1161  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Litecoin - a lite version of Bitcoin. Launched! on: March 29, 2014, 10:06:47 AM
@Coblee, with the forthcoming wave of Scrypt ASICs, are there any plans of shifting Litecoin from Scrypt to any other algo?

I vote X11, runs so much cooler, uses far less electricity! This is the responsible, environmental friendly way to go!

IMHO the best course of action is to not make any change to the algorithm at all. After the heavy hitting ASICs dominate the mining landscape, people will have no other choice but to buy LTC if they want it. It'll be a seller's market, like what happened to Bitcoin.
those can afford such machines will get richer, the little guy miners will get shafted with your theory..... typical greedy nub. an alog change should happen to keep LTC out of the big hands of ASIC whores and farms.

1163  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Greececoin (GRCE) - LAUNCHED GET MINING! - *NEW* on: March 28, 2014, 01:06:34 PM
dissapointing, GRCE isn't even worth mining atm for daily trading.... 4mhs and only 200 grce over a 3 day period.... hardly class's as profitable. this coin should be worth alot more then how it currently stands.
1164  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] BlackCoin (BC) | on exchanges | PoS | No premine on: March 27, 2014, 11:10:18 AM
any idea where the price track will end up? seems to be a slow drop atm, given whats recently happened to BC i dont blame it for dropping.
1165  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Greececoin (GRCE) - LAUNCHED GET MINING! - *NEW* on: March 26, 2014, 11:45:20 AM
Shitcoin heading in the toilet

question 1: why would anyone take you seriously, activity at 14.... very new to the crypto world...

question 2: do you have anything else better to do with your time then slander and say "FUD" about coins? it seems that all you seem to be doing....

now why don't you go play outside and get some sunlight, and let the adults do the tradeing.....
1166  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] BlackCoin (BC) | on exchanges | PoS | No premine on: March 26, 2014, 11:30:13 AM
it seems BC seems to be in alittle trouble atm.... first the losss from CR, and now the 1337 market manipulator......

1170  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Setup & Troubleshoot] Bitmain AntMiner S1 180GH/S miner on: March 22, 2014, 01:38:06 PM
Can someone help me work out my HW error %? i keep running the forumal and keep getting an odd number.

Miner Status

it is running overclocked as noticeable by the hash rate. and it generates HW errors pretty fast and iam not sure if its working correctly or just to ignore the rate of HW errors.

If you are running at 400mhz put it down to 393 and see how it goes.

what should i set as thier values? i tried a few settings but end up with high rate of HW errors. it also runs off 775w solo.
        option 'freq_value'
        option 'chip_freq'     '393'
        option 'timeout'

I can't help you there, I have not overclocked my Ants yet but from what I have read from other members on the board you need to find the right frequency.
Most say 393 is ideal.

Some other member with more experience on overclocking might help you better.

cheers anyway bud, looks pretty bad when the HW error count is almost half my accepted rate.... if i use 375 its stable and throws maybe 1 hw error an hour. how ever thats only really good for 185gh.

*Edit*
Seems Option timeout sweet spot is 36.5, been going all min at 393mhz and no HW error yet..... hash rate seem's to bounce alittle thou.

WTF?

saw it on http://spaincoin.miningpoolhub.com/

Is it real? I mean if it is, it might be good for spaincoin

Yes it's real.

Yes, we have a confirmation from DEV about the change to Scrypt-N-adaptive hashing?

spa.speedhash.eu

its on the Dev blog that they will be hardforking the blockchain to change the algo.... might actually give this coin a break and stop the multipool rape and allow the value to grow. will also slow down the amount of coins minted per day.

Iam not looking to be a millionare lol. just looking for extra "beer money"... lol.
Power is not an issue for me so i wanna get the machine working at its peak and makeing a return that is worthy of running it, i know ROI on 1k will take over a month if not alittle longer, with plans to invest in more machines until i get atleast 1Ths. thats my aim iam just unsure of the plasuable $$$ returns given the current market trends as i have been watching over the past few weeks and the numbers have been dropping pretty heavily, mainly due to the value of BTC crashing thanks to Mtgox.....
Not to mention ASIC miners look alittle better then scrypt GPu rigs atm, especially with the current build vs power prices, as well as impending scrypt ASICs only around the corner.

On a rough calculation, 200Ghs at 400w vs 3100khs which is what i currently run at close to 1700w "approx". and the 200gh's makes just that little bit more then a scrypt rig, also compareable in price, 200ghs 1k value, 3100khs close to 2500 to build.
1176  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: is SHA-256 worth mineing on: March 19, 2014, 03:25:44 PM
ty Chunkbuck, any idea what i could roughly expect btc per day wise, weather by mining btc directly or by useing multipools which looks like the better option atm.
i generally avoid coinwarz for mining directly as those coins are usualy hit by multipools once they are profitable to mine, much like scrypt etc.
1177  Bitcoin / Mining / is SHA-256 worth mineing on: March 19, 2014, 02:35:48 PM
Iam looking at getting a 200ghs miner shortly, and was wondering if it was even worth buying. i know i have missed the BTC train, how ever there are multipools for the many different SHA alt coins. what could i roughly expect from a 200ghs miner per 24 hours roughly? been debateing my decisions over the past few days and cant come to a final conclusion and would like some input from the community.

My buy order for 0.0005 didn't get filled! damn

you may get your chance, its 50-50 atm. the price is holding above .00140 for now, but may drop later on.

Lots of manipulation.

i know, it seems like the pumpers are restocking once they push lower inorder to make another small profit. i honestly dont know why they waste thier time with these small time pumps, when with one steady push they could increase the profits by 10 times or more.
