

maybe one day they will realise they win no prises by acting so admiring to trump

i do not wish and fatal or critical harm to anyone. but i do hope trump treats this experience he is going through as a wake up call to change his ways and not be an idiot about things that can affect people

He may not have the authority, but that's not stopped him trying things before. If he thinks he's going to lose - and he's already lined up 'fraudulent' postal votes as an excuse ...
He actually didn't 'line up fraudulent postal votes..."

The Democrats are doing that.

And he's not the only one reporting it.

trump googled examples of people finding a dozen pieces of paper.. and exaggerated it into a big opposition ploy of millions of vote miscounts that can affect the tally of ~130mill votes
sorry but a couple dozen lost pieces of paper does not amount to a election fruad
https://www.heritage.org/voterfraud

when 130m vote and you show me 1300 cases.. thats not even a 1%.. heck not even 0.1% nor 0.01% .. but its 0.001%

so if trump wants to think the election can be rigged becasue of a 0.001% sway in count.. then that is a massive exaggeration

if there was a 10% fraud.. he'd have a point. but finger pointing 0.001% is 10,000x exaggeration of the impact voter fraud has
Read the facts and understand before blabbing garbage. The convictions are NOT typically for single vote frauds.

This resulted in hundreds of fraudulent signatures.

read the actual facts. 'hundreds' a few thousand is not and no were near millions.
i truly understand and recognise your loyalty to trump. i get it. but. take off the loyal red hat and actually think like a human.
you are trying to defend trumps exagerations to such an extent that you are starting to look foolish.
if you atleast put a brave face on it and said. 'yea the numbers are not enough to actually affect the final tally. but it happens'. fair enough. but you are not saying such. instead your trying to make it sound like voter fraud is soo rife that it can change the balance of an election result.. and your saying that purely because thats trumps thoughts.
seems when it comes to trump you turn off your own independant mind and just go full trump repeat
try to tone down your trump obedience. its not going to win you any prizes
10125  Other / Politics & Society / Re: California to consider slavery reparations after landmark law passed on: October 02, 2020, 05:42:45 PM
issues i see
1. proving the decendants
2. proving the original slave was not compensated when they were freed
after all having kids while  slave was not a massive thing to happen. so the decendants would usually have been birthed after the slave was set free and probably compensated.

yes there were many cases where decendants were the result of master/slave rape and yes that should be compensated. but trying to gather evidence from over 100 years ago of what actually happened and if the slave was previously compensated fairly. makes this new policy hard to determine
things like DNA tests of the white decendants of the original master to compare lineages may need to be involved.

..
for the non master/slave rape situations, but for the unfair freedom compensation situations. this is hard to prove. masters could have wrote they paid x and only paid 0.x but legally the only proof is of x being paid.
..
i dont think that the policy will just pay out all claims just because they say they are the great grandchild. it wont be that simple

oh jetcash.. thinking facemasks and sanitisers increase infections..
just because you ate some mud as a kid to increase your gut biome. does not make you then immortal against all bacteria.

if you had sars 2002 does not make you immortal to all sars forever
yea you will be ok from the small varient of 2003-12
but some varients become varients by infecting animals varying in a different direction in the animals for yers and then when reintroduced to humans again a decade later. that varient is nothing like the varient the humans have been exposed to.. which is why its described as a novel (new varient) virus

as for being an idiot to think no one under 60 gets sick. thats wrong.
also thinking no one under 60 can be mild and then pass it onto someone over 60. wrong again
and the funnier thing is you admit your ~70 and yet you try to pretend that because a teens risk is low. you are safe.. sorry but your not a teen your ~70
accept the risks to you and stop sticking head in the sand thinking ignorance to a problem will be your shield to the problem

you are like them old guys that think because a teenager is a virgin and not had sex to get an STD. you then assume this is evidence that you at 70 can happily have sex with other old people and say your free of STD because the risk of STD in teens is low.
sorry but that kind of mindset has no logic. and i hope one day you see the stupidity in that mindset

He is now in quarantine, I wonder how would this affect his presidential candidacy.

