1181  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: January 27, 2023, 06:16:13 PM
Honestly, Rui is not a good enough player just for the three second round picks, let alone Nunn, and I agree that Nunn is not good neither, if it was a straight up trade then I would say they are good, but three second round picks? That has to be terrible man, that's really not a good trade. Lakers basically do not have any picks left, they are trusting this team to either work very well and get a title next year (can't get one this year lets be realistic) or they will just suck for another 5-6 years in a row, not even tanking because they have no picks, they will just suck and that's it, end of story, don't even have a plan to get better.

Did you really expect that the Los Angeles Lakers can just have it their way and expect a good trade from giving away their second rounders? I mean c'mon man, let's be reasonable because we all know in the first place that the Lakers can't give a good package to any given team in-exchange for a reliable shooter. Rui Hachimura is quite decent and young as well, he's been favored because he got some history with T. Bryant and R. Westbrook back in the Washington Wizards, moreover, you can't possibly get any good picks in the second rounders. I'd say it's a good trade after all, not what we expect because they don't have that much to offer.

And speaking of Wizards, Westbrook has 3 of his former Wizards players in Lakers now, Rui Hachimura, Troy Brown Jr. and Thomas Bryant. Well we can say that it's a good trade as it will benefit both parties in this trade.

But in the long run, we all know that this is like patches things for the Lakers, they might not survived another season with this kind of players surrounding Lebron just like what happen to them last season.

All I can say is, Hachimura performs if everyone else around him performs. He's had his time in the Wizards helping here and there, but I don't think he's added some more value in the Lakers after being transferred there. Lebron and Westbrook will still be doing a solid carry for the Lakers if they want to be placed in a good standing for the playoffs with players of this caliber in their roster. Hopefully they pull through, but I don't think there's much chance for them given how tight the Western conference is right now.

I guess we will see it in the next couple of days after Rui Hachimura have his practice and drills with the Lakers, it's still too premature to judge whether if the Lakers won the trade or not because he is yet to prove himself wearing the Yellow and Purple jersey. We never know, he might get some good flavors and give some good production unexpectedly.

Adding 12 points in his debut is not bad though he will be tested on their next game agaisnt the Celtics, tougher opponent
that will test the Lakers chemistry now that AD is also playing back.

But so far while wacthing him moving without the ball and finding his space is showing his willingness
to adjsut and be that role player that the Lakers needs on this campaign.

Adjusting is normal because he doesn't have any options at all but to adjust accordingly and try to chase other movements regarding coach Darvin Ham's plan and so far, Rui Hachimura was good in his debut for contributing a double digit score and yes, we will likely see how him tested against the Celtics and not just him, the whole team will be tested but I guess this time there won't be any huge struggles as AD is already there with them.
1182  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Tank Davis vs. Ryan Garcia betting and discussion (May, 2023) on: January 26, 2023, 08:46:43 PM
Seems nobody from both camps did reveal and share some information regarding their contract if there's indeed a clause written on it, but anyway, I'm sure both camps will always cater the fan's needs especially if the outcome of the fight is somewhat controversial and a rematch is the only way to settle their rivalry. Just love to see these two dancing in the ring and showing their prowess rather than being defensive most of the time because they are both knockout artist.

I'm 100 percent sure that a rematch clause will be stipulated in the contract to avoid the mistake that was made by Team Loma when they fought Teofimo Lopez.

I never heard as well if there is a rematch with that fight or who insists that there should be none in the first place.

I don't know if there are negotiations going on after Golden Boy Promotions received the contract that was said to be from the camp of Tank Davis because if they are dead serious about making this fight, they should have continued to make a buzz on social media because that would help them also on the promotional side but they are mum even Ryan Garcia who is so vocal on his social media account hasn't said anything after receiving the contract.

There have been dates and Oscar confirmed it already right? But we still have to wait because there is a court hearing for Tank next month. Maybe that's why they remain silence, (this could have been in the contract as well). So once this is done and they know that the fight has no stumbling block, then maybe both sides will go into the public again thru their social media about the contracts and rematch clause, if there is.

Yeah, they already have a date in mind for this fight should this pushes through but a fight won't be made official unless there is already a signed contract but it's been more than a week already but people organizing this fight are mum, maybe you are right that they will wait for the court hearing or the result of it before declaring Tank Davis vs Garcia a go since preparations will be rendered useless when Davis will be jailed.

I thought that there were already date set for this fight. If that is the case then yeah, probably waiting for the court because it's beyond their control. But sometimes court are lenient and could give way for Davis to make the fight before maybe giving him the jail sentence.

