1161  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: - AURORACOIN - on: March 10, 2017, 08:43:28 AM
Are there any plans on doing some basic wallet improvements?

The wallet takes like 10 minutes to start on a dualcore and writes ~700 MB of data in the debug.log each time it does.

This is one of the slowest wallet I have ever encountered.

I had to revert to the previous spreadminer mod, the new one has a chance of hard freezing the rig when the miner starts. Anyone had this?

Ehh, 15% premine.

That's 450 million coins while the blockreward is 100...

is it stuck on block 45 ?

100 Gh/s would need an hour to find a block. Guess it's just some bad luck.

Edit: and it's going again.

My wallet corrupted again. Bit it's not wallet.dat itself but the content of trie.dat now being empty so I just had to use an older backup of it.

Code:
Assertion failed!

Program: cryptonite-qt.exe
File: trieview.cpp, Line 30

Expression: fread(buf,sz,1,filein)>0

Interesting: trie.dat is part of the blockchain, not of the wallet.
So you replaced that file and it's working fine again?
If that is the issue, we could trigger trie download when such a situation is detected.

Unfortunately it doesn't work;

Code:
ERROR: DisconnectBlock() : no undo pos vailable
Activate failed
ERROR: ActivateBestChain() : inputs missing/spent

If I delete trie.dat the wallet won't open after the initial loading (CPU usage drops to 0 after a couple of minutes and there's no GUI).

Code:
LoadBlockIndexDB(): transaction index enabled
Best Block: 0000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000

The default intensity in Spreadminer 10 is too high. A bunch of my rigs keep hard crashing sometimes (not always) if I start mining SPR.
1169  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][HLM] HELIUM - PRE NOTICE on: March 06, 2017, 05:40:56 AM
I don't think sending the majority of all SPR to escrows is a good idea.

I'm not comfortable with risking it. I find burning to be also a bad idea.

Why not just set a future block and use that date to determine all SPR balances (ignoring all transactions after the selected block height) and have people sign their addresses to prove ownership and claim?

This requires manual work but latecomers could claim as well because it's clear to prove past balances.

A full snapshot would probably be the best solution but what would happen to exchange addresses with lot of coins?

But with manual swap the devs would have to also hold a huge amount of coins waiting for swap which some might dislike.

The algo switching it's internal to the SpreadX11 algorithm (hashing functions). It's not about closing ccminer Wink. In a multigpu environment, with an high number of models and versions, it's hard to find the highest stable clock (let's call it HSC), and this leads to the need of a proper testing, which is a bit complex given the absence of a pool in this case (due the peculiar decentralized mining process, one of the key elements of this amazing project). Spr it's very undervalued, the technology behind it it's one of the best concepts in the markets.

I see. I never had cards crashing doing SpreadX11 with my 'HSC' though. Nor they ever boosted to 2000+ Mhz with a basic OC so I'm not sure what you mean.

As much as I like SPR, it really is nothing extraordinary. Poolmining is possible for a very long time (https://spr.suprnova.cc/) so there's that.

I also went All in. If Dash goes down..I will be working another 5 years to make this money Smiley The flip side is  I can retire 15 years early.
Damn no money to buy another 73 dash.. Hope Dash developers do what they are promising.. Happy Dashing folks ..I sold all bitcoins ..Just do the opposite of the herd to make Asymmetric rewards. Grin

1177  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: CCminer(SP-MOD) Modded NVIDIA Maxwell / Pascal kernels. on: March 04, 2017, 08:35:47 PM
I have mined spreadcoin with 3 cards for a week. 1x1070 and 2x970. (18mhash). I now have more than $50 worth of.spreadcoin.

The calculator showed $2.8 per day for the 1070, but i got more than $4..

You're talking about trading, not mining (daily revenue).

What you fail to realize is that in a multigpu environment, up to 6/7 vga in a farm, the clock frequency on average is far less than the one you always report with a single-gpu screen.

With the algo SpreadX11, if you go past 1800/1830 MHz on avg it crashes; the reason is the algo switching, that forces the chip to go past 2035 MHz, and it hangs.

Every algo is different, this one it's a bit complex to manage.

Different models have different stable clocks though.

Algo switching doesn't crash cards, unless you use an OC that won't work with some algos. That is why I use the lowest stable OC.

Otherwise, algo switching doesn't push your card to 2035, there's no reason to do so. You might not close ccminer properly before an algo switch maybe?

the bad thing that i noticed is that with spreadminer10, my gpu emits a stupid sound(a bip, continuously)  did you noticed it?

You meen if you turn the volume up alot on your computer?

no it's the gpu that emits that sound, i tested it with spreadminer 9 and there is not big

I have developed mining software for 3 years and the singing gpu is the wierdest bug ever reported. Smiley
Could you record it please I want to hear the bug;)

I had that with a few algos back with 780 Ti's but it's disappeared a few weeks in on all the cards. Apparently some new cards emit high pitch noise until they burn in.
