1181  Economy / Reputation / Re: Bitcointalk user Joerii passed away... on: September 18, 2023, 08:12:05 AM
When you see news like this, you start to think about how a person can suddenly die. All our topics in the topic of reputation are sheer vanity of vanities. All of them turn into such a small thing compared to the grief that befell this young man and his family. I also want to express my condolences to the family; maybe one day they will come here just to read his life story here. I would also like to say: always tell your children and loved ones how much you love them and do not spare your feelings, because there may come a time when it will be too late.
1182  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: $870K hacked from Mark Cuban on MetaMask on: September 17, 2023, 10:27:48 AM
Should we be discussing here something that happened outside the forum and has nothing to do with any user? Should all the events that happen to people in the world be transferred to the fraud board? This news is already being discussed on the forum, and in terms of the time of its creation, it has an earlier date.

1183  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Knowledge vs hodlings on: September 17, 2023, 09:32:15 AM

As a newbie you should have noticed you will understand better when you avoid unnecessary posts , read more  and ask questions why repeat something when more than 15 persons have said same thing and besides discussions are to improve understanding no to be abused as a group chat that you reply all messages
For the record I do reply post but I only do so when I deem necessary

They made a reasonable remark to you, but you snapped back and did not continue the discussion with other users. I also consider all your posts to be just ordinary fishing, but I in no way blame you. If on topic, then I disagree. So what if a person knows that Bitcoin is cool but, in reality, will not be able to practice with it? Practice is always important for me. A person can invest in Bitcoin with a minimum of knowledge, including the storage rule, and then use DCA, again learning how to avoid mistakes during transactions. And in the meantime, at your own discretion, study certain aspects of crypto, in particular Bitcoin. I liked the health comparison. What would you personally prefer: knowledge about health or having health?
1184  Economy / Reputation / Re: Is there anything unusual in these screenshot? on: September 17, 2023, 07:07:19 AM

The problem is we, the local people, always want to give our locals a 2nd chance or the benefit of the doubt. Even if they are doing something shady, we tend to ignore it and don't investigate it. There is a reason behind it. The Bangladeshi community has a dream: to get a local board. So, we all want to help others and grow their accounts, so we can say we have a handful of active users. If someone has two accounts, I don't have a problem with it. But the problem is when they abuse it.

Based on your words, I highly doubt that by following this behavior, your community will have any hope of getting a separate board at all. Do you think expanding the local community by multiplying alternative accounts is the right thing to do? Do you want to show how fast the Bengali section is growing by giving merit to your alts, believing that no one sees it? Many are already closely watching this board. I see a lot of "newbies" who, from the first posts, run to the WO thread or very competently explain to everyone what and how to do on the forum. Do these accounts look like newbies, do you think? Anyone who came to the forum may ask himself, "How did I behave, and what was not clear to me here?" But unfortunately, we see a different picture. You will explain to your colleagues that you need to play fairly, and what you do in your local section, cultivating dozens of accounts, is very noticeable. But yes, everyone’s concepts of morality and decency are different.
1185  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will there be a boom again? on: September 16, 2023, 11:10:45 AM
I get the impression that you wasted your time without realizing that what you have now received in education is much better than the millions that you would have spent. Could you have predicted that Bitcoin would rise to such heights? How many such prophets have we seen? Therefore, read xhomerx10's post slowly, preferably slowly and several times. Not everyone here is lucky enough to move to another country or, moreover, to get an education. But many here lost their chances of becoming millionaires since we also heard about Bitcoin but did not buy it, and sell it for pennies. Many regret their mistakes but correct them. Therefore, stop whining about what doesn’t exist and catch up with time now so that in the process of worrying, you don’t miss your chance again.
1186  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Mark Cuban's Metamask was hacked on: September 16, 2023, 10:28:43 AM
How can someone who has over $870,000 worth of crypto across his metamask wallet be moved by a promise of eth, which will be around $8k +? This one is really on him, and he should not blame anyone for his mistake. Who knows, this could just be some cheap hackers who don't even know the amount he had in their wallet before they made their hacking attempts, because if they had known, I believe they could have used a higher amount in order to lure him in to the scam.

