If anyone wants to still join it's not too late as you've only missed 4 games and I only got 2 points total from them. I think even if you join now you might still get some points from the games already played as you get 15 'automatic' deferred scores during the season if you miss a game which they pick the favourite score on average for you. If you've made your picks in another league and you join ours I think they get carried over as well. Not 100% but maybe someone can check. We have 48 users so far so it would be nice to try get it to 50.

Bielsa is a good manager.  Leeds is the promoted club to watch this season imo.  And I fancy Bielsa could manage a top side in a couple of years.  United, Chelsea, Barca and Juve are prolly closely monitoring him.

If he does well with Leeds I'm sure a bigger club will snap him up at some point, but he's picky about who he manages and likes to get his own way. I'd like to see him stay with Leeds for a while and see what he can do with them. I really wasn't expecting them to play as well as they did. They did excellently. I thought they would be outclassed and embarrassed at every opportunity but they gave as good as they got and they deserved a point from that match. Shame about the penalties. If they play like that all season then they will easily finish top ten. Not sure if they can keep that up though. City game at home in a few weeks should be interesting.

Last call for anyone wanting to join the Sportsbet Premier League pool: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5270461.0

There's a little over 3 hours to go before the start of the first game and under six before the next one at 3 o clock so missing one wouldn't matter too much especially as some people will get that game wrong. If anyone wants to play but doesn't have the money yet I can give you a month's grace period to join so as long as you pay by the 12th you won't be removed. We currently have about 45 users and the pot is at 0.34215000BTC plus a weekly prize of a $50 free bet for every weekly winner. If you bet on the PL this is too good to miss.

It is finally starting this year Premier League season and I see some good games to make a parlay in this first round of the Premier League. As a disclaimer do not copy my bets as I have a history of really big running lost amount of bets.Anyway I will try a triple with Liverpool,Arsenal and Tottenham today and see what happens.

I have them all down to win but I wouldn't put a threefold on them as the odds aren't very good. Liverpool should win comfortably. I have Spurs down for a narrow win and Arsenal should beat Fulham but it's away and sometimes big teams are shaky on their first game back.

Tuned in around the 30min mark. Smiley
I only see 3, maybe 4 familiar faces, where is everybody else? Doucoure is no longer with the team (Everton transfer), but what about Welbeck, Deeney...etc?
Watford's goal from a corner should be a positive sign for the team, last season they were dead last in goals scored from set pieces and these are important. I think bookies have Watford 5/2 (along with Norwich and Brentford) to get a promotion to PL, let's hope they are not wrong even though it will be difficult.

Now, can we get 1 corner, 1 goal (Watford), and three yellow cards in the second half, pretty please?!  Grin

There's rumours of him going to Spurs. He's good enough for Watford but can't see him at Tottenham. He should stay and try get Watford back into the PL which I think they have a good chance of doing. Welbeck will probably leave. He was barely playing for them as it is and seems both Palace and Southampton are interested.

Anyway , good luck everyone for tomorrow and don’t forget to get your picks in !
Go mighty Leeds ??

Just don't bet or only with your free bets. This pool should keep most people interested without having to stake any of their own money as it's practically like a free bet every week and you can still win something every round with the free bet offer.

Go mighty Leeds ??
They are playing against Liverpool lol!
Are you expecting them to give some fight? Man! I think we will win by 3 goal difference, the minimum 😝

Welcome to Sportsbet.io family. You will enjoy the ride.

I think Liverpool should win comfortably but Leeds will obviously be fired up and wanting to get something from this game. Maybe they can take advantage of there being no fans. I'll be watching the Leeds game today probably along with the opening one of Fulham v Arsenal just to see how they get on.

Anyone watching Watford - Middlsbrough match? I just checked in flashscores, hornets are one goal ahead. I hope bitcoin logo wins!

I didn't watch it but they ended up winning 1-0. Hopefully they'll be back in the PL next year.

Hi Guys!

I asked our trading team about YOUR suggestions for the Liverpool v Leeds match and they took it one step further! 10/1 for all 3 to score at least one goal! (10 mbtc max bet)
If you Liverpool fans are expecting a bloodbath, this is a great way to win 100 mbtc this weekend! get on it!   Grin Grin
Link to Sportsbet.io bloodbath special here >>

Not sure if it'll be a bloodbath but I am expecting a comfortable win and will probably go with a 3-0 Liverpool victory so that three scorer bet could certainly come in.

