It may suck, but you can't expect the price to go up to hundreds of thousands without corrections. Bitcoin rewards the hodler. Yes, I know. But sucks to see all the gain lost again. How many "cvorrection" do we need? I know it'S a long running game. But I sucks any way ... And buy the dip doesn'T help, when you have to wait for you paycheck ... In the last cycle we had serveral corrections and they sometimes went for months. Don't be surprised if we mimic that. I know ...  I am not surprised, but most "corrections" went + 30% then -27%, which is a net win of 3% (for example) ... do that 20 times and we are on a good way. I only want to express my "meh" and release the stress  Would be nice, if we went sideways on the 35k level for a while not this stupid 30k/31k ... to nearby at the 2xk levels this stresses. A middle 3xk would be more calming I don't know how much fiat you have invested and when, but I don't feel stressed at all when I see that the value of my Bitcoin stash is now 14.7 times the value of the fiat I used to buy it. My "loss" threshold is very low, around $1800. Any price above that leads to a profit for me. I guess that's the benefit of being a (somewhat) early adopter. Still, no one likes the price to fall, since profit does not necessarily lead to "fuck you" rich status, and many of us still need to wait for a while until we reach that level. My guess is that this will happen quite soon for some of us, even as early as this year, or the next at the latest. Others (is it Octopussies?) may need to wait a bit longer, but it's still doable. Just HoDL.Fact: Bitcoin has a tendency to move from the hands of the impatient, to those of the patient. (was it Warren Buffett that said something like this?) Proof: mindrust. I think the problem is, that I want to buy property in the near future,becuase we found 1 or 2 nice candidates. But to be honest... Maybe I should wait longer and dismiss the candidates, hopefully this bull run is not over yet and I got better properties at the end of this year for less Bitcoin XD Anyway thank you, this answers to my unpatient price ranting are helpful I was thinking it might of been something like that. History is littered with technologies and companies which were too big to fall or too ignorant to innovate. Bitcoin is the biggest and undisputed crypto asset right now, but this is not guaranteed forever. Ignoring a lot of interesting and potentially disruptive development in the altcoin space is short sighted. After all, isn't it exactly what banks, big names and investment funds have been saying about Bitcoin, until they didn't. stop the shitcoinery asap. this is not the place for marketing scams. bitcoin is a protocol for money in the same way as the internet is a protocol for information. do we have 7500 different internets? do we have "potentially disruptive development in the alternative internet space"? why not? the innovation in the webspace is happening within the network. innovation and disruptive development can and will happen only within the bitcoin protocol. before we move on, we all need to be on the same network, the same track, the same language. we are trying to get a unified measurement implemented globally. a measurement for value. imagine the engineers of the world came up with 7500 different ways of measuring length. confusion much, eh? no engineering possible, you know?! for fuck sake, stop posting crab about shitcoins. An attempt to tax unrealized capital gains would be a disaster for the new administration. I understand they need to scrape what they can, but this would bite deep into the ass of the vanishing middle class. Most of Biden voters wouldn't understand, and rightly so.
Which is exactly why it will never happen. an attempt to tax unrealized gains would send the stock market into the abyss. everyone would want to get at least some realized gains (even if taxed) rather than paying a tax on unrealized gains (which are only paper gains that are useless). that crash would eliminate the unrealized gains and there would be 1) no unrealized gains = no tax 2) no gains at all = no tax on gains possible has this been done before? the questions also, what when you have unrealized loss? Do you get a tax return? Also when you realize the loss, do you get a tax return? See what you have done? I wouldn't be my problem, here in germany I didn't pay tax for bitcoins old than 1 year. I guess I can always leave it at work when I retire at the end of this year. you know those cups can hold alcohol too right 4 shots to a cup iirc Ha, it's on option, however, I only drink socially these days and that is getting rarer. Plus I don't know what it is but I find it strange drinking out of mugs with anything other than a hot drink, same as having a wine in a normal glass or plastic cup. It's just a distraction, they'll act like this is a last resort and a consquence of the previous adminstrations inaction. Then all of a sudden there'll be a breakthrough, and they'll find that MMT is a much more sensible option.
