1022  Economy / Reputation / Re: JollyGood is trusted by - and question. on: September 28, 2023, 05:08:39 AM
Is there any way to find out the time of trust feedback? I mean date and exact time? Because I just found out that BitcoinGirl.Club is right about this person, I strongly believe I got the tag either after or around the same time of this post :
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5464289.msg62899059#msg62899059
Also please read my post a few posts above his post, check post date and time, check my topic on him and it's time and date, if I wasn't asleep I could have seen it sooner and open that topic right away.

To those who support him, this is the kind of person you trust and back him up with inclusion?  If the answer is yes, then you are the same and deserve no place on DT to play with people's reputation like that.

I remember a quote from theymos saying trust system is not to tag people if they disagree with you. So I was also right about a deep connection between the OP of merit source application and JG.

If any of you after seeing over and over that he is misusing the trust system, bullying and harassing others keep him on your list, you will lose your credibility and influence gradually, of course all of us can make mistakes and misjudge  people sometimes, what is important is us trying to fix our mistake and make up for it, that's not showing weakness, it's not considered  accepting defeat, no it shows your maturity, it shows that you can be relied upon and be trusted.

You have brains, you know these things better than me, it's just that you need to hear it from others to be reminded of these already known facts.

As your little brother. I ask you to consider my comment above. Because if we can't rely on you to protect this community from abuse, harassment, scammers etc, then such community will be a lost cause to care for when it's supposedly trustworthy members are indifferent about the things expected from them  to be deemed  important.
1023  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: The Quantum Threat to Bitcoin: Implications for Miners, Nodes, and Wallets on: September 28, 2023, 04:14:05 AM
Well, i don't think that it can remain a secret. If one entity has the resources and techniques to compromise the proof of work, then they should not remain in belief that none other can do it. What if they keep it a secret, in vision of owning everything , while the other party comes and takes away all.

By the way, once the POW is compromised, the price will automatically fall to Zero even before any party have any chance to sell.

As more informed members mentioned previously, there is no "one" solution, equation or algorithm that could have the answer to all the problems, meaning if POW is compromised, it would only work to generate blocks e.g, 10× faster than others with the same hash rate, so there will not be any all in one solution to manipulate everything.

If there hasn't been any exploitation of EC keys and hash functions, there are 2 reasons, 1- it doesn't exist, 2- it exist, we are not just ready to advance to that stage yet, as you know the universe has a God who controls everything, we just have to hope it comes gradually giving time for safe transition.  Humanity deserves financial decentralization, and that could only be achieved by having publicly available difficult to crack equations/algorithms.
1024  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: the fastest possible way to mass-generate addresses in Python on: September 28, 2023, 03:52:38 AM

Thanks for the effort, but I was looking only for public key generation part, and then I would have changed add/subtract/ values and just like that I could have a mobile version of key subtracter. On my phone I couldn't run your script, I will try on laptop to see what happens, I just hope all the functions such ad wif, base58, uncompressed pubs etc are for decoration in this script, I mean I can barely handle public keys. 😉

I just remembered there was a script posted on puzzle thread which used subtraction by a desired value, but it was sequential. Thanks and sorry to post here asking help from others @OP.
1025  Economy / Reputation / Re: Does Live Stars Deserve My Negative Trust? on: September 28, 2023, 01:01:03 AM
I believe these are all excellent suggestions. A neutral tag, along with a link to a thread in a scam accusation or reputation board that presents all the relevant information, should be enough to ensure their history isn't hidden from the forum community. This way, if they ever try something similar in the future, we'll have a reference point to rely on.

Wow, interesting judgement you have here, in your opinion as a DT1  member, OP should just neutral tag a possibly actual scammer/ or accomplice  so the history is not hidden?

So he shouldn't red tag and make him come forward with evidence?

@OP,  how much did they raise during ICO?
1026  Other / Archival / Re: He is not a JollyGood fellow! on: September 28, 2023, 12:41:49 AM

I don't think he (and other DTs who left you a neutral/negative tags) are wrong. At least not in your case. That doesn't make him my "friend".

For the lack of any other analogy which could fit best here, I will have no choice other than using this analogy to deliver my point.

So in your opinion, if someone does something bad, goes to prison do his time and is then released free after lets say 5 years, now he is walking in a park talking with his friends, should a "police officer" seeing this person puts handcuffs on him and take him back to prison for the same "crime" he already did time for?

Interesting mindset, and this is why a decentralized trust system turns into a joke. Everyone will follow their own sets of rules.

Well, this is the same with bitcoin and all  the garbage forks, theymos' version/vision of trust system could be considered the original idea/bitcoin, the rest will change the rules and do whatever they want.