Just the fifth, which made him lose access to a fortune, well, I don't even think this will hurt him that much.

Apparently, the opposite is happening. That person who has only a couple of tens of dollars in his wallet tries to take every precaution so as not to lose his only coins, and the one who has thousands is so irresponsible with his funds. Knowing that our days on the Internet are like an ocean with sharks and so frivolously downloading software without checking it first implies such an ending sooner or later.
We often laugh at those who, without having many valuables, become paranoid about storage, although, if you look closely, it is always better to overdo it than to lose it like that and then blame yourself for inattention.
1187  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I took a proposal to my State Governor to accept Bitcoin Technology on: September 16, 2023, 08:45:18 AM
Why cover the face of the Governor if the information is already public knowledge and you’re still going cite the source where you got the photo from? I’m from Nigeria and I know how difficult it is as a constituent to meet with our representatives in government, much more a Governor of a state. It makes me wonder on what capacity did you visit the Governor? Are you also a politician or just a concerned citizen with a vision for the state. If it’s the later, I doubt your story because I know my country.

Do not forget that the forum adheres to confidentiality; perhaps the OP does not have the right to advertise the identity of the governor.
But no one can better understand the state of their country than local residents, and I understand your doubts. Or maybe you shouldn’t be too pessimistic, remembering that water wears away stones. If citizens actively participate in turning to the government with similar requests, or rather, advice, one day everything will change for the better.
It is always better to crawl than to sit still with your arms down. I respect your people, and I also hope that the proposal will be taken in the right direction. By the way, the OP is not the last volunteer to promote this topic. You need more people like this. Smiley
1188  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If only property I have is bitcoin on: September 16, 2023, 08:21:05 AM
OP, you've gone very far. If you don't have a wife, why burden yourself with such questions? There is no need to worry about what will happen to your money if you die, and you have no one to give everything to. This topic appears frequently on the forum, but is it that difficult to resolve? Everything depends on you. If you trust your significant other, tell her. I don't think it's hard to do. If you are raised with a sense of responsibility towards your loved ones, you will find thousands of ways to convey your secret to them. If you don't have people you can trust, then don't even think about it. People die empty-handed, taking nothing with them. Also, people die unexpectedly, so if your bitcoins are destined to disappear without a trace, then don't regret it either. If we say that, as many people have written here, it is dangerous to trust loved ones, then you can feel sorry for them that people are living next to them who are capable of betrayal at any moment.
1189  Economy / Reputation / Re: Is there anything unusual in these screenshot? on: September 16, 2023, 05:21:51 AM
I'm inclined to think that in these two local sections, there may be users who are a common team of friends and regularly use their earned merits, like Twitter likes. Guesses about several farms from these locales have already been repeatedly voiced, and most likely it is so that some group owns several profiles, but they are quite cunning and temporarily elusive. On the other hand, the rules do not prohibit the exchange of merit in local sections, but you need to understand that even if someone manages to raise their accounts to the required heights, further steps will be an assessment of the quality of posts. Managers will be the judges of the acceptance of such writers who regularly publish their posts only in their native language.
1190  Other / Meta / Re: Is the first Merit the hardest Merit to get? on: September 16, 2023, 04:48:24 AM
OP, I don't think getting merit will be difficult for you. I received my first merit after about three or four months of being on the forum. But yes, at that time I was "ill" from the bounty, and of course, no one would give merit to a bunch of reports. But after completing my stupid journey of hunting for shitcoins and the next steps to expose scam projects, they gave me a lot of merit. The point is that you can’t just sit and wait for someone to come and give you something. Publish what you know; your skills will probably be useful to the forum and community. People see sincerity and know how to be grateful. The main thing is not to go out of your way to always be where there is an opportunity to catch merit. In addition, ranks that have a lot of merit cannot transfer some of the merit to their alt accounts. Firstly, this is not fair, and secondly, the community will see this, and it may turn out that, due to greed, a person will ruin his account, acquiring a bad reputation.
1191  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What motivated you to join the forum? on: September 15, 2023, 11:27:46 AM
My story is banal. And there are also a lot of topics similar to this one. But you can check the truthfulness of all the stories that the accounts tell about themselves. After all, if a person writes the truth, then the story is always the same, but if he tells a lie, then you can very quickly forget about it and tell something new. I came here specifically for the money, yes, and the bounty at that time seduced many minds. But I came to the forum by accident; I was working on another forum, and it was unavailable for three days, and I didn’t know what to do with my time. By chance, I came across this forum, saw these piles of reports, and decided that I could keep myself busy in addition to my studies by advertising bounties. But I sobered up when I didn’t see the promised tokens in my wallet. And then I became interested in the massive exposure of scam projects that multiplied and were posted here on the forum, several of them every day. But if we say that I sought to participate in subscriptions, this is not true. I heard about them, but only on the advice of a good person here did I decide to take part. And as I often say about this, the forum has become a favorite place for reading from the moment a new day is born until late at night.
1192  Other / Meta / Re: Is there a thread where one can submit his profile for review to get merits ? on: September 15, 2023, 09:18:31 AM
OP, despite the fact that you are not very active, as you said, but it's quite easy to distribute merit without creating this kind of thread. Already, you've gotten about 100+ merits from different boards, and you could as well scan through those threads and award some merit to whomever you think made a good effort on their post. As I even looked through the boards that you have mostly made comments on, I see that you have made comments on the India LB, and I think you can still go over to your local board (which is India) and award your Smerit to the quality posters on that board. Common Mahn, don't act like some hypocrite 👺.