Hopefully that will be the case, so that all the preparations are not going to be useless for both parties.

And then we can talk about the rematch then if it warranted or not.

I just hope you're right about that mate because their discussion and deal will become futile if Davis won't be granted some favor and have some leniency to make the fight happen first before some final judgement regarding Davis's case. Well, I guess they are already working on that because both camps are somehow influential enough to make some slight demands.
1183  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Devin Haney vs Vasiliy Lomachenco - May 20 on: January 26, 2023, 07:48:21 PM
This fight will be very spectacular, but I will still give preference to Vasily because the speed of his work in the ring is impressive,he is so fast and technical fighter.I don't always have time to keep track of his legs,it's not even worth talking about his hands.I think Loma will win on points and the fight will be all 12 rounds.
Yeah may likely or Haney will win via decision too, I don't expect any knock out here because Loma has an iron chin while Haney know to dodge and not received too much punches. I just hope Loma would be 100% healthy during the fight because when he was fight with Lopez, Loma is really not doing anything on the first 6 rounds and it make the judges give more points on Lopez.

And Haney is pillow fisted as well that's why his knockout record is not that good. He put the fight in a hard and grind full 12 rounds. But I think Loma can survived that and maybe he can land some good punches on Haney and tested that chin. Haney has a good defense but I'm seeing with Loma's being a good in fighting technical fighters, he might break that defense of Haney. So still going to be close although the way I look at it, Haney could be the favorite because of Loma's last performance against Ortiz.

Yes, there could be moments that Loma might hit Haney direct to the chin and we will see how Haney will react. It's not the first time for Haney, he has fought fighters like Jorge Linares that caught and hit him square and he almost goes down. But he has this instinct to huge his opponents. So if he ever tasted that power of Loma, he will do the same for sure to survived that round. He has also this ability to recuperate very quick. So really great to see this fight because of the styles of the two and their advantage and disadvantage.

Certainly the reasons why this fight is one of the few most awaited fights as this will be a battle of brains and technicalities, not sure who will win though but I don't doubt that we will witness a good match but I can't lie that I think that Haney will have a good advantage over Loma because judging both of their recent fights, Loma is not that fast and good anymore. Or maybe he's just adjusting from a long inactivity, what do you think?
1184  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: January 26, 2023, 06:59:10 PM
I almost hit my 6 teams parlay last night, I just lost on the 76ers game because I took the spread. They could have covered that already as they were leading with a decent margin, but I'm just unfortunate that they allow the Nets to come back a bit, just enough to cover the handicap.
Sorry to hear that mate, they are really in control of the game and taking double digits lead, but the Nets won't simply go away. Ben Simmons hit some of those shots, his right hook and instrumental in the comeback.

If I'm not mistaken, the spread is like -6.5 right?

I lost my bet because I took Sacramento, but they are really off in this game at their homecourt. As if they don't want to take this win because there are a lot of turnovers. There are stretch wherein Sabonis will have like 3 TO in succession. Very bad game for them at home.

It's -5.5 , and I got a good feeling about the game that the outcome will be in favor towards the favorite because the Sixers got a good control to lead the game and managed to drag their lead towards the second half, and so I expected as well that the handicap will be covered enough but an unfortunate happened because the Nets keeps on sticking and chasing the score.
1185  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: January 26, 2023, 06:38:39 PM
Just hope for the best and who knows maybe they are really destined to meet inside the ring, they just both need to win and let time dictates their fate.

Casimero is the one that badly needed to always win as Inoue is currently at the top now.

If Inoue will face his first defeat in the hands of Moloney, I'm seeing that Inoue will still be the Rank 1 contender and the rematch might happen.

Yup, Inoue can still do that if in case he might suffer from a defeat against the champ, he can ask for a rematch or it can be added from the contract that they will be signing. A rematch will bring them more money something that will give Arum a better interest to deal Inoue, just my own opinion..

We already know Bob Arum and I'm quite sure that there will be a rematch clause in this fight because even if they are just the challenger, it's still risky on their side because the reputation and value will be heavily affected. Inoue might remain as the #1 contender but a loss is a loss and he will need to prove his name again as it's also the only way towards the top.
1186  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are Your Kids Aware Of Bitcoin? Teach Them. on: January 26, 2023, 06:17:35 PM
I do not have children but if I ever have them, I will teach them about Bitcoin as soon as they are old enough to understand the basics about Economics.
My family has a tradition of teaching children the importance of saving, I will continue the tradition and add some blockchain theory eventually, they may thank me in the future, since I have got the feeling decentralization will be more important than ever in the coming years.

