1021  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Errol Spence vs Keith Thurman on: March 21, 2023, 07:10:57 PM
Quote
2. By chance Spence lost this fight and maybe go for a rematch
Hopefully if this scenario happens, Spence will be forced to risk his belt(s)

Do you mean Spence will stake his belts for the rematch with Thurman if he loses here? What will be forced is, Spence will risks his belt at 147 and might possibly face Crawford although as I said previously, there might not a chance now to see Spence fighting at 147 due to some problems.

I mean that's not possible since if the rematch will happened with Thurman, it will still be in 154 and his titles are all in 147.

I don't know though the rules of what will happen if let's say, Spence will ask for a rematch with Thurman and if he's still eligible to do that without vacating all his titles at 147. I think that's a rare case to happen or I just missed some same scenario in boxing history.

What I think is that we might see a different scenario once Thurman is able to defeat Spence at 154, there's a strong chance that the latter will ask for a rematch but since a rematch clause wasn't written on their contract (I suppose), Thurman has the choice to decline the offer if there's no belts at risks. And if a rematch won't materialize, Spence has two choices, first is he will vacate his belts at 147 and second is that he will defend his belt at 147 with a risk of facing the boxers he ducked. And this time, I think that their influence won't be used even if they wanted to because the WBC is already under criticism because of this fight.

If I will be on the shoes of Keith Thurman, I certainly wouldn't give Errol Spence a chance of a rematch in-case if I win especially if there are no belts on the line as it will be a total waste of time and preparations will be redundant. Thurman knew that he has to chase the right people in-order to grab the belts but considering Spence's behavior after he got the 3-belts, it's somehow convincing enough that he won't be giving the belts easily.
1022  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: March 21, 2023, 05:24:41 PM
Philadelphia 76ers -7.5 - Double Overtime. I thought I had a chance to still cover the spread but when Embiid was fouled out, I lost hope to see one win out of my 3 bets. Anyway, that's one heck of a game too, and credits to Chicago Bulls for putting up a fight until their last energy.

I failed on this bet as well but yes, credits for Chicago Bulls for giving the 76ers a hard time in all 4 quarters as the Bulls big three seems to be working well together in the game yesterday. They've had a combined score of 72 points which makes up almost three-fourths of the 76ers total score. In the Sixers side, they performed well too and gave the Bulls a good game and it's just that Harden was having a bad night.

Here's my advance picks for the games later.

Washington Wizards ML vs Orlando Magic
Cleveland Cavaliers -3 vs Brooklyn Nets
Oklahoma City Thunder vs Los Angeles Clippers -6
1023  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Stephen Fulton vs. Naoya Inoue | Unified WBC & WBO 122 lbs bout | May 7 on: March 20, 2023, 11:34:22 AM

Reason why some are going to skip the fight because the odds are not worth it, or just bet on other boxing events.

But in any case, I think everyone wanted to see Inoue winning against Fulton and become a champion again.

The odds for Inoue are all worth it. Bookies are just trying to trick us here, but obviously Inoue will win this without a problem. The fact that it's over 2+ makes this an opportunity that should not be wasted, and I don't want to see people blaming themselves for not taking Inoue's odds this time. Actually, I'm thinking that as the fight approaches, the odds might change, so the opportunity is slowly decreasing.
1024  Economy / Speculation / Re: What is the reason for the increase in the price of Bitcoin? on: March 20, 2023, 09:57:22 AM
Nothing could really pinpoint of what is the reason for the current pump and I don't know if we should really think about it. Because not all pumps (and dumps) should always have that and we have to consider the volatility of the market as it was expected to see the abrupt change in price trends at any time.
However, the conflict between Russia and Ukraine soon ended which is also a factor affecting the increasing demand in the crypto market. And the other thing to consider as a contributor to the current pump is the recovering economic status of major countries.
1025  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: New projects come out when bull market begin. on: March 20, 2023, 09:28:31 AM
Hello i just want to ask if i you guys also notice when the bitcoin rise there are also a lot of new projects come out and if bitcoin fall there are only few projects build, is it because some projects developer notice that most of the successful projects are build in bull market and most of the projects build on bear market are failed? Or they don't care about bull and bear market and they build thier project because the time is already been set?
They always come out whether it was a bull season or a bear market. But yes, we usually notice them during the bull market because of their unexpected and surprising price spike which could really gain attention and sometimes we could ask ourselves why not seen this coin before. But this kind of project just pops out during the bull reason will surely have gone after hitting their ATH which eventually causes major losses to the investors,
1026  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Never Trade on Emotions on: March 19, 2023, 03:56:44 AM
Trading with excessive emotions can indeed result in losses. the feeling of being afraid of being left behind when the price starts to go up and the feeling of being afraid of the price going down more and selling immediately without doing an analysis first is a small example. at the beginning of my experience in crypto trading I also experienced losses several times due to a lack of knowledge and indeed at that time I did not understand how to manage my emotions when involved in trading. and FOMO is what cost me the most in my early trading in crypto.
Experience will somewhat teach us and give us an idea of what we gonna do in a particular situation. Committing mistakes and suffering losses is really we can say - a terrible thing to happen in our life. But on the other side, this will help us to become more careful the next time and to improve our market understanding plus analysis. In fact, there is no perfect start in crypto, everyone have tough times on their early days just like you but they are still on the market because they never quit and make those bad days a reason to grow.
1027  Economy / Economics / Re: Poor and Rich on: March 19, 2023, 02:54:54 AM
You've listed one of the very reasons why the rich get rich and the poor get poorer, but there are other factors that play into this problem. Some of them include:

  • Lack of Opportunities: You can't become rich without working a day in your life, but what if the opportunity doesn't come around? Lack of opportunities to find employment are a good reason why people become even poorer as time goes by.
  • No Financial Literacy: I've seen people become rich and then blow all their money away belligerently, only to end up with nothign and be dead broke right after. Proper management of funds, as well as budgeting, investing, and saving of money is important in order to keep your wealth

These are the most common reason why poor people remain poor. Though they want to improve their status, unfortunately, with lack of education makes them incapable to do it and rejected from the opportunities around them. Proper education must be their priority, though it was a big challenge for them to send their kids to school due to financial capabilities but they should for the sake of achieving their goal and to give brighter future for their kids. Otherwise, nothing will change and they will remain who they are today. [/list]
1028  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Errol Spence vs Keith Thurman on: March 18, 2023, 04:00:50 PM
It is absolutely crazy to me that half the people in this thread voted for Thurman to beat Spence.
This is going to be one of the biggest mismatches we've seen.
Thurman can't take body shots, he hates fighting at a fast pace and I don't think he can fight in the pocket particularly well.
I have researched this fight extensively and I can't see one way that Thurman beats Spence.
I think Spence stops Thurman in the 9th round.

You have to understand that some of the votes came from "personal reasons" disregarding the technical analysis.

It's not even crazy to think of since you can't blame people to ignore how strong Spence is knowing he's a big disappointment for some boxing enthusiasts for not having the courage to even push for the much-expected fight against Terence Crawford.

Moving forward though, I want to see the aftermath of this fight regardless of who will win. Lots of "what if" scenarios here that are worth to wait.

Exactly mate, the votes made in this thread are not really because they favored Thurman and they believed that he is much stronger and skillful inside the ring. I mean, we probably know the answer about that but I'm one of those users who voted Thurman because of my personal hate towards Spence. Not just because he ducked the possible unification fight but also because they influenced the WBC to sanction the fight at 154 where it was supposed to happen at 147 as that's where Spence's belt is.

And same here, I just want to make this fight happen as soon as possible so that we will know what will be Spence's next step and Thurman as well as both boxers have nothing to lose here. No risks involved except adding either win or lose to their records.
1029  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: March 18, 2023, 03:30:09 PM
Maxi Kleber. Thank you.
It's a win for the Dallas Mavericks thanks to his buzzer-beater. Kyrie Irving being unselfish is somehow fruitful. He should start doing it more than taking all the blame himself whenever he misses the last shot.

Yes, the Dallas Mavericks deserved that one for sure because they managed to give the Lakers a huge struggle since the game started and it was a close end, fortunately Maxi Kleber managed to get that buzzer beater shot. In my end, I wagered on the Lakers side but I was already disappointed at them in the second half that is why I already expected a bad outcome and well, even if the Lakers won the game, the handicap won't be covered as it was just a 1 point shy.

