1042  Economy / Economics / Re: Is it better to save money or invest it? on: July 05, 2015, 12:50:39 PM
but it should be remembered that investment is very safe.

Do note that safe haven doesnt exist in this world.

If you want a safe invesments better save it at bank and you will earn you profit there around 5-7% per year and you need to pay a lot of fee that you will have your payout below 5-7%

Saving in bank will get you less than 1 % monthly . "Saving" is pretty much different from safe deposits ( if that is what you meant ) . Saving is not actually feasible because the interest rate per annum ( assuming it is compounded ) will be less than the inflation rate yearly .

On the other hand, safe deposits pretty much could be consider as a "safe" investment for some people and it is up to 7.5 % per annum depending on your capital as well as the duration. The word "safe" is actually mean that it is safe if you compare it to the inflation rate yearly which means that you are still getting something (unless the country suffer a huge inflation ) but as the current incident that Bank could fall apart, it is not actually "safe" in term of security though

Saving in a bank is not saving, its stupidity. Now that you get 1% reward, for infinite risk (bank run, bank collapse, investor insurance fund doesnt cover systematic collapse, capital controls, etc) its the worst thing to do to keep money in the bank.

Buy cheap stocks, or invest in alternative things. Sheeps get eaten by wolfs
1043  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [XRA] Ratecoin POW/POS - No ICO/ No premine / No ninja on: July 05, 2015, 12:48:39 PM
Burn the coins, best way to stop inflation, but it would be a better way (if inteligently used) to encourage projects and bounties.

So depends on how good the community is, either burn or give bounty.
1044  Economy / Economics / Re: I need bitcoin to be $690 to break even.....will I make it? on: July 05, 2015, 12:47:18 PM

If you look at the price of litecoin rise recently its quite amazing how it was around 1.20 to 1.40 and then all of a sudden it can sustain a rise to $3 and stay there.  Crypto can move up and sustain prices fast is the lesson.  You ill see those prices again OP dont worry Smiley

Litecoin got shilled up, because it has a strong social presence. Bitcoin has a worse social media presence, yes bitcoin is much bigger, but c`mon, we need to shill on  social media about bitcoin too, or we lose this opportunity.

1 billion people on facebook, c`mon put your fingers to the work Smiley

1050  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin or gold? on: July 05, 2015, 12:41:00 PM
I think both. Gold and bitcoin . Nowadays is toot risky invest in 1 item.

It has always been, in the past 3 years if you invested in gold you`d be under. But funny that bitcoin had exactly the upward movement when gold went under.

So if you had bought gold at 2011 and bitcoin too at 50-50% portfolio, you would still be in profit if you sold at 2013, because with bitcoin you made a bigger return which canceled out the losses in gold. AND EVEN MADE MONEY!
1051  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin as a Retirement Account on: June 30, 2015, 07:51:54 AM

Yes you dont have time to put in your calculation here but you have a lot of time to post throughout this economics section it seems (?). Also it seems that I told you already ( not sure if it in this thread or another one ) that too much use of the words "IF" actually indicates an uncertainty of yours as well.

As for the second bolded part, 10 % of the average population dont have money and 1 % do ? where is the rest of the 89 % stands? Using GDP data as calculations is pretty much unneeded because this isnt the same thing as the world currencies or else. You should probably use data such as number of user and purchasing power in this case as because not the entire population will pour into BTC

Just visualize the bell curve of statisitics ok? People are diverse, and its very unlikely that all people will bite into bitcoin, especially if they are not ordered by their state (which i`m sure wont happen we are lucky if they recognize it as money)

Then we know for a fact that the top 1% holds around 60% of the wealth, and we also know that the top 1% is the least likely to use bitcoin.

So we only have 40% of the GDP at our disposal, in best case scenario, then remove the elderly, which is about 1/3, we are left with 28%, then remove the children below 13 which is about 1/4, so we are left with 18% of the GDP, that belongs to adults.

So quickly remove conservatives, communists and socialists, they are the least likely to use it, so we are left with 10% or even less of people.

Now this is the maximum bitcoin can achieve in short run, but then again i might be wrong.
1052  Economy / Economics / Re: I need bitcoin to be $690 to break even.....will I make it? on: June 30, 2015, 07:43:29 AM
My friend earned 500% returns on altcoins, and me about 200%.

Why wait for bitcoin when you can trade altcoins. Just get your bitcoins turned into altcoins, and then trade them, then after you won, convert back to bitcoin.