If anyone wants to join the EPL prediction pool there's less than 24 hours to do so now. Pot is well over 0.3 and lots of prizes to be won. Sign up here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5270461.msg55039640#msg55039640

Premier League season is starting on Saturday  Smiley

How do you guys position your bets for the first matchday? I set my bets as follows and I would like to here your opinion.

Fulham vs Arsenal # win of Arsenal @ 1.58
Liverpool vs Leeds # over 3.5 goals @ 2.33
Tottenham vs Everton # double chance Everton @2.11
Brighton vs Chelsea # win Chelsea @ 1.69

I wouldn't go for 3.5 on the Liverpool game. Maybe 2.5 as I think the score might be 3-0, at least that's what I'm going for. It's certainly the game I'm most looking forward to. Maybe Leeds could take advantage of no crowds at Anfield and also being the underdogs to get a shock point or two. I think Liverpool will still be too strong for them but it's a good tester as they're playing against the PL Champions and one of the best clubs in the world so if they can do well against them who knows what could happen this year.

That's right, Chelsea are building a better team than last season...
If last season, Chelsea only finished in 4th position, this season Chelsea must be able to enter the top 3. I read in the sports news, the amount that Chelsea spend to buy some players this season is 200 million pounds.

Yeah they are bit around around 200 million. If Ziyech transfer would have been in this window then would have put more than that. Chelsea have done a great job buying players this season and bolstering their squad. It will be interesting to see how much time it would take to fit all those players into their roles accordingly. Would take some time but they have good amount of time since it's fresh start.

Here is how Chelsea squad look:

Edit: Now I wonder I guess they forgot Mason Mount up there  Tongue

Ziyech, Thiago Silva and Ben Chilwell are out for the opener. They still shouldn't have any issues beating Brighton.

Less than a day to go now. Few people said they will pay still haven't so hopefully we will have a few new sign ups before the start.

Well, Superbru isn't gambling website which make multi-millions in profit, so it's understandable that they can't afford to pay as much as Skybet does. Also, they have lost significant part of income from ads during lockdown when there was no competition in action. They even asked for donations as I remember. So, it's nice that they are still offering these prizes after all.
It would be interesting to try Skybet game, but I think they only accept players from UK. VPN would be an option if there wouldn't be KYC.

Well I mentioned that above, but it's probably irrelevant as getting ten correct scores is astronomically high and they'll likely never have to pay that out. If they did though it would probably worth the advertising attention it got as a lot of news outlets would probably pick up on it if someone won.

Wow - looks like we’re going to hit 40  Smiley
Just checking - I presume I need to open an account at sportsbet.io - even as I’m writing this I know it’s a stupid question  Smiley Smiley Smiley
Edit - cheers folks . Opening an account now  Wink

We have over 40 now. You don't need an account unless you win the free bet but sign up anyway and check them out.
1069  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: September 10, 2020, 03:52:25 PM
10 exact scores, they should be giving away a lot more than £20,000. That’s cheap man, it’s virtually impossible to hit 10/10 perfect scores.

It was £50,00 for ten last year:

Seems they got rid of the 5 correct scores tier. I agree it should be more but they're probably just being overly cautious. Maybe they paid out too much last year. Skybet offer a lot more usually at £250k but occasionally including the first round of this season they're offering a whopping 1 million £ for their SuperSix game and as the title suggests you only need to get six right and that's hard enough, though they can afford to offer this promotion as they're one of the biggest gambling sites:

Worth playing as it's free as long as you have a Skybet account.

We hit 40 users signed up now. Still two or three users who said they'll pay before the start of the season but whether they will or not only time will tell.

Superbru also announced their cash prizes for multiple correct scores though as before the odds of winning something is low but you never now:

Keep spreading the word as only two days to go and any more users who sign up now ill just make the prizes bigger.

Think we need five more players for 40 users. If BitcoinGirl.Club, ulven and bitsat all pay then we just need two more players.

I am now a part of it too. Because I am new registered on www.superbru.com I am missing the overview and I have to find my way around.
So if I don't manage to hand in my tips by the weekend or if I end up on the last place, it's only because of that Grin
And I'm happy to have some battles with a few known users here. Let's go!

It's a simple site to use. Just bookmark the following link and it will take you straight to your picks: https://www.superbru.com/premierleague_predictor/play_tipping.php

The leaderboard is on the top left.

whether the discussion will continue in this thread, or we will have a new thread for 2020/21 season?