1. sympathy vote
2. bidens team door knocking peoples homes would annoy people and not want to vote. im in the UK and whenever i get some over enthusiastic canditates groupie knocking on my door promoting his leader. it made me want to think why dont they just use the time/resources to fix the world. if a candidate actually has a good action plan he wont need to canvas the neighbourhoods.
by canvasing neighbourhoods is like showing you have not got a good action plan that speaks for itself. so you need groupies to over promise/over promote it door by door

so with trump held up at home for a week or 2 atleast. and biden annoying suburbs. it can actually work in trumps favour

but with that said. trump shouldnt get through the elections. he had his chance. and wasted 4 years just beating his chest to make himself look good. while making other people miserable.
time to let someone else have a chance
10130  Other / Serious discussion / Re: Anyone else feels that US didn't take COVID-19 serious enough? on: October 02, 2020, 03:54:59 PM
I think the government is taking the pandemic serious,

False, I will cite some articles regarding the President spreading solutions on how to fight COVID 19;

if you treat trump as 'the government' then that is a flaw. trump is the entertaining puppet of a tv drama.
the actual government funded research and actually organised things. trumps actions is just to go on TV make a few rants. and when the real government do good things he takes the praise and says he done it. and when things go bad he blames other people

WHO/china did not organise the repatriation flights. on the 3rd of february the US state department said 'people staying in china should prepare themselves by stocking up on food' after only repatriating ~200 people from wuhan and then quarenting them. .. but then after 3rd of february once trump announced 'leave no one behind' the policy changed and more people evacuated but this time with no quarentine

once you separate the media presence of puppet speakers from actual government actions. you start to see that the flaws lay in how media presented covid via the puppets infront of tv cameras, that twisted the actual research into sloppy puppet opinions. which then make the puppets listen to media and then start changing policy to meet what media think the people want to hear
10131  Other / Ivory Tower / Re: Is Google different now? on: October 02, 2020, 03:35:00 PM
another issue with google is. they know if they gave you the correct answer upfront. you will only click on one link. meaning they only get 1click revenue per search. so obviously by filling the search results with similar results meaning you have to click through 3-5 results to get the thing you want. well they now increased their click revenue by 3-5x. its simple business strategy

go to a car sales room and tell them you want a certain car. many will show you other options(upsells) first because they know if they only show you the thing you want and only the thing you want. then they wont get any extra from you

..
google used to just show you the links that fit the search. now you get the first half of results page as a wiki paragraph describing the search term. then the wiki links associated. then some associated image searches. then some news items... then 'what people ask for' then the sponsored results.. and finally the actual results

while writing this i just wrote 'president' and had to scroll down several 'feature snippets' before i got to the actual results.
this is all in the hope people click more then once per result
10132  Other / Meta / Re: The implications of using another user system to login account. on: October 02, 2020, 03:22:12 PM
1. having bitcointalk itself vet which system is using what login, can cause negative user experience. EG 'detecting your device' and only letting you log in from that single device will actually cause more issues for people that have multiple devices/privacy guards. so it then becomes the users own requirement to protect themselves.
if you are using someone elses device its upto YOU to protect yourself. if someone else gets your login. then its YOUR fault. so limit using other peoples devices. or ensure you delete history/cookies after use.
year ago i thought a possible thing BCT could have used was to register someones public key as their login and people would write a unique message signed by that key where the signature was the password. that way the user can keep the private key safe and other users wont be able to log in after a session expiry because it would require a new unique signature/password.

but the ease of having a device/app that can work separately from the login device but able to communicate the signature to the login device. is not mainstream.

so for now although there are methods to add layers of extra precaution. (yubikey and such) its not something people normally have and would not be something that can be just implemented overnight for free. so its upto the users to protect themselves and think smart when using other peoples devices

2. if its a copy/paste of a whole article or even sentances within the article verbatim then its definetly not unique thinking. its just lazyness.
if its copy/paste of article or sentance within. where the final destination is of a legal/political/public concern that affects/achieves the posters fame/income/stature in the community. then its plagiarism

when a no-body copies a script from another source and it affects no one and has no impact. screaming plagiarism is just a waste of time. but when that copied script can cause affects to wide community. then that person needs to explain what they are posting. and source so that people can check the source and ensure its not taken out of context to cause the reverse affect the original source intended, and also realise the secondary poster is not the source/scholar they pretend to be
10133  Other / Serious discussion / Re: Testing a vaccine against a low risk virus. on: September 29, 2020, 03:35:54 PM
if boris wanted to push a untested vaccine to save him some treasury money. he would have done it in april
the reason it was not released in april-june is because they went through phase 1 tests. then it again wasnt released in july-october because of phase2 and now phase 3 tests.. so that instantly debunks your 'inadequately tested vaccine' theory

the reason why they are doing tests is because they are testing people.
the only reason why phase1,2,3 happen in rapid succession is because instead of testing for 3months and then messing around for 6 months having meetings about checking reports and questioning participants. is because they instead kept in contact with participants DURING the phases. meaning that with regular checking within phases and efficient reporting in days instead of months. they could move onto the next stage

