How do you know if you are on a fork?
Check the blocks at debug and look at how long ago it got the last block. I would advise people to only trade with parties they really trust.

I made a QORA transfer from Sharexcoin to Poloniex that seems to have disappeared. Poloniex support seems puzzled but Sharexcoin told me: The Qora's blockchain is recently forked making some of the transactions orphaned and disappear from the blockchain. We are still waiting for qora's developer words about what to do with those transactions. Please pm qora with that info. I pm'ed the above to qora and got back: I am sure sharexcoin will resend the transaction as soon as they feel safe to do it. That doesn't make sense given that my message said that Sharexcoin says they're waiting to hear from qora on what to do. Can anybody fill me in on what's happening here?

It is good to see some people work to improve the network security.
I think I got an Amazon Webserver somewhere. I put a node up there and give it some Qoras. I'm interested to see how that works out. The brainwallet should make the whole thing interestingly easy I hope.
But anyway. Does Qora have any form of special hallmarked nodes or something? I remember NXT had those special type of Nodes which helped the Network more than the usual ones.

Sending between exchanges is always a mistake. Always go back to your personal wallet before you hop to another exchange.

That's it, until the dev releases the wallet with the fix, i consider this thing broken and unusable. Ok, Fuck off then.

Sending between exchanges is always a mistake. Always go back to your personal wallet before you hop to another exchange. You mean with Qora? I've sent directly from exchange to exchange with literally dozens of different coins and never had a problem until now. I find it disheartening that no one will tell me if/when/how I can get my Qora back. Does the Qora network simply lose transactions sometimes and then the sender is out of luck?

I know it's a pain in the ass, but worst case scenario your transaction will have to be resent once the forks are resolved. I sent from Polo to my wallet hours ago and still have not received. I'll open a ticket and wait. But I am not worried cause I will get my funds sooner or later, the are not lost. Keep in mind, this is not a clone coin, there will be kinks to iron out and i suspect this is why the dev discouraged trading so early. We had similar issues with Nxt, but Nxt was not as soon on an Exchange as Qora, perhaps to its benefit. Hang in there, you will find and get your coins.

This is a completely new system being set up, you can't compare things to sending Bitcoin clones. Bear also in mind Sharexcoin is barely a week or two old too. I'm just a bit tired of negativity of people losing some coins and coming on here to make Qora look bad. Its early in development and a sensitive time to be broadcasting that Qora is buggy and is losing coins as it sends a bigger message than the actual reality that Qora is in very sound hands. Saying stuff like Qora loses coins, well Bitcoin loses coins, NXT loses coins. Personally I have been cautious in trading and have had not one problem from V1 to V8. You need to spend a number of days with the exchanges trying to sort things out before you start complaining on here.

Ah, thank you! It is really nice to get some information on this. I will wait then. It's hard to know when no one is saying anything. Is it generally not a good idea to transfer Qora right now? You need to spend a number of days with the exchanges trying to sort things out before you start complaining on here. I did exactly that and I posted the details previously.

I would say to hold off any further transfers just to avoid headaches. When I requested my withdrawal from Polo today, I did so with the possible expectation of issues and with that I was not disappointed. The last time I had an issue, it took Polo 72 hours to amend and it was basically fixed by them resending the transaction. A bunch of us are setting up nodes and can hopefully get some stability out of this. I also hope all those that are having issues are sending their files to Qora to review. Your issue is a bit different since it is Exchange to Exchange. I would ask Sharexcoin what address your funds were sent from, then check the blockchain to see if that amount showing as sent and take it from there.

But my transaction is in the blockchain
ShareXcoin is most likely out of sync. what shall I do? wait for them to reply? You should open a support ticket using the link at the top of the ShareXCoin exchange. I dit it 8 hrs ago. No reply yet did sharexcoin developer run away?
