121  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you think gambling every day is better? on: April 10, 2024, 07:48:39 PM
Asking if gambling everyday is better is as if we are also referring to the same question by asking if having fun is important everyday, there nothing bad in doing that, we can only ensure that we do things as accordingly to how they should be done in our own favor, we should not get addicted or try to be irresponsible with the way and pattern at which we are using to gamble while other people around us are always complaining, this should not be our own portion, instead, we should do things as according to how it will all work for our good.
122  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How do you feel when you experience violence while gambling on: April 10, 2024, 03:18:00 PM
Once i sense violence is trying to take place in gambling, the next thing i do is to exit the place before it turns to what other gamblers are not concerned with, but share in their consequences from such erupted violence, anything can happen and we may not be able to predict such, the best is to vacate the scene immediately, this is mostly common with the physical gambling casino house.
123  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have you won a bet with your last cash? on: April 10, 2024, 02:54:16 PM
Winning a bet with last last amount of money with you will be like you're on top of the world and it will also seems like you just earn the money for nothing sake, though its not something easy to take by gambling with the last penny with you and then you expect winning, most of the occasions this can happen may result to having loss, so i must applaud the gambler for taking this kind of risk and also winning at the cause, if it were to be me, i don't think i can afford to make such decision except i have no need to attend to.

125  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Government demanding from Binance the lists of its Nigerian users on: April 09, 2024, 03:23:17 PM
How na? Nawao Nigeria na really a crush scene oh. Na dat dis guy e don escape weti go happen to Di second guy? Di way I dey see this escape na plan work. Well we ni go fit confirm or tok anything about Di escape foe now but let's us be waiting to see weti go happen next. Dis I e now dem fit shutdown the whole exchange in Di country. I also saw Di news on my google chrome newsline and I was about to read it when I got your notification and I left there to come here.  Nigeria Government would have settled dis case with Binance amicably but they prefer dragging it without solution.

Now that one don escape, the second one sef go escape under the SEC watch. Pump and plain SEC don collect something na make dem get Di ododo to escape.
This has nothing to do with the SEC, but you are not wrong that there is insider work. Not only one person but some people among the them made the escape possible.

The second executive will be monitored more than before. I can not say if he can escape or not but it will be more difficult than the first. But I believe there is some plans that we do not know now. Let us see what will happen.

With this that has been happening already, i seem not to believe in everything the government gives as report because most of them are not as the real case is, two people cannot be in custody and one escaped from them and the other left behind, this looks more of being planned, well, am not to judge on that, but we need to see things beyond what we are just hearing from the media on how possible could they be true, except they show us the other detained representative, i will not believe it was only one who escaped.
126  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Mr president Tinubu alignment with Binance to restrict dollar to naira trading on: April 09, 2024, 02:36:58 PM
The government needs to understand this that its not only Binance that is involved, they are just being centralized here, there are other platforms whereby the exchange of naira to dollar exist, what the government should know is tier failure in the capacity of trying to stop p2p, that is not possible, if the stopped binance, what about other exchanges, are they not existing, is the Nigerian economy getting worse of better when there is no recent economic growth from the impact of the government on it people.

This has always been the usual experience with the gambling sectors, if we are to look some way backward to how far the olden days gambling is been done, we could realized a huge and massive difference to what we are having today in modern day gambling and the more we go the better and more advanced it becomes in the gambling sectors because new technologies are being introduced and gamblers are coping and enjoying the ride on many of these new developments in gambling.
129  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Be careful about some messages to your DM on: April 08, 2024, 12:13:51 PM
I believe some members are already knowledgeable about such but also I still believe that some aren't. The forum is a big place and any big platform that discusses crypto-currency is always a target for scammers.

The forum has done so much to frustrate those fraudsters and I think it should be commended although this scammers are dogged with their actions. They do send messages to your DM with all sort of crazy format.

I have gotten some recently and I would be posting although I have edited the link so it won't be clickable.

Quote
Greetings mate
Judging by your merits and answers on the forum, you are an experienced user of cryptocurrencies
The fact is that a few months ago i was hired as a cryptocurrency consultant and journalist at a well-known cryptopotato
At the moment i am writing articles on the topic "Development of cryptocurrency in the current world order"
I can only get true and comprehensive knowledge from the members of this forum
This is not spam, scam or a prank
I collect statistics for some articles
If the article will be popular,i will share part of my profit with you
To be honest,i'm afraid to create a topic, because now, under the new rules, the merits of the account can be removed Cheesy
I'd be glad to talk to you

-Regards

I haven't checked the authenticity of this message but it already spells scam. I won't even want to find out if I am wrong or right on that.

Be careful about such newbies, they come with all these enticing stories all to draw you in and then telling you how it's not a scam. In your best interest it best not to find out so don't even click the link. I would find better ways to protect my DM from such in the future.

Once i received something related to this kind of message on my DM, what i do is to delete such and ignore the user, that is all, there is no need of giving attention on some sort of cooked stories for the Gods, if he have confidence in what he is saying then he should make it public, there is no need for hiding what is not hidden, such could be dangerous to us if we fail to take any action on such, we have to be careful on some sort of deals or talks some of these newbies account are bringing on us, such could be implicating if care i not taken, now i see more reasons to why some members blocked newbies from sending PMs.
130  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: 40 merits in one post as a beginner, dream vs reality? on: April 08, 2024, 11:19:21 AM
I want to believe at first that its only a merit source that can afford in making that kind of a mistake because they are the ones that often have more than that amount of smerits to send and give, so even though a regular member made a mistake in numbers, its only when such figure falls withing what the user had in his smerit bank, also, we should know that we are going to be responsible for any merit sent on any user, because no one forces us in making such, but instead we find the post quality enough to receive merit, that is our own mistake.