meaning people are tested and they are checked on regularly throughout the tests, rather than waiting till the end and then messing around for months

it seems your misinformation thinks no one is being checked on and tested.. which is a failure on your part to actually seek information. because in your view 'you had enough' .. maybe if you stopped getting your info from scammy culty conspiracy sites you would not be bored of the misinformation. by actually researching proper sources you would have got proper information.
10134  Other / Off-topic / Re: Liquidity Horizons blockchain on: September 27, 2020, 10:49:01 PM
if you want to 'peg to land' then you need to partner with a land registry agency.
dont even bother advertising a crapcoin ICO unless you can back up your authenticity to actually manage land registry

in court when there is a land dispute they check the registry authority.
(same goes for other collateral like car ownership and other things)
if your not part of it your blockchain becomes as useless as a forged photoshopped car pinkslip.
10135  Other / Serious discussion / Re: Testing a vaccine against a low risk virus. on: September 27, 2020, 10:42:52 PM
there is a step by step process
i shown you the studies that show that centrifuges are used in the process i shown you that it passed the koch rivers and bell.. as both of those were your requirements.
i even shown you the studies that show the specimen both as a chemical study and a microscope study. i also shown you the studies on the blood mucus and even lung fluids. heck even studies on the xrays and MRI. then there are examples of doctors reports showing the symptomology.. and i even asked you to show me where does it say anything to do with anything else but the known symptomology linked to covid.

but even after many months of linking you many things. you become ignorant and forgetful and then say 'show me the proof' again, hoping that when i stop retracing the evidence over and over again you can then falsely pretend there is no evidence because of the one or two times i give up linking you it.

that is your ignorance problem. the evidence exists, its out there. your unwillingness to review it is on you. no one else

so do yourself one favour. even admit to yourself you are willing to learn about the virus and dedicate your concentration span to be willing to learn. or. continue not wanting to learn about the virus and find a new topic to distract yourself.

in short. if you dont want to learn. dont ask about a subject you have no intent on being involved in
10136  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Whatever Happened to Proof of Keys? on: September 27, 2020, 12:48:26 PM
i personally never store my hoard in an exchange. i do however use day-play amounts for fun. but never store long term.
i agree with all posts o_e_l_e_o said. and the problem is:
1. when a exchange 'freezes' withdrawals. people dont actually report them/blacklist them
2. preparing for a event. the organisers dont really go into a preparation plan of showing where people should store coins offline
EG if they spent the weeks prior to the event, preparing people. giving them instruction guides for each wallet and showing how easy it is. then on the day. boom... bankrun
but just saying 'on day X withdraw coins please #proofofkeys' is just so unorganised.

the only time it would be a success permenantly is if exchanges did actually become regulated to actually produce a list of their cold wallets. and actually allow freedom to withdraw under all circumstances with financial penalty per freeze that outpaces the amounts involved with the withdrawal. (making it an actual penalty to hold onto coins)

even if the exchange is not fractional reserving and not spending the coins elsewhere. just the very fact that an exchange that does have the coins but doesnt allow freedom of withdrawal during a bankrun. is something that should become illegal in of itself

i understand fiat banks only get deliveries of so many bank notes a day so when they have bankruns at their local branch they can run out of money in that day thus i can understand they need to limit amounts withdrawn per day.. but bitcoin exchanges should have no excuses. they should have the funds ready to withdraw. no exceptions

10137  Other / Ivory Tower / Re: Is Google different now? on: September 27, 2020, 12:14:50 PM
yep google at one point you could give it a question and it would give you an answer. but now that they want togive that as a separate service (like apples siri and amazons alexa) google is making it more difficult to just get the answer.

a few factors is the over purchasing of keywords which then link to sites nothing to do with those keywords. another factor is 10 years ago the number of websites per topic was alot lower. now it seems everyone has a blog/opinion post on every topic so it dilutes the critical/factual websites. and yes they are following the youtube policy of only displaying the most clicked links of a certain topic
ive seen youtube where you type in a celebrities name  and instead of getting their channel you get lots of high view videos of other people talking about the celeb where its mostly the big high view video of a certain event
in google if you type in a certain celebrity name. where you know they own a domain about themselves. the first links you get are not that celebrities own site. but instead the IMDB and wiki and then media websites/news websites.
10138  Other / Serious discussion / Re: 10 habits to maintain good health on: September 27, 2020, 12:05:08 PM
when it comes to bacon. that is fullof salts.
the preservatives used to keep meat 'fresh' is the carcenagenic stuff(the processed meat warning). you would be much better off to get a farm fresh pork. cook it and then slice it into ham/bacon slices

if you are looking to cook meat and you usually give it a 'salt rub'. dont get a cup of salt and rub it into the outside and let it sit to 'soak in'
instead use 10% of the salt you usually do. put it into large saucepan with water in it. and add a mix of the less salt and also some herbs. and boil the meat. and once boiled then roast/barbeque/grill the meat to crisp up the outside.
your food wont be as dry and wont contain as much of the salts

if you buy ready salted meats. soak them in water for a couple hours and then take out the soak. rinse it. dry it and then cook it.

