1061  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling Investment Doubt on: January 27, 2017, 07:24:29 AM
For how much time do you usually let your money invested in a casino before finish or renew it?

before i invest my money (bitcoin) in any casino or any business in general, i firstly start searching about it and look at its previous payments and how it has been performing. you can find these kinds of information for almost all businesses, they either report it themselves if they are honest or you can see other people reviews.

then if i see it has been performing well i invest and see how things go in the first month and then decide to what to do for my next move.
1062  Economy / Speculation / Re: Price climbing fast again on: January 27, 2017, 07:18:48 AM
looks like OP spoke too fast. after about a day price is still that same $15 higher. and rises of this size is normal for bitcoin, there used to be a time when prices changed a lot bigger than this.
in any case market seems to be a little bit calm these days, not willing for fast and big changes.
1063  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Online mall that will rival Amazon and ebay accepts bitcoin on: January 27, 2017, 07:03:57 AM
in my opinion a rival of Amazon and ebay that is also using bitcoin needs to be decentralized just like bitcoin itself is. something like OpenBazaar is the obvious choice and if anything is about to take off and take the place of these two i say it is OpenBazaar. although it needs a bit more developement and a more user friendly start.
1064  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Filthy scammers, cheats, hackers, thieves, conmen, fools and protestants. on: January 26, 2017, 04:33:25 AM
Why is it that the Bitcoin community is full of these people?  Every imaginable way of stealing, cheating and scamming is done on the blockchain.  Every imaginable scam is being deployed in conjunction with Bitcoin.  People going to jail left and right.  How did it come to be that Bitcoin people are so damn dishonorable?  Will that ever change?

This community is poisoned.

you are either a big troll or it is your first day on the internet, and i say it is the first one.

ever since internet became a thing and people sat behind their computers and started looking at monitor instead of the other person in the eye, everyone "felt" anonymous and started lying. some lied small and some took it further to scamming.
and this has been going on for more than 8 years (age of bitcoin).
1065  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: has any casino ever been hacked losing a lot of money? on: January 26, 2017, 04:28:03 AM
i was talking to someone about bitcoin the other day, introducing him to bitcoin and also talking about what trading is and where he can do it.

then when i was talking about risks of keeping his bitcoin on exchange wallet and how many of them were hacked i was thinking that gambling sites are similar to an exchange, they are handling bitcoin (it may not be as large as an exchange but it is still big) and they have hot wallets.

so have any of them been hacked as exchanges were hacked?

if you are mentioning any here please add bitcoin price of that time or give a date so we can see how much money it was lost.

So far I haven't heard or read any news about a gambling site that has been compromised or breached by hackers. they maybe the same as exchange as they are holding tons of bitcoins to operate and roll it over to their customers. But I don't know if that is true that gambling sites has tighter security rather than exchange sites.
lol really? you never heard a single story about this?
the most popular story was about how hufflepuff stealing bitcoin from primedice though a 'legitimate' rolls (confirmed hacked),
full story read here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=843892.0 ,
they lost 2,000 bitcoin or worth to $1 million that time if i am not wrong.

you are correct becaus the story has happened in August 2014 and by that time (according to bitcoincharts) price of bitcoin was about 500-550 USD which makes the amount about 1 million dollars.

but what i don't understand is how he withdrew that amount. even if it was multiple occasions, these sites usually don't allow automatic withdrawals of big amounts. which means you can withdraw 0.1BTC for example in a second but if you want to (for example) withdraw 20BTC it goes to manual mode and it takes longer.
1066  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Play with your profit or not? on: January 26, 2017, 04:22:23 AM
i used to continue gambling even when i won something and made a profit. becauase if you think about it, the profit can be added to your bankroll and make it bigger so you have a larger room for error.

but what i learned from this, was that i will always end up losing. which means that room for error is going to be filled too since there is no escape from a big losing streak in gambling.
1067  Economy / Speculation / Re: Don't fall for the chinese scammers trying to make you panic sell on: January 26, 2017, 04:15:30 AM
The chinese are using the PBOC as an excuse to crush the price and short and use all the panic sellers on their advantage.

How do we stop them and fuck them up? easy, don't panic sell when they release more PBOC messages. If they see that they can't manipulate the price with those PBOC messages,, they will try to stop shorting and they will start longing pushing the price up.

Investors and traders care for the profit so even they know what the is latest trend and the effect of it to the current price decrease, they are securing the profits rather than to hold it for long. They can back again anytime once the price went to decrease again so no worries for them if they will take out for now and entered later.

Only those long term bitcoin holders will not be dragged by this even the price went down much more. That's the spirit in their optimitism about the big price increase that will in bitcoin someday.

i wouldn't call it optimism, it is -in most cases- a good study of bitcoin and its future and then investing as long term strategy. and i have to say in the past 8 years this strategy was successful since the price has been rising ever since and the pumps like mtgox or the halving pumps were a good chance for others to get in and those who were in to make some profit and buy again.
1068  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is CHINA CONTROLLING Bitcoin? on: January 26, 2017, 04:08:24 AM
the past week has clearly proven that China is not even big enough as those who want to show it as big, say. with the new restrictions from theim central bank and the law the fake volumes have evaporated and now we can slowly see the real volume and the real small power China has when it comes to bitcoin.
1069  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Why do so many people hate Coinbase? on: January 25, 2017, 05:05:13 AM
actually not everyone hates coinbase, or at least not all of it.

i personally don't like or use coinbase but i have always suggested it as a wallet for the absolute beginners who are also lazy. because in my opinion it is a good service for these people to be able to buy bitcoin and then hold it right where they bought it and spend it whenever they want without knowing much about bitcoin and how to use it.

