11041  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What were your experiences with Bitcoin when you first started? on: February 22, 2016, 08:24:05 PM

When I start to work in bitcoin, I was not know How the people are earning and How bitcoin is running wend all. I have went with YouTube videos regarding bitcoin and its transactional method.
After I done Some works like signature campaign, some projects in bitcoin site making and etc. Then only I came to understand about bitcoin's ability.

Thanks for sharing your experiences. I think that signature campaigns are a great way to learn about Bitcoin and other crypto-currencies. By being into it, you get to learn and explore many new things that you didn't thought that it wouldn't be that way or even existed. I did learn (and am learning) a lot about Bitcoin and many new alts.  Grin

11042  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / What were your experiences with Bitcoin when you first started? on: February 22, 2016, 07:51:16 PM
I would like to know what experiences did you had when you first started with Bitcoins. As for me, I had many that I would like to share with you.

When I began in the Bitcoin world, I was a complete rookie with no proper knowledge of how did mining worked or anything about cryptocurrencies. I just thought about Bitcoin as another payment processor like PayPal. But when I joined the BitcoinTalk community, I learned so many things along the way. In my process of learning in the first days, I decided to invest into cloud mining services. Since I didn't knew much about it, I invested a plenty amount of Bitcoins to start my journey into it. During that time, I had gotten into many different services. Those were GAW Miners, then Cointellect, cloudminr.io and finally Hashnest. After getting scammed many times by the services mentioned previously, (except for Hashnest) I have lost many Bitcoins. As a result, I decided to never invest into cloud mining and thus dedicate myself into learning more about the cryptocurrency and look for other ways to earn Bitcoins. It was then that I enrolled into the signature campaign that I am currently into and during all that time I began to earn Bitcoins as well as diversify my investments into different alt coins. Now I am dedicated to trading Bitcoins and other alt coins, as well as working for it (like the signature campaign and working as a freelancer) in order to earn coins and build up my portfolio along the way.

Anyways, what would be your experiences with this exciting cryptocurrency?  Cheesy
11043  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is your favorite PoS coin? on: February 22, 2016, 07:47:28 PM
Among a varied list of alt coins that can be PoS mined, there are some that are proven to be useful and others have a high interest rate. Which would be your most favorite?

If I'd pick one I would choose Peercoin, since it is the oldest and first PoS coin that came into existence, and has good development and community. My second most favorite would be Tekcoin, since it pays a high interest rate (40%) every 30 days. But I'd see your experiences regarding PoS coins, and which would be your most favorite.  Smiley

Right now I am into valorbit a newly launched crypto coin that is both pow and pos since  I have more than 1 million of this coin and a 2% per annum interest this is the only Pos coin that I have but would like to add peercoin also because of it's high interest rate..

Looks like a pretty interesting PoS coin if you tell me. I will definitely have a look at it. Apart from that, I have found that Diamond pays a high interest and it is very scare which could make it very valuable in the long run. Same thing happens with Crypto Bullion (CBX) in terms of rarity.  Smiley
11044  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] MonetaryUnit [MUE] Quark based, CPU mining, faucet, explorer, pool, wallet on: February 22, 2016, 06:46:42 PM
I hope MUE will add to poloniex this year Smiley Wink
That would be great, though I would gladly accept higher volume and price on our current exchanges Cheesy

Poloniex and Bittrex would be ideal, but what about Shapeshift? The good thing about it is that you don't need an account to trade coins, so it would make it very handy to get MUE with your BTC instantly. Just suggesting.  Roll Eyes
11045  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Decentralized Exchanges? on: February 22, 2016, 06:35:13 PM
Best I can do, check this one:

https://shapeshift.io/

Also:

https://localbitcoins.com/

Thanks for your reply. I had used these exchanges but they seem to be centralized to me. Shapeshift is one of the best exchanges around, there is no doubt about it but I am looking more into decentralized exchanges where it is not managed by a central company or organization. If such exchange would be able to exchange BTC to fiat (USD), then it would be ideal for me. Once again, thank you for your cooperation. I really appreciate it.  Wink

This coin looks definitely worth the watch. Features look pretty interesting to me, especially the HTML5 wallet. The design looks awesome. I think it is pretty undervalued right now, but worth investing.  Cheesy

Hi,

The HTML5 wallet is already available for download.
We are creating version 2 that has a redesign of the functionality and addition of new decentralized features like messaging.

The current stable HTML5 wallet can be downloaded from www.iocoin.io

yes, it is undervalued right now. Especially when you see what we are developing right now. It is our mission to deliver DIONS. DIONS is basically "data on blockchain" that opens up numerous possibilities for companies and institutions.

Cheers and welcome to I/O Digital - I/O Coin

Richard

Excellent. I have a look at it right over. This is the most exciting crypto yet. Development is going pretty well. The DIONS is a killer feature which I would be greatly interested into once it releases. I am going to buy some I/O now.  Cheesy
11047  Economy / Trading Discussion / Decentralized Exchanges? on: February 22, 2016, 06:04:11 PM
I am looking for a list of decentralized exchanges where I could exchange BTC to alt coins or vice versa. Also, if there would be such exchange that would allow to exchange fiat to BTC, then it would be great. I would appreciate your help with this.  Smiley
11048  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum vs Lisk on: February 22, 2016, 05:54:43 PM
Lisk will crash and burn.

