1181  Other / Meta / Re: @TryNinja Satoshi gifted me 50 merits, where are they? on: April 01, 2023, 05:28:05 AM
I didn't even fell for it because

1. I knew it was April fools day.
2. The format of the text was broken. That's not how we get the message usually.

So it was kinda easy to find out it's a prank from @TryNinja . Good efforts though.
1182  Other / Meta / Re: April Fool on: April 01, 2023, 05:24:37 AM
This is my first post today on April fools day. Fortunately, this time I remembered it was April fools day and Theymos would definitely come up with something just like every year.
So this time it's tagging the users as a spammer hah. Nice one. Lets see if I get tagged for this post.

Edit: I was able to solve the captcha. Nice game though.

A person who is desperately in need of money can do anything to get money. Gambling is a shortcut to money and many fall for this trap.
So people who are desperately in need of money will easily get addicted to gambling.

Gambling addiction shouldn't be blamed on the person who introduced gambling because it's a personal choice. Anyone can listen to gambling introductions but it is our personal perspective whether to gamble responsibly or fall for gambling addiction. If we are influenced by gamblers, it doesn't mean that we have to be compulsive gamblers. We still have a choice to control ourselves and have the proper mindset toward it.

How can "losing self control" be a choice when it's happening without the individual's choice?
A person who is unable to control himself isn't doing it by choice. He/She is just falling for it without any self control and without any choice.
Example: A smoker who wants to quit smoking but is unable to do it because of his addiction.
He wants to quit smoking by choice but we know how strong an addiction can be. Same goes to gambling addiction.
1184  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I never use wallet like a bank on: March 31, 2023, 04:43:44 PM
Some people get used wallets like banks (mobile banking) just for tracking or knowing if get received money from someone or payment.

But, I don't like them, because we're in a crypto world where don't need to install a bitcoin wallet like mobile banking on your phone if want just to know if received money or payment a week.

Yes, I did it on explorer, I just put my bitcoin address into explorer and bookmark it on the browser (simple, on chrome android, setting it as a shortcut in hope page phone).

If want more detail and receive notifications like mobile banking, you must register in your email on a specific explorer and subscribe.
So if any transaction is on that address, you will receive a notification in your email.

*Note:

We should know, Handphone is one of the target hackers to watch your activity, your life is being watched because too many applications out there we can't research if that is safe (close source).

especially if you are careless and always installed in what you like.

As I can see on the service board, many applicants as user phones and prefer on his phones to install the bitcoin wallet, it's very dangerous for beginner (ex bounty hunter altcoin who never use bitcoin wallet but expert use metamask, trust wallet, coinomi, or another altcoin wallet),

so be careful, start saving now, buy a laptop and create bitcoin wallet there, don't trust too much on your android because you being wathed by hacker.

change immediately your habits before it's too late.

Congratulations. Now the explorer knows who you are. Well, not exactly who you are but your IP address can be traced by them and will be linked to the bitcoin addresses you search on their site.
Most of the explorers hold the data of users and their search with themselves so that they can keep tracking them.
We never know when this data gets leaked or is shared to other companies for their own profits.
So try to avoid using explorers at first place and better use bitcoin core wallet to trace transactions.

Looks like I am gonna win the bet but eventually it's an overall loss because the range that's about to win is $27.5k $30k has 2.14x odds
So while my bet size was 0.00003 BTC I will get a return of 0.00002140 losing 860 sats on bitcoin price prediction.
But that's okay for me. Will try a better one next time.

1187  Local / India / Re: Separate section for crypto in new ITR forms on: March 31, 2023, 02:26:32 PM
Still not sure which one to choose but currently in the process of finding one.

Moving to Portugal or any EU country can be considered as an option as they are crypto-friendly in terms of taxations and trading or starting up a crypto company is a welcome move in most parts of EU. This is probably one of the reasons why majority of the DAOs and other small scale crypto projects set up their base in EU rather than USA. United States on the other hand is creating forceful crypto regulations and many startups are moving away from the country in large numbers.