Good offer, although if you follow his activity in the Indian local section, you will see that he was last there in 2018.
https://ninjastic.space/search?author=krishnaverma&board=89

In addition, the OP is too narcissistic and once wanted to give away his merits, but in the end, he did not deign to bestow his favor on many.

Checked posts of all members who posted above and none qualify. Do not give up, keep trying. You will certainly improve if you have a positive attitude.

but successfully assessed plagiarism

Why are you giving merit for plagiarism?

And now he asks that we take his posts into account. I took the time to look at his profile, and I think either the OP is not the real owner or he has some serious memory lapses regarding the merit information. He, like no one else, explained all the subtleties of the topic louder than anyone else, but in the end, we see another stupid topic.

Is there a way to know how many spendable merits are going to expire soon ?  If not, it should be included in profile if possible.

The merit system got implemented like 10 hours ago. So expect different kinds of reactions. Either negative or positive, those reactions will add to the improvements of this system.

We will see how it goes for the coming days.

How about giving incentives to an active member who is always giving his / her sMerits to quality posts. Like +1 Merit for every 50 sMerits given. So a member will not only make quality posts, he / she will also read and give sMerits to those who deserve it.

That will be very difficult to track for moderators. So far as giving Smerits is concerned, there is no point in storing the. It is mentioned that they may be nullified if not used for long term.

Although not even the only one. Grin

Pretty funny situation. After reading all the posts, I got the impression that the OP just decided to draw attention to himself, not at all thinking that people could easily check if the password was previously changed or not. Topic from the category "just to write something"
But the situation now is that the OP has created even more fuss with his account, and people are demanding that he prove if the OP is the real owner or if the cheater is trying to protect himself from future claims.
As a result, always think about what you write about; sometimes innocent stupidity can lead to serious consequences. Grin
Exactly!! The same thoughts was risen in me... the reasons?? I'm yet to know.
Was that account an active account before the passcode got resetted? Cus I haven't been seeing that name around very often.
Maybe OP didn't just wanna seek attention; he also wanted to make publicized the fact that his passcode has been changed, so peeps won't even bother using it against him when they get to realize that for themselves....so he decided to frame a fake story to convince the community beforehand - but, HTF is it even possible to deceive a whole community of gurus like this?...lol