yep if you cant afford 'farm fresh' unpreserved meat. get a preserved(salted) meat and soak it. in water to leach out the salt from the meat
and yes you can even put processed bacon slices into soak to leach out the salt

when i roast a beef joint. i dont salt it. i put some onion, garlic and herb dust and that sharpens the flavour more then salt. and its better for you

10139  Other / Serious discussion / Re: the ongoing situation usa china lets speculate btc price on: September 27, 2020, 11:47:00 AM
trump increasing the customs taxs does not affect china at all. it affects the hobby miners that buy a asic and have it delivered to america. because it costs the hobby miner extra becasue the american hobby miner pays the tax.

this can affect the ratio of hobby:farms which can then cause issues of americans involvement of bitcoin declining because they cant afford to be miners anymore

.. the impact of this is the americans that stick with bitcoin dont mine to sell instead they buy coin to hoard. which can mean while china is selling coins americans are buying coins. which can affect the price positively. but if the buyers decline. then the price declines as there is less demand

..
a bigger factor of price speculation (the bubble foam above the underlying value) is the usefulness of bitcoin.
if america make it harder for exchanges to work with banks to allow people to deposit/withdraw fiat. then they wont be buying as many coins. which means that the speculative price will decline
this also includes if there is less retailers accepting bitcoin and deciding to accept an altcoin. then bitcoin can go the way myspace went. other altcoins can become the replacement facebook analogy. because other coins become easier and cheaper to mine/access/spend
10140  Other / Serious discussion / Re: Let's talk severe depression on: September 27, 2020, 11:34:23 AM
there are mutliple types of depression. there is however 2 main umbrella categories.
biological depression, situational depression

thnigs like PTSD is situational. where your depression is triggered by experiences and memories.
biological depression is where your body malfunctions to cause the mood change.

i know some people say 'just distract yourself' or 'just do something' 'try exercising' but this is not good broad advice
if you can figure out the cause of it and work on recognising the triggers and then work on affecting the triggers to no longer overwhelm you. you can then start to lead a better life which then cycles around to improve things

take for instance the inability to maintain your house.
in some cases it might be a mobility issue that stops you leaving your house, stops you cleaning the house and getting into this rutt then triggers the situational depression
it may be having to get the energy to clean the house to improve the situation. help might be to get some disability support of a cleaner popping around to help you. that improves the situation

other things like having memory/concentration span issues where one minute your planning on cleaning. then you forget/get distracted and hours later you realise that you didnt do what you planned. which then affects how you feel and makes your situation worse
other things like hormonal issues affect your mood by making you not care about things around you. which then cycles around

so getting advice to 'just get on with it' aint good. instead on your clear days try to work out the cause-effect and get to the root of the problem. then try to get a plan of how to handle certain situations.
sometimes it can be as simple as a calender reminder on your computer to prompt you to do something. sometimes it can be making chores into games. like if you do some housework then you can reward yourself with a treat. or to get someone in to help you.
as for the biological malfunction. maybe its worth asking the doctor about your specific issues and then say the words 'dont give me the first medication your thinking of. can you find something more specific'
some hormonal disorders are where your body is not making the 'happy hormones' and some meds are not the happy hormones themselves but other ingredients that would trigger the happy hormone. which in some cases just wont work or require high dosages of it to trigger the natural hormone release.
so try to find the right type of meds and not the generic stuff
EG normal peoples seratonin is triggered by chocolate, turkey, salmon. but they dont have seratonin in them they have tryptophen which your body if working right converts to seratonin
so if chocolate/turkey doesnt give you that relaxed 'food coma' state where you go for a nap and feel good. then its a sign your body is not converting things into hormones.

if your already on meds and your not feeling the benefits. then updosing may not help either. ask for a different med to try.
if your issue is your depression is making you forget/not care to take the meds. then you need to find that routine whether it be reminders or a person prompting you. just to stop you from cycling into worse state

but the secret to everything is to try working out the cause-effect at the root of it