I would consider Portugal to be a better country for migration from India as the cost of living is more or less similar to our country and it is easier to get a visa once you land there. The country grants Digital Nomad Visa for remote workers who earns $2000 or more per month and you can get one as soon as you move there in a tourist visa. Getting a Digital Nomad from our country would be troublesome as the Delhi-Portugal embassy is notorious for stealing your passports and there are cases where the passport was never returned to the candidate unless they went to greater extremes of filing a complaint on them Grin

If your crypto net worth is sizeable, sitting and wasting your time in this country would attract unnecessary government intervention in the future.

@Heisenberg_Hunter @pakhitheboss Just in case you guys decide to go to EU or any country and start your own company then do give me a job as well  Tongue
I am good at finding bugs and can help you in research, analysis, implementation and execution.

Well moving to a different country which is cypto friendly is the reason why many Indians have left India.
I guess Dubai is also crypto friendly as I just read few days ago someone moving to Dubai because of India's high crypto taxation.
1188  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Investing against 2024 on: March 30, 2023, 04:55:21 PM
As 2023 is going to be a tremendous year, and the elite are working towards the new world order whereby new digital currency will be introduced. If btc happens not to be part of that agenda, so will investing into btc against 2024 a wise decision?

I have hearing same BS for years now, and although BTC is a digital currency it will never be the method of any tyrannical rule because its basis against oppression. Now considering this year I am hopeful for rise in price possible bull runs in the mid and late years but I dont see any "elite class" take over or any of those pipe dreams of yours, so stop smoking any of that cheap weed in case you have been doing it.

While one must always strive to accumulate BTC whenever they have cash at hand and the price hits a low, it should never be the "cultish" thing of the century, because that is illogical and leads to mistakes.

OP is living in some imaginary world or has watched too many videos on Youtube about the new world order, LOL.
2024 won't be against BTC but mostly in favor of BTC because we have the bitcoin halving next year which means a steady increase in price.
We should have already started filling our bags by now.
1189  Economy / Gambling / Re: New Casinos Launched in Canada on: March 30, 2023, 04:42:48 PM
From the list of casinos on the website, I only know BC.game even though I rarely play at the casino.
I don't want to take the risk of playing gambling at casinos other than BC.game and prefer to wait for reviews from friends here who are more experienced than me.
Among the bonuses given by these casinos, I see that BC.game is in second place, giving the biggest bonus, but that is of course, based on the terms and conditions that apply at the casino.
And if you don't know about other casinos either, you should be careful not to try them right away, especially if it's not a crypto casino.

Even I am familiar with just BC.GAME from the list in OP. All the other sites are the first time I am hearing them.
BC.GAME is by far the best one among the list since it has been quite a while since they are operating.
They have also developed a lot of features in last few months which makes them at the top of the game.
Their bonuses and free spins are quite attractive when compared to other casino sites.

I have heard a lot about BC.Game, I think it is very good that it is almost number 1 in Canada, but I understand that Canada is a country where the rules must be fully followed and that is something I know because I know a great friend that Says that everything is very rigorous there and the rules are enforced, now, to have a casino based in Canada there must be many rules to carry it out, I understand that kyc must be left in this casino no? so that Everything is ok, I haven't tried this casino much, but I have seen many reviews that are very good and that is something that makes them quite reliable.