So he finally came, on his own - without being interrogated - to report his ignorance on how passcodes are being managed.... I believe if that's the real owner behind the OP, then he shouldn't be creating lame stories like this.. now answer this; WHO TF HAS AN ACCESS TO YOUR BTT ACCOUNT AND YOUR EMAIL TOO TO HAVE CHANGED YOUR PASSCODE 2 GOOD TIMES BEFORE NOW ??

1193  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Ignore the new Apple toys & Invest in Bitcoin, history always repeat itself. on: September 14, 2023, 10:52:05 AM
I agree with the OP. I don’t think that the functionality of the new iPhone has increased significantly with the new model. Apple loves advertising and will create new products as he runs his business, which makes sense. But what will change in a person who has a new model? To me, these are just games of vanity. Possessing a new gadget and showing your imaginary wealth is not always right. It is much better to have Bitcoins in stock, not to disclose them to everyone, but to be sure that over time your capital will grow, unlike a gadget, the price of which in a year will be much lower.

A bear run in Bitcoin scares most new investors, some investors might panic and sell their Bitcoin, while others might hold onto theirs with the hopes that the price will rise again.

some general tips for handling a bear run in Bitcoin:

Do not panic: It's important not again panic and sell your Bitcoin immediately. Bear runs can be unpredictable, and the price may rise again.

Do proper research: Before making any decisions, please do your research to know why the price is falling. Look at demand trends, news, and other factors affecting the price fall.

Evaluate dollar-cost: before buying Bitcoin during a bear run consider dollar rate. This means investing a fixed amount of money at frequent intervals, regardless of the price. This can help you avoid buying at a high price and losing money.

Have a clear investment plan: Before investing, it is important to have an obvious investment plan that aligns with your financial goals and risk tolerance. Stick to your plan to avoid making sudden changes in response to short-term market changes.

Be knowledgeable: stay up to date with what's happening in the Bitcoin market for investment decision purposes.

Always remember, the crypto market can be volatile and unpredictable. Make sure to invest wisely and always do your research before making any decisions.

We've been hearing stories of how people slipped and fell in their bathrooms, some died and some were paralyzed. This a very traumatizing situation.

Preventing accidents in the bathroom is important for maintaining safety and avoiding injuries. I have made some tips  to help you prevent accidents in the bathroom:

1: Keep the floor dry: Wipe up any water spills or splashes immediately to prevent slippery surfaces. Place a  rug near the shower or bathtub to provide additional traction.

2: Put grab rails: putting sturdy grab rails in the shower, near the bathtub, and next to the toilet will provide support and stability, especially for individuals with movement issues or balance problems.

3: Maintain proper lighting: Ensure the bathroom is well-lit, especially in areas like the shower and near the toilet. Use bright, light bulbs and consider adding a night light to assist with visibility during nighttime bathroom visits.

4: Store items safely: Keep bathroom needs, such as toiletries, and cleaning products properly. Make sure there is no soap on the floors, as it can increase the risk of tripping and falling.

5: Don't ever leave kids below 8 years in the bathroom unattended.

6: Be cautious when getting in and out of the bathtub: Use extra care when stepping in and out of the bathtub.

7: Put a bathroom emergency alarm:  an emergency alarm or call button in the bathroom that can be easily accessed in case of a fall or other emergencies will help to get quick assistance.

Hope this helps. If you have other tips please add in the comment session. Please be safe.

The points you've raised about the critical role of a nation security in its overall success is very important.
Good security system play a key role in upholding the rule of law, protecting citizens, and maintaining stability. When things like this is  compromised by corruption or political manipulation, it can erode trust in the government and hinder progress.

