Are you serious?! :-/ Why do you even offer to take over this coin if you are not fully dedicated about it anyway?!
1162  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Official Titcoin™ [TIT] Discussion Forum (2016 XBIZ Awards Nominee) on: September 26, 2016, 09:08:37 PM
Ultimately when it boils down to it, people having sex for money is really no different to prostituting oneself for entertainment, for example Ed Balls on strictly come dancing, it is commercial prostitution in the name of entertainment, so when the law states that prostitution is illegal (UK) then I find it amusing how people prostitute themselves for money against products etc on TV, to me there is no difference. So is it really appropriate to give the adult industries a bad name, after all there are probably verifiable high level people peddling most of the content anyway.

Prostitution usually means giving away your body for money, not your actions. Porn actors are still having sex on their own, not let the viewers have sex with them. That's like saying all Hollywood actors would be prostituting themselves to the public. It's a definition of prostitution that does not work well.

Question: You seem interested, so let me ask you, why is it important that people use Titcoin (or XXXcoin) instead of money issued from national banks? What is the advantage to them as businesses (apart from with POS etc being able to increase their wealth) if you could present one or more arguments for moving across to these payments, what would they be? I know what my answer would be, but I would like to know community reasons why it would be a good thing for the adult industry, what advantage is it to them??

  • Low processing fee
  • Fast processing speed
  • Higher incentive to spend money. People will usually buy more Titcoin than they need at that moment. So what do you do with Titcoins if not spend them? Just like iTunes vouchers. If you have it, you are more likely to spend it early rather than waiting until you actually need it.
  • Privacy. When you have it, nobody will notice when you spend it.
  • Easy to set up. This is crucial for independent or smaller actors, cammers etc. You can just insert a QR code into the video to spend money to (I think this was your idea lol). No need for a payment service, for someone to set it up for you, integrate it into a web page etc. Every cammer girl can use it. You could also integrate a bell for incoming Titcoins into the wallet. Cheesy For small businesses, it is still simpler than CC etc. as you can post the address on a web page and manage incoming payments by hand.

The critical question is how to get them. Figuring out how to use Yobit or Polo is too much for the average user. Your job as a developer is to invent a nifty way of buying Titcoins easily while maintaining privacy. Probably either some kind of micro-exchange, or by buying TIT from the market and selling to the people at an average price.
1163  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Official Titcoin™ [TIT] Discussion Forum (2016 XBIZ Awards Nominee) on: September 26, 2016, 05:44:33 PM
What about the stolen TIT coins ?? from trex hack, what if you make it shine again and the thief dump on you & ruin the market ?
It would much wiser to start from scratch because this plague will follow TIT for ever!

In addition, 1 million Titcoins were stolen and subsequently dumped onto the market. That is why there was a huge sell off last week dropping the price to its current level.

He already dumped a large portion of it, he cannot dump it again. Also this was probably a portion of the "premine" that has already been dumped now. The current price is real. Just as always, only make a swap if there are good technical reasons for it. We have TIT already on Bittrex, why make a new one or go through the hassle of swapping without need?

and The Mining Huh Huh Huh Huh
(...)
As for the in-wallet mining we are wrapping up the feature.
Remember it will be using optimized miners and will allow you control them from within the client.

It's funny how people take things for granted when in times of Litecoin it was completely normal to pay big $$$ for dedicated GPU miners. It still is, devs just paid that money on their own to integrate it into the wallet for free, and people are still whining about why it takes so long. xD

If you want it sooner, you should better have paid your own $700 some months ago for someone to write it for you.

Good news. Titcoin dev is back. A new dev has been found. Looking forward to the future of this coin.  Cheesy

Have someone used the wallet on a pi for stacking ?
thanks

Yes, I do. Works like a charm, except a little weird problem with the labeling of addresses that the devs know about.
1167  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: | ANN | Espers [ESP] | New Algo | New Features In Development | Reverse-ICO | on: September 22, 2016, 02:55:42 PM
Hello guys, can anyone help me recover my espers. I have a backup of wallet.dat which is very old. I replaced wallet.dat file on a new pc that I installed esper client. When I try to open esper I get error. Please help!