Let me simulate a conversation with an imaginary random member:

- well I think it depends digiran, if that criminal shows signs of violent behaviour and shows no signs of "change" means they haven't learned their lesson, so yes any police officer should arrest him on sight. digiran nobody trusts you here, go away.

- digaran : Alright, I think I ended up in  one of the UK's court houses. 😅 I hope you never read my post about UK's judges.

Edit: I have already said enough, I said what was needed, read this post and tell the answers to yourself. I already know what they are gonna be. I just wanted others to see you for what you are "most trustworthy members of bitcointalk"

And lastly:

"In the name of God, the passionate and the merciful"

"Many are the Jinns and men we have made for Hell: They have hearts wherewith they understand not, eyes wherewith they see not, and ears wherewith they hear not. They are like cattle,- nay more misguided: for they are heedless (of warning)."

Holy Qura'n, 7:179.

"Whomever Allah guides is rightly guided, and whomever He leads astray—you will never for find them any guardians besides Him. On the Day of Resurrection, We shall muster them [scrambling] on their faces, blind, dumb, and deaf. Their refuge shall be hell. Whenever it subsides, We shall intensify the blaze for them"

1028  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: == Bitcoin challenge transaction: ~1000 BTC total bounty to solvers! ==UPDATED== on: September 27, 2023, 02:27:04 PM
Wait a minute, allow me to analyze this saying: "Your Private Key, Your Coins" So if you got the chance to get any private key of any address that has funds, you are it's owner." Unquote.

Are we talking about this particular puzzle addresses or in general? If it's in general, then one might say : " if you get a chance to find a woman alone, you can have her anyway you like"  what if that woman is your wife, sister, daughter  or mother?

So no, if you find any keys with funds, unless it's a puzzle key, you should not touch them because they're not yours, so hands off the merch.😉

When you find a puzzle key, you better erase yourself from online world and gradually cash out without using any CEX, if you were "lucky" ( yeah, right ) and by chance you found it, better to explain how you found it and be sure to have a good story to tell.  Then again, gradually cash out and enjoy,  IRS wasn't lucky, you were, therefore you deserve it all.

Anyways, you should seek legal advice from experts, in here we only see golden coins where ever we look, so we are in a sense mesmerized by medusa, or rather by a gold hoarding dragon.
1029  Economy / Reputation / Re: To sin by silence when they should protest makes cowards of men on: September 27, 2023, 02:04:53 PM
I do not think any of them will be comfortable to share their home address and invite me in their house. I will not.

That depends on whether you are single or not,  I don't know if you are female or male, but I can sense you have a cute soul.😉
If anyone bothers you, just give names and I'll kick their behind. Just don't worry too much, 2 days ago I could barely visit any board, so I can say I have missed a lot of topics on this board, the ones which are not part of a cartel signature bots lets call them, they are so busy with their lives, sometimes they spend time to read and intervene if neccessary, so don't expect some knights with shiny armors, some people are afraid to lose their campaign payments, after all many people are actually living off by campaign payments, so they prefer surviving over honor.

Only those who believe in God, would sacrifice their own benefits to defend the oppressed to please God, and God does not abandon such people, these events are a test to prove our worthiness, yes we might lose our jobs/ positions even our lives, but does it really matter when God is with us?

These events might scare the hell out of people, but when you have God on your side, what is there to be afraid of?

Should I pm you my phone number, just in case anyone bothered you.😉🤭

Edit, anyhow, this post should be considered as my resume for hitting on girls, so if a single young girl is out there, this is me. ( I'm desperate, so a middle aged milf would do the trick as well ) lol
1030  Other / Meta / Re: cryptofrka's Merit Source application - let's improve the gambling boards on: September 27, 2023, 12:51:11 PM
If merit was designed as a solution to help fight spam on the forum
I wonder how could merit fight spam? It was meant to reduce the number of lazy garbage posters by preventing them from ranking up simply by posting garbage, so they learned quality is needed to keep farming accounts and campaigns, therefore merit forced them to provide a proof of work/ quality to deserve the reward/ rank up.

So, no having "enough" sources will not force people to spam less, it will help them to farm more accounts.

The same spammers will not suddenly turn into quality posters if gambling board has more sources, instead certain somebody would double down on busting stranger spammers/ cheaters to make room for the cartel's employees which systematically post the same artificial generic garbage in a more "qualitative" manner.😉
1031  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin puzzle transaction ~32 BTC prize to who solves it on: September 27, 2023, 03:42:33 AM
You are a master of mathematics, so you can solve 130 directly even with your mobile.

