221  Bitcoin / Press / [2016-09-15] Declining Profitability For New Miners Threatens Bitcoin on: September 14, 2016, 11:36:02 PM
The halving of the bitcoin block reward this past July has changed the profitability of new miner entries, a development that could ultimately impact bitcoin’s decentralization, according to Sveinn Valfells of Flux, Ltd. and Jon Helgi Egilsson of the Faculty of Economics at the University of Iceland.

In a paper, “Minting Money with Megawatts” for the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), the authors noted that declining profitability for new miners could further consolidate mining activity. This, in turn, could increase the likelihood of miners colluding to attack the blockchain’s bitcoin transaction history, which could threaten the cryptocurrency’s decentralized character.

Bitcoin’s architecture created a payment network independent of central banks and existing financial service providers.

222  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin is Becoming a Global Currency on: September 14, 2016, 03:56:40 AM
I believe it will take a few years for this to happen, but perhaps it's closer to happening than we imagine. It is true that bitcoin and cryptocurrencies in general are becoming increasingly popular around the world, day after day.

the main problem bitcoin is "DIGITAL CURRENCY" so we need internet conection for each transaction, and this is can't make bitcoin as 1st global currency like a us dollar.

224  Other / Off-topic / Re: Bank or Bitcoin Wallet? on: September 14, 2016, 03:52:43 AM

in fact some bank do research about blockchain technology, in future i think bank will use blockchain system for his own transaction, but of course bank will be hold the private key.

Well they have the reason for it to hold the private keys since they are institution. It's not different with the current system just in another form because of blockchain technology.

It's a good service if bitcoin will use blockchain system. No doubt banks are helpful in many ways. There are just banks who giving dirt to this reputable institution and don't follow banking terms.

the blockchain system will help bank for secure investment, the transparancy in bank can be accesed by everyone, so people will know where his money used by bank. also this system will help the transparancy loan system.

bank need interest to pay his service, he need money to paid salary his employer, so with this system bank can take interest to each people who borrow money at bank, and use the interest for each cost of activity bank.
225  Bitcoin / Press / [2016-09-14] Swiss film firm creates Ethereum smart contract to fund indie on: September 14, 2016, 03:47:59 AM
Swiss-based independent film production company A Ken Evil Thing has created an Ethereum smart contract to fund their low-budget independent film project titled “The Pitts Family Circus,” offering limited 666 shares of the movie to interested investors.

In a press release sent to CoinReport, the company said that theirs will be the first ether (ETH)-financed movie (ether/ETH is the cryptocurrency/altcoin/token of the Ethereum network like bitcoin is the digital currency of the bitcoin blockchain) and will be produced from the early 2017 in West-Australia, Melbourne and in the Alps of Switzerland.

Shares are 10 ETH each, but investors can buy fractional parts of a full share also. The film production firm said investors will receive an ether-based return on investment (ROI) for the next 20 years, explaining that the shareholders will be receiving 50 percent of the yearly profit after tax until the year 2036.

226  Economy / Economics / Re: If you were in desperate need for money.... on: September 14, 2016, 03:45:44 AM
I think I would try to sell unnecessary things, if it was not enough I would consider asking for help to someone that I trust. I think it is important to be prepared for such situations and save some money, because you never know.

that's like my activity when i need fast money, i sell my vga or sometimes i sell my smartphone.
now i prepare my self for sudden emergencies with saving some fiat, so in future i can use it .

Well this is also what I am doing when I am desperately in need of money. But what I am doing first is that I am using my savings. But when my savings runs out this is going to be my last option to sell something and going to sacrifice that just to have money for my needs. It is better to sacrifice those things than to make your hungry into death.

and loan is other way to get fast money too, i have some good friend who can give me loan when i need it, of course no interest, but i give some bonus for that's helping.
227  Other / Off-topic / Re: Are you buying bitcoins? Why? on: September 14, 2016, 03:24:28 AM
I am buying some because the price is not too high right now to buy but it could be by morning so it is always better to have some just in that case.
Call it a safe investment if you will. Wink

the price is too high if we compare it with last year Tongue
im using bitcoin if i need capital to start trading, so im never buy it for other reason.
228  Bitcoin / Press / [2016-09-14] Bitcoin Mining Giant Bitmain Launches Second Pool on: September 14, 2016, 03:22:32 AM
Bitcoin mining equipment manufacturer Bitmain has launched a new mining pool, it’s second after Antpool, as a part of its block explorer BTC.com’s offering. The new mining pool is open-source will not charge any fees until 2017.

Bitmain has, through its Bitcoin block explorer BTC.com, launched a new mining pool that will be open-sourced to users. With the open-source protocol, the firm hopes to foster new technical standards for mining pools and remove restrictions that otherwise limit the efficiency of mining pools.