Every country has their own set of guidelines and rules to be followed. Every casino should follow the rules in their country.
If any company disobeys the law and does not follow the rules then they are just inviting trouble to themselves.
Canada must be stricter in punishing people who disobey the law which is why people tend to follow the rules strictly.
1190  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: March 30, 2023, 04:29:36 PM
Just two more days left and then the hustle begins again. Man City vs Liverpool will show us how the teams have been preparing these days.
All the best to Liverpool but I think Man City will take it away form Liverpool. On the other hand it will be easier for Arsenal to win against Leeds.
I hope Liverpool start to improve the composition of the game well. The opponent is Man City and of course it is not easy for both teams to excel. although Man City on paper is in its best condition, Liverpool is a club that is quite troublesome. In the Man City vs Liverpool match, we will see from the preparation of each of them who are really looking forward to this match ending in a dramatic way. The target of collecting points makes Man City impatient to maximize results. There was no time left because Man City also had to take care of their players so they wouldn't get injured in order to fight Bayern Munich in the Champions League.
After the international break is over, we will be presented with the big Manchester City vs Liverpool match, of course we know they are at the top level, even though I know Liverpool are currently declining in performance.
As an away team we have to be ready to fight them but I think yesterday's break can bring a little change to Liverpool they have to be able to put pressure on the opponent again and can't be careless anymore especially from a defensive point of view, about Manchester City I won't comment anymore he is a club that is quite a title challenger this season with Arsenal.
But at least there is still hope for Liverpool in the race for standings 4 until the end of the season.

We can only hope that Liverpool has utilized this break for good and comes back with some strong action.
Otherwise Man City will take it away like a piece of cake. The odds of winning are more on the side of Man City.
I have placed my bet on them and lets see how the match goes tomorrow.
1191  Local / India / Re: 158 crores collected from taxation on crypto on: March 30, 2023, 01:48:51 PM
I don't get why there they want to demotivate all customers having forex or crypto transactions by penalizing them with huge tDS deductions. They even banned SBM recently and stopped all foreign trades which was beneficial for customers as they could pay 0% forex conversion fee. Everything that's helping the people is banned by them.

Or so do we think.

Cryptocurrencies fall under the AML policies as per the recent guidelines by government of India.
This shows that India is very much concerned about money laundering and we all know how good crypto is when using it for money laundering.
This is one of the major reasons why India is against the use of cryptocurrencies.
But according to me, India should create more regulatory policies so that Indians can trade cryptocurrencies and not use it for money laundering.

One idea that just struck in my mind is creating India's own government authorized cypto exchange which allows users to trade cryptocurrencies.
This way India will be able to track money laundering, encourage crypto trading, utilize it for taxation as well as promote the use of it's upcoming CBDC.

Manchester City have disadvantage in their race with Arsenal. They have 5 points less, have to play in Champions League but they will have one big match with Arsenal. If they fail or just can not beat Arsenal and have a draw, they will see the trophy moving away to Arsenal hands.
Yes, Manchester City feels a little more burdened by the several competitions they are still participating in. Starting from April, it will enter a busy period, Pep Guardiola is of course very dizzy with such a situation, he has to rack his brain to choose players and set targets for competitions which are the top priority. In the EPL, of course, their second meeting with Arsenal is the final or decisive match, if City succeeds in pounced. Arsenal, then the opportunity to win the title is increasingly open, but if you lose, then Guardiola will have to give up on Arsenal and switch his focus to the Champions League because of Man's big target. City is winning the most prestigious title in Europe's.

Just two more days left and then the hustle begins again. Man City vs Liverpool will show us how the teams have been preparing these days.
All the best to Liverpool but I think Man City will take it away form Liverpool. On the other hand it will be easier for Arsenal to win against Leeds.
1193  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Which Sports do you like bet apart from the the listed one here? on: March 29, 2023, 03:38:42 PM
Recently I came across a few articles on the Internet while trying to understand what makes sports betting so lucrative. I now know that there are three big sports that every Gambler, Sports Enthusiast, and a lot of fans are engaged in Sports betting. I personally have not seen or realized it but a good majority of teens & preteens are already into it.

I hope everyone would agree with this list:

  • Soccer
  • NBA
  • Cricket
  • UFC

This list is not based on betting revenue or based on the number of fans. It is simply compiled by me after watching the activity on this board for different games thread. I am aware that I did not add Tennis, MMA and Boxing as my question is about those sports that are not being discussed here but you do bet on it either occasionally or on a regular basis.

