241  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Replay protection on: October 06, 2017, 10:44:13 AM
In the case of Ethereum, which side added the replay protection.

haha, ethereum developers have been so incompetent that they didn't even think about protecting against Replay Attacks. they were only focusing on doing the roll-back faster to get their money back.
and as a matter of fact there has been a lot of issues caused by this. and a lot of money were lost. you can simply google "Ethereum hard fork Replay Attack" and find the articles of that time.
http://www.coindesk.com/rise-replay-attacks-ethereum-divide/

and the issue was severe only because the fork was without consensus and both sides had a large enough support to sustain them.
242  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to secure your wallet once and for all! on: October 06, 2017, 10:38:05 AM
Make regular backups and use 2FA

what do you mean by "regular backups"?
these days almost all wallets are using Hierarchical Deterministic method (HD) which means you only save the seed or if they don't have seed like bitcoin core you just take a one time backup and it contains your master key in it. (this is as far as i know about core).
243  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: india may launch its own cryptocurrency - "lakshmi" on: October 05, 2017, 07:35:03 AM
the popularity of bitcoin is growing everyday and since it has always been open source and under MIT license everyone uses it somehow.

these government-issued-cryptocurrencies are not new. there are a dozen of them at least. many of them started working on the project a while ago and some of them are starting this year with the growth that bitcoin has.
the blockchain technology is obviously something very interesting and useful. but it remains to be seen if they can successfully create something useful from this technology and improve the banking system or just create something centralize and fail.
244  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: LITECOIN DUMPING HARD!!! on: October 05, 2017, 06:59:40 AM
Bought at $65 like 2 weeks ago.
Who knows if it will be there again ..

you bumped a 4 month old topic to say this!!!

litecoin price was about $4 earlier this year and it went up and continued rising to high values. by the time this topic was created price was still low around $30 something like that. and it still is rising.
you obviously came in late and invested after the price was in the ATH and again obviously price went down in a correction to about $50 and it is staying around that price despite all the drama and FUD that is around and the dumps that happen because of it!
245  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Coins with Smart Contract Capability on: October 05, 2017, 06:51:23 AM
with the activation of SegWit and all the things it opened up there will be capability of creating smart contracts on bitcoin and by extension it will also be a possibility on other altcoins that are based on bitcoin and also have SegWit activated. coins such as Litecoin for example are going to be in that group.

you can check the currently active project called RootStock (RSK) which is smart contracts for bitcoin.
here is a link: www.rsk.co
246  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: do you think its good if whole world will have ICO regulations? on: October 05, 2017, 06:48:40 AM
regulations can potentially be good too. if they are set in place good. for example you can look at Japan and their regulations regarding bitcoin and how it helped the adoption of bitcoin grow exponentially this year and add a lot of new merchants.

in case of ICOs if some good regulations are put in place to prevent scams and also the useless ICOs which are only created to take money, then things may improve a lot in this market.
247  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Bitcoin cash or Bitcoin gold? on: October 05, 2017, 05:38:32 AM
Which of these two is going to fetch higher prices? What do you guys think?
i think bitcoin gold first then bitcoin cash.
BTG first because it will be released soon and then because it is new and also it is going to be mineable a lot of people may go there to start mining it and with it start to hype and then pump it up.
but BCH next because of all the drama that may start for bitcoin and the cash people are known to be parasites using bitcoin FUD to their advantage to pump their altcoin.

Quote
BCC has failed to get high enough to be called a real contender. Will the new one beat it and get closer to dethroning the king?
haha
BTG is a pre-mined shitcoin
BCH is an attack on bitcoin
you think these can even come close to bitcoin Cheesy
248  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: should i invest in ETH & LTC? on: October 05, 2017, 05:23:00 AM
i am personally staying away from ethereum because it is too risky and unpredictable in my opinion. specially now that it has a lot of issues and a big hard fork coming which can break a lot of things.

but i am still investing in Litecoin, it is a good coin in my opinion and it has been very profitable so far. there is a lot of good news coming on and the developer is one of a kind.

also i should mention that if you want quick and big profit then none of these are good. LTC is a good investment with less risk but other altcoins which get pump and dumped these days are high risk but with bigger rewards. you can earn 100% profit in one day for example.
249  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Question: When was the last hardfork (BitcoinCash?) on: October 04, 2017, 11:00:56 AM
bitcoin cash "fork off" happened on block height 478558 which was mined on 2017-08-01 13:16:14 according to blockchain.info

remember than it was a contentious hard fork which nobody even wanted. and it was more of an attack on bitcoin orchestrated by Bitmain. which is why it did not have any significant effects on bitcoin and its price.

also remember than you can not really compare bitcoin with altcoins when it comes to forks. bitcoin is a huge and decentralized network which consist of so many users, nodes, businesses and services where altcoins are small and mostly centralized network which people only trade.
250  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: FUCK Coin?? Who's in on it? on: October 04, 2017, 10:54:51 AM
in my honest opinion it really doesn't matter if it is a pump and dump altcoin or not. at the end of the day this project has the worst name of all times for a serious cryptocurrency. it will always look like a joke.

imagine going to a store and wanting to buy groceries, you go to the cashier and ask her "how much fuck do i owe you?", and she replies "give me 100 fucks" Grin
its not really going to work...
251  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: how can smart contracts give more value to a currency? on: October 04, 2017, 10:26:02 AM
The question is essentially based on the ethereum currency.
How can smart contracts increase the value of coin?
first there is always an underlying hype going on which pumps and dumps the coin.
second the smart contracts are currently only being used by many ICOs and if someone wants to invest in any of them they MUST buy ETH, there is no other way for 99% of them. so a fake demand is buying a lot of ETH which causes a bubble.

