11021  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What were your experiences with Bitcoin when you first started? on: February 23, 2016, 06:35:58 PM
If you do your homework right then your expectations will be real. Try to learn as much as you can before using bitcoin.

Thanks for your advice. In fact, I have been planning my way towards BTC success by learning more into it each day, saving/collecting Bitcoins, and diversifying my investments. It has been slow, but in the end I think it will be very rewarding. My plan is already set up to reach the goal of having 1 BTC.  Grin
11022  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] MonetaryUnit [MUE] Quark based, CPU mining, faucet, explorer, pool, wallet on: February 23, 2016, 06:33:13 PM

Our MUE in-wallet buying api/site will hopefully allow the use of ShapeShift shifty button to allow people to buy MUE using the alts listed on ShapeShift, which should be a benefit as we then target a wider crypto audience.

Excellent. This is definitely ideal for MUE. I am waiting for more new and exciting things to come up for MUE. Next step would be to strengthen its price to become listed into the top 10 in Coinmarketcap? Do you think this would be possible in the future? I really think it would happen. That is why I am holding MUE as much as I can. I am very optimistic.  Grin
11023  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][CSC] ♠ CasinoCoin v2.1 ♥ New Wallet ♦ 2.5+ Years Old ♣ on: February 23, 2016, 06:28:36 PM
The exchange you're on is so important to a coin, sure features matter.....
but the coin has to be where those features are exposed to the people that trade and invest
While you develop even more use and features.

That is why we need to move together as a community and try to expose the CSC name all over the web. It could be over social media, or any other method that would help promote CSC. I have been doing my part by telling my friends from college all about it and my next step would be to promote it over Facebook. We also need better trading activity to keep moving forward. Just my opinion.   Cheesy

Nevertheless, I think that what matters most is usability instead of price for now.  Roll Eyes
11024  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What were your experiences with Bitcoin when you first started? on: February 23, 2016, 06:22:48 PM
My first experience with bitcoin was very bad, back in 2014 I wast start using bitcoin as  a faucet player, I claim many faucets for earn some bitcoins, but when a complete day I claim bitcoin and calculate my earning that was only less than 0.001BTC.. then I decided to leave bitcoin...

I passed through the same thing as you mate spending lots of time in front of a computer claiming faucets every time, nonstop without taking a break. I thought that I would make a pretty good amount of Bitcoins, but on the contrary I earned less than what I spent in faucets. It was then that I realized that I needed another way to earn Bitcoins. And so, I enrolled into a signature campaign and started trading Bitcoins. The result of this was much better than claiming satoshis from faucets.  Grin

11025  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Ethereum: Welcome to the Beginning on: February 23, 2016, 06:16:20 PM

The price has risen to recent high now. Will it go pass the all time high again in the near future?

It could exist the possibility of doing so, now that ETH is gaining more traction on different exchanges, not to mention it is getting even more attention than usual. The way I see how ETH's price moves positively, is a good sign that it might be worth a whole lot more than what it is right now. I am hoping that we will be able to see price of $10+ for ETH in the next. Just wait and see.

P.S. Comparing BTC and ETH's price movement, ETH is mostly going towards a positive trend while Bitcoin is declining most of the times. I just found that by analyzing Coinmarketcap's charts.  Smiley
11026  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think about ZCash? on: February 23, 2016, 06:12:03 PM
ZCash is corporate and premined. I don't want money to be controlled by a corporation. 'nuff said.

Sadly it will enjoy popularity as the PR offensive is underway already and greed has apparently become the main motivator in the crypto world.

I'm not commenting on the other 2, there is plenty of material for research in this forum.

q.e.d.

Premine and corporate dont count anymore these days, people look for technology and usecase. A person that wants to stay as anonymouse as possible just gets his hand on the coin and doesnt care about whether its premined or something else.