We will continue to use this one.

Keep spreading the word as any more users we get will bump up the prizes and I'd like to offer a few consolation prizes for the highest weekly scorers again.
1073  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: September 08, 2020, 04:23:27 PM
About our competition. I suggest to enter your results but don't lock it. That way no one can see them and share the info, and you can make any last minute correction if you change your mind.

As far as I'm aware the other users can actually see your picks after they've locked theirs regardless of whether you have. Locking the picks is mostly pointless but at least you can see others choices if you're interested, but that's where possible foulplay can come into play if there's collusion. if you wanted to throw people off though I'd just enter a random score and change it as late as you can. I'd be surprised if people go to these extreme but just focus on your own picks and winning it of your own volition/skill in predictions is most of the fun.

^  Oh I hope it doesn't become an issue, cos that would suck for the pool.  And I think it could even discourage the sponsor from coming back.

We're having a good thing going on thanks to you.  I personally would like to see it keep growing and become some sort of a tradition in the forum.

I'm sure the pool will continue to go. Hoping we can hit the 40 mark so that would mean the pool has grown by ten users every season. We can aim for 50 next year.

toke, for all we know there could have been multi-accounting last season, it didn't matter because you won it by a mile. If it was a free competition I’d moan about people having a secret alt in there or something. Everybody has to pay though so don’t worry about it. To be honest somebody could have 3 or 4 accounts & still not get a paid prize. The smaller paid spots are 0.01BTC so they’d need to finish high up with both accounts to even make much of a profit as it’s 0.0045BTC to enter per account.

Yeah. I would be very surprised if someone goes to such lengths. I'm sure there might be the occasional asking a friend what scores someone else has made behind the scenes but it shouldn't really make much of a difference.

It's not something I would concern myself with as I'm not sure it will become an issue. Most people will just do it for a bit of fun and probably won't go out of their way to cheat, but again if you have a friend who's locked their picks it's easy to get them to share that and there's nothing we can do to police it other than discourage it. The only time it could become an issue is towards the end of the season and if they had a lead and change their scores based on that, but it's still not foolproof (and again if anyone is concerned about that do what you have to to mask your picks including changing them before kick off). A friend of my used to play fantasy football and he said there was an issue with users cheating once they got out in front they would just pick the same players as the person behind them so you couldn't catch them up. Think picking the correct scores would make that more difficult though as there's nothing stopping a person further down the table climbing the board with some great picks.
Well that's not really cheating, it's strategy. It's used in sailboat racing when the leader copy the follower strategy to guarantee his win. After all at some point the player showed more skills, knowledge and tactics to become the leader. https://effectiviology.com/follow-the-follower-strategy/

It's similar but not the same. I would compare it more to being able to see your opponents hand in poker, which most would consider cheating.

Just went in today to make my picks but I still see a red "clock" logo next to all of our names, is there something we needed to do? Because I'm also in another pool and I don't see those symbols appearing.

I went for one or two draws, but mostly favorites:)
This seemed to be cleared up as I just placed my picks without any issues and they all went through really quick.
Great interface and actually made it an enjoyable process to go thru and not as tedious I thought it would be picking over 7 matches.  Grin
I only went for one draw as I think all teams will come out the gates on all cylinders so alot of goals! Wink

Superbru is a great site in my opinion. Very quick and simple to use and you can even put the entire seasons picks in advance if you wanted (though I obviously wouldn't recommend it.

tyKiwanuka, tomahawk9 and mole0815 all paid and we've hit our target so any additional people who join now will bump up the prizes. I might keep the 6-10 spots as they are just as consolation prizes and bump up the 2-5 ones and/or offer a small consolation prize for the highest scorer.

^  Multi accounting the pool this season with the overlay gives a mathematical advantage to get in the money, not to mention the ability to see all the other picks.

And it's not that I'm paranoid.  I just like to keep everything fun and honest.  Really...  I don't mind losing fair and square.

Anyway, since it's all out in the open.  Multi accounts allowed, can't enforce players not to cheat then let's just have everything in the open.  I'm pretty sure it's ok for fairness sake.

It's not something I would concern myself with as I'm not sure it will become an issue. I still can’t believe they held these dumb international fixtures so soon before the start of the season. Still, we don’t have long to wait until the real stuff returns. A very strange time, not just for sport.

