Ok, I'm not 10, but today marks ten years (and one day Roll Eyes) of me originally joining this forum! Which means you're getting a bit of a soppy post for my birthday Grin

Congratulations on this long time achievements and happy birthday to you, i wish i was also oppotuned to have known bitcoin over decades now, well i still count it a privilege because it was never too late for me to know bitcoin and join the forum, this place indeed is a large community whereby you met alot of people and learn from them, i wonder how many people were still active till date on the forum as at that time who were your colleagues from the names you mentioned, our own era never met the likes of them but i believe your time with people like Lauda among others will forever be appreciated.

Congratulations on your new age and for clocking a decade on bitcointalk, you're among the last men standing of your era  Grin
1122  Other / Meta / Re: How Can We Identify Someone Who Uses AI? on: July 22, 2023, 08:32:21 PM
The use of AI to make a quality post is a big offense in this Forum and I believe we still have members who are still doing as we speak.

There are some still using AI to post but i want to believe it's common to the newbies, the forum's rules and regulations does not go against it but most of the signature campaigns kicked against such, to me using AI is as if you just plagiarised which is not good enough.

I can't tell why they do it or is it because of how the high ranked members preach so much about making quality post before you earn merit that's the cause of people using AI to post or is there something we need to know that's the cause of breaking this rule.

They make use of AI for many reasons personal to them, some it's because they are lazy to learn and read to understand how they can present something on their own, wone feels it's more secure way to hide and do copy and paste than direct plagiarism, some is to physh for merits, some cannot make a good composition except an artificial intelligence bot do that for them.

How can we wash off this ill behavior?

We cannot clean them up completely because the more we do the more new members are coming to start another, except if the forum go against it.

What's the best thing to do to stop the use of AI from going on in this Forum?

There's a thread on reputation where you can report any AI post, they ended up being tagged there, but they don't get banned.
1123  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: You want to reduce your car fuel consumption on: July 22, 2023, 07:23:42 PM
You want to reduce fuel consumption for your car, read for this. Fuel price is too cost in Nigeria.

https://punchng.com/ways-to-reduce-your-fuel-consumption/

Another is that solar for home is good than fuel generator for Naija. Buy solar.

One does not need to be told to do fuel economization before he applied wisdom to how he consume fuel for daily use, there are alternatives means to use of premium motor spirit if we can device out some new ways and techniques and use them, there's use of biogas, solar system, renewable energy source, wind energy and many more ways which we can use to lessen the dependency on petroleum fuel consumption for daily use.
1124  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Quit gamble! Easy or Hard? Let's talk. on: July 22, 2023, 06:43:55 PM
Well that's true. It's like forcing someone that isn't willing to change to a rehab center and doing the same thing after getting out of a rehab. It's just wasting resources, money and effort on someone that no plan in doing the right thing for himself. It's hard to help gambling addicts if they aren't willing to help themselves knowing how easy it is for them to access casino nowadays.

I like your point here, they have to determine from their heart to change if not everything will results into wasted efforts if care is not taken, there's a stage an addiction will get to and go beyond control except if the person involved willingly determined to change but it would have been too late i most cases because they would have been seriously dealt with and left with no other alternative to live than quitting.

A gambling addict that has a resolve to change even without any help is much better than a person who has all the help but isn't willing to change at all.

Yes, everything comes with determination from the heart and not through pretence or by force.
1125  Economy / Gambling / Re: The Rise of Crypto Gambling: What You Need to Know on: July 22, 2023, 06:14:08 PM
When we talk about privacy well its not the case at the moment since reputable casino is now asking a KYC to their clients so with this being anonymous is not really a main case due to this conditions.

We are still left with options concerning privacy since the gambling platforms we used can be changed and we have to right to make use of a casino that has no kyc requirements for their gambling experience, this are what we should first know about a gambling platform before using the them to know what they support and don't, compare them to how we can be able to adapt with them, because we need our privacy as well.

But if we talk about convenience yes its really bring up everything easy to a gambler. But if we discuss about experience I can say physical casino still more better than online since the gaming experience is really different.