Prior to launch, the new mining pool was put to its test to gain feedback about mining efficiency and its stability. Software simulators were used to replicate the load of up to 180,000 miners. Upon launch, the new pool demands no mining fees from users, until the end of 2016.

229  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why price of Bitcoin too stable? on: September 14, 2016, 03:21:25 AM
The price of the bitcoin is stable because there are so many Peopel who are not spending coins at the moment and what i do know is that there are allot who dont even know the price of the coin right now.

Price of bitcoin is stable for a long time within $600 due to the decreased circulation within users as well traders and other bitcoin promoters. Recently small increase happened when circulation increased but didn't stabilize much, which is now decreasing.

maybe the stable price is the accumulation phase before "real pump" to $1000.
i think bitcoin will hit the $1000 rate again, maybe end of this year

231  Other / Off-topic / Re: du you spend coins on real life. on: September 14, 2016, 03:10:49 AM
I haven't spent bitcoin in real life as there are no stores that accept it here. I don't expect any to start accepting it anytime soon. The cost to these stores aren't ready to put anymore expenses on their stores and cut into their profits.
Once everybody else is using it like major chains then the stores will see it is profitable more than just a burden on their businesses.

at my country i found some realmerchand accept bitcoin as payment processor, but the place is very far from my village. I had to spend traveling for five hours to reach the merchand.
232  Other / Off-topic / Re: If i give you 10 BTC what will you do? on: September 14, 2016, 03:06:47 AM
i think buy ethereum classic is good way to use 10btcoin, or building Rx470 rig for mining etc is good idea too. im sure mining is best way to growing our money.
233  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: People hate Bitcoins? on: September 14, 2016, 03:05:12 AM

I like bitcoins very much! And if there are people hate it I don't care if there are my family, friends, relatives, or my special someone. At least, even they hate it bitcoin get their attention without saying anything about it.

don't make bitcoin is your main priority, i think my family is the first important in my life. if someone want to give me 10000000000bitcoin for killing my family i will reject it. don't be fanatic guys.
234  Economy / Economics / Re: I have 12 BTC in my Account, How should I invest this?? on: September 14, 2016, 03:02:24 AM
Advice, tips, speculation please.

invest at good altcoin when the red line comes, like today, ethereum clasic price is very cheap, and im sure the price will be rise again to 0.006 maybe 0.01 so buying ethereum classic is good idea.
235  Economy / Economics / Re: What is your best investment strategy? on: September 14, 2016, 03:00:37 AM
Investment strategy?  Buy & hold, buy & hold.  When your in doubt, as yourself what Warren Buffett would do and then act accordingly.

High frequency trading is best left to the big shots, and I don't count myself among those.  I have never profited from trading in and out of things, so I am just sitting atop my intangible pile of bitcoin and shall remain there until profit is made.  Smiley

how about this starategy?
buy hold sell at higher price, buy again at low price hold and sell it in higher price ?
Im not have more money to always buy, and for me that's method is best.
236  Other / Off-topic / Re: Bank or Bitcoin Wallet? on: September 14, 2016, 02:58:32 AM
what you will chose amomg them.and why do the banks are afraid of bitcoin.why banks are not much smooth and faster like bitcoin.if banks start accepting bitcoin as payments then will it became a revolutionary for us?can bank can solve our mining or money curculation probems.
Maybe the two of them to choose because the bank was to be secured to the money and the small profit it had secured a safe money. The bitcoin wallet is very helpful especially when I want to invest in online site available immediately and can also earn bitcoin by accumulating bitcoin and wait for rise in prices for the currency to make a profit . Bitcoin just not safe especially when you forget the password and do not open it . So not secured the money to bitcoin.

in fact some bank do research about blockchain technology, in future i think bank will use blockchain system for his own transaction, but of course bank will be hold the private key.
237  Other / Off-topic / Re: What is the Future of Bitcoin ? on: September 14, 2016, 02:48:44 AM
There are considerable chances that in the next years bitcoin may achieve worldwide adoption, as a global cryptocurrency. I hope that happen as soon as possible. That way all of us could benefit from it.

i think we need more than 1year, maybe nest 5year the worlwide adoption will become, or maybe next halving bitcoin will be leader of currency in the world, not only in cryptocurrency.

240  Other / Off-topic / Re: What is your plan to get rich with Bitcoin? on: September 14, 2016, 02:31:16 AM
My plan is quite simple, buy btc in every dive, perform trading in the market and hold for the long term. I will also invest in projects when I see that it is worth.

that's a simple way to growing your money with holding bitcoin, but for growing your bitcoin you can choose trade, maybe 2% profit permonth is enough for long term investment.