Here's my advance bets for the games tomorrow:

Denver Nuggets -2 @ New York Knicks
Orlando Magic @ Los Angeles Clippers -6.5
Philadelphia 76ers -6 @ Indiana Pacers
1030  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Tank Davis vs. Ryan Garcia betting and discussion (May, 2023) on: March 18, 2023, 02:58:07 PM
...Anyone though was surprised to see Leonard Ellerbe on the background? The guy with that white beard, he is Floyd's CEO and we all know that Davis didn't renew his contract with Floyd. But according to the news, he will be training at Floyd's gym in Las Vegas, so I guess everything is really cool between the two camps despite Davis no longer under Floyd. And I think it is a advantage for Tank, at least he has someone more experience behind him. And who knows, Floyd might drop to his own gym and still mentor Tank because this is the biggest fight of his career, both of them including Ryan. Goosen's training gym is in LA, so most likely Ryan will train there as he is from California.

So looking at boxing's top librarian Boxrec, Mayweather Promotions is part of this event along with GBP (Ryan Garcia's promoter). TGB is probably the lead promoter here since Brown is always in the middle during pictorials and is usually the promoter tabbed by most PBC events.

Tank probably remained a promotional-free agent like Canelo and is free to fight under any promotions. PBC is the real promoter anyways so if Tank has a managerial contract and wants to continue working with Al then he doesn't really need a promotional contract that will take a portion of his events profits.

Yes, it certainly seems like it to me as well because Tom Brown of the TGB Promotions is also mentioned first whenever they advertise this fight while Oscar of the GBP is the co-promoter. And for Tank Davis being a promotional-free agent, he might sign under Al Haymon of the PBC but I'm under the impression that Tank Davis is also looking forward to build his own promotional company as the name GTD Promotions which is also his logo.

He might be routing to that, I mean with such indication it's simply showing that he wanted to have his own promotions, if he
continue his way, winning against Garcia, the chance to bring more hypes under his name.

A very good promotion for his desire next destination. It's no longer new to this sport as we see more legends who use their names to
start their own promotion business.

Moving back, the fight is nearing and for sure we will hear and read more trash talks.

That said, we might see Tank Davis making his own promotional banner sooner or later but considering his current situation, that might have to wait as well because he cannot really move freely if he will be sentenced this coming May. We will know about Davis's sentencing sometime later but for now, let's just enjoy this upcoming fight first because this is one of the most exciting and most awaited fights since last year. I'm just glad that these guys were able to materialize it for the sake of giving entertainment for the boxing fans and to settle their rivalry as well.
1031  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Shakur Stevenson vs Shuichiro Yoshino April 8 on: March 17, 2023, 03:10:16 PM

Yes, ML is not that attractive considering that Shakur Stevenson is listed as heavy favorite by the bookies and certainly, you need to put a lot of funds for that moneyline before you can even consider the profits of your wager but putting a lot of funds into unattractive odds have a lot of risks entailed and surely nobody wanted that risks even if you're a bigtime gambler. I reckon that the Shakur win via KO/TKO might be much more profitable to bet since Shakur's ratio is just below 50 percent, let's just wait for another options in the weeks to come.

Shakur is a class fighter and we want to see him in big fights that will be considered a legacy fight after he hurdles this fight his handlers should secure a million-dollar legacy fights something like a Garcia - Davis fights or a Haney - Lomachenko.
this fight obviously lacks attention from the media because it's a cherry-picked fight its eclipsed by big fights but it's good that the fight will come early before big fights of the year.
All bookies will favor Shakur, it will shock the boxing world if he loses this fight.

That's just sad on their part because their bout has been scheduled on the same month where the big fights are also scheduled, furthermore, there's just less people who takes an interest on looking at this fight because aside from this is Shakur's debut at 135, he is also partnered with a name that isn't really famous to be viewed as an acid test to the former champion. Maybe the next fight will be favored for Shakur as it's speculated that he is about to face the winner of Haney-Loma fight.
1032  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Canelo Alvarez vs John Ryder - May 6th in Mexico on: March 17, 2023, 02:06:34 PM
The moment this was announced, lots of boxing critics on social media said that it was a clear cherry-picking for Canelo.

What do you think guys? Who should be Canelo fighting instead of John Ryder?

I think the rematch with Bivol does have prerequisites and it's something that can be materialized that easily. Moving forward though, this was all set and Canelo should be considered as HEAVY favorite, not just a simple favorite.