All the perfect infredients for a pump and dump

1.  Rushed development of unoriginal idea to get on ETH bandwagon
2.  Fork of unknown scamcoin
3.  Developer who asks on ethereum reddit for help understanding javascript
4.  Promoted through spam

That could be right, but as I see that Lisk supports JavaScript, I am pretty sure that most developers would get used to it and thus make it easier to use the Lisk platform. JS is very popular so it might give a good start to Lisk. By the way, ICO has just started but I will wait a few days to invest a little into it.  Grin
11049  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: What is your PoS strategy? on: February 22, 2016, 01:57:55 AM
My strategy is to avoid any and all PoS coins. I believe PoS is based on a fallacy; it requires zero investments other then just having to own some coins and everyone staking gains coins at the exact same rate as everyone else so if everyone gains coins at the same rate then nobody really gains anything. Why would you lock up your money in any coin for 5-10-20-50 or whatever percent when crypto can and does change much more in a single day? It's a pointless excercise in crypto and it's worse than gambling.  PoS only coins are a complete joke where "investors" are trading coins with absolutely arbitrary price between each other. While mining has plenty of issues at least it gives coins security and a floor price because it actually cost something to produce each coins unlike worthless PoS coins with completely made up value.

Thanks for reply. I started to get that feeling when I had some coins to stake, but it was rare that I would receive a stake due to difficulty and other factors. Also, I thought about the security so that is a +1 for mining. I think I would just stick to good old PoW coins like Bitcoin and Litecoin. Considering that Bitcoin has a very high difficulty, I would mine Litecoins for now and exchange them for BTC.

Until a fair PoS system comes in, I would just stick to PoW.  Smiley
11050  Bitcoin / Mining / How to make a RPi mining pool? on: February 22, 2016, 12:48:38 AM
What exactly do I need to do to make a mining pool with my Raspberry Pi 2? I am looking for an easy to setup software to get everything up and running. A Bitcoin mining pool would be great, but if there is also one for alt coins, then please let me know where or how I could get started.  Smiley

I think you mean coin Tongue
To make the statement Casinocoin is dead simply is not true, there is several people/businesses who have invested several thousands of dollars at this point and I don't think they would let their investment go to waste, it will take time just like anything else. Bitcoin is still recovering from MtGox just like us and many other coins are from cryptsy. Just because there is no volume on Alcurex right now does not mean Casinocoin is dead either.
If you look at their trade volume it just shows they are an upcoming exchange and do not have close to the userbase cryptsy did yet.
Weekly Vol: BTC: 7.120 | LTC: 103.57 | MRC: 1515418 | Users: 3369

Have some faith!

Id be interested in a physical Casinocoin like you have in your thread, and im sure others here would be too

I would surely love to own a physical Casinocoin someday, to add to my collection of physical crypto coins. As for the price, I think it could be a great opportunity to buy more CSC, as it would definitely recover once everything gets settled in the exchanges, etc. After what happened with Cryptsy, I think it might need some time to see the real price of CSC. I am still holding faithfully to see CSC reach $1 USD or above.  Grin
11053  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Alt coins worth buying on: February 22, 2016, 12:11:54 AM
I think the ones that are really worth it are Ethereum and Maidsafe. They have great technology and full of features that are very promising. Considering that Ethereum is a decentralized platform and Maidsafe is the decentralized internet, they would prove to have great potential in the near future.  Grin

Is this project still alive? I can barely tell it since dev doesn't look active providing updates related to it in this thread. It is rather disappointing, now that it seemed like  a project that had a very strong potential. Also, is there a list of nodes I could find? I am getting 0 connections to the FAI network.  Sad

They look pretty awesome. I have been waiting some time for this and now it is a reality. This will serve as a very handy tool for cold storage purpose, which I would use to have some reserve EXP just in case the price keeps going up in the future. I can't imagine what new and exciting thing for Expanse will come up next. I think that current prices right now are extremely cheap. Just wait and see.  Cheesy
11057  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / What do you think about ZCash? on: February 21, 2016, 08:56:18 PM
There has been announcements going around lately about a new cryptocurrency called ZeroCash (or ZCash) who purpose is to provide better anonymity and secure transactions. What do you think about? Will it be able to become so popular that it could rival Monero, ShadowCash, or even Dash? I am keeping an eye on this one, as it might probably become the next Bitcoin if it proves to be useful and can keep up with its promised features.  Roll Eyes
11058  Bitcoin / Mining support / Configuring miners for testnet Bitcoins? on: February 21, 2016, 08:49:50 PM
Just asking how it is really done since it is a little confusing to me, now that it would be my first time to set up testnet mode from within Bitcoin Core. When configuring CGminer, or a similar mining software, what do I need to do for the miners to begin mining testnet coins? Also, will it be compatible with normal mining pools, or is there one specific for testnet?

Wondering how it could be done, I thought it was all about placing my testnet into the mining pool configuration, but I am not so sure it would do the trick. Anyone tried this?  Huh

Man as soon as I get myself updated with the latest CBX version here I'm going to for sure get some staking going on with this freaking GEM!!!

I'm glad you see it that way. CBX is more like gold or silver, but in a digital form. Prices has been stable these days, but I am going to hold and stake CBX for the next massive pump (like the one that happened around 2 days ago). As soon as there is less supply, the more valuable it would be I think.  Cheesy

Become a $MUE whale!
There's a 6 million $MUE sell wall at 100 sats (7%+ of total supply).
https://bittrex.com/Market/?MarketName=BTC-MUE

I think had a positive effect in MUE's price as I see it has increased a little, according to Coinmarketcap. I gueess this is a good sign after all. Time to buy and hold MUE.  Grin