Agreed. They're glorified friendlies and a lot of big players aren't even participating in them. They should have cancelled or postponed the Nations League with the start of the Premier League and other European leagues starting this weekend or shortly after. It's far too close. England game was boring as well. Can't see tonight's match being much different either. They were very lucky to win it and it should have been a draw if not for the Iceland penalty miss.

Hello,

Yes, we will have a Southampton promotion to share very soon!

Football is back already! very quick...

Just went in today to make my picks but I still see a red "clock" logo next to all of our names, is there something we needed to do? Because I'm also in another pool and I don't see those symbols appearing.

You can set the pool so you have to manually accept or deny users and that clock just means you haven't been approved (or denied) yet. It doesn't matter really as you're still a participant unless you get declined. I just have it that way so no users who haven't paid sign up.

It would be easy to do this if you wanted anyway. All you need is a friend who's in the pool. If you're worried about cheating this way you could either not put your picks in until nearer kick off or put a fake score in then change it.

So it's left open to cheating...  Could we at least know and let every participant be aware of who has multiple entries and how many, who brought their friends to join the pool and who entered the pool without a BCT account?  It's only fair imho.

Nobody has multiple entries as far as I'm aware. I'm not going to start requiring everyone to disclose "friends" on or off bitcointalk as it's not going to do anything. If someone wants to 'cheat' this way then they can easily do it, but it's not something I expect and seeing the scores of another person only gives you a slight advantage anyway. As I said before, if people are paranoid about cheating then you can avoid this by either changing your scores before kick off or only putting them in as close to kick off as possible. Turning off the ability to see scores until after kick off is one of the premium features but they only seem to accept credit cards and there's no option to put your name in so it probably uses the one that you signed up with so I probably couldn't do it even if I wanted to (unless I legally change my name to Hilarious Andco).

Nice. If mole0815, BitcoinGirl.Club, tomahawk9, ulven and bitsat pay then that will be 36. Really hoping we can get 40 users or more now and we can have a few more bonus prizes or bump up the 6-10 places.
1080  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: September 07, 2020, 03:01:21 PM
rdbase just signed up. We have 30 users now but need another 4 to hit the target of 0.3. We should get that as I think there's 4 or 5 who promised to pay but nothing is guaranteed and I'd like to try get it to 40 users if we can.

That's 33 so far and it's looking very good. Only 7 more will make it a nice number of 40. I see some new names so far.

Assuming they all pay. There's always a few cock-teasers  Cheesy. It would be really nice if we could get 40. The pool will have grown by ten members each year then. Seems a way away though.

Ok so...  If I buy another entry and just do the same picks over and over and get first, does my other entry automatically get second?  I'm def thinking of getting another entry or two with that overlay rn.

I guess so. I'll have to think about it. I wouldn't want someone having five accounts and then winning the top 5 spots but obviously it's risky having more than one account with the same picks because if you don't do good then you won't win anything at all. I'll listen to others opinions on it but it's not like it's something I could enforce strictly. Maybe we could allow it for this season and see how it goes.

I think we'll need to make things very clear and the decision unanimous in case somebody wins multiple spots.  We don't want any member complaining that it's unfair as it would break the rep of the pool.  I plan on buying two more entries backed with real identities just in case Super Bru disallows it.

Well I don't think we could ban a user from winning multiple prizes as that would kinda seem unfair as well if they paid twice. I wouldn't really mind a user winning two spots but it would obviously be a bit shit if one year someone signed up with 5 accounts and won them all. That would be hard to do though and you're probably more likely to lose with all 5. I guess we could try to discourage users signing up with more than one but at the end of the day there's nothing stopping one from being sneaky about it. If somone this year wants multiple shirts maybe just try recruit a friend and let them play whilst you keep the shirt.
I would try to stop multi accounting since it will complicate our pool and rules significantly. It also gives one other unfair advantage. You can lock your picks on one account and see what everybody else entered and then use that knowledge on your other account. Not so important in the beginning of the season but very important when the end comes near.

It would be easy to do this if you wanted anyway. All you need is a friend who's in the pool. If you're worried about cheating this way you could either not put your picks in until nearer kick off or put a fake score in then change it.

A bit confused !
When I go on my Superbru account I seem to be in 2 groups
- Bitcointalk - 13 players
- Sportbet.io’S Bitcoin.... - 26 players

Is anyone else experiencing this ?
Does it make any difference?

Just scratching my head a bit on this one !

I deleted that pool. It was the only way to message all previous users.
