It’s first time that Japanese katakana character is used in famous crypto currency project.
I need some months to accustomed with it because I'm Japanese. ツ

They actually offer translation bounty recently.
For example, I'll receive Bitcoin as a translation bounty for August to December.
It may be wise to translate bitcoin.org compared with translating other shit projects.

In Japan, Bitcoin or other crypto currency are defined as "Virtual currency" as you say, but that definition will be changed as "Crypto asset" in some years later.

I think Japanese government mistook to adopt the name of "Virtual currency" because they just imitated G20's definition.
Although the definition will be changed, according to Financial Service Authority's meeting, bitcoin has not been denied to be used as payment method hereafter.

日本語スレであれば十中八九Anonさんでしょうね。
私もこのスレに挙げられているものは基本的にレポートしたので、他のものも削除されているかもしれません。
あと、最近はMember以上の偽日本語話者の投稿が目に見えて減っていますね。
それを受けてか、PMで翻訳依頼が増えて若干困っています笑
なんでも深刻な日本人翻訳者不足だとのこと。

私の評判等への影響はあまりないかもしれませんが、ビットコインの論文が皆さんにとって身近にアクセスしやすくなったことは確かだと思います。
どのコミュニティにおいてもそうですが、一旦悪い形で固着してしまったり、一つに権力が集まってしまうと柔軟性が損なわれてしまうので、

なるほど、おっしゃることは仮想通貨交換事業者協会も危惧していることと類似しているかもしれません。
大分一般的な言葉となった仮想通貨が今更変更かよ！っと考える方は多少なりともいると思われます。
元々安直にVirtual-Currencyを直訳して「仮想通貨」としてしまったのが混乱の始まりなので、
今後変更するとしてもしっかり吟味してほしいところです。

記事の中でまさか私が紹介されるとは思ってもいませんでした笑
今回の様にビットコインコミュニティに関わることで面白いことはどんどん発信していった方がよさそうです
Bitcointalkのメンバーは情報の最先端に近い場所にいるため、今後もこのような機会があるのではないかと思われます。

また、実は英語のBitcoin Discussionスレにも翻訳について投稿したのですが、反応はなかなか良いものでした。

Yes, some languages' translations was actually available on GitHub.
However, many ordinary people can easily check bitcoin-paper by this update.


I partly agree with your opinion. There may be other countries which has certain levels of bitcoin adoption.
For example, these countries have boards on bitcointalk but their bitcoin-paper has not been uploaded to bitcoin.org.

As one of translators, I wish a lot of people are interested in Satoshi's paper through those translations.

However it will be difficult for beginners to understand it if they don't have technical backgrounds.

HPを見て分かるように、今回のアップデートで多くの言語がBitcoin.orgに掲載されることとなりました。
真に分散化が進むためには少数の国にコミュニティが集中するのではなく、多くの国に分散し広がっていくことが肝要なので、
今回の更新によりコミュニティが一層力強くなればと思います。

正直なところ、現段階では期待されすぎな面はあるかもしれませんが、これは期待せざるを得ませんね笑

Bitcointalkを始めて1年以上が経ちましたが、その中でもTOP3に入るほど衝撃的な事が起こりました。

grin is now accepted for forum payments

theymosが最近建てたスレで、$Grin をBitcointalkの有料サービス（Copper member等）の支払い通貨として追加したとのことです(現在はBTCのみ)。
現在のレートは1Grin=10ドル程度であり、早速Grinが使用される実績となりそうです。
