Had some powder left on Gemini that I can't move yet, but can trade with. Placed orders @ $34,500 all the way down to $30,500.

Seems the Yellen announcement has some people spooked.

meh. In another week we'll be heading for the stars again. I reckon 34 will be around as low as we go.

Who coined the "pump for ants" phrase? Was it Bob?

This is so cool.

Yes, i think so. I didn't find the original post, but afair he posted a message in colored caps (purple or blue), big font size over two lines:

Quote
WHAT IS THIS?
A PUMP FOR ANTS?

several months ago. I can remember it quite clear because it was a "visual" kind of post.

I also think it was a reference to Zoolander

Seems like we are moving to support level of the large symetrical triangle at 33,000. I'm hoping we bounce before then though, but I could place for a buy order if not.

Bitcoin got really boring now that we're rich.

Many people are holding alts and so they are not in profit right now. They are waiting for the alt season which may give them good profits.

I'm trying to understand your chart. Do you have a link to the source.

The chart is pretty easy to understand. When we are in blue zone, its bitcoin season (means bitcoin dominance is highest) and if we are in the Red zone, its an alt season at peak (bitcoin dominance is lowest)

Here is the link to source:  https://www.blockchaincenter.net/altcoin-season-index/

Thanks for the link. Understanding is not an accurate word, I mean that I want to understand the underlying inputs and calculataions.

When you can’t go anywhere without overhearing people excitedly talking about crypto, get ready to sell.

I agree there, but I like something in chart form. Google search trends I guess.
1187  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: January 13, 2021, 05:40:32 AM

Thanks, definitely a good one. Actually that whole site is great.

Nice...
Long term, none of the historical indicators work, typically, but so far this looks great, thanks.

Of course that will always be the case. Though these things all combined together can help give an idea of when to start taking some profits. This is what I'm after, and when I get a good (even if somewhat inaccurate) plan for selling, then I'll need put one together for buying the cycle low. But that one's an end of this year job I think.

While we are enduring the first correction of our massive bullrun, I've been trying to put together some signals that will help me determine when the price is nearing a top in its 4 year cycle.

At the moment I'm using the:

Rainbow chart
Stock to flow
Mayer multiple

Does anyone else have suggestions of what they would use to help determine when a potential end of bull run top is approaching?

So the first real correction after break of previous 2017 all time high has arrived. Any guess on when we'll be back past 42k?

I'm thinking mid/late February and then 50k early March. This could very well be too bearish of an opinion.

We cannot rule out the possibility that we will be back to 42,000 by the end of this week..

Your absolutely right there. Can't rule anything out with bitcoin.

Was talking to a surgeon dude the other day, and he brought up an interesting per-capita point about India having a relatively low death rate.

Even in the densest slums packed with over 2 million people, the death rate is pretty low.

Why ?

It's because they are all on HCQ over there for anti-malaria purposes. They make the stuff in India, so it's passed out like candy at $0.02 a pill. Just need one dose a week.

HCQ, coupled with Zinc, has been proven to reduce cytokine storm severity, providing prophylactic capability against severe COVID-19 infection. Called my doctor, after talking to surgeon dude, asking for HCQ as prophylaxis, and doctors are largely refusing to fill orders for it in the US, for, reasons.

Everything is dumb.

Could very well be, but, another reason could be the age of a country's population. The west is pretty old I think, I imagine places like India have a much younger population. Covid is unlikely to kill the young as you know.

- Global cases rises to over 750k, if super Covid takes the upperhand it will increase to 1m with daily deaths to 20k each day.

- Gaocheng District in China's Hebei province put on total lockdown with nearly 800K residents.

- Shijiazhuang, capital of Hebei province in China bans 11 million residents from leaving city.

- Japan declared state of emergency in Tokyo area.

- Around 4000 deaths in the U.S for 3 days in a row.

- France will mobilize all laboratories to avoid the spread of the new Corona variants at all costs.

- The evidence is not conclusive but Pfizer claims that their vaccine protect people against the highly transmissible new variants. (fingers crossed if Pfizer ore other vaccine's are working against new variants 6 months ore 1 year from now.)

Stay save.

I must say, I'm starting to get a little excited now. Feels like early 2017 when BTC was in the high 2000s. I had a few friends wanting to invest in BTC at that time. Which they did, but got in above 4000. They hodl till this day and even accrued a bigger stash over the last few years. I'm happy for myself, but I'm also happy that I've managed to help others.

41k is awesome and all, but the best days are still ahead of us. Wish I could say the same about the direction of our societies.

Most societies around the world are mostly peaceful.
Most people I believe are mostly peaceful and want a peaceful life.

It's the extremists and mostly the media machines trying to drag people to the extreme edges of division.

