121  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How we can introduce bitcoin to local people on: November 07, 2019, 12:55:08 PM
Honestly I'm not interested in teaching anyone what bitcoin is anymore because I don't want to repeat the times when these people don't believe me. So it's better to just focus on bitcoin and let them see what bitcoin is doing for me. I'm sure they'll be interested in it too and when this time comes they won't be able to reach me

I have the same experience also but nevertheless I try to acquaint them about it as simple as possible but what I realized is that we need to arouse first their interest in it!

Though its a little bit frustrating sometimes when I try to introduce Bitcoin to people because  they are somewhat resistant to change, yet I still hope that this situation will eventually change someday, especially if  Governments encourage their people to adopt blockchain technology and cryptocurrencies just like China's sudden change in stance about it. Imho.
122  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Scarcity is one of the leading factors of Bitcoins value on: November 07, 2019, 09:33:49 AM
Of course! Bitcoin's limited supply was designed to influence adopters perception since from the beginning of its inception - that it is bound to be very rare according to an estimated predefined time frame.

An analogy for this is that we could liken Bitcoin's supply to very rare mineral like Diamond - assuming it has also a limited supply of 21 kilos and knowing that it will reach its max supply in due time, then most of us would likely expect its price will go up due to its rarity and would do our best just to get a little bit of it!

Now this assumption would all be realized as long as there is great demand for it, because without demand, its price will eventually fall.

Here are related discussions which I think are relevant to the OP:

123  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Withdraw your funds from the top 10 Exchange now !!! on: November 07, 2019, 07:22:27 AM
Don't spread false news. You don't have strong evidence, links, information from where, and sources where it's unclear,
10 large exchanges have very tight security so it's not easy to hack.

Wow! OP didn't even bother to elaborate more on his warning or at the very least provide some credible evidence! Even if we assume that he/she had first hand knowledge of the attack, it is more unlikely that those attackers will only target the top 10 exchange but I think they would prefer those exchanges that don't have adequate defenses to repel any cyber attack.

This might be a scare tactic meant to spread fud or just another "boy who cried wolf!"  Grin

125  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Minter. The Internet of Money (TON & Libra will be integrated) on: November 06, 2019, 11:37:10 PM
This, of course, will not be on an ongoing basis, with each addition of new validators, the amount of income decreases and so on for 7 years. The most profitable to connect during the first year

Yes I understand the first year up to the second year will be the most profitable to do staking yet as of now, I see there are 36 validators on the network and another four will be added soon but its far from the 256 maximum validators! So I guess, its still profitable even if up to 126 validators goes online.

Btw, did the network or the block explorers did an update recently? I can't see my delegated token on the explorer not just like before where the delegated BIP tokens were included in the balance. Any ideas?

Update: Did saw now my delegated BIP balance on Minterscan.
126  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][IEO] LIVE! MOOZICORE - World's 1st music streaming service on blockchain! on: November 06, 2019, 01:54:37 PM
The staking program announced by Moozicore is very good and the reward pool is large, I can't wait when the bounty is distributed i will stake all the coins obtained from campaign bounty round 1 and hope with this program there will be many new enthusiasts joining moozicore

When did they announce about the staking program and supply of Moozicore seems to be very huge, it is going to the good news because people who are interested in staking will stack the coins. Till now, they didn't announce anything about when they are going to release by every time they are kept extending their dates.

Maybe the team could officially announce any immediate plans here in this thread so that it would be clear for the community on what to expect next and be updated on the project development.

Personally I don't prefer any major project announcement made on other communication channels like Telegram since its very hard to track, especially if you want to find any message that was previously posted. @Moozicore

127  Economy / Economics / Re: ‘Bullish for Bitcoin’ — China Scraps Plans to Ban Cryptocurrency Mining on: November 06, 2019, 11:57:12 AM
Maybe its China's strategic first step to reinforce its planned entrance to the crypto industry particularly on its proposed state backed cryptocurrency, that is why they have to project a "crypto friendly" image to soften the crypto community's stance on their previous anti crypto policies or maybe they were just afraid from a crypto-community backlash on it.

