1041  Economy / Lending / Re: Requesting 2,000 BTC line of credit on: August 27, 2012, 04:21:13 AM
... I will now proceed to place a large bet on satoshi dice for A 91% chance of a 7% return on my initial investment. Let's hope it's less than 60,000 and I'll have an extra 17.5 BTC in the bag. In all honesty I know this is a negative sum game... However getting even .5% per week to me is still a more attractive option provided I have a good faith in where I'm putting my coins.

wow, yet another new registrant speaking on things he does not understand.

Spend some time reading through the forums young one.....then perhaps you will not make your ignorance so obvious.

1042  Economy / Lending / Re: BitcoinMax Account For Sale (1915 BTC) @ 60% on: August 27, 2012, 04:00:13 AM
I will give you 100 BTC.

Given the developing situation, I don't think that is lowball.

I don't think so.  I actually think you are high.  At this point I wouldn't even offer 10 BTC myself.

I hear ya.....but a chance to make 1900% if Pirate somehow pulls a miracle out of his ass is a decent risk/reward.

Kind of like laying 100 on black 13.
1043  Economy / Lending / Re: Requesting 2,000 BTC line of credit on: August 27, 2012, 03:51:26 AM
Working capital for what exactly?

Hey yjacket......

Hardware acquisition would be part of it.  Also having access to sizeable liquid BTC without having to convert fiat (given the time delays) is attractive.  There is another reason, but we prefer to keep that closer to our chest as it is a profit opportunity we would like to keep to ourselves.

Hey back at you. Interesting, hows the mining game been? I got out and now i'm not mad, but it was premature. PM some of the details of the opportunity if you feel like discussing them. I've been sort of bored without multiple GHs to maintain.

Mining has actually been quite good the last few months.  We bought dozens of single before they jumped in re-sale value, and with the increase in BTC price it has paid off nicely.

I will PM you this week if you are interested in entertaining the LOC.

Major apologies to Definit.....did not intend for that to happen.

Someone is going to get some killer rigs at a good price.
1046  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: BAMT version 0.5 - Easy USB based mining Linux with farm wide management tools on: August 27, 2012, 12:32:26 AM
I am constantly amazed by the inability of people to do something so simple as update the SDK on a Linux machine.

A few minutes on a search engine, and a few minutes using the shell, and you could have been using 7xxx cards months ago.

Hey hey!  easy now!

I am looking to the future.....not dying to run my 7970'a on BAMT at this second.

I am going to transition all my 5970's to 7970's at somepoint and was just curious.

Hugs!

I bid 27 BTC
1048  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: BAMT version 0.5 - Easy USB based mining Linux with farm wide management tools on: August 26, 2012, 04:34:08 PM
So BAMT still does not support 7970's straight outa the box?

a little birdie told me .6 should include 7xxx support Wink

any word on release date?

Also, I think you might have missed this.
Here is a wager that I am making available that I encourage everyone not to bet me, but I will bet anyone that wants after this warning.

If you think that Pirateat40, a user I believe to be at control of the largest BTC Ponzi in the history of Bitcoin Will make good on all of his obligations to all parties and those parties will then meet all of their obligations to their parties then I will offer you a 1-to-1 wager on any amount.

The terms of this bet, if anyone chooses to make it, are as follows:

-- you must send bitcoins to:  1Jy5Ss8BprE2LHdTfj3KS2wvAm2KaF1zm9  to bet me.  I don't know any of you very well to take any chances.  I understand this may turn you off from betting me.  I'm trying to do so by making this an almost air-tight bet for me to win.  IMO the terms are extremely favorable to me and extremely unfavorable to anyone stupid enough to bet me.  So if you want to bet me still, send coins to the above hash.  No I'm not going to repeat it.

-- I will accept a bet of any size.  Literally any size.  Send 5% of the total bitcoins in circulation to my hash like you guys did to Pirate. I don't care go ahead ship it.   I can accept any amount wagered

In order for you to win the wager:

Pirateat40, Bitcoinmax, and all BurtW-run Pirate Pass-Throughs bonds must pay all obligations in full by 9/1/2012 at 1:11am PST.  If any one account on any one site goes unpaid then I win the wager.

I will be the sole arbiter of this wager.  I am extremely fair and if you do not think so then don't bet me.  The answer to settle this bet will be extremely obvious either way. All accounts.  All Pirate Payback.  I hope you guys have learned your lesson from this and do not bet me.  It's throwing away BTC if you send them to my hash above.  Don't bet me, but I will of course accept all bets if after this you still want to bet on Pirateat40.