Possibly true, but I think the fact of having a premine would make the coin less valuable in my opinion. It will all depend on the amount of premined coins and the available/maximum supply to give a solid value to the crypto currency. A great feature for ZCash would be zk-SNARKs which would allow its network to maintain a secure ledger of balances without disclosing the amounts involved (unlike the BTC's blockchain)  Smiley
11027  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Expanse (EXP) - Fair Launch, No ICO, Community DAO, based on Ethereum on: February 23, 2016, 06:07:40 PM
Definitely,

there are no doubts SHAPESHIFT is suitable place to shift EXP.

That will be next step to build stronger brand.

Good initiative.

Absolutely. And the good thing about Shapeshift is that exchange between coins is instantly without an account needed. If EXP, gets listed there it will be of huge benefit and interest to it, since I think that most users would prefer to buy their coins without all the process of making accounts, etc. I am waiting for this to happen. Still, I am going to keep buying EXP. Prices are pretty good at the moment.  Grin

When I saw that ZCash was backed by a corporation/organization, I had my suspicions since truly decentralized cryptos like Bitcoin didn't had such thing. That was my only concern, but I guess this would not make it as decentralized as they would claim it to be. Other than that, it could be a great opportunity to make huge profit, if you come in earlier and invest into it.  Smiley
11029  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is your favorite PoS coin? on: February 23, 2016, 11:45:13 AM
My fave POS coin is definitely BIGUP, but that's because I want to Big It UP.

100% yearly stake with the best growing community ever.

BIGUP!

Now that is a huge stake rate if you ask me. I'll check into it and see how much profit I could earn.  Grin

Thanks for your reply!

This coin looks very interesting to me, especially the interest rate. Seeing how active it is in dev and community, I think I am off to a good start investing in it. Will look more into it Cheesy
11031  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum vs Lisk on: February 23, 2016, 11:39:58 AM

The semantics question asks what the difference between a private-chain and side-chain really is, assuming a private-chain has the same ability (if employed by its developer) to hook into the mainchain.

Agree that Ethereum 's model is the more deecntralized, global, visoonary, god-like.
Wrapping my head around the idea that EThereum is a computer (albeit a slow one) which can do anything is challenging/inspiring.
Bearing in mind all the firmware/hardware hacks happening these days ETH is the only "trustless computer" in the world today.

For me, I think Ethereum could be better than Lisk due to its complexity. It has features that look far more complex than Lisk in my opinion. Also, don't forget that a very smart programmer (Vitalik) is behind the Ethereum so that could be a good sign to keep it moving forward with very promising features. When I see Lisk, I see it as another Crypti clone, but I could be wrong  Roll Eyes

Anyways, it is not bad to grab some ICO coins now and then dump them for profit once there is a price increase.  Smiley
11032  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Configuring miners for testnet Bitcoins? on: February 23, 2016, 02:00:47 AM
You can't simply put testnet and mine, it works like the regular mining.
You can try and find a pool that mines on testnet and point your miners to it.
ck used to run a solo pool for testnet mining but he corrected me not too long ago that he shut it down and it cannot be used anymore. You should try finding something similar.

Thanks for your advice. I will see what I can find in order to mine testnet Bitcoins, in regard to a mining pool. Since difficulty should be lower than mainnet, it would allow me to test a few miners and get some test coins along the way.  Smiley
11033  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [IOC][ I/O Digital ] I/O Coin - Identity SideChain - Private Messaging - POS I/O on: February 22, 2016, 09:50:21 PM

IMPORTANT:  Anyone who has the QT wallet and wants to try the HTML wallet.  First Back up your wallet.dat file  to at least 2 places.

Then you have to COMPLETELY remove all the I/OCoin files.

Then and only then, can you instal the HTML wallet.

Any trace of the QT wallet will cause problems with the HTML wallet.

