Hey everyone!  Just announced by Phil: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1320821.0.

In addition to the prize you'll get from me for finding a block, if you find the block between 9am and 9pm EST tomorrow (Sunday), Phil will provide a prize as well!

So, get your hashes pointed here tomorrow and let's crack a block!!
1082  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Jonny's Mining Emporium (bravo-mining.com) - Phil's Birthday Promo! on: January 09, 2016, 03:29:18 PM
LOL... hash is hash and it all has a chance to find a block Smiley
1083  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Jonny's Mining Emporium (bravo-mining.com) - Phil's Birthday Promo! on: January 09, 2016, 03:20:28 PM
Is anyone interested in joining a GROUP EFFORT tonight???

Both Kano and Bitminter have had an AWESOME day today -- and I was thinking about renting some hashing power and throwing it this way...

Anyone else interested in joining in to BREAK this block???

 Smiley Smiley Smiley

At this point I could throw in probably 10TH for a while.

Kano's pool has been KILLING it today.  Someone should sneak over there and just steal one of their blocks.  They'd never notice at this rate!  Cheesy
If you do throw some hash at the pool, remember, find a block and get 1.5BTC Smiley.

You are indeed.

Um... well, you might want to flash the firmware as a first step.  Go to S4 Firmware to get it from Bitmain.

Also, make sure you don't have that miner exposed to the outside world (i.e. you don't have port forwarding to it).  Change the password for sure.
1086  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [9 PH] Kano CKPool (kano.is) from the cgminer devs [0.9% PPLNS] on: January 08, 2016, 09:15:48 PM
You're configuring kano (or any other) pool in your S4, but it gets overwritten by what's in the screenshot?  You've been hacked.

EDIT: here's that address on blocktrail.

You and me both!  LOL... where did you get that?  I'm looking at the pool stats and see what you'd expect:

I blame the fertility goddess sitting on my s3
LOL!  You're certainly giving every idol a chance Smiley.  Baby Jesus, fertility goddess, quartz crystals, even rotisserie chickens...

I actually run my S5 at 20% fan in my home office.  Runs smoothly at 1155GH/s temps about 51.
1090  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Jonny's Mining Emporium (bravo-mining.com) - Phil's Birthday Promo! on: January 08, 2016, 03:30:11 PM
Well I decided to make a YouTube channel today and a bunch of videos about bitcoin mining.

Check out my channel
https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCWUKMMkJfgroUPfiOs3bQHg
Great gods those S7s are freaking loud!  I really like the exhaust venting right into your HVAC.  Nice setup.  Oh, and those EVGA PSUs are great choices, too.
1091  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Jonny's Mining Emporium (bravo-mining.com) - Phil's Birthday Promo! on: January 07, 2016, 02:17:21 PM
Hey aurel57.  Thanks for the support and welcome onboard Smiley.

One thing folks, I think we should refrain from being super negative towards users who might not agree or like jonny's pool.

It's up to each individual to decide how they want to earn their money - because in the end we are talking money here.

We just have to do our best to explain why bravo-mining or kano or ck solo or wherever is a better option.

If the person decides to go elsewhere that's on them.
+1.  I welcome everyone to make their own decisions on where to point gear.  After all, it is in fact your gear Smiley.  As I wrote in the very first post of this thread, my pool is here to offer you another option of where to hash.  If you happen to post factually incorrect nonsense here, however, I will certainly correct those misstated items.  That way hopefully people can learn from those mistakes.
1092  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Jonny's Mining Emporium (bravo-mining.com) - Phil's Birthday Promo! on: January 06, 2016, 09:34:05 PM
I am extending my hand out - to those folks who wish to mine on my pool.

You most certainly didn't hurt me.  What you did do, however, is claim that my pool is the unluckiest pool you've ever seen:
Such an unlucky pool I have ever seen in my life!
I refuted that claim by stating that in fact this pool is quite lucky having found its first block at only about 28% of expected shares.  Also, that we are in fact only 79% of expected shares for this round.  All you looked at was:
I have seen Jonny's pool going upto 1.2Ph to 2Ph during Christmas and New Year still not a single block has been found till today and I have accumulated my 500k shares there just being greedy. -_-
You are basing your understanding on "OMG!  f2pool is the best because they are the biggest!  Look how many blocks they solve!"

If the variance of a small pool is too much for you, which it certainly appears to be the case, then please do move somewhere you feel more comfortable.  As before, I highly recommend kano's pool.
1093  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Jonny's Mining Emporium (bravo-mining.com) - Phil's Birthday Promo! on: January 06, 2016, 08:36:56 PM
Such a lack of understanding of how a pool works.  Take a look at the pool statistics.  You can see as of right now we are only 78.79% of expected shares.  Our first block was found at about 28%.  Of course those other pools find multiple blocks a day... they have multiple PH mining on them constantly.

I'm sorry you don't feel that this pool is a good fit for you.  Since you are in fact leaving, I would much rather you chose a pool other than the one you seem to be favoring.  Give kano's pool a try.  He's grown rather nicely over the past week and is closing in on 10 PH.

I agree with Jonny.  You should really understand how pool payouts work (and the main differences between PPS and PPLNS).

Kano is a FAR better option than F2/Ant/etc.  Jonny is far better too.  We WILL hit blocks and when we do you'll get paid appropriately (it'll just be a larger chunk than the small ones you get from bigger pools).
It's too bad he feels the way he does.  Of course, the only other post of his on this thread is asking if I'd consider donating 2BTC and a portion of the block reward to him because he was caught up in some escrow scam.  By the way, if he really only does have 500k shares as he states, if we found a block right now, that'd translate into an expected payout of 0.00015335BTC.  We're not exactly talking about breaking the bank.  It's not even the minimum payout threshold.

That looks like an IPv6 address... here's what I get when I ping sg.kano.is:

ping sg.kano.is

Yeah, I'm currently in Florida, so hence the ping time Smiley
1099  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: 16nm ASIC, 10THS/MINER,100w/THS on wall. on: January 06, 2016, 04:38:05 PM
Yeah... let's evaluate...

10TH/s for 4.2BTC not gonna get it until April if I'm lucky.

(9.5TH) 2xS7 for 5.6BTC I have in my hands next week.

I mine for 12 weeks with those S7s before I have the possibility of getting yours.  Even with 10% increases every jump, I'm still going to mine about 3BTC in that timeframe.  That more than makes up for any price difference between the two miners.

Good luck with that.

LOL... I root for all the little guys and love it when we all find blocks Smiley.  I gambled a couple BTC yesterday on a 1PH rental for 12 hours on my pool... but the block gods did not smile upon me.
