Incidently, I'm now running a debug version (stock 2.9.3) on my router. Hopefully the core dump will tell us what's going on.

I know that, but Mt. Red couldn't possibly be going down as often as cgminer is saying. Also, I'm pretty sure us1.ozco.in is currently running just fine.
It is advantageous if a pool goes down for cgminer to not try to switch to another one that hasn't been working. 1 failed getwork is enough to do it. It's the same mechanism it uses on startup to see if a pool is alive. Overkill? Dunno, I wasn't expecting pools to fail sending getworks so often.

What if cgminer just queued up the next pool in line, rather than all of them?

Hack, yes, but no shares will be lost. The miner will just send shares which are under the pools target difficulty, so will be rejected.
That is, they'll be rejected by the pool, rather then internally in the miner software.

Yeah, this version is very unstable on my router. Got worse with the addition of GBT. Was segfaulting every day or two, now every few hours. From the logs, it seems to (mostly) crash after a new work thread is created.

Hi, as Photon939 told you bitforce 256 and the others fpga and asic devices are developed to decrypt hash sha256 algorithm, so can only mine coins that use it, (BTC, PPC, TRC..). Not for LTC that use scrypt algoritm.

So when ASICs arrive the only profitable option for BTC will be ASICs and all GPU will swap to LTC. About profitability who knows? now hashrate in BTC/LTC is realted to price, we have seen last month that LTC prices has reach its max, and many GPU have switched to LTC, when LTC diff increased the will back to BTC and so on every week.

When GPU have no option to switch between BTC and LTC a new status quo will be set.

Another thing...
The Stratum pool isn't be read correctly from the conf file.
I added it via the API, saved config and it correctly shows in conf file:

   }

But then when cgminer starts, it shows via the API as a disabled pool, without the 'stratum+tcp://' prefix or port suffix, just 'stratum.ozco.in'.

I see, you've added a sig handler for segmentation faults.

Maybe some resources/ports/handles/file pointers/whatevers aren't being closed cleanly and things get messed up?

From then on, all BFLs get garbled, never to kick back into sync. Still get some use out of them, seem to run about half speed.

The attempted restart seems to be a new thing... shame it doesn't work. The script I use already restarts cgminer if it quits, and generally works.