Age really has to be an important benchmark in teaching bitcoin to children to prevent bad things from happening when they are adults, as parents it is impossible to take away their pleasant childhood with their friends with an understanding that maybe it's not the time for them to get it yet.

Does Bitcoin have a negative effect on kids? If no is the the answer then I think you can engage them and their friends on Bitcoin materials like cartoon works and drawing to play with knowing that their brains are very open to understand things even though they may not practice it then. Don't take their childhood play away but teach them early so they grow with the information so they can shift their focus on fiat currency which they are likely going to be seeing more as they get older.

May I ask how early? Surely, you don't mean that you will start teaching your children in their primary years because that would be futile as it will sound gibberish to them. Besides, in their generation, surely they will know bitcoin at an early age as it's becoming known already and it's hard not to see it on the internet and make them curious what is it. Just let them do what they want, our role is to be their guide.

1188  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Errol Spence vs Keith Thurman on: January 25, 2023, 07:16:15 PM
In any case though, all fingers point to Errol Spence and his camp regarding the fall out, and it seems that he is not denying it isn't it? because we just hear him and his team says that they don't need Crawford because they have cemented their legacy already. But as fans we think otherwise, we need to see this fight happening as we want to see the best fighting against each other, and that is the history of that division.

People already know the truth and it's evident enough why all fingers are pointing towards Errol Spence Jr. and Al Haymon, the fact is, the played Terence Crawford for months and let him expect that a fight will materialize. They haven't thought about their move well that someday it would backfire at them as they can't just hold those belts forever even if they got some influence.

Spence's camp are just hiding behind the reason that they already cemented their legacy, therefore Crawford won't be needed anymore. Honestly, when did they cemented it? After Ugas fight? Grin They can't honestly fool everyone with that kind of shallow reasoning.
1189  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Tank Davis vs. Ryan Garcia betting and discussion (May, 2023) on: January 25, 2023, 04:35:12 PM

Ticket sales on this fight is guaranteed as they are champions and both are popular. We don't see big fight like this all the time, that's why fans are surely willing to spend money just to watch this fight whether in the venue or through PPV. They can continue throwing words against each other now as it will continue increase the value of this fight and that would help to sold out the tickets and PPV subscription.

This fight is three years in the making but for one reason to another it never happen, but now that the two fighters show eagerness
that they want to clash this year, and both promoters agreed to make this fight happen, it could not happen if Gervonta did not get out of Mayweather's promotion, because Mayweather clearly stated that they want all his fighters to fight in the house or under the same promotion, so they can protect his cash cow and make money.
Everything on Mayweather promotions are all about making money not for legacy.

Just like Floyd Mayweather Jr. himself, all about making money and not for making legacy.

That's already one of the few obvious reasons why this fight really took some time before it materialized, apart from that and on the other hand, Ryan Garcia is definitely not ready at that time despite making noise in the social media and keep on calling some champions to face him but the truth is, GBP won't let him because he needed to be ready first, hence why Garcia faced a tune-up fight after another tune-up fight just to make sure.
1190  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: January 25, 2023, 04:00:09 PM

I am losing interest in the Grizzlies as well. Ja Morant is acting too much for someone who has not achieved anything yet in the league. They are still a good team just a bit inconsistent and too much talk.

If they continued on like this I think there will be many fans that will be disappointed with their performance, Ja "Almost" Morant doesn't have great stats right now and has been missing some of the crucial games they need and with the recent Sacramento Kings game I think they truly busted their winning percentage and right now when bettors seeing the Memphis Grizzlies names they are already sure that it will be another losing streak for the Memphis Grizzlies,
A 3 game losing streak after an 11 game winning streak.
I don't expect the Grizzlies to play like this in their future games.

What I don't like with them is that, they are acting like they achieve something already like @jakelyson said. TBH, they're the same as the Suns who are acting tough in the league and yet, they can't even win a title. The Grizzlies even trash talked the Warriors last season and look where they ended up. Even that Brooks is acting tough and trash talking on different players, but he achieved nothing as of this moment.

On their game against Sacramento, Morant didn't play and his impact on the team is too much that you can feel it once he isn't playing. Their next game will be against the Warriors on the road. The Warriors are 17-6 on their home against the Grizzlies who is 11-13 on the road. I'm having a feeling that they might lose again. :X

They are playing on the road if I'm not mistaken that's why they had problems facing those home court teams. Yes, it has backfired on them bigtime now, with how they act, even Shannon Sharpe is at it as well. They can't take what Grizzlies is saying, dynasties etc when they haven't win a ring yet.

