1171  Bitcoin / Press / [2016-01-04]Beyond bitcoin: The future of blockchain and disruptive financial... on: January 05, 2016, 05:08:20 AM
Bitcoin, the digital currency, has attracted both attention and controversy. But the most potent innovation is not the currency itself. Rather, it’s the technology that undergirds bitcoin, the distributed-ledger technology known as the blockchain that allows payments to flow through an economy in an entirely decentralized way—without banks or other intermediaries. This infant technology could change the financial system; think the Internet before browsers. It could reduce the cost and increase in the speed and accuracy of financial transactions; it could truly disrupt the banking business. Or it could fizzle. But already it is raising a host of policy questions – about financial stability, consumer protection, choking off terrorists' finances, and tensions between established and upstart financial institutions and between regulatory agencies.

The company BitGold has just recently announced its mobile one-time and recurring payment feature through its platform. 1174  Bitcoin / Press / [2016-01-04] Bitcoin Is A More Viable Option Than American Express on: January 05, 2016, 05:02:05 AM
In the traditional world of finance, there are a handful of major players when it comes to credit and debit cards. Visa and MasterCard are the two biggest brands, but American Express is trying to make a comeback as well. Unfortunately for AmEx, a recent announcement by Fidelity Investments sees the company losing ground in favor of Visa and Bancorp. Unlike these financial services, Bitcoin is not suffering from fractured support, as there is only one currency in play that works for everyone in the world.

1178  Bitcoin / Press / [2016-01-04] Gold vs Bitcoin– the Investment Debate on: January 05, 2016, 04:44:08 AM

For some, bitcoin is more than just a currency. Some prefer to identify it as a protocol. Some prefer it to be a technological innovation. But for most entrepreneurs, it is considered an investment.
For some time now bitcoin has been regarded by a great number of people as more than just a currency. Its decentralised nature and medium to high-risk volatility have both attracted interest from curious and optimistic investors, and been met with a good deal of distrust, at least until it demystifies itself somewhat. However, with its drastic gains and with gold’s dramatic decline, what’s in store for investors in terms of these two assets?