I missed nothing.  He is offering to bet with money he does not have.  It is pathetic.
1052  Economy / Gambling / Re: Bryan Micon's Bet That Pirate Pays Back Everyone Thread on: August 26, 2012, 12:25:11 AM
Obviously there are limits, but what makes you think Micon couldn't cover any reasonable sized bet, either on his own or through a network of well financed gamblers?

Obviously there are limits when the man just stated he will take a bet OF ANY SIZE?

I swear the IQ on this forum drops daily.  Just make up your own reality.....

Yes. In normal conversation often things are said that have to be clarified later as terms are firmed up.

If you were get custom cabinets made and the cabinet maker said he could make them whatever size you wanted, would you berate him because he can't make you cabinets the size a the Bohr radius or an AU wide?

Not even comparable.  There is no phyisical limit on the size of a bet.

Cabinets are not exponentially scaleable.  Betting is.

I can bet 10 BTC, 100, 10000, or 10000.....the last bet being 1,000X the first.  I cannot have cabinets made that are 1,000X the size of average cabinets.

The only clear limit on this bet is the total BTC in circulation.  We all know Micon does not control even a sizeable fraction of that, and thus is willing to bet with money he does not have.  It's bush league and something that is simply not acceptable.

Who said the bet needed to be in BTC? He could always amend the terms.

Nice attempt at a red herring.

It does not matter if the bet is in BTC or fucking Pesos.....the exact same principles apply.

At the very moment you are stating that

-- I will accept a bet of any size.  Literally any size.

it becomes clear that this bet is a fucking scam, because you apparently didn't think a second about paying back. If you would have done so, you would have limited the maximum amount according to what you would be able to loose. This is bullshit.

And bitcoin.me is right, speaking in third person about oneself is a complete no-go and a reliable indication of… lets just say a weird guy, I don't want to be rude.

1055  Other / Off-topic / Re: Matthew, I kindly ask you to stop your trollfest or remove "Editor-in-Chief" on: August 26, 2012, 12:01:55 AM
By the way, I disagree with some of the subject. No reason to remove "Editor-in-Chief", but the rest has merit.

I agree too (and did agree in the last thread). I've gotten out of hand due to the thrill of proving trolls wrong. You see, it's never an even playing field with trolls because they hide behind anonymous sock puppets. Whenever you get the upper hand, I feel you should use it while you can. I think I've done that and since it's starting to annoy legitimate users, I'll gladly calm down. Anyway, not much to talk about until the bet finalizes  Smiley

You do realize you have not proved a damn thing to anyone?

Perhaps if you win the bet, you will have made your point (and a lot of money).  However, at this juncture you have literally no more credibility in your opinion than the very "trolls" you so despise.

Stop trying to claim some heroic status, and wait for the results of the bet.

Keep it classy Micon.

pirate did say he has paid 11 and i have no reason to not believe him, hence my post. I do not intend to bother posting 'proof', sorry.

ROFL.

I mean, who needs proof these days?!
1059  Economy / Securities / Re: [GLBSE] Pirate Pass Through Bonds! - Update on: August 24, 2012, 09:24:22 PM
PPT.E is due for buyback in around three hours.  I have been watching and waiting for developments to the BS&T unwinding process, but at this stage have not seen any progress.  This does not conclusively identify as a default of BS&T under the PPT.x contract and it is better for customers that it isn't.

Given withdrawals to make PPT.E payments are not available, the buy-back will be delayed until such time as either funds are available or a default is confirmed.

How?

A missed payment is by definition default.....and after reading the contract I do not see any exception for "intent to pay later".
1060  Economy / Gambling / Re: I'm offering 100% ROI to anyone who thinks I don't have 10,000BTC to pay out. on: August 24, 2012, 09:21:45 PM
Why don't you simply post some address with zero BTC on it and send 10K to it?

There are two possibilities...

1 - He made a $100,000 bet and is unwilling to prove his ability to pay because he thinks it's funny.

2 - He doesn't have it and he keeps making more bets because he thinks it's funny.

Which seems more likely to you?

3. You're all loud mouthed conspiracy theorists who refuse to learn your lesson on the first bet, so it will take additional bets to sufficiently make you start thinking before you talk.

Last time I checked the first bet has not even been settled yet......how was one to learn a lesson from something that is still undetermined?

Less talk, more action. Who here thinks I can't prove I have the funds? Free money!

I really don't give a shit if you have the money or not, you just run your mouth endlessly.