I assume your backup is of espers v1, since it's old.
Are you trying to use it with the new wallet? If so, that's why it doesn't work.

Yes. The backup is of espers v1. Yes. I tried to use it with new wallet and it doesn't work. Should I download esper v1 and try again? Where can I download esper v1?

Thanks.

If you are posting binaries on a 3rd party hoster you should supply a checksum of the original file with it so people can verify that you are not giving them Trojan viruses. It would be better if Devs would upload a binary of the R1 wallet on their own server.

Rule #1 of computer security, do not run binaries that have been given to you by strangers from the internet.
1168  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: | ANN | Espers [ESP] | New Algo | New Features In Development | Reverse-ICO | on: September 17, 2016, 07:08:31 PM
How about a stake report feature?
A window that shows how much a wallet stakes each day so we don't have to calculate ourselves.

The NAV wallet has it so you can check it out to see exactly what I mean

That's a great idea! We can put that into the "generate" page in where the PoS area is already predefined as well to make it easier.
We'll definitely look into making that feature.

What do you think about adding a relative weight display somewhere near the net weight, so I don't have to divide the "your weight" by the "network weight" to get my relative staking weight? The problem is not the dividing, but typing off the huge numbers from that stupid bubble notification.  Grin  Also not having to pull out my calculator would help.

I already posted this on Slack but got no response for it.

Compile the command line wallet and run:

espersd sendtoaddress ***address*** ***amount***

With a batch file you can run it multiple times automatically

There you go. Problem solved.  Cool

I don't have the time right now to write a fully documented and foolproof bash script, but maybe someone else can do it?

Each can be sent to novaexchange more and less, now I can only send a 1100000, I have about 500 million coins, if at this rate I have 1000 times to send completed, and each can send the number every time, so need longer time to complete. Is there any way to quickly finish it?

Sadly i'm having the same problems too.
But mine i only able to send less then 100,000 per-transaction to Novaexchange, and sadly everytime i send my limit getting smaller and smaller...at this rate this will take me several days or several weeks for me to transfer all my ESP1 to Novaexchange.

i really hope the admin can help us to solve this problems.
So we can send/transfer all our ESP1 to Novaexchange in just one go, without doing this over and over again...because this can took several weeks to finished  Undecided

This is a limitation of the old chain, no workaround.

But there should be a way to automate this, right? I don't know whether it is possible to send coins via the command line, but if it is then you can write a simple script to split the amount of coins to send into many small transactions ... otherwise, our 5 star programmers should be able to do the same in C++ and integrate it into the wallet, possibly in a transparent way so the program itself uses this method if the limit for a single transaction would be exceeded.
1171  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: | ANN | Espers [ESP] | New Algo | New Features In Development | Reverse-ICO | on: September 13, 2016, 08:55:02 PM
hi, as I unfortunately do not have much linux experience, there is an understandable guidance on this? will not figure the doc?

It's really simple. Clone the git repo, read the file Espers/doc/readme-qt.rst. It contains the commands that you have to execute inside the Espers/ folder.

If you don't know how to use a command line, or how to use git, I suggest that you learn that, first. It is required for anything that is related to programming or compiling programs. Except when you are programming in Java lol.  Grin

Why are the POS rewards of different size btw? I have learned from other coins that the reward size is constant ... Huh
1173  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: | ANN | Espers [ESP] | New Algo | New Features In Development | Reverse-ICO | on: September 12, 2016, 09:46:58 AM

EDIT2: it accepted the key but added a different address, so no coins :-(
Use both compressed and uncompressed privkey to import.

I tested the steps, and i got the same address in esp2.

YEAH that worked! :-)

gimme your esp2 address so I can tip you something ;-)

Are you saying that there is no need to use novaexchange to transfer ESP1 coin to ESP2 wallet ?

No he just recovered a private key for the ESP1 address. You still have to swap in order to switch to the new chain.