Simply put, if they were to promote their own cryptocurrency, then they must in some way or another also embraced things related about crypto (including mining), whether its a perceived competitor or not, just like the case with Bitcoin. Imho.
128  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: wrote a paper about the convergence of bitcoin toward the stock-to-flow model on: November 06, 2019, 11:26:43 AM
Hey, glad to read that you appreciated it! I too think this is super exciting, which is why I wrote the paper. And I'm really looking forward to this upcoming halving, because this model is supposed to predict the price on the day of the halving with quite a high degree of precision. Time will tell if I'm right.

I took your suggestion and replied to that thread with a link to my paper. Hopefully more people will read and provide their feedback.

Hopefully a lot of people would get to notice your paper, because if your assertion is correct, then a lot of them might blame us for not raising more awareness to the community about your research!

Now lets see what we would expect this incoming BTC halving... hopefully it will be for the best interest of the community! Smiley
129  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICO] GOeureka — Blockchain hotel booking platform on: November 06, 2019, 07:44:31 AM
I have got the chance to visit their website - https://goeureka.io/ and was surprised it has now a booking dashboard since everybody who've got GOT tokens have been waiting for several months for it to be finished!

So I've tried to book in a local hotel, hoping that I could use my GOT tokens as a means of payment but I was somehow disappointed because the site is asking via card payment! - which I wasn't expecting!

Is the site still under construction or not yet fully operational? Can somebody from the team provide us update about this project?

I was wondering why the OP or the team didn't posted any relevant update here yet?
130  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Minter. The Internet of Money (TON & Libra will be integrated) on: November 06, 2019, 07:01:42 AM
but it is safer to invest in validator coins, of course!

Of course! I've just checked recently my delegated BIP tokens and found out it has grown +3.8 percent within a span of just 10 days! Cheesy

Now I'm thinking of other ways to divert my other assets into BIP tokens because I always get excited when I see it earn every minute 24/7!  Smiley

132  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Pax a good holding on: November 06, 2019, 03:20:13 AM
I am selling BTC and want to know if PAX is a good holding spot till there is a low in BTC again?

If there is one stable coin in the space that is most transparent I will go for PAX, unlike some of these coins in the space that there is no proof of fund, PAX do have it and even Binance stable coin was hosted by PAX team, you know it is not just stable coins they are into, they have other businesses that run including exchange

Yes I agree with PAX's merits as a good stablecoin but I found it quite ironic that Tether's utility had gained significant growth despite of several issues it is now currently facing.

In fact, as per Coinmarketcap data, PAX being the second most used stablecoin next to Tether has a current daily volume of only about 1.07 percent versus Tethers current daily volume - which shows a very wide gap in terms of users confidence in utilizing both stablecoins. Any ideas?

133  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Someone loses four Bitcoin on the Lightning Network on: November 06, 2019, 02:41:44 AM
The FUD already discussed at https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5195729.0

So chill  Wink
It's FUD and even if it would be for real, it would not affect you.

Additionally, you can't transfer 4 BTC over Lightning Network easily.

I see this as another black propaganda to tarnish Bitcoin's image again maybe coming from the supporters of well known Bitcoin offshoots and also from supporters of other notable cryptocurrencies as well - all of them trying to strike down Bitcoin as the main competitor to beat in the cryptocurrency arena.

How I wish they could all co-exist harmoniously and be successful without stepping on each others foot. Embarrassed
134  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: wrote a paper about the convergence of bitcoin toward the stock-to-flow model on: November 06, 2019, 01:18:56 AM
- Well, yea, the conclusion discusses Bitcoin. But it doesn't dig in to the real substance of the paper because really it takes a lot of words to explain what I've discovered. I'm not going to repeat it all in the conclusion and I don't want to make the paper too long. If you're going to read any part of my paper just go to sections 3 and 4. Sections 1 and 2 are just intro stuff that you probably already know.

Now this is getting interesting! Although I'm not really into the technicalities, I understand that you've further improved upon the work of Plan B, and I appreciate that! I think its a kind of affirmation of the previous study which is critical to us since no one might dare to verify the validity of such work!

