wow, yes, there was an invoice attached at $500 per piece! lucky they asked me for one.. however, got me almost a 3 day delay for them not finding it.. i guess its almost breakeven..

Strictly business, its all about GH/s, price and delivery time. So why not  Yifu screws you this time, you think he won't do it again? -ev long term to continue to support scammers like this. redemption? i was part of 2 chip gbs, both refunded. now i got complete miners with psu and delivery for way less.. no brainer imo.. will for sure jump on gen2 first auction. feel free not to! more for me. screw hatred, give ppl as many chances as you can afford.. mine are even 2 days in customs at dhl with avalon at fault.. i'll live. |

So they declared them higher than what they were sold for? Don't they realize this will result in extra costs for their customers who has to pay VAT on these units. They assumed they'd sell much higher, maybe they prefilled paperwork. I doubt it. highest offer was 3.x btc.. which is around $500 at the time.. |

Just called DHL, mine came without any kind of invoice on the packages (thus held in customs)

what is the ROI period? Use http://www.bitcoinx.com/profit/ to calculate it as it assumes a profit decline into the equation.  I got 63 days based on 6BTC @ $170ea 0.15c/kWh power but prices move every day who knows tomorrow or how long it takes to deliver? I checked too, that's good! Would you recommend? those calcs dont count on diff increase. btcinvest.net is better. 2btc its well worth. 6 not so sure. |

dhl has asked me for invoice. Tradehill answered right away. avalon not at all.
When tradehill answered and cc'd avalon support. Then avalon support answered that they could send a pdf invoice.
I said, send whatever is attached to parcels. Now around 24 hours ago.
lets see if it ever arrives before monday.
Would be smart to attach the pdf when they said they could..

had a few texts from dhl , current location and last one customs and duty for 32 miners came t0 1200gbp, just about liveable takes price up tp 2.8btc a unit.
based on what invoice? blockchain payment? |

Its 20 in u.k. from what I know
yes, uk is 20, i believe some other eastern european countries have 18%, sweden has 25%.. so all eu, have different vat on imports (and exports). |

where did they get your phone number?
My guess is the tradehill registration/verification included a phone number, also I think DHL requires a phone number for international deliveries, weren't there some people who had to wait for ages for their avalons due to no phone number on their orders? It definitely seems like Avalon didn't like the price they got from the auctions. I wonder if after the first unsuccessful auction TradeHill suggested they start the next auction low to possibly create some "frenzy" and actually get much higher than the original ask, this seems to be one tactic live auction house's sometimes use (sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't!).
That would probably have worked had the batch not been so large and bar of entry into the auction so high, there were simply to few people who bothered/wanted to get themselves verified. Had they done smaller batches of something like 50-100 units every few days I think they could have gotten a higher price. Anyway congrats to those who grabbed some units, you might actually make some money out of these if you get them early next week. For sure. its a test. On gen2 devices, if properly priced.. they should get better movement. I mean, they just want to rid all stock of gen1 chips. they are even selling the 10k chips for 100btc.. |