Of course, it's a cherry-picked fight because Canelo just got his wrist fixed as he underwent a surgery just recently. His camp needs to make sure that he is ready as well as his wrist before fighting with the likes of Bivol or the winner of Benavidez-Plant fight, Ryder has been picked because aside from that fact that he is an interim champion of one of Canelo's belt, Ryder is not on par with Canelo Alvarez's prowess.
1033  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: March 17, 2023, 01:05:16 PM
And so WBC ordered a fight between Ugas and Barrios for the interim belt. Ugas is rank 2, while Barrios is rank 5. Thurman is rank 1 and will be fighting the champion in Spence, however it's 154 lbs.

So not sure why WBC ordered such fight for the interim belt, maybe they know that Spence will go up in weight if he wins against Thurman. On the other hand, Barrios has just like 2 fights in this division, lost to Thurman and then won against a unknown boxer. There is also rank 3 and 4 boxers in their organization, but they were bypass by Mario here, and then Ugas who did lost to Spence in his last fight.

In my case, I'm not also sure why these governing bodies keep on ordering such fights for the interim belts to have interim champs when in-fact they are not giving the champions a mandatory title defense especially in the welterweight. They should just focus on giving the existing champions a mandatory title defense because the division is already stacked up at the moment, we have lots of good boxers that is not yet given a chance to be a champion because they are just letting the title holders to keep the belts for a long time while ducking some fights. And now another fight for an interim belt? That's just nonsense, IMO.
1034  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: March 16, 2023, 11:06:45 PM

Los Angeles Clippers VS Golden State Warriors SCORE 134 - 126 - LOST

Crazy Stephen Curry has pushed his limits to make 50 points in this game but still, I think the Warrior's defense is very wide in this game that is why, and they are bad at turnovers 16 turns over and I think this needs to be changed while the Clippers Ivica Zubac has a double-double of 16 rebounds and 19 points, Paul George got 24 points, and Kawhi Leonard got 30 points,

We are on the same side here, mate. I bet on the Warriors at 2.20 during the live game. It was a close game, although the Warriors were always trailing. However, bad shots in the 4th quarter and a lack of defense allowed the Clippers to capitalize on their mistakes. Anyway, it's normal to win some and lose some, but in your case, winning three out of four isn't bad.

I passed on betting this specific game because I'm not that sure whether the Warriors can break their lose streak on the road because they're just too bad on it, so opposite when they are playing on their homecourt. It was a close game and I came to a point that I already assumed that this will be the game that the Warriors will break their curse. But unfortunately, that's not what happened. Also with the Lakers, I expected that Schroder or D'Angelo will take the helm but neither one of them took it and just let the Rockets embarrassed them.
1035  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: March 16, 2023, 10:06:00 PM
Lakers having a rough start against Houston, and there's no Davis, so it seems that the field is even although the Lakers should have the experience in this game. But so far the young Houston team are dictating the game, with a huge lead in the first quarter.

Lakers need this one pretty much, and if they lost to a low team like Houston, it will hurt their momentum.

D'Lo and Malik doesn't have the same start as their last game wherein they just blasted with a 14-0 run start in the first quarter.

That indeed hurt their PCT because even if there's no Lebron and AD on the line-up, it's a winnable game on their side because it's just the Houston Rockets, a tanking team. And the Lakers lost against that kind of team? Pretty sure that the Lakers management is not happy with the outcome and likely embarrassed because D'Lo or even Schroder is expected to take over the game but in reality, it was Austin Reaves who led the team.

1037  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Shakur Stevenson vs Shuichiro Yoshino April 8 on: March 15, 2023, 10:49:38 PM
[snip]
It could be, Shakur's ratio might be 47% and got a much lower ratio than the Japanese but I cannot really include that as basis because the latter is more of a local boxer to me because all of his fight are being held inside Japan, hence why most of his title are labeled as Asia Pacific. I'm more inclined that there's a good reason why Shakur's camp chose Yoshino and that is to highlight his debut.
It could be the right ratio --perhaps that is true that Shuichiro Yoshino may have a higher win ratio than Shakur Stevenson, but sometimes we give to consider the level of competition each boxer has faced. But we should not be comfortable with that --Shakur Stevenson has already established himself as a world-class boxer, having won a silver medal at the 2016 Olympics and held the WBO featherweight title and I think it is also a great consideration for him.