1. At what age will you allow your child to start gambling? that is if you will even allow for that at all?
I would not like to see my child gambling, talk more of allowing him to gamble, because he might not be able to have self control over his gambling activities.

Though it surprises somehow when we are into something and yet we think its not good for us to allow our children do the same, gambling quite alright is a means of having fun, but do many gamblers understand this and have the same mentality of that, the child will also have his own decision to make after he is fully grown up to choose whether to be a gambler or not, it doesn't matter if we want such to gambles or not, they will take their own pattern either ways, through our influence or not.
134  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin becoming Legal tender on: April 06, 2024, 02:40:59 PM
Lets see the way this year is going to be after the experience of the halving and the new all time high of bitcoin getting close to $200,000 then we may say that some countries may because of that make decisions on adopting bitcoin as a legal tender, just as we have it with El-Salvador and Central African Republic, there is likely we see more countries into this adoption as a legal tender before the year runs out, because bitcoin has been globally seen and recognized as a digital means of making payment.
135  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think? on: April 06, 2024, 11:36:09 AM
Is this good advice for those who can't afford a hardware wallet?

Using a Bitcoin Electrum wallet or other, disconnect from the internet before generating a new seed and never connecting to the internet again.

Until you are ready to sell everything in that wallet.

Is this practice similar to using a hardware wallet? This advice came from a man I know who said to have been keeping his BTC since 2013 in the same manner, he said the internet/online is the culprit or enemy of every crypto wallet.

If you're investing much on bitcoin and you're yet complaining of the unaffordability of buying a single hardware wallet, then that means you're not giving the necessary attention to what can jeopardies your asset, even though electrum wallet is not a bad option once its on airgapped device.

It all depends , because if you're still using electrum wallet, its something different from hardware wallet because it does not have a physical showcase as how you could move, store , use and apply its uses on any of your interested device, however, there are alternatives as well to using a hardware wallet as you have given one example already, one can make use of a paper wallet too, or anything that has to do with a wallet types which falls under a cold storage.

Lets take a look at the family aspect of everyone gambling and try to give our individual opinions concerning these questions i will like us to discuss from regarding how we are gambling and how that can affect the family for the benefits of those already having one and those that will soon be in the league of a family man, lets make it as simple as possible in giving our earnest contributions on our take from this following questions i have for us.

1. At what age will you allow your child to start gambling? that is if you will even allow for that at all?
2. At what age do you see yourself quit gambling? that is also if some of us are going to ever do so?
3. Ever since you have started gambling, have you ever achieve a satisfying level that makes you think it has good impact on you?
4. Would you have missed out on anything if you were not a gambler?

138  Local / Politics and society (Naija) / Re: Is this the beginning of crude oil by-products price dropping? on: April 05, 2024, 04:53:50 PM
I read last month that it is possible for PMS (petrol) price to reduce this month if the refinery in Port Harcourt is fully functional. This month has just started and we are looking forward for good news about this.

What have they been thinking over the years without realizing how much they have been loosing when a whole country cannot make the utility of its old and existing refineries but instead go to other countries to do so, are we going to gain from such deals as if it were to be all done by ourselves.

Today, I have just read that Dangote refinery is now selling AGO (diesel) as diesel price plummeted. Diesel sold at ₦1900 in few weeks back but mostly selling between ₦1600 and 1700 per liter. But as Dangote refinery begin diesel sales, it started selling it at N1225.per litre.

Dangote is not only a business man, he is also a politician, you cant except someone like him who have already been suffering a lot from the downgrade on naira value to also loose more in bringing down the price of the markets on what he sells, he wouldn't do that, instead work on anything that comes on his own advantages.

139  Other / Meta / Re: Is gambling problem or anything related to addiction is an off-topic? on: April 05, 2024, 04:18:44 PM
Recently my thread related to sign of early gambling addiction thread was moved to off-topic. I’m not questioning the mods decision but I want to clarify what’s real rules on what should be on topic discussion on gambling discussion board.

I noticed that there have been more and frequent threads that talks about gambling addiction when there are more other aspects of discussions they can create threads on, we just don't have to keep repeated a particular topic or aspect in a discussion when there should be more other relevant contributions or post we can make in which have not been discussed of recent by other members, so i think the moderators are sing more of these and such has given them the urge to make decision on taking some of these related topics to off topic as they may applies.
140  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Decentralized vs Centralized Gambling....Which do you prefer? on: April 04, 2024, 01:46:52 PM
This have to depends on what we want, if we are interested in giving out private informations to their platform and don't mind the consequences that may come after, we can decide to use a centralized gambling platform which requires for KYC, but when we see that we cannot afford to loose our privacy with the level of the informations they will be requesting, we can then maintain with the use of a decentralized gambling platform, this should at least lessen the stress many gamblers are having as difficulties in using a KYC gambling platform.