My only prayer is that Bitcoin's price would behave as predicted based on your mathematical models in that study and that would be very great for us all! Smiley

Also, maybe you could expound more on your ideas on a similar thread - Stock To Flow Model: Modeling Bitcoin's Value with Scarcity
135  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: wrote a paper about the convergence of bitcoin toward the stock-to-flow model on: November 05, 2019, 10:15:48 PM
Did anybody get a chance to read this paper? It's also being discussed over on reddit: https://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/drofp4/on_the_apparent_convergence_of_bitcoins_usd/

Did read only the conclusion part of your paper since there are many technical terms that I can't quite comprehend or needs more clarification especially that I have limited time right now. But in fairness, I find your paper very interesting and excellent and in fact I've saved a copy of it for future reference.

If I'm not mistaken, I've encountered some kind of BTC stock to flow analysis before and find all those analysis including yours seems to agree that Bitcoin's price are bound to be catapulted to greater heights considering its growing mass adoption and its limited supply - which I couldn't disagree!

I suppose this study/analysis will be more accurate had the only cryptocurrency available to us was only Bitcoin but in fact there are some notable altcoins out there that I think could influence the out come of this analysis!

Now, I think the community would be most grateful if you could or maybe somebody provide us an in-depth analysis using the stock-to-flow model of Bitcoin including other notable altcoins and I think we could see a more accurate picture of the result of it. Imho.

 - Only the conclusion?! The conclusion barely mentions anything discussed in the body of the paper! You gotta actually read it, it's got some important stuff in there.

If I have enough time, soon I'll read it but I tend to read conclusions to most research papers because I feel it is the most important part of a study where you summarizes the overall idea of that paper specially if your target audience are non-technical people.

Now, if you've clearly stated that your conclusion "barely mentions anything discussed in the body of the paper" then dont' get me wrong but I think you may want to redo your paper again because if your conclusion is not about the whole idea or content beyond your paper then what is it about?

Btw, I hope you would share to us your opinion on the idea of including the "altcoin" factor in your analysis.
136  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [IEO] CurioInvest - Bringing collectables into the digital world on: November 05, 2019, 02:10:37 PM
Second, spreading awerness should ideally be carried out by the project developer first, how can we spreading the awerness if the project itself could'nt maintain the price or at least didn't fall too much just like recently.

I think the project developers can't control token's price on exchanges because the market dictates it as stated in the "law of supply and demand",  unless of course they are buying back tokens to stimulate its price or doing some kind of pump and dump maneuver, both of which are not evident right now!

Actually, I think that as long as the developers are committed to this project and doing their job with utmost dedication, then we should be grateful for them in that sense.

Now if we have faith in the project but want quick ROI and want to dump but couldn't do it because tokens price is a little bit low on exchange, then I suggest we wait until the platform is fully operational and the team had done their best to increase token adoption - which could naturally result in organic growth of the platform and its token's price. I guess all of this are achievable but can't be done overnight! Imho.
137  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Looking for Volunteer Writers on: November 05, 2019, 12:44:36 PM
@OP, if you really want to build a successful crypto news outlet, then may I suggest you study what are the weaknesses of this existing news outlets and build it from there!

Now if you really want to have good articles in your site, then you must provide a conducive environment and terms where article contributors / writers would feel comfortable, including giving them adequate compensation for their work.

Please be reminded that the greatest asset any company would have is its peopleware because without them, no company will ever be successful even if they have tons of cash as capital investment! Imho.

139  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin? Cryptocurrency? Let me dug up what it is! on: November 05, 2019, 09:53:44 AM
Great write-up and it was very interesting reading it.
But I would advise you to use the search button in the forum before you create a topic like one because it has been created numerous times.
Here are some old posts about bitcoin history.
- QUICK HISTORY OF BITCOIN
- History of Bitcoin & Bitcointalk infographic
- 10 years of Bitcoin history, replayed in under 30 minutes

I'm not discouraging you for the effort you have put into this. You did a great job.

Nice suggestion in using the search button but I think you forgot to check on the last link your shared (highlighted in red) in which the Title is misleading since it is directed to a crypto project and have no connection to Bitcoin's history, whatsoever. Smiley
