Did you even read the thread? Dev is writing his own wallet for this so it's definitely more than "worthless" because there will be a valuable contribution.

So who will claim the reward for the whitepaper contest? If this is your own idea (it pretty much sounds like it), then this would be considered unfair because you can't just announce a contest with a reward, and then say "oh look I submitted my own whitepaper to myself and I decide that I won the contest, so I'll just keep the reward!!"   That's not how it works dude.

Somehow the linked market is https://novaexchange.com/market/LTC_ESP/ though, which does not exist because it's still called ESP2 on Novaexchange.   I have no idea why the displayed daily volume and price on CMC are still correct.

I can confirm that things are happening in the background. Some additional people (me included) have agreed to spend some money and time to bring this project forward technology-wise, hopefully we will have a better ANN post soon, and some extensions to the wallet will be made in the upcoming weeks and months.

There are different visions for this project currently being discussed on Slack, about how blockchain technology and the music industry can be brought together. Stay tuned and accumulate coins as long as we're still in the reflection phase.

When people are talking about dev doing an "ICO" do you mean devs selling their personal shares?? That's nothing you can expect, if you want to vote then vote with your own money.

Yes, much of the value, not everything - there are also other aspects of trust and speculation that make the price of a coin. Somehow the overall value has still increased.

Also, security cannot be measured in a floating number, it is binary - is there someone who can break it, or not? It does not make sense to talk about "better security" if the coin with the lower hash rate can still not be broken - why would this affect the price then?

Thirdly, if Gary would use his money cashed out from XZC partly to pay a decent developer, who is as good as Poramin, then there would still be no fundamental differences, so why would people prefer either one? Just thinking theoretically here, I'm not defending Gary at all.

In fact this is a pretty interesting case of value making in cryptocurrencies. Theoretically, forking one chain into two would not significantly affect the value of either chain, so that the overall value has doubled, which is paradoxical! I love this.

The best way to profit from this situation is to keep your coins in your local wallet, and install both wallets - your private keys are the same, so you can just copy your wallet.dat. The fundamentals have not changed, except that we have two different developers now, one of which has a lot of skill, and the other has a lot of money from tricking people. Both factors can make each project successful, even if they are not working together.

Essentially, you will have your balance in both chains simultaneously, and independently after the fork happened. If you still have them on exchanges at that point, your coins will only belong to the chain the exchange chooses for you.

Of course, if you think that 10.000 is a fair reward, you are free to send it to me regardless.  Feedback so far seems to be positive.

Proof of Suicidal

It might be interesting to have coins commit "suicide" when the wallet is NOT online! Like an inverse PoS. Suicide rate would be a fixed percentage of the wallet's amount, like 0.1% each time. I'm not a blockchain programmer so I don't know how difficult this would be.

What is required is:
1) Each wallet keeps track of which addresses hold how many coins, excluding empty addresses.
2) A decentralized method to agree on one non-empty address (like the PoS mechanism).
(Alternatively, agree on any valid address and if its value is zero, nobody loses coins)

If the address agreed on can proof it is online right now by signature (like PoS), it can insert a veto and won't lose any coins. If it is not online, it will be agreed that 0.1% of that addresses coins will commit suicide and be subtracted from the wallet's balance.

This creates a balance between a number desirable objectives:
1) Spending coins in order to not lose them.
2) Keeping the wallet online in order to support the network.
3) Working against inflation to keep the price high even if people are mining
4) If mining gets harder, the value will increase even more because the amount of coins reduces.

The metaphor would be, if one wallet is able to veto, it is still "alive", but probably suicidal. If it does not reply, it committed suicide so that's what we write into the blockchain.
