1061  Economy / Gambling / Re: I'm offering 100% ROI to anyone who thinks I don't have 10,000BTC to pay out. on: August 24, 2012, 09:18:51 PM
Why don't you simply post some address with zero BTC on it and send 10K to it?

There are two possibilities...

1 - He made a $100,000 bet and is unwilling to prove his ability to pay because he thinks it's funny.

2 - He doesn't have it and he keeps making more bets because he thinks it's funny.

Which seems more likely to you?

3. You're all loud mouthed conspiracy theorists who refuse to learn your lesson on the first bet, so it will take additional bets to sufficiently make you start thinking before you talk.

Last time I checked the first bet has not even been settled yet......how was one to learn a lesson from something that is still undetermined?

This whole thing is rapidly spiraling out of control and is descending into sheer silliness.

I like it.
1064  Economy / Gambling / Re: I'm offering 100% ROI to anyone who thinks I don't have 10,000BTC to pay out. on: August 24, 2012, 08:50:44 PM
That's right! There are now literally hundreds of people who have missed the entire point of the Pirate bet (Don't accuse people. harass them, and pretend you know what you're talking about) and have now begun to harass me, thinking I don't have 10,000BTC and that I'm -only- risking my forum account. That's just ignorant.

So it seems I have to impose another FUD tax on the community. I will prove I have over 10,000BTC freely available to me. If you do not believe this will happen, place your bets here in the following format:

Code:
20BTC
13dSK4663Ts7j2PwHS1eUVjycKLBwx7PJM
Optional comment

I will be accepting up to 1,000BTC in bets. When the 1,000BTC is reached, I will prove that I have over 10,000BTC to my person and you will lose the bet. If I cannot, then the entire community would know if I was going to scam them on the Pirate bet ahead of time.

Let the games begin!

1065  Economy / Lending / Re: Requesting 2,000 BTC line of credit on: August 24, 2012, 06:17:35 PM
(yes, a loan does come with proceeds up front)

A loan that comes with proceeds up front? So, like, they give you the loan *and* they give you the profits? OK, I'll take 10 of those.

Jsus H. Christ.  I feel like i am taking crazy pills.  The stupidity on this forum is spreading like the plague.

Example: A borrower agreed to a $100,000 mortgage loan. The lender charged 1% for origination and a 1% discount, providing $98,000 of loan proceeds.

1066  Economy / Lending / Re: Requesting 2,000 BTC line of credit on: August 24, 2012, 06:10:55 PM
I am a partner in an equity management company, and used the proceeds from the large BTC loan to acquire more ownership in my firm.

Large loans come with interest costs, not proceeds. To generate proceeds you'd need an actual business, not "opportunities". Like selling hardware (not buying it).

Everything is backwards in these subsections. People can hurt themselves when they try and do things opposite the logical order.

Are you even paying attention?

I used the proceeds from the loan (yes, a loan does come with proceeds up front), and acquired further ownership in the firm I already own a large stake in.

Nothing backwards at all about that......the presumptions you make are quite laughable though.
1067  Economy / Services / Re: GPUMAX | The Bitcoin Mining Marketplace on: August 24, 2012, 04:30:22 PM
When do lease shares run?  I have tried moving the price around and I am no longer getting leased work.

Also I bought shares and send the coins last night to the address on the purchase page but it still has not activated the shares.

How long does it typically take?

Thanks

Leases generally run in the afternoon into the evening (in the USA).  The longest I have seen leases run recently is around 12 hours.

Purchased shares can take a couple days to run.
1068  Economy / Services / Re: GPUMAX | The Bitcoin Mining Marketplace on: August 24, 2012, 04:28:49 PM
so, i got my account show the workers online but no hashpower  :-/ anyone else have this problem?

SOmetimes stats are delayed.  Are you seeing shares come through on your private pool?  That is always the first thing to check.  If not, you may not have configured the private pool correctly.....
1069  Economy / Lending / Re: Requesting 2,000 BTC line of credit on: August 24, 2012, 04:27:37 PM
4mos ago pirate was paying 7% per week, and bitcoinica was still operational.

A line of credit doesn't require that the funds be set aside, only available to the borrower on demand. A lender with large cash flow might have considerable BTC on hand at any given time, and allow draws on that.

IMO, interest rates will find a level of "normal" and these types of loans will be common.

Also, Since yochdog has a well established identity, trading history, successful loan history, mining operation, and the business he bought out

What business, I did some searching, only to find some card bought. ?

Hey UUidman,

And this whole time silly me thought Cuban cigars were illegal in North America.
As a non-US citizen living in not the US I don't really care.

I'm a US citizen, living in the US... and I REALLY don't care.

+1

Can someone change the title to include accurate numbers. 11 reported, 1 confirmed.

Proof of the confirmed payment?

It's in this thread. The transaction was posted, and the originating wallet was confirmed to belong to Pirate. I believe Pirate also acknowledged that a payment had in fact been made around that time.

Not sure how much more proof is possible.

ahhh, thanks for the info.....I have not been reading every post in detail.

Glad to see one confirmed.
1073  Economy / Lending / Re: Requesting 2,000 BTC line of credit on: August 24, 2012, 04:16:38 PM
Working capital for what exactly?

Hey yjacket......

Hardware acquisition would be part of it.  Also having access to sizeable liquid BTC without having to convert fiat (given the time delays) is attractive.  There is another reason, but we prefer to keep that closer to our chest as it is a profit opportunity we would like to keep to ourselves.

1074  Economy / Lending / Re: Requesting 2,000 BTC line of credit on: August 24, 2012, 04:14:15 PM
11,000 BTC is an entirely different matter, and 4 months ago was 4 months ago.

4 months ago BCT was a different place than it is today.. Patrick for example has proven himself to be reliable and now is more of an attractive investment option than you would be from what I can see, or at least he is for a 2000btc deposit. I understand that you may not be using the full 2000 but I would be required to set aside 2000BTC none the less..

11,000 BTC cannot be as easily invested as 2000btc  e.g I can make 1 BTC off a 10btc loan for 1 week but there is no way in hell I can make that % off of 10,000btc. 2000btc is the upper limit for what I can get a high rate of return for.

I just fail to see the logic in someone setting aside 2000btc for you at 10% per year when one can securely earn more than triple this amount... Convince me otherwise and I'll give you the line of credit, or simply put a shoe on my head and hold a sign saying I was wrong

Sorry man, I just saw on IRC that yochdog lost the fuck he was about to give.

Coffee, meet keyboard.

Fucking classic.

What is the current pps rate for 4.5GH/s worker?

I've lowered it from 0.000033 to 0.000025, but I still see no public shares.

private pools pay about 0.000022.  What do you guys use?
The buy price is 0.0000341

The first rule of GPUmax is that we do not talk about lease rates.  Ever.

Again, I offer 15% of the account balance
1080  Economy / Securities / Re: [GLBSE] Bitcorp Mining Company - BTCMC 60+ GH/s, clear ASIC upgrade path. on: August 23, 2012, 06:51:12 PM
We are accumulating cash in order to be prepared to move into ASICs if and when the time comes.  We recently used a portion of our cash to acquire the additional GH/s, but that can easily be sold to recoup some of the investment.

I cannot begin to speculate what the MH/s per share will be after an ASIC upgrade......I would only say that we would aim to represent the same percentage of the over-all network as we do now.