And then the big mouth leader of them, yeah, high lights dunks and stuff, but unless you are not winning a ring, you need to be respectful.

That's why they will never win a championship because they are very disrespectful, they think they are the best team but their stats say their real standing. I'm also thinking that they will never win a WCF case they'll be lucky to be in that stage because most likely the Warriors or the Nuggets will slay them.

No doubt, I know that the Grizzlies are having some improvements this season but looking at their performance and stats, the same situation will likely happen to them once they get lucky to join the playoffs later on. They may be winning some of the games and might evade the chance of getting eliminated in the 1st round but once the games are starting to get intense, they will washed out, eventually.
1191  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: January 25, 2023, 01:28:10 PM
He still got a shot and I believe that he can still reign once more before hanging his gloves, which I also do think that's what he wanted to do too.

Adding to that, his plans were just focused on a title match. He didn't consider fighting again at the bottom.

He truly knows that fighting again at the bottom or a non-title fight doesn't make sense and it's good to just hang his gloves instead.

Both of his plans are title matches;

- returning to 115 lbs and facing the champion
- returning to 118 lbs if Inoue will move up and fight for the vacant title

Since he still sits at top of the rankings even after losing to Inoue, he is eligible for both.

Not surprising because he surely knows that he won't get anything more profitable from fighting boxers at the bottom as it will only attract a handful of audience that will result in a fewer sales generation. Whereas if he will fight directly at the champions or fight for the vacated title, he will be hitting two birds with one stone if he's really lucky as he will be getting a belt and the the purse split is somehow bigger than the first scenario mentioned.
1192  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: January 23, 2023, 12:49:00 PM
I always wanted Denver Nuggets to surpass Boston and lead the overall NBA win-loss race. But today its 9-game winning streak ended. Unlucky for them since Jokic is out and we do not know how long he will sit. MPJ was also absent but I thought that they can continue their winning ways with Murray, Gordon, and KCP running the offense. Bet lost as Oklahoma's thunder torched them in a close game. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is a different animal this season and OKC should start building the team around him.
I agree with you on that, SGA is such and underrated player, we are not talking about him but he always showed his consistency by dropping huge numbers in every game. He stopped the win streak of the Nuggets with his winning shot, this team deserves huge respect for what they have achieved this season so far. Currently tied with the Warriors in ranking, number 11 to be exact but if the trend will continue, they might make it to the playoffs.
1193  Economy / Economics / Re: After Budgeting, How Do I Deal With Unexcepted Expenses? on: January 23, 2023, 09:27:58 AM
Unexpected expenses are normal in business but much more in personal expenses.
That is why we allocate a budget for "others" meaning that can be spent on those things that are not listed on our expected expenses. Remember that we can't predict everything for the incoming and the only way to deal with this thing which really possibly happens to allocate some budget like 10% of the overall expenses target. So, we don't have to worry about where to get funds as we already have money reserved for this thing.
1194  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Mini bull run or short Squeeze (manipulation) ? on: January 23, 2023, 08:57:36 AM

In these times, the bitcoin to pump makes me wonder whether it is due to manipulation and short squeeze to liquidate many short positions opened on bitcoin?
I've never seen there is manipulation happen to Bitcoin, the whales are too silent this time - I consider those pumps natural.
I don't really think manipulations can be effective in a decentralized coin like Bitcoin, It probably works for altcoins. Might some whales are trying to do that but I'm very certain that they will just fail.