although it is best to use a desktop wallet but services like coinbase are good for average Joe who wants to get in as fast and as easy as possible.
1070  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Epic Gambling Story. on: January 25, 2017, 04:54:34 AM
cool story but my experience has always been a bit different. because whenever i lose my last amount of bitcoin and am left with a small amount (like you did in here) i decide to make one last bet as my last stance and make some of it back at least but without an exception i have lost every time this happens.
1071  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: has any casino ever been hacked losing a lot of money? on: January 25, 2017, 04:47:05 AM
As I remembered we discussed this one long time so what the purpose to start new thread with same title. I personally take withdraw right after get finish on any casino so till now I don't lose any amount due to this incident.

well i couldn't find the topic when i searched. and as you said it was a long time ago so maybe that is why.
but if you know the topic then why not include the link to it in your comment, i will review and if i find it more complete i will add it to the first post and close this topic.
1072  Economy / Speculation / Re: Trump will crash the markets and bitcoin and gold will go to Jupiter on: January 25, 2017, 04:41:19 AM
this is one of those times that i am really glad that i am not an American. with all their debts and all the economical problems. and many are forecasting a economical crash for US.
the only thing that makes me happy are my investments, i have already bought enough gold and lots of bitcoin to be set for the possibility of going to the moon.
1073  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: In a Bitcoin Disaster where would you move your Money? on: January 25, 2017, 04:34:59 AM
it is not easy to answer this question because it really depends on the situation. for example what was the disaster, and what is the chains that created because of it. if the majority chain is what i like and want i surely would choose that and it may not be really a disaster. but in case that things went so bad and chains became bad and i didn't want any of them i would go back to fiat since altcoins you have here are shit except monero but that is not a long term choice for me yet.
1074  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How is trading *not* gambling? on: January 24, 2017, 04:55:07 AM
it depends on who is trading and gambling.
i have seen many people who are making bets on price, meaning they buy a random altcoin then wait to get lucky and the price of that goes up! so obviously in case of these people trading is like gambling.
but if you stop for a second and learn how to notice a good investment and how to trade then it changes from being a random bet to the most profitable act.
1075  Economy / Economics / Re: Make money from money on: January 24, 2017, 04:44:07 AM
What are the features that a good investor should have? What are the characteristics of people who have enough capital and earn money from money?

What are the factors that make these people successful in their investments?

wisdom and experience is all anyone can need.

wisdom means using your brain and logic, to think about every move. to think if an offer, a business that you want to invest in, ... is really what it says it is or is it all a sham.

and obviously it needs experience to figure out what i said above faster. and also to find good opportunities to take the most advantage of before they take off.
for example in case of bitcoin, if someone found out about it when price was 1 cent he could make a fortune or same way when price was $200 two years ago.
1076  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin needs altcoins because ... on: January 24, 2017, 04:35:37 AM
the only reason why bitcoin may need altcoins is that they help people who have invested in bitcoin, earn more bitcoin when they trade altcoins.

lets face the reality here. most altcoins are shitcoins that copy an altcoin code, freely available to public, change a little and call it a new name.
the remaining are not so different themselves, they change a little more of the code and just hype the rest saying their coing is the best and then die in a while without accomplishing anything.
1077  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: have you guys tried gambling in a game.. what game is it? how was it? on: January 24, 2017, 04:28:19 AM
when i manual bet...wow...so powerful for me..

put on autobet after 30 min all gone..lol..haha

i cant long hours towards the same game, easy to boring ald ><

the game is online dice ...
 Wink

Dice game is easy to play but one can easily get board within 15 to 20 minutes, and after that, they can concentrate if they play manually. So many people go the auto mode to bet in a dice game. But I never play dice game in auto mode because I know we can quickly lose all our money if we play auto mode, so I only gamble manually until I get bored of this game.

that is why they have an automatic betting feature in their sites built in. so that people can set the variables to their desirable strategy and click start and walk away. then come back to check on their strategy and see how much they have won or lost in their bets.
and in my opinion not that many people get bored with this game because they are still the most popular.
1078  Economy / Speculation / Re: Cashing out.... on: January 24, 2017, 04:22:09 AM
Kinda feel the price will drop quite a bit, will probably cash out and buy back in after the dust has settled... The chinese  exchange fees look like its going to be a bubble popping but just my opinion... But why the insane mempool size?

you biggest mistake is that you think there is a bubble right now, but you are in a big mistake. there is no bubble. the bubble bursted a while back when price went down from $1160.
this price is not going to go down tht easily because of the way it was risen.

besides the fees on chinese exchanges and the situation over there is the best thing for bitcoin because they can no longer fake anything and most things are real now.

with all that said, if you think otherwise by all means don't hesitate. someone has to give the whales the cheap coins they want Cheesy
1079  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is success for blockchain technology on: January 24, 2017, 04:16:07 AM
What factors will satisfy us that blockchain technology is on track for realizing its potential?

Because as of now we see very little in the way of commercial and user engagement...

we need and only care about bitcoin success and for that we only need more adoption and it will only happen over time and with some other factor.

the underlying technology (the blockchain technology) is successful and is becoming a lot more successful as bitcoin grows bigger. besides there are lots of people, groupls, and banks working on the technology with all their altcoins, so i'd say it is pretty successful.
1080  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How did you started to gamble? What was your beginning like? on: January 22, 2017, 04:44:02 AM
the funny thing is that i never knew about gambling or ever gambled before i started using bitcoin and come to bitcointalk. Smiley
the first time i saw a casino it was on bitcointalk and it was a dice site that was doing a promotional giveaway so i participated and received some free satoshi and tried the game and was hooked up on dice games ever since!