It wont go lower than this, 200€ is the floor Smiley

because that just luck, trading altcoin is much more about luck, because there are many of them and each of those alt are fucking unstable and super volatile, unless you are a part of group of pumper and can manipulate quite well the price, you will end up losing, but it is also obvious that between many losers there must be some winner

I`m not part of any group but me and my friend already made more than 100$ from trading alone, and on yobit, so thats says something about talent.

You have to have it in your blood i think. Also market manipulation is plain obvious here, all data is public so you can see what you need, this isnt like some shady forex broker.
1053  Economy / Economics / Re: Is it better to save money or invest it? on: June 30, 2015, 07:41:03 AM

dev of what? anyway we need p2p exchange, so exchangers cannot run away with the excuse "our cold wallet was hacked yesterday"

this is the only concern at the moment

That is true, and its a valid concern, however i think, in view of altcoins, the biggest threat is the devs running away.

There are 1000x more scam altcoins than scam exchanges, and more money is lost to scam altcoins than scam exchanges.

Pretty much the already established exchanges are staying, and can be moderately trusted.

It's the same as if your average broker runs with the money, yes they were regulated, but so what, funds are only covered up to 20.000€, the rest of it is fucked.

Its definitely about decentralization Wink
1054  Economy / Speculation / Re: How many bitcoins do I need to retire in 20 years? on: June 30, 2015, 07:37:58 AM
also there is no reason for bitcoin to die, bitcoin is a new technology there is anything like that for the moment, and there will be anything like that for many years, tech like this do not appear in 1 day or 1 year

be assured that bitcoin is here to stay, and to the contrary of the general belief, bitcoin is less risky then many think, you only need to know that after a furios pump there is always a crush remember just that and you will be fine

after saying this, you should aim at 10-100 btc, minimum 10, with a price to 10k, returning to 1k will not be a problem, and when we will surpass that point, then the  way until 10k will be much easier than many think

Yep bitcoin is our common fundamental internet money, which is the free-est out there.

Everything else is layered above bitcoin. That is why all altcoins are denominated in bitcoin, nobody trades DOGE/GBP or DOGE/JPY or other fiat crap.

Bitcoin is the DE FACTO reserve currency of all crypto coins, just as the USD is the reserve currency of the fiat toiled papers.
1055  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [XRA] Ratecoin POW/POS - No ICO/ No premine / No ninja on: June 30, 2015, 07:35:36 AM
I think the price should already be like 40 satoshi atleast, i saw worse coins , less developed i mean, with much higher prices.

Probably the algo has a bit too much pre-inflation, but still good though. I want the price to be @ 200 satoshi, then i`ll sell a few.
1056  Other / Archival / Re: Best bitcoin faucets? on: June 30, 2015, 07:33:54 AM
C`mon guys most of the faucets you posted pay visibly few. Like the one guy above wrote 400 satoshi, whats that?

Nowadays if you dont pay atleasy 700 satoshis, fauceters wont even visit your site... It's become very cheap, and it's not good.

Fauceting will die if the owners wont raise the payouts, it is paying extremely low.

hmm, can you link me to your faucet please?

I dont have a faucet, but i`m happy to send newbies to some nice faucets i stublmed across.

Its not that hard to find them, google + forum search can do wonders...

1059  Economy / Economics / Re: Will a bank being hacked boost adoption of bitcoin? on: June 30, 2015, 07:29:19 AM
I think it will. Till now, when people asked how this could happen, the only answer was shrugging, it's the way it is, que sera sera.

Now, when people ask, they might get this, depending on who they ask: Well, in fact there is another way, bitcoin, check it out.

it will eventually, but only if it will be on a large scale, and not 1 or two bank hacked from time to time, if the majority of banks(not gonna happen at 99% at least) will begin to face some heavy hacking all over the wolrd, then something will happen about the possible shifting to bitcoin from many around the world

Well if banks start to get hacked then bitcoin could be too. And i`m not talking about offline wallets, but the online wallets.

I`m sure 95% of bitcoin users use online wallets, so if they want to harm bitcoin, the online wallets will be the target probably Sad
1060  Economy / Speculation / Re: What does it take for Bitcoin to go 100X? on: June 30, 2015, 07:27:42 AM
It mainly takes time & patience.

It will happen eventually, just do what you always have been doing (if you are very creative then find new ways of improving bitcoin), and then just sit back and wait until the price reached 1 million $.