Storming capital hill like an imbecile and taking selfies inside isn't right.
But stating that a bunch of idiots who did that are behaving JUST like kamikaze terrorists on 9/11 or an entire country declaring war at Pearl Harbour isn't right either (and also millions of voters were tarred with that same brush in some of the reactions I have heard from politicians - totally not accepting or even discussing concerns, instead just throwing more fuel on the fire and trying to marginalise people - and probably pushing others to an extreme).

The media are loving all of this and exploiting all the click bait they can get out of it.
Social media companies have made billions from politics, people's opinions, extreme reactions, emotions etc too and now saying they hold the moral high ground so know what's best for people to hear? Give me a break.

Most people in the world don't take part in any of this extreme behaviour from what I can conclude. We only see the loudmouths and the companies who profiteer from them.

That is not what I am talking about, that is a sideshow to distract you from the real issues, which are socio-econmic.

Most societies around the world are being destroyed by an ever growing wealth divide and a capital class that are activily undoing (with assistance of elected officials,) the hard won labor conditions acheived by our forebears. The labor/union movements have been gutted, Edward Bernays and his ilk have won the battle of manipulating the people by getting them to spend themselves into slavery, and much more.

The poor, working poor, and middle class (i.e. the labor classes), they are all on a road to destruction (mostly there in many countries). The young have no future, living expenses and housing are insane and will continue higher. Tell me where is the real peace in that? Are slaves peaceful? you bet they are because they are oppressed by their owners, but they are also unhappy and their children have no future.

Watching your altcoins dumping while bitcoin pumping is really a stressful thing !

fuc* those dumpers..

Hahahaahaha, its a thing of beauty my friend.

Except until you think about the poor souls who are losing their money. I'm mean its funny when its someone like jbear, he can afford it, and should know better. But, the people who can't afford it, the ones he and his ilk manipulated into buying their shitcoins, it's not funny.

An extra early good morning Bitcoinland.

Another day another obligatory ATH ($41530 Stamp). This time the $3k correction and rebound came first... currently $41350USD/$52420CAD (Bitcoinaverage).

How many new millionaires today? How many reaching 8 figures for the first time?

Go Bitcoin go.
___

Fuck politics.

Everyone is talking about how this rally is driven by institutional investors, but this should indicate that retail is getting onboard too.

All you have to do is step out of WO into the Speculation folder to see this.

The place is crawling with noobs.

A chart showing daily/weekly signups to this forum would be a good indicator of price I'm sure.

What the hell does the color of the person matter when the real issue is, and always has been, the labor classes vs the capital classes.
Color is a good predictor is all.

wealth is the best, and being born into said wealth, or lack of.

American policemen have no issues to use excessive force, and they're pretty sure to get away with it. Of course, it's easier when it's 3 policemen to a single man... usually black.

No, usually white actually, according to official numbers, more white people then black people are victims of police violence.

Source? The Daily Stormer?

fake stats.

the actual count is higher for whites because there are a lot more whites.

236.5 million (2019). whites

41.99 million (2019) blacks

close to 5.7 to 1. well 5.64 to 1

that is google numbers if you google search

but 34% of people in prison are black
and 29% of people in prison are white.

most on bullshit low value drug busts.

If usa law was busting whites on low value drug charges the numbers would be closer.

I remember seeing an article but I can't find it. The statistic is based on the percentage of people with police interaction. As a percentage of people who encounter the police for whatever reason, whites are statistically the victim of police violence in much greater numbers than any other race. Probably because they are hopped up on some drug or trying to kill someone.

Of course, the counter argument is why do blacks encounter the police at a much higher rate than any other race.

I see the misdirection is working well among everyone, even here in the WO. How about finding the stats on the percentage of the say top 10% owners of wealth killed by police vs those of the bottom 50%. Or maybe difference of those 2 groups in prison.

What the hell does the color of the person matter when the real issue is, and always has been, the labor classes vs the capital classes.

...BitCoin...

Learn how to spell, you fucking twat... referring to you, hv_.

You have been in the bitcoin space long enough to know that only diptwats capitalize the "C" in bitcoin.. either you capitalize the "B" or you do not, the "C" is not capitalized.

I learned 8 years ago that the "B" is only capitalized when referring to the protocol or the currency as a whole. It is not capitalized when referring to an actual unit. The "S" in Satoshi is only capitalized when referring to Bitcoin's creator, not the unit.

i.e. "The smallest unit of Bitcoin is the satoshi which is one one-hundred-millionth of a bitcoin".

Capitalizing the "C" is almost as moronic as making it into 2 words... "Bit Coin".

It's Bit Corn not Bit Coin, and it comes in shares, not satoshis.

shares? I would of figured kernels

30k, almost there.