Great. Thanks for your advice. I thought at first that I could have both the QT wallet and the HTML wallet, but to be safe I didn't proceed until I would ask about it. Luckily, you came earlier with a response. Say, by chance is there any paper wallet generator for I/O Coin that I could use as cold storage?  Smiley
11034  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][LISK] Lisk | ICO | Decentralized Application & Sidechain Platform on: February 22, 2016, 09:46:54 PM
This looks like a very promising platform for decentralized applications. I hope it can go head to head against ETH and eventually become the most used dapp platform. The thing that I like the most about Lisk is that it uses a very familiar language for me, which is JavaScript. I will surely invest into some ICO coins later this week.  Smiley
11035  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum vs Lisk on: February 22, 2016, 09:44:45 PM

Wow I am impressed. Especially the part where it says that Lisk has or will have a GUI wallet, whereas Ethereum still doesn't have a stable release  Roll Eyes

This is a very good detailed chart to compare between Lisk and Ethereum. Which will be the best will be up to development and usability. Thanks for sharing this.  Grin
11036  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is your favorite PoS coin? on: February 22, 2016, 09:02:37 PM
Nxt is the most innovative one.

It really does indeed. But sometimes I wonder why it is so undervalued (at least to me) It has the most advanced features I have seen in a crypto currency with Asset Exchange, aliases and even a decentralized marketplace. My most favorite is the decentralized marketplace.  Smiley
11037  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What were your experiences with Bitcoin when you first started? on: February 22, 2016, 08:59:52 PM

Yup bitcoin have big future to rule the world with its ability. We are not early adopters of bitcoin. Still you can feel proud you may be first among people in your city who know about bitcoin. If possible spread it as much you can dude. Because Bitcoin price is based on the demand. Help that to happen soon.

Thanks for your advice. In fact, I have been doing this by telling my friends about Bitcoin and crypto currencies, in which they are glad that they have gotten into it thanks to me. Still, there are many people where I live that haven't heard about Bitcoin so it is a good thing to keep spreading the word about it. Now I am focusing in everything from social media and beyond.  Grin
11038  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What were your experiences with Bitcoin when you first started? on: February 22, 2016, 08:49:42 PM
I was first aware of it in 2009. Forgot completely. Became dimly aware again in 2011. Did nothing. Got rolling properly in mid 2013. I feverishly read up on it for a couple of weeks. Looked up Gox, thought 'this is the NASDAQ of Bitcoin? Fuck that' and went to localbitcoins.

Almost all of the 'opportunities' and businesses looked like blatant scams to me and time proved it to be correct. I've learnt vast amounts of new stuff along the way.

Similar stuff. I found out about bitcoin in 2010, decided it was a neat idea but had no potential, and went on with my life. The late 2014/2015s roll around and I find myself realizing that the price is now in the hundreds. Definitely one of the things I regret the most, but I'm still happy that I got in the game relatively quickly.

Similar thing happened to me mate. While I started with Bitcoin in 2014, I realized that I was a little too late considering that the price were around the hundreds, but I quickly invested some money into it and now look at the price. It is nearly double than what I had invested when I first started. If I knew about Bitcoins in 2009-2010 I would have bought a bunch of them and today I would have been a millionaire. But anyways, better late than never.  Cheesy
11039  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Expanse (EXP) - Fair Launch, No ICO, Community DAO, based on Ethereum on: February 22, 2016, 08:31:48 PM

There were a couple others, although we are the most successful by far in terms of volume and exchanges.

We also going to work on getting on foreign exchanges next, in order to increase overall visibility and demand world wide.

Those are great news for Expanse. Say, what about getting Expanse to be added on Shapeshift? It is a good exchange and I think it will do pretty well for the benefit of this exciting dapp platform. Just suggesting.  Roll Eyes

my wallet cant seem to connect either??

Me neither. I am getting 0 connections. Is this coin abandoned or something? It seems kinda weird to me now that it is the same dev as Expanse and Franko, but those coins have more discussions and development than this one. Am I missing something? This was a really good coin.  Sad