Jokes aside.

Look closely
I want a working equation, this master of mathematics has no clues what you are talking about. You should forget about previously solved puzzles, it's not like the author designed the whole elliptic curve, hash functions and then applied your logic to create this puzzle with some sort of pattern to test our IQ level and gift us some candy.

Why are you looking in 66 bit space? You know there are 2^96 ( 79228162514264337593543950336 ) exactly identical bitcoin addresses just like #66 address?

If you are curious about finding collisions, start by searching in 256 bit, maybe you get lucky and find a private key/ address collision where different keys can open the same address.
Your artistic binary method ( whatever that even means ) is beyond my level of understanding.

Did you even know solving 130 give or take is as difficult as solving 66? So instead of going after 66, start working on public keys, I haven't seen anyone post something interesting about their discoveries while working on points.

I have posted a few proof of concept python scripts, it's the result of community's collective effort ( right, 🙃, just a few), since you are spending your time anyways, at least work with them and share your findings.
1032  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: BitCrack - A tool for brute-forcing private keys on: September 26, 2023, 09:59:30 PM
I don't really understand what you trying to say, but from what I did understand,  here is 2^55 * 2000 = 72057594037927936000   and this is 2^66 =  73786976294838206464  difference between them is = 1729382256910270464

Before I loose my mind, let me give you what you initially asked, searching  2000 ranges with size of 2^55, with speed rate of 1 billion per second will take around 2284 years to brute force.

Edit: with 1000Bk/s, you can search that range in 833 days, and that's not even the entire 66 bit range.
1033  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: The Quantum Threat to Bitcoin: Implications for Miners, Nodes, and Wallets on: September 26, 2023, 09:28:58 PM
If SHA is compromised, then shit has hit the fan, to put it in laymen terms. It is used in every single corner of cryptography, but even if it wasn't, Bitcoin would still not survive, as Proof-of-Work is completely dependent on a secure hash algorithm. It's orders of magnitude worse than being able to work out a private key in a time span of a month.
I am not familiar with tech related stuff behind the scene of various block chain / hash functions, but I know they are separate from EC, while DSA depends on them.
IMO, if proof of work is compromised, it will remain secret because there is much greater benefits by both having a successful network and a backdoor to this network, so I doubt if anyone is stupid enough to try and attack when they can own everything.

In the case of mining operations, I had similar concerns until  vjudeu  replied and explained some solutions to some of the problems.
IMHO, nothing is more important than EC and safety of private keys, because that's supposed to be a safe vault inside user's houses, whatever happens to them, means someone broke in and stole from them, that kind of event has no turning back, but if way before that ever happens we could have plans and suggestions ( operational code ) in place as an upgrade, then people could be ready for anything.
It would be like when governments fortify their cash reserve vaults with new material and tech, it's a normal and expected change.

But again when you think about it, why would anyone interrupt the process of his own money printing machine if they can break EC?  As a conclusion, I doubt we see anything compromising crypto system any time soon because their profit depends on the safety of such systems.

right now you can have multiple addresses on one wallet without any connection between them. My question was if breaking sha256 would make it possible to connect them.

Who says different addresses in the same wallet have no connection? Maybe you need to think about the reason as to why mixers exist. Sha256 is unrelated to privacy concerns about connecting addresses/ wallets.

And about transition to new algo/ network, I'm not an expert, so I don't know.
1034  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: The Quantum Threat to Bitcoin: Implications for Miners, Nodes, and Wallets on: September 26, 2023, 06:48:15 PM
thank you for the explanation.
So an update to a new secure hash algorithm would be a problem from a mempool point of view, but a new EC would be?
Would comprimising sha256 be a privacy concern if it is used for generating addresses? Would it mean someone could connect all addresses from one wallet?

Computers used to fill an entire room, now better computers are in everyones pocket, so we never know how accessible quantum computing could get Smiley

You should read previous page to understand, but it's technical, sha256 proven to be strong enough at least so far, many experts work on breaking it, if one of them finds a weakness, the whole world will know about it and will have time to use a stronger hash function.

If a weakness is found in EC, it should be revealed for everyone, then if everyone wants to continue using crypto, they will have to use another type of curve, a different and stronger one. If it happens gradually bitcoin can survive, if it gets exploited in mass and suddenly, it would be difficult to restore things back to normal. These are speculations, not expert's opinions.