Quote
Does not the currency increase with our investments in it using transactions with own currency and etc?
Ethereum is not a currency!

Quote
A company that chooses to use the blockchain platform through a smart contract with ethereum how will the procedure? I get a little confused.
i am not an expert in smart contracts and the process of ICOs to be able to explain them but if that is what you want to learn about then there are good sources online teaching how to create one.
you can also copy one of these projects out there.
252  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What's up with PIVX on: October 04, 2017, 05:07:42 AM
this is not really limited to PIVX. this is a pretty common thing that happens a lot. well maybe it takes a bit longer than a couple of hours but i have not checked the charts and i am taking your word for it.

in any case coins like this sometimes have crazy whales who go crazy sometimes and do dumps like that. it doesn't need to have a news to go down like that. and it doesn't have to have a news to come back up.

it is a good coin and whenever you see a big dip like this you should make sure to buy it, the profit has a very high chance when you buy in dips like that.

254  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Best coin to buy in October? on: October 03, 2017, 09:38:49 AM
Monero is always promising.

Ark is also a good one with a good chance of a rise this coming month.

there is also NEO which everyone is talking about these days, and since NEO had recently hav a huge drop, it is now only on the rise because there is no more dump left.

Litecoin is another one that i am expecting to see a very big rise out of very soon. there has only been good news for LTC and the price has not have a rise for a long time while every whales has been accumulating it with high volumes.
255  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Goldman Sachs is flirting with bitcoin trading on: October 03, 2017, 07:50:37 AM
with the growth of bitcoin, specially this year with all the price rise and the biggest news of all being Japan adopting bitcoin this big, everyone is getting involved with bitcoin. some big names will obviously also come into the game. some do it publicly and positively and some of them do it hidden and show a false negative front like JP Morgan. but they are all getting involved with bitcoin and they are all accumulating more and more because they know the future of it.
256  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Why Ethereum around 300 while Bitcoin had recovered to 4400 on: October 03, 2017, 07:42:31 AM
because bitcoin is a solid cryptocurrency that has been around and it has a lot of real usages. hundreds of thousnads of merchants around the world have been accepting bitcoin. many countries have adopted bitcoin as a legal currency and it has always been the safest cryptocurrency out there. that everyone knows.

eth on the other hand is a shitcoin with nothing to offer, only a place for ICOs to be born and pump the price of ETH as they only require that token to invest in it. it doesn't even have a cap! and on top of it all ehter has always been insecure with lots of bugs.
if that weren't enough people are leaving ether because they soon will not be able to mine it anymore.
257  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Super Low caps - which is most legit? on: October 03, 2017, 07:28:26 AM
"scam coins" never last long. they will always die pretty soon. having a low market cap does not make them scam, it just makes them crappy coins like others.

the same thing is true about having a high market cap. that doesn't make a coin legit, it just means the high cap coin could fool more people into investing in it than the other coins ever could.

this is why you should seriously stop looking at the market capitalization of different coins. it is very misleading.
258  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: All airdrops are ponzi schemes? on: October 03, 2017, 07:20:09 AM
DONīT GET ME WRONG! I DONīT ACCUSE!

I want to know more about airdrops and why some people telling its ponzi scheme!

"people" are not telling airdrops are Ponzi scheme, you are! your topic is saying it. otherwise you would have asked whether they are or not with a "question mark" at the end!

in any case, having an airdrop doesn't make something a Ponzi scheme. having no usage and being absolute crap makes them a Ponzi scheme. and they usually don't do any airdrops. they just release some ICO.
259  Economy / Speculation / Re: Building up to Bitcoin Gold might increase the price of Bitcoin on: October 03, 2017, 07:15:52 AM
Let's look back at Bitcoin Cash and evaluate what happened and based on this information, predict what will happen to the Bitcoin price, building up to Bitcoin Gold fork.

A lot of people got some FREE Bitcoin Cash, based on the amount of bitcoins they owned on the day it forked to create Bitcoin Cash. Now we seem to be having a repeat of this scenario, but this time it will be Bitcoin Gold.

I predict that a lot of people will be buying more bitcoins in a buildup to this fork and more people will be hoarding their coins, to increase the amount of FREE Bitcoin Gold they will be receiving on the day of the fork.

Less supply and increased demand, will push up the Bitcoin price, building up to this event. Right?
It's not necessarily, I think the current price increase is not because bitcoin users are starting to hold their bitcoin to get bitcoin gold because the time of launching bitcoin gold is still a few weeks away, usually if they are interested then they will hold bitcoin a few days before the launch of bitcoin gold.

I disagree, most people anticipate that there would be a rush to buy bitcoins, closer to the date of the fork, so they would much rather buy now and have these coins before the panic phase kicks in. We also saw spam attacks causing delays in transaction confirmations of up to 24 hours prior to previous major events. You do not want your transaction caught up in one of these spam attacks, prior to the fork.

You will also want to buy at a cheaper price, whilst it is going upwards, not when it reached it's peak. ^smile^

majority of people usually put these things off to the last minute that is why we always see a surge at times like this. if everyone were so wise and aware of the future then there would have been a surge by now and both price and number of transactions would have increased considerably.
260  Economy / Speculation / Re: Amazon to accept Bitcoin as early as this October? on: October 02, 2017, 07:25:02 AM
i think this will eventually happen whether Amazon likes it or not. they can resist it all they want but eventually they have to give in. whether this October or next year or ... they will do it.

with the growth that bitcoin sees and also the competition that it is bringing with things such as OpenBazaar, things like Amazon will be screwed if they don't keep up with bitcoin and all that it offers.