Exactly, it's the level of opposition too, that we need to look at and not just the record per se. So maybe Yoshino has more fights and high knockout ratio, but it doesn't mean that he is the better of the two.

Still boils down on who this fighter has, on the other hand, just the last 3 fighters that Shakur face might not be enough for the whole resume of the Japanese to match, just saying. So that alone shows how both fighters are very different, and it is reflected on the odds itself.

In terms of quickness and ring IQ, those belong to Stevenson. So even though Yoshino is a KO artist, I don't think he will be able to hit Stevenson with solid shots. That's a lot to ask for him, and since he isn't a popular boxer, I don't expect he will make it. This fight will most likely result in an additional win for Stevenson and an easy one at that.

As for the betting odds, Shakur is 1.08 to win.

https://www.aceodds.com/bet-calculator/odds-converter.html

1.08 is such a nay!
But you only need to put in a really huge amount as it seems a safe bet unless Yoshino suddenly strikes a lucky lunch putting Shakur to sleep and there goes your money. Not very attractive odds but it's also obvious Yoshi is not popular internationally and with limited exposure. Why there were even matched to fight is surprising.

1038  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Canelo Alvarez vs John Ryder - May 6th in Mexico on: March 15, 2023, 10:20:15 PM
I wouldn't surprised if the odds for Canelo Alvarez is lower than 1.10x because John Ryder is really not a tough boxer, David Benavidez and Caleb Plant are better than him, Canelo Alvarez did beat Plant, so it's technically Canelo already beat Ryder.

Betting via winning methods or the rounds end will be more worthy rather than bet on draw no bet or moneyline option. Canelo win via KO or 9-12 rounds seems better to bet if the bookies have this option.

The notable win of John Ryder is against Daniel Jacobs, and maybe he caught Jacobs at the tail end of his career, and prior to that he lost to Callum Smith, in which Canelo beat already, and he doesn't have a good KO % as well.

And some bookies already listed him at 12:1 underdog against Alvarez.

Let's see what will be the other "good" betting options for this as obviously, Alvarez is going to be the overwhelming favorite.

Considering that facts, then @Jawhead999 might be right about the odds he posted above because most of the bookies will compare Ryder and Canelo when they fought Callum Smith. Ryder lost by a UD while the latter won via UD, so that makes some clarification about the disparity of their strengths.

And I would like to add that Canelo is still at the height of his career and prime, so I'm thinking that Ryder will just be a mere tune-up fight in Cinco de Mayo.

Most of the people around us do not know about Crypto Currency. But those who know as much is through online.  Where I live most people don't know what crypto currency is?  But one thing I have noticed is that if they are asked about Bitcoin they say that they have heard about Bitcoin and they know about Bitcoin from different news media where there are various discussions about Bitcoin. But even if they don't know about Crypto Currency, they have a lot of interest to know about it. If they are given enough opportunities to learn about Crypto Currencies then I think they will learn them carefully and learn about Crypto Currencies.

That is if they are truly showing some signs of interests, yes, I believe that there may be some who have that attitude but that's the end of it because even if they are interested to know about what bitcoin is, they don't show or move like they are indeed interested to know more as they are not doing their own research. I mean, how can we know from such thing that takes our curiosity if we aren't doing something, right?

That said, it's way too obvious why people below 25 years of age do already know about bitcoin because this is their time and aside from that, they frequently see it on the internet, compared to us in our time that we ourselves should be the ones to equip ourselves with knowledge to know the latest news and happenings in the world because I do know that internet is already a thing before 2015 but not this far.

It used to be a very close odds between the Raptors and the Nuggets, Toronto now, the under and I should have pulled the trigger with the Nuggets much earlier with -1.5 at 2.x or even ML at 1.9x something. Now ML for the Nuggets are @1.82.

OKC vs Brooklyn Nets - I will the Nets a chance to win in this game, ML @2.00.

Best of luck.

Yup, the Denver Nuggets are now the favorites vs Toronto Raptors. I just have a slight regret for not betting towards the Nuggets ML earlier when I took a peek on the betting lines because I surely didn't understand why they are the underdogs in this game, but the latest tip-off revealed that Jamal Murray will play later on.

Denver Nuggets -2 @ Toronto Raptors
Orlando Magic -6 @ San Antonio Spurs
