Oh no.  Is it confirmed that Sharexcoin has run off with our Qora?

Not yet.

How will we be able to confirm that?
1022  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Qora | Released 16 May | 100% POS | New Source on: June 05, 2014, 04:45:09 PM
Oh no.  Is it confirmed that Sharexcoin has run off with our Qora?  I had 23M+ Qora there.  That would really hurt.

If I didn't send MRO to polo with Payment ID, How can I get the money back

Just email them with the exact amount they seem to be sorting those sorts of issues out fairly easily, however it will be a lot more easier to claim if you didnt send a round number like 10 that someone else may have sent without a payment ID as well.

Hmmm, I have my MRO at the Cryptonote exchange and I'd really like to move it to Poloniex for the 2FA but I don't want to install the client.  Should I just send it without a payment ID and do the above to have Poloniex retrieve it?

Does anyone know if the BBR or MRO GUI wallet is closer to release?

Wait a sec... XMR?  What happened to MRO?

I know it's a pain in the ass, but worst case scenario your transaction will have to be resent once the forks are resolved. I sent from Polo to my wallet hours ago and still have not received. I'll open a ticket and wait. But I am not worried cause I will get my funds sooner or later, the are not lost.

Keep in mind, this is not a clone coin, there will be kinks to iron out and i suspect this is why the dev discouraged trading so early. We had similar issues with Nxt, but Nxt was not as soon on an Exchange as Qora, perhaps to its benefit. Hang in there, you will find and get your coins.

Ah, thank you!  It is really nice to get some information on this.  I will wait then.  It's hard to know when no one is saying anything.  Is it generally not a good idea to transfer Qora right now?

You need to spend a number of days with the exchanges trying to sort things out before you start complaining on here.

I did exactly that and I posted the details previously.
1027  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Qora | Released 16 May | 100% POS | New Source on: June 03, 2014, 10:48:16 PM
I made a QORA transfer from Sharexcoin to Poloniex that seems to have disappeared.  Poloniex support seems puzzled but Sharexcoin told me:

Quote
The Qora's blockchain is recently forked making some of the transactions orphaned and disappear from the blockchain.
We are still waiting for qora's developer words about what to do with those transactions.

Please pm qora with that info.

I pm'ed the above to qora and got back:

Quote from: qora
I am sure sharexcoin will resend the transaction as soon as they feel safe to do it.

That doesn't make sense given that my message said that Sharexcoin says they're waiting to hear from qora on what to do.  Can anybody fill me in on what's happening here?

Sending between exchanges is always a mistake. Always go back to your personal wallet before you hop to another exchange.

You mean with Qora?  I've sent directly from exchange to exchange with literally dozens of different coins and never had a problem until now.

I find it disheartening that no one will tell me if/when/how I can get my Qora back.  Does the Qora network simply lose transactions sometimes and then the sender is out of luck?

Are we advised to not transfer QORA currently?

Why are the developers nonexistent here? It's like a ghost town.

Because you can chat with them directly in the client.

You do realize it's more important for the devs to communicate on bitcointalk right now.  This is where more users will come from.  When the community is much larger, then it's ok to do all the communicating in the wallet.  I'm still having problems getting my mac wallet to work.

+1

Why did CHA disappear from coinmarketcap.com?
1033  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][CHA] Chancecoin, a coin for betting in a decentralized casino on: May 25, 2014, 08:00:01 PM
How are
1) what people bet on
2) what the stakes are

determined with this coin? Basically, how does the decentralised gambling actually work?

from a non-technical point of view it's actually very simple: people make a bet, putting in their desired stake and winning probability, the system determines if the gambler won or lost via new york lottery drawing and he or she gets his coins or loses them. if he wins new coins are created, if he loses his stake is destroyed, which levels out on a long-term time scale.

So people are betting only on ny lottery drawings? Just wondering what some examples look like.

I'm curious about this too.

Freaking awesome.

Could anyone briefly point out the main difference(s) between QCN and MRO?

There is even Youtube clip where Overstock CEO mentions Nxt

Now that sounds too good to be true.  Does anyone have a link?
1037  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [NXT] Nxt - Official Thread on: May 25, 2014, 02:11:54 PM
I just read something pretty fantastic in the XCP thread.  Overstock may issue shares on a Bitcoin 2.0 platform:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=395761.msg6928049#msg6928049

The next post says Overstock has actually talked to NXT about this???

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=395761.msg6928481#msg6928481

Is this true?
1038  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][XCP] Counterparty Protocol, Client and Coin (built on Bitcoin) - Official on: May 25, 2014, 02:01:12 PM
pay attention to the last question he was asked - and to his answer!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bkf04kQw1YU
59:15 he is considering listing overstock on a bitcoin 2.0 platform

Counterparty Devs do your magic - this can be HUGE.

Overstock started to talk with Nxt, but I am sure they will choose XCP because Nxt is not really "bitcoin 2.0". It would be stupid leading in accepting BTC and then change to Nxt.

That is huge!
1039  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][EXCHANGE] ShareXcoin.com - Sharing its revenue to the community on: May 25, 2014, 01:38:20 AM
There was an issue with the hosting provider last night, so the server stopped working. It is back online now. Sorry for this inconvenience.

Can you confirm all balances are safe?

if server goes down, nothing can be reached so why would balances not be safe?

It's good to have confirmation.  Mine looks to be fine.

Any idea what happened?

Yep:
