10941  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Vitalik Buterin Satoshi Nakamoto? on: March 04, 2016, 09:05:48 PM
I'd say it's pretty much impossible, no way that a 14 year old could write something so complex as the Bitcoin whitepaper.

Well maybe I exaggerated a little bit, but there could exist the possibility of someone to become knowledgeable at an earlier age. Anyways, so far the winning votes are "NO" so that means it Vitalik could not be Satoshi in none ways. There are many theories about who Satoshi may be, but I think it may not be that important to know who he or she is.  Smiley
10942  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Announcing ZiftrCOIN Release on: March 04, 2016, 12:40:45 AM

Well done.  Steve Beauregard was at the Bitcoin Summit today & I asked him about ZRC.

He confirmed what the devs & I have been saying all along -- they are working on compliance...then merchants...then launching the coin.  He's just as frustrated as the investors, but they're not going to rush anything.

So, Whiners quit whining.

But where is the dev? I would really like to hear something about him because he has been very quiet about Ziftcoin (not to mention his activity in this thread) The thing about Gocoin is old news, I don't really see nothing new or innovative to make the coin move forward. Any reason on why I should invest in it?  Smiley
10943  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is your favorite PoS coin? on: March 03, 2016, 10:20:02 PM
There were some recent fixes regarding connectivity....can you give it another try? And did you try the download blocks option in  the top menu "rebuild blockchain"?

I will give it another try by downloading the latest wallet. About the download blocks option, I haven't figured that out yet but will try it out as well and see if it works. Hope to get back to GRC real soon.  Grin
10944  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Announcing ZiftrCOIN Release on: March 03, 2016, 09:40:15 PM
Devs have not abandoned ZiftrCOIN.

Ziftr recently merged with GoCoin.

https://bitcoinmagazine.com/articles/gocoin-ziftr-announce-merger-grow-payment-processing-platform-merchants-1434056454

Doing things well takes time.

Dev has been on this thread here & said he'd be back when he had news....no need to blah...blah...blah.

But if you look closely at the article, that same article is from a year ago and it is 2016 with nothing new announced about the coin. Looks like a ghost town especially in the official site which has old news from last year.  Roll Eyes
10945  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] MonetaryUnit [MUE] Quark based, CPU mining, faucet, explorer, pool, wallet on: March 03, 2016, 09:15:47 PM

Did you use the contact form on bank.muecentral.com ?
We'll never let anyone lose funds who deposit into MUEBank

I just used the last message I used to communicate with hoosen which was one that started with "muetant" and replied to it. But I haven't tried using the contact form there. I will give it a shot. Thanks.  Smiley
10946  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is your favorite PoS coin? on: March 03, 2016, 09:13:32 PM
I would pick Gridcoin (GRC), as it is one of the more interesting coins out there.

Gridcoin (GRC) replaces mining with doing research for scientific projects, for example to cure Ebola (http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/research/oet1/overview.do), fold proteins (https://boinc.bakerlab.org/) or find aliens (http://setiathome.ssl.berkeley.edu/).

From a user's point of view, he simply has to run simulations from the different projects using the BOINC software (http://boinc.berkeley.edu/). Then the network comes to a consensus, who has contributed how much computing power to BOINC, which can bee seen for example here (http://www.gridresearchcorp.com/gridcoin/?result&t=CPID_Leaderboard). In some blocks this consenus is saved in the blockchain and the reward one gets when staking a block is proportional to how much research was recently done for BOINC by this researcher.

I also has very active development, here is the main forum: https://cryptocointalk.com/forum/464-gridcoin-grc/
More information and tutorial to set it up here: www.gridcoin.us
If you are interested visit our IRC: https://kiwiirc.com/client/irc.freenode.net:6667/#gridcoin

At the beginning, I have found Gridcoin very interesting to help support science, but then after not getting any connections to the Gridcoin network at all, I got disappointed and left it. I would get back to it once I get at least a connection to the GRC network and start syncing the wallet.  Smiley
10947  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Vitalik Buterin Satoshi Nakamoto? on: March 03, 2016, 07:24:08 PM

The age is probably the number one reason why this would not be possible. Not because of the code, but because of the way he was communicating, that is not how a 14 year old communicates.

It would appear so indeed. Taking in consideration, everything I have seen about it I think my theory is nothing more than pure speculation. If Vitalik is not Satoshi, then it could be someone else out there (probably a very experienced programmer or a multimillionaire person with very good skills) But I wouldn't care much about who or whom Satoshi could be. The most important thing is that he created Bitcoin and the block chain.  Cheesy
10948  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ETH]Improved Doubler **3x Payout Promo** Verified Smart Contract on: March 03, 2016, 07:16:57 PM

How quickly you get your payout, depends on how often people are putting ether into the contract. So far 3 payouts have been completed, and everyone who put ether in has received their payouts within 24 hours. I will try to keep it as speedy as possible, if contract slows down, I'll lower payout multiplier further, to ensure speedier payouts. Since the pyramid is still small, payouts are very fast atm.

Also note, there is only ONE 3x payout spot left.

Thanks for the reminder. I hope to send ETH on time to be in this payout spot. I have been a little busy, but I will see if I can find some time to send some ETH today.  Smiley
10949  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Expanse (EXP) - Fair Launch, No ICO, Community DAO, based on Ethereum on: March 03, 2016, 06:30:12 PM
Expanse v1.3.4 (homestead)

Ethereum Protocol changes

  • EIP-7: New EVM opcode DELEGATECALL
  • EIP-2: Consensus rules changes
  • The gas cost for creating contracts via a transaction is increased from 21000 to 53000; All transaction signatures whose s-value is greater than secp256k1n/2 are now considered invalid;
  • OOG CREATE calls when there's insufficient gas for storing the code (as opposed to silently ignoring the code storage);
  • Difficulty adjust algorithm has changed to block_diff = parent_diff + parent_diff // 512 * max(1 - (block_timestamp - parent_timestamp) // 10, -99) + int(2**((block.number // 100000) - 2))

Fixes / Other
Decreased minimum accepted gas price

- Fixed windows p2p discover bug
- Fixed transaction sorting
- Implement EIP-8 p2p protocol upgrade
- Fixed downloader OOM

https://github.com/expanse-project/go-expanse/releases/tag/v1.3.4

Awesome. These are really some major improvements. Now that both EXP and ETH are in Homestead, things will really get kicking from now on. I will be carefully watching EXP for further updates.  Smiley

Bitcoin is a pocket calculator, Ethereum is a general purpose computer. - NickSzabo

This. ETH > BTC no discussion. 10$ ain't NOTHING yet people dumbing at these prices will be VERY short-sighted.

I agree with you mate. Given the fact that Ethereum's price has been increasing very fast over the last month, I would say that we could reach $20+ in the next days or month. Maybe by the end of 2016, ETH would be at $50+ don't you think?  Roll Eyes

same like me Cheesy
but the admin (i guess) is full respon via email at muebank (older name) Cheesy

I sent an email to the MUE Bank manager a few days ago, but haven't received a response yet. Maybe he is really busy and will get back to me in a later time. As long as I would be able to get back those funds invested at a later time, everything will be fine.  Smiley
10952  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Vitalik Buterin Satoshi Nakamoto? on: March 03, 2016, 05:30:55 PM
OP you can't be serious.
2008 when Satoshi published the Bitcoin white paper Buterin has hardly reached puberty. Cheesy
So no he is not Satoshi.Never ever!

Lol. So about my theory of Nakamoto being a girl, do you think it could be a possibility of doing so? Perhaps, she is a very smart programmer which tries to hide under a male name (Satoshi Nakamoto).  Roll Eyes
10953  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Vitalik Buterin Satoshi Nakamoto? on: March 03, 2016, 05:27:53 PM
VB -> born 1994. BTC -> white paper 2008.
Would have been age 14 FYI
Yea this may prove OP's theory completely wrong. And In my opinion Satoshi Nakamoto sound a name for old man don't you think? lol

I could be completely wrong as you might say, but I was just stating the possibility of whenever this could be true or not. As for the Satoshi Nakamoto name, it could be either a person or a group of people. Or maybe Nakamoto is a girl?  Roll Eyes
10954  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] MonetaryUnit [MUE] Quark based, CPU mining, faucet, explorer, pool, wallet on: March 03, 2016, 05:24:14 PM
MUE is by far the most profitable Quark coin to mine right now
http://www.coinwarz.com/miningprofitability/quark

This is actually interesting. It could attract more miners to get into MUE and help out the network. If I'd choose between MUE or Quark, I would take MUE as my most favorite. Why? Because seeing itself myself, it has huge potential than Quark itself. Just my opinion  Smiley
10955  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is your favorite PoS coin? on: March 03, 2016, 05:18:19 PM
peercoin for me too, it was the first one i think right? and the marketcap is still good after all those years
there is also diamond which look good to me, nice interest per year

Yes both Peercoin and Diamond are very good PoS coins. I also forgot to mention that Coin Magi (XMG) is also one of my favorite PoS coins. Not only you could earn stakes from the coins you hold but also it is minable with a unique mining algorithm (m7m) in which the higher the network hashrate, the less reward there is per miner.  Smiley
10956  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Vitalik Buterin Satoshi Nakamoto? on: March 03, 2016, 05:06:22 PM
VB -> born 1994. BTC -> white paper 2008.
Would have been age 14 FYI

That is true. But considering that he is very smart at just 22 years of age (based on calculations from this year) I think that he might knew something at just 14 years of age don't you think?  Roll Eyes
10957  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] - NEW BURST OP - MINE WITH YOUR HDD - ATs, AE, P2P MARKETPLACE, and MORE! on: March 03, 2016, 04:56:10 PM
Thanks daWallet as always!

The asset payout for ByteEnt is going to be a big one this month, with the extra close to 300k that was what I gave for the bonus, plus the extra from the blunder last month. Total payout about is 969,000 BURST!

I'm working on the processing of it now. Will post an update upon completion. Smiley Thank you as always for your trust and support, and stay tuned for more exciting information from Byte Enterprises!

edit - payouts complete for ByteEnt.

Another bounty, for some reason all of my bounties are not being picked up, so I'll probably be listing more info on them in a single location here soon, as the OP seems to not get much attention. lol.

Those are great news! I am a proud investor of ByteEnt asset and will continue to invest more into it as it looks very promising. About the pictures you've posted earlier, I would like to say that it is a really nice HDD setup you got there. And the cloud platform (cloud.crowetic.com) is getting pretty interesting as well. Good job!  Cheesy
10958  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Is Vitalik Buterin Satoshi Nakamoto? on: March 03, 2016, 04:44:09 PM
I know it may sound crazy, but given the fact that Vitalik is one the most smartest programmers in which he created the Ethereum platform himself (also with a very complex system) it makes me think whenever Vitalik may be Satoshi or not?

Please make your vote from the poll above, and share your opinion about it.  Smiley
10959  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How would Bitcoin handle TPS like Visa? on: March 03, 2016, 04:38:58 PM

Thank you for sharing this useful list. It will be of great use to me. I have just read the first pages and it looks like the best solution for Bitcoin right now. If this gets implemented into Bitcoin, it would improve it a lot in both transaction confirmation times and mainstream use.  Smiley
10960  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How would Bitcoin handle TPS like Visa? on: March 03, 2016, 12:48:06 PM
But doesn't the Lightning Network affect Bitcoin's security as well? I am not really sure but I have a bad feeling about it.
It does not do that at all. Transacting on the LN should be faster, cheaper and secure. Faster as in near instant (once a channel has been created). You definitely need to do more reading in regards to it. There are a few engineering challanges until it is ready but the development has been constantly progressing.

I guess I need to research more about the Lightning Network. Will reading the whitepaper be enough? If you would like to share some useful resources of information, I would greatly appreciate it. Hope the development to complete LN would not take too long  Cheesy
