1041  Economy / Services / [WANTED] Artist to do logos & mascots for my websites (more than 1 job here!) on: March 11, 2013, 11:31:40 AM
Hi Guys!

I'm currently putting together a couple of websites and I need an artist capable of doing my site's logos and mascots.
I also need a logo and mascot for my (soon-to-be)wife's website.

This is what I need...

Site 1.
--I want something cartoony and nerdy as a mascot along with a logo (with and without the mascot)
--The logo and the mascot need to be easily used as an outline or an emboss (like on a coin for instance)
--The logo will mainly be the mascot.
--Redrawing the logo will need to be easily done, so I need something simple but easily changed.
--I'm going to need several versions of the logo or mascot to paste around the site and for advertising.

Site 2.
--I need the same again, but will involve jewellery.
--Doesn't have to be cartoony.
--The need for an outline/emboss type design is not necessary here.

Now I'm not going to be like all the lazy pricks around here and ask you guys to start drawing and posting work for me until I see what I like, I'm actually going to hire someone!

What I want you guys to do...

--I need you guys to post some work that you may have done in the past that may be relevant to what I'm after.

What I'm going to pay...

--I will pay a $50 advance to the artist that I decide on based on examples posted in this thread. Then a $100 payment once all drawings are done.
--If I got with an artist who has only been with the forums less than 6 months, or has less than 200 posts, no advance will be paid. I will of course pay $150 on completion of the job.
--I do reserve the right to split the tender If I see 2 different designs that I like for the 2 different sites (so $75 per artist).

The Job...

Details of the jobs will be revealed to the winning Artist.

Site 1.
A logo on its own.  A mascot on its own with 3 different poses.

Site 2.
A logo on its own.  A mascot on its own with 3 different poses. (Same again)  Grin

Terms...

--Job will be paid in tasty tasty BTCBTCBTC! (of course)  Wink
--The artist needs to be available for a minimum of 6 months to deliver more pictures/logos (I've got more sites in the works). This does not guarantee more work tho.
--I will need all pictures in a vector format so it can be blown up to any size.
--If the work is not what I asked for, or I don't like it, I reserve the right to ask for it to be redone.
--If the job can not be done/redone to my satisfaction I reserve the right to not pay for the job.

Hopefully people will also read this thread and hire based on what they see here hire some of you.  A lot of you guys are really talented and deserve recognition and more work!

Okay artists, impress me!

1045  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: MtGox is bitcoins weakest link!!!!!! on: March 07, 2013, 04:39:06 PM
Bitcoin works great because it is decentralised.

80% of bitcoin trade happens at Mtgox which is centralised.

WE NEED A DECENTRALISED EXCHANGE SYSTEM NOW!!!!!

You want to decentralise where bitcoin is traded?  It's dead simple.

Create your own exchange that has buy/sell fees of less than 0.25%.  Mt gox starts at 0.6% and slowly goes down with bigger trading volume (for the average 50 BTC day trader it goes down to about 0.4%)

If day traders were aware of an exchange that charges less than MT GOX, many would flock!
1046  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Chrome Browser extension: MtGox trading bot on: March 07, 2013, 04:32:49 PM
This bot doesn't work so well when there is an upward trend like the unprecedented rise we've been seeing this last 4-5 weeks.

I'd suggest you wait until BTC stays within +/-5% over the course of a week, then I'd use the bot.

1050  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BFL ready to ship? on: March 06, 2013, 05:04:12 PM
I got some bets going on this

I recon Difficulty will hit 6,500,000+ before a BFL ASIC product hits costomers.
BFL will Deliver ASIC before bitcoin difficulty reaches 6,500,000

I recon BFL will deliver before the network reaches 50TH.
The BTC Mining hashrate will reach 50TH before BFL deliver an ASIC

They're both nearly too close to call I bet Tongue
1051  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Question for Inaba on: March 06, 2013, 04:58:24 PM
Hi Inaba,
I was just wondering what would happen if you got ill?

Inaba doesn't get ill.
He is immortal.
He can be at several places at once.
Inaba does not take holidays.
Also, he doesn't sleep.
He is currently the only person in the world that can confound and confuse Chuck Norris by throwing quarters at him.
He used to have a Clu action figure (from the movie 'TRON') but gave it away to a special needs child.  The poor kid later starved to death as he could not find his own mouth on his disfigured face.

Hi Inaba,
do you have any assistant or any backup plan for how the pool would be managed if you couldn't do it yourself?

Just join another pool and set it as a backup #1 or #2

 Cool

Are you saying
"these users are getting a partial refund"
or
"are these users getting a partial refund?"

?
1055  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Them BFL Cowboys on: March 04, 2013, 04:31:24 PM
So you lost your bet, your ASICs haven't been shipped, and we're trolling?

1. Nope. I don't need to bet in order to make a point, dumbasses do.

Kinda funny....someone who has no ASIC orders at all is sooo bent on "preventing a scam"  Cheesy

what type of rig would you guys build for 120k ?

I wouldn't put it into hardware. I just buy bitcoins. I could nearly guarantee that in 5 years time it'll be over $100 a pop.

Use it in short trading?