About wallet tracking, it is unrelated to this topic, but if you don't want anyone to connect your wallets to  certain transactions, use a mixer.
1035  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin puzzle transaction ~32 BTC prize to who solves it on: September 26, 2023, 02:10:44 PM

I can't understand your method, why are you looking for base58 addresses, can you at least explain this non existing mathematical relation? Base58 addresses distribution  can not be determined by permutation equation.
You know what you should do? You have to explain a mathematical logic behind your method which should be reproducible and   verifiable by everyone else.
Nobody knows, maybe hash 0 famous address with all 0 characters is somewhere in 66 or 67 bit range, right?  When there is no possible way  to accurately determine that, why do you keep doing it over and over and expect a different result?
1036  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: The Quantum Threat to Bitcoin: Implications for Miners, Nodes, and Wallets on: September 26, 2023, 01:12:11 PM
lets say quantum computing comes slowly and a new algorithm is found that is secure against it. Then bitcoin would most likely change from sha256 to it. So all new wallets/addresses are secure by the new algorithm. What happens with the old ones? If sha256 is broken, you could get the private key from the public Key. Or am i wrong with that? So everyone would need to transfer their funds from their old addresses to new ones. Wouldnt that completly blow up the mempool and with that the transaction prices? Most people would lose a lot of their value just to transact to a safer address or they would leave their funds in the open for anyone with the algorithm to get them.
Sha256 hash function is used in bitcoin signatures/transactions, mining and generating addresses, it has nothing to do with private keys and elliptic curve. They are different. Have you ever seen a quantum computer? It's like some sort of alien spaceship engine, I don't think those who can build one enough powerful would use it to target crypto.

If hash functions are compromised there is a chance to survive for  bitcoin, but with EC compromised, the whole concept of public key cryptography is doomed. So there will be no transferring of anything.😑
1037  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: BitCrack - A tool for brute-forcing private keys on: September 26, 2023, 10:36:24 AM
Hello

how many time will take search 2000 ranges in 55 bit ?

Thank You

You mean dividing 2^55 by 2000 ranges? Well in that case it would take exactly the same as searching 2^55,  total range, if your ranges have specific size, then you should tell us their size or just multiply your range by 2000 and then divide the result by your speed per second, the answer would be seconds taking to search your range. Then divide 60 to get minutes, again divide by 60 to get hours, then divide by 24 to get days, /365 to get years etc, but you already knew that right?
1038  Other / Archival / Re: He is not a JollyGood fellow! on: September 26, 2023, 06:07:12 AM
I don't quite understand why there is a warning flag on this thread for unregistered forum visitors (and I guess newbies too):

That's the mark of fame and a sign of respect from administration, this way everyone would immediately sign in to check my profile trust page, then they will have a laugh and understand what a joke a semi-decentralized trust system is.
For your information, I was invited to join this campaign. I would never embarrass myself by asking to join.

Anyone by reading colored pixels on the screen saying someone is a scammer and they believe it, well I wanted to say sheeple, but my own family are like that, they believe whatever, CNN, BBC, News networks, social medias say.
Then I have to spend half an hour convincing them otherwise.

I'm actually happy, because this happened after I joined a campaign, this means after 5 years their butts still hurt, also it shows what a lowlifes  they are.
But why? Just to show how miserable you are? , so burn till the day you die if you can't stand me.
1039  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Hardened SHA-1 vs weakened SHA-256: How to test them? on: September 26, 2023, 05:25:39 AM
Last year I was working with WIF keys and learned how to generate a WIF with any checksum, 8 zeros, 1s, 2s etc.
Using Wifsolver cuda, then I started thinking, what if we used 16 first chars of second hash as checksum, 32 first chars even, wouldn't that help us in solving any ( at least any second hash with our desired 16 chars ) by brute forcing a key using a similar approach as wifsolver?

I know this is stupid, I could find any WIF with my desired checksum in matter of seconds, that's why I thought about this.

But is it easier to find some custom long checksum by combining a curve into it?  I know this topic is about something else, but I haven't seen sha256 related topics. And someone who knows enough.
1040  Other / Meta / Re: cryptofrka's Merit Source application - gambling boards on: September 26, 2023, 03:35:41 AM

You seem to care a lot more than a friend, about this application, for an outsider this could be seen as if you have monetary incentive if OP is accepted as a merit source.

I don't know maybe your recent attack on me was a wake up call to inspect your close circle merit/trust activities just to make sure there is no account/merit farming.

Of course I'm not accusing anyone of anything, just saying you are a bit too much invested in this topic.  And honestly for someone who uses negative feedback for things that happened 5 years ago with no shame or remorse, I'd say merit/account/trust/ power farming is as easy and shameless.

Not that my scammy/ untrustworthy opinion matters, it's just my obligation to point out what I can observe and consider suspicious.