We have to keep in mind that the price of Bitcoin will keep on moving up and down. Currently at $22,700, not that huge enough to think about bullish but at least, people have their chance to sell and earn a few bucks as a reward of waiting.
1195  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Pumping After The Arrest of Sam on: January 22, 2023, 12:37:19 PM
You actually miss the news OP.
But anyways, whatever is the reason for the said price increase, we're too happy to see that. It was the fact that the market has always been affected not only by the FUDs but also with the positive news. People started to trust and buy more Bitcoin after the FTX issue, and the price started to recover back. However, it was not enough to keep the increase on the momentum and this is probaby because many people are also waiting for the pump and sell their Bitcoin. Too unfortunate but this is really happens in the market, we can't urge everyone to hold long-term - some get weak and sell.
1196  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How Visible is your trading plan on: January 22, 2023, 11:53:05 AM
You can't just put them anywhere other than remember all of them and apply them accordingly suitable to the market condition.
Because no matter what you do with your strategies but if not perfectly used, it makes no sense at all. It only becomes visible (for me) if that will work according to our plan. Traders won't just rely upon strategies but also have to work on their judgments. Many traders had fail to do this because they are too reliant on what is written on their notes and what is been seen online.
1197  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Devin Haney vs Vasiliy Lomachenco - May 20 on: January 20, 2023, 06:47:52 PM
And don't forget that bookies aren't there to giveaway free money, their main goal is to collect money, so it's safe to say that these bookies are just misleading us. Still it's understandable and reasonable to see that Devin Haney has been favored as the favorite in the bookies list, factors are too many to mention and some are based on their recent performance which dictates that Haney indeed got the upper hand compared to Loma.
We must remember the main goal of sportbooks is not to give precise odds but to make money, generating precise odds is just a means to an end, and while Haney should be favored, sportbooks could give even higher odds for Haney to win by virtue of knowing the fans most of the time make bets on the favorite and it is on their interest to take advantage of those tendencies.

And while Lomachenko is a great fighter the advantage Haney has in height, reach and age may be too much for Lomachenko to overcome.

I think you mean Lomachenko who will get more higher odds to win to make the bettors more confused and lure them to a trap to bet into the underdog knowing that most of the time, bettors are always betting for the favorite to minimize risk. In this case, Haney will indeed be getting the label of favorite by the sports bookies because they won't be labeling him as underdog because bettors will surely take advantage of it.
1198  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: January 20, 2023, 06:13:21 PM
It only make sense for Donaire to retire because admit it or not, father time has catch up with him, have you notice that thin hair line now? just like what we have seen in Lebron James, signs that they are getting old.

So this is his last chance, we don't want him to get knockout cold, if he lost for the belt against Moloney then that should be it.

It's time to admit that he can no longer box.

There's only a limit for a certain thing and Nonito Donaire should already accept the reality if it turns out that he cannot have a title in this division anymore, there's no need to look in the lower division too because there's nothing to prove anymore. He's been known to be "The Flash" but lately, he's not that flashy or fast anymore as his opponent are already catching up with him.

Let him have fun. If he still feels it, then push. Donaire just faced a fierce monster and lose that's why everyone thinks that he's done now. But for sure, he believes he can still go toe-to-toe with other bantamweight boxers.

I'm sure Naoya Inoue is the only tough opponent that Donaire faced in the Bantamweight. Donaire can even pulverize Paul Butler if they will meet each other. If there's a current bantamweight boxer aside from Inoue that will put Donaire kissing the canvass or will able to outbox and dominate him the whole fight, then that's the time to consider retiring for good and hanging his gloves.

No more taking chances if he still loses this upcoming fight.

Nobody is preventing him from having fun and even if he will push himself to the limit, it's his own decision because he's the only one who knows about the reaction of his body if he would spend another couple of years fighting. He still got a shot and I believe that he can still reign once more before hanging his gloves, which I also do think that's what he wanted to do too.

Let's move forward, we have plenty of games tomorrow to choose from.
I know betting early is not a good idea, but I will make an exception this time as I have an early errands tomorrow.

Jazz -6.5 - They have the momentum now, Nets are not the same team without Durant, so they are not different to a team they dominated which was the Clippers that visited them without Leonard and PG.

GS Warriors ML - I will be a little ambitious here, although this team will be playing a back to back game but I understand that they are desperate to win on the road. it's going to be the Size of the Warriors that will give them a win if they will be able to have a great shooting.

LA Lakers +7 - I think Memphis are just overrated, I won't be surprise if the Lakers will even win at home.

You should've bet with the Lakers ML as well in addition with the +7 spread if you believe that Memphis are just overrated. Anyway, I think this might be the Lakers last homecourt game before they go and play on the road after having 5 consecutive games at home, I will bet on this live later on.

And I'll be tailing you with the GSW ML, Jazz -6.5 and Kings -3.5 .. Good luck to all bettors out there for the games tomorrow.
1200  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: January 20, 2023, 03:49:17 PM
His 20 year run has never been copied, nobody played for 20 years straight and on 20th year still lead the league, thats just not possible, he is the only one and I am assuming he will stay as the only one for a long time.

Of course, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar is unique which makes his records hard to break and there's no doubt as well that it will take some time before his deeds in the league will be replaced. But I believe that these records are meant to be broken, not just in basketball but also across other sports as well. So, someday in the future, Kareem's records won't be sitting at the #1 spot anymore but he will be remembered forever as the one who had the most records and the first basketball player to do it.