I think you are right. Most of the people in my friends circle also keep talking about these sports.
Soccer/Football is my favorite one and then comes Boxing. My friends like cricket way too much though.
So yeah, I guess these are indeed the most active sports betting options in the gambling industry too.
1194  Local / India / 158 crores collected from taxation on crypto on: March 29, 2023, 03:25:04 PM
Just after the 30% direct tax and 1% TDS on crypto transactions, the crypto wave in India was drastically decreased.
A lot of negativity was spread in the crypto community of India or so did we think.
The people didn't completely stop trading in cryptocurrencies since an announcement was recently made which shares the amount collected as tax.
A whopping 158 crores was collected by the Indian government from crypto taxation and this number will only increase in future now that bitcoin is bullish again.
This is just the amount which people have shown to the government and we can't even imagine what would be the actual volume of crypto transactions from India.

1195  Local / India / Re: Why India government cannot beat the Bitcoin ecosystem? on: March 29, 2023, 03:15:54 PM
At first they would offer free service. Next they would encourage us or force us to use the service. If that doesn't work they will start the emotional game that you are helping in the development of the nation. In the end when you form a habit to use the service they start charging you for it.

Any UPI transaction of more than INR 2000 will be charged 1.1% , starting 1st of April.

Source.

They wanted to digitalize India but they never disclosed the hidden agenda. Now some of you would say it for the cost maintaining the servers. Do you think such an excuse can be given by a Bitcoin miner? Another reason why government cannot beat the Bitcoin ecosystem is that there is nothing hidden and nor the ecosystem allows you to hide.

It seems that the information was misleading and clarification has been provided by NPCI.
The 1.1% charges are applicable only to Prepaid Payment Instruments (PPI wallets).
There are no such charges for the customers and merchants and it will continue to remain free to use.

I'll go for "b" this time. As in "b" for bitcoin.

May be this is the last raffle or may be not but it's good to see someone taking the initiative like this for the sake of community.
Let's hope with this we see some traction in the board again.

@Heisenburg_Hunter you should tag all the Indian members so that they are aware of this post.
1197  Local / India / Re: What topic would encourage Indian board Merit source to get activated? on: March 28, 2023, 02:47:57 PM
Merit is a way of showing the OP that we like their post. Meriting a post cannot be forced upon and it's only an individual's choice.
All of us can continue posting in the Indian local board while not expecting merits. Posts should be to share knowledge and not just to earn merits.
While it does encourage us to post more often and pay more attention to the quality of the posts but again it's something we cannot ask others to give to us.
If merit is the priority then there are other sections of the forum where you guys can score some merits with quality posts.
Our true intention behind posting on this local board should to be share knowledge, raise awareness and help others.
1198  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can a casino ever run without the government's awareness? on: March 28, 2023, 02:40:07 PM
It's definitely possible to run decentralized gambling platforms but it has its own set of challenges as well.
Talking about CBDC, even if the governments force it upon exchanges, there will still be other coins which the exchanges will still keep accepting.
So people will prefer the coins which they are currently using and CBDC will just be another option.

Seems that I have 1 GT somehow which I got to know from the freebitco.in mails.
But what caught my attention is the winning chances which showed up to be 100% lol.
How can I have a 100% chance of winning with just 1 GT.

What was the title of the email?

Here it is. It seems that the issue is just with the email template and not on the site.
I just verified on the site and winning chances are correctly showing as 0.00005663%

1200  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will the altcoin go up in price if the bitcoin price goes up? on: March 27, 2023, 01:33:29 PM
I have watched the market and the price of bitcoin is going up, and I think and also usually if bitcoin goes up then the altcoins usually go up in price, for example if btc goes up 3% then altcoins always go up in the range of 7%. but what I see this time is not like that, for example if btc goes up 7% then the altcoin goes up only 3%.

and I want to ask you all what caused the market situation to be like that? and have people started distrusting altcoins or what?

I personally think there are seasons where bitcoin gains more than altcoins and then there are seasons where the altcoins outperform bitcoin.
It's always hard to predict when exactly the altcoins will give bigger returns. Most often it is when bitcoin has rallied upwards and is facing a correction.
Investors move from bitcoin to altcoins which is when many altcoins show double digit gains and then they face corrections.
The cycle keeps repeating until the point of return and bearish trend starts.