The issue of corruption within Nigeria's security forces is a deeply concerned one. Corruption don weaken the effectiveness of security in our nation,  The allegations of security forces' involvement in election irregularities are particularly troubling, as free and fair elections are the cornerstone of a democratic society.

Addressing issues like this will  require thorough investigations and accountability mechanisms to restore public trust in the security system.

I would like to ask, what should I do in case I found an AI generated post "written" by a newbie, but for now I can prove that about only one post

If you take the time to report one post generated by an AI tool, you can always post it here. But I would prefer to just complain to the moderators about AI texts.
I'm more inclined to create these rules for malicious spammers to somehow change their behavior when copying posts from the AI, tagging them with a neutral tag after detecting three or more posts.
1196  Other / Meta / Re: Report plagiarism (copy/paste) here. Mods: please give temp or permban as needed on: September 14, 2023, 09:09:36 AM

I want to ask @light_warrior: Do you use any special tools to find so many plagiarized posts? Or do you check it manually?

Can you imagine how long a manual search for plagiarism can take? In addition, there are several topics on the forum where this topic was raised, including searching for plagiarism. And you, with due attention and perseverance, can find it. But to make the search easier, there are also a lot of resources on the Internet—tools, as you put it—for searching for plagiarism, and there is an opinion that you shouldn’t advertise them very much so as not to give those who like to copy the opportunity to bypass the search. In the same way, you see that light_warrior sometimes posts screenshots, and the sites he uses are clearly visible there. You can do the same.
1197  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I just purchased my first bitcoin on: September 13, 2023, 10:05:29 AM
Congratulations to the OP! It's nice to see someone who matches his words with his actions. You did what you wanted: you sold the phone and bought some bitcoins. Don’t rush into the next sale, but just try to save some money if you have it and continue DCA in the future. By the way, always remember and be careful what you post online; the Internet and the forum remember everything. People are curious. I think your deleted photo doesn't hide anything, and it's still available to everyone. Smiley
1198  Other / Meta / Re: Too Many Forum Boards - Outdated Threads - Let's Delete Boards on: September 13, 2023, 09:08:28 AM
The whole inconvenience for the OP is that he is a newbie. Perhaps he previously visited other forums with bright banners and a lot of advertising, and now, having come here, he really likes to use colored fonts. OP, finding something on the forum is not that difficult. Try to learn about search methods; thereby, you will save time, as you put it, and maybe get up-to-date information today, as well as what it was like when the forum was founded. Sometimes such proposals cause irritation; you can notice this. People have been here for years, and everyone likes everything, and waiting for a reward from the admin for such advice is tantamount to waiting for weather from the sea. Have you heard the saying, "You can’t enter someone else’s monastery with your own rules"?

1199  Other / Meta / Re: Altcoin Wallet Board In Alternate Cryptocurrencies Needed - Why Admin Sleep ? on: September 13, 2023, 08:34:47 AM
altcoins are more and more popular, especially for new crypto users.

Yep, newbies are lured by stories and hopes of getting rich quickly, which is why they are so drawn to alternative coins. I, myself, was once badly burned by this. But here on the forum, we advise newbies to first learn everything about Bitcoin and only then take on the risks of linking their histories with alternative coins. There are many newbies who believe in alts, but there are even more who get nothing from them.
1200  Other / Meta / Re: Is there a thread where one can submit his profile for review to get merits ? on: September 13, 2023, 08:18:01 AM
If you're willing to spend your sMerits, why not go to boards which are lacking these merit donors but have quality posters and become the Santa? No offense to the Op, but I doubt this is something to create a thread over because you can just be a Nicodemus about this and it's the recipient of the merit that would appreciate your act. This just looks like clout chasing and merit fishing to me..hey, it's just my two cents tho.

You're right. Many users place great importance on distributing their merits. I see this as very arrogant as if there are few topics and posts on the forum where you can reward someone without seeming to be doing a favor. When I see such topics, I always want to ask whether your posts for which someone gave you merit are so valuable, and whether are they better than all others?