Would it be beneficial to forward certain ports to the wallet? I don't use UPnP for security reasons. Which port would I need to forward?
1175  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: | ANN | Espers [ESP] | New Algo | New Features In Development | Reverse-ICO | on: September 12, 2016, 08:54:58 AM
I don't use UPnP in my network, but the checkbox to disable it in the settings of the new ESP wallet is greyed out. Which port do I have to forward to make it work better? Or is there even a need to?

Edit: Default port seems to be 22447 22448 TCP. Do I have to prevent the wallet from trying UPnP, or is it enough to just forward the port?
Edit2: Forwarding this port gave me a significant increase in connections.

Dear  Novaexchange,

it would be good if you answer my email/pm, and we can talk about your big security bug what i found yesterday!

Thx,
Elbandi

If you found something send a email.. not a PM here.. Thanks  Smiley
Already did as soon as i found the bug, at 16:59 GMT.... but no answer from support@  Angry

I have never seen Novaexchange answer an email, ever ... I think their support@ address is being forwarded to /dev/null. Roll Eyes Personally I don't trust that site an inch any more, just hoping that they will not lose their ESP funds to a script kiddie again ...  Angry
1177  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: | ANN | Espers [ESP] | New Algo | New Features In Development | Reverse-ICO | on: September 10, 2016, 11:32:46 PM
Thank you all for understanding. Here is a teaser of the client Smiley
Please bear in mind that it will go through many changes. We have just finished it up enough to get this swap done and over with so we can look towards the future instead of futzing around.

Wuuut ... shut up and take my money! Cheesy

Seriously, I don't see why people are going crazy about this swap today ... it will be running for how long, 2 months? Doesn't even matter, it's more than enough. Probably it's even a safer choice to just watch for a few days and see if that Nova swap thing works ... or if they'll get hacked again ... I think everybody should just calm down and ask any questions as they appear.

The new wallet will be released soon enough I am sure, you are not going to lose anything if you are not the first one.
1178  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: | ANN | Espers [ESP] | New Algo | New Features In Development | Reverse-ICO | on: September 10, 2016, 06:03:34 PM
@Everyone,

First new node is coming online now. Please allow for a few more hours to get Nova this news and the source so they can get the swap started. After that we will release the new client and github the source.

Does the new client use the same config folder on GNU/Linux as the old wallet? Or can I run both at the same time? I would like to swap my coins in multiple steps to make sure everything is working, so it would be helpful to have both wallets functional simultaneously.

It is me, coins4lunch, your faithful dev...

I have been in terrible car accident and I have been in coma for a month or two. I have woken up but I am covered in bandages so typing is slow.

Still... I work on this coin  Grin. Updated OP and business direction in a few days.

Trust in EVIL, it will never lie to you!

I don't know if it's EVIL to say this but ... KARMA is a bitch  Grin  Creating an evil coin, you have an "unfortunate" car accident ... this is no coincidence ... I think I'll better stay away from this dangerous coin!  Shocked

I am really delighted to see you back in action though. Welcome back from the dead. EVIL coin dev is now officially a zombie himself!  Cheesy

My seventh sense tell me that many Espers are going to be burned on Yobit, because many initial users had stored them in the exchange and then has forgotten about them!

Ok then everyone please just leave your coins on Yobit, so the coin value will increase for the rest of us.  Tongue  Let's hope that Tekna's magic abilities are better than mine, as I don't see anything ...  Grin

@Everyone,

Okay so we have some REALLY cool news in my opinion.
Today I got the go ahead to announce that CryptoCoderz will be partnering up with a physical computer shop here in California.
We'll get you their details here in a bit later however something you can begin to expect is more nodes that will be on the new chain, we will soon be offering services and feature a marketplace as well that will be conducted completely with the use of Espers (well and BTC).
Locals will be soon able to purchase items from the store and even get their computer repaired for Espers/BTC.
Before anyone asks, no this isn't a brand new business, they've been around for a couple years and decided they'd like to try the crypto field when they were presented with the idea.

Also, we will have more news on swap details sometime tomorrow.

Thank you everyone once more! Let's see where this takes us.

This is amazing! I have seen coins going to the million just for the promise of being used for real purchases. This will be a big one, I am sure.