We cannot compare the two, everything has its own advantages and disadvantages, same also are the gamblers, we all have our individual preference when it comes to taste in choosing a gambling platform, some will vividly tells you they enjoyed the crypto online gambling than the physical one and so on, different ideas and different opinions and take on them both.
1126  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Getting started : Guide me on: July 22, 2023, 12:47:58 PM
I have recently joined the exciting field of cryptocurrencies and heard about this forum as a perfect launchpad to start my journey.
Honestly as a beginner, I'm eager to participate in bounty campaigns and explore various free earning opportunities.
After roaming around in this forum, now I am little bit confused where to start.
So here I invite all experience members to give your valuable thoughts and guidance for me

Atleast start from somewhere, but I will not support you to start with bounties, you need to learn about bitcoin, try to understand how the forum operates, get used to the forum's rules and regulations, read more and learn more to have something good to offer to others, i don't want you to see this place as a money making opportunity or avenue to quickly arrived in life, what can get you noticed and have early arrival is what you've learnt so far from here, which means you will do much of reading, learning than postings and hunting after bounties for now.

Helpful threads.

1127  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Top Bitcoin Wallets ? on: July 22, 2023, 12:26:18 PM
Coinomi is probably my favorite.  Ballet is also a solid wallet (it's both a hardware/hotwallet blend sort of). Electrum of course.
Even though Coinomi is a wonderful wallet, I wouldn't suggest a newbie to use it because of how complicated it seems to be. This is because even when you import your private keys into it, it produces its own form of bitcoin and ethereum addresses for you. Electrum will continue to be the best wallet, due to its security and user-friendliness it is.

If you're to choose a most preferred cold storage for your bitcoin, choose electrum wallet over coinomi, coinomi is not that bad but it has one or little setback some user may not want to make it their preferred choice, coinomi will not give you the accurate balance on your wallet when a transaction is sent but you can see your the transaction reflect on your balance when you import your wallet on electrum, also electrum have a function that supports RBF while coinomi doesn't, you can also customize your fee as you like on electrum while coinomi does not support ore features on that, lastly electrum wallet is a multisig bitcoin wallet and coinomi is not, at a point you will always have a need to make use of electrum wallet for any reason with time.
1128  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Lost bitcoins on: July 22, 2023, 11:59:11 AM
If the lost Bitcoins were for instance recovered will the price of Bitcoin drop  because in theory it would affect the amount of Bitcoin in circulation which will lower it's price

You should know this, that bitcoin transactions are one way forward actions that cannot be reversed, it's either the transaction gets confirmed and you lost your bitcoin through sending it to wrong address, if you sent to a wrong address, the coins are gone forever, if your transactions is unconfirmed, give it time to get confirmed because mempool might be busy atimes, now this is where people get it wrong, if you loose access to your private keys that allows you to have control over your bitcoin for yours doesn't mean your coins are lost, they will always be on that wallet till you have access to those keys or they remain there, that is not treated as lost coins.
1129  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto as Gambling: The UK government has laid to rest the controversial bill on: July 22, 2023, 11:35:10 AM
As we know, a panel of the UK House of Common Treasury Committee on May 17 proposed retail cryptocurrency trading and investment to be regulated as gambling as they viewed it as “same risk, same regulatory outcome.” I later threw this on board, and I was encouraged as people overwhelmingly disagree on this.

I know right from onset that even at their wildest dreams, they can't achieve this by any means, there's no way they can paint the bitcoin network black and the true colour will not fish out always, the crime in using fiat is far Higher than we could get with bitcoin, but because they are the ones in control of the monetary policies and handles the financial sectors decision, they wouldn't see printing of fiat without limi is fraudulent itself.

Since it's a mere proposal, yesterday, the Treasury's Economic Secretary Andrew Griffith blatantly rejected it as he “firmly disagrees” with the stance of the committee.

Definitely, not all of them will sleep and head to one direction, they all cannot reason together thesame way, there must be a contradictory opinion from their decision, bitcoin is now getting better and relieved of government threats since we've begin to have among the government officials bitcoin pro, they are there to raise a counter fight against every attack aimed at bitcoin.
1130  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Any thoughts on Web5 vs Web3? on: July 21, 2023, 09:13:40 PM
I know the idea of Web5 is still brand new (I think maybe the first one or two Web5 apps came out recently or are about to come out)

You're not sure of this as well, just as FatFort replied, am also hearing about this for the first time, there are lots of questions to ask about this if really an idea coming on board sooner, who is or are under this development, gow is it going to be applicable to the bitcoin network and technology, we know of web2 web3, while web4 is either under work or research, but we've heard alot about the metaverse technology, maybe OP could also ve referring to this, or rather he might also be referring to 5G network which either of them all is not under web5, maybe OP could as well enlighten us more with possible links that suggestion the development or introduction of this web5 technology.

Anybody on here looked into the Web5 concept a bunch? What are your thoughts?

Let's see where this current web3 is heading into before we batch into web4 and so on, isn't it good taking a step at a time?
1131  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Online mining on: July 21, 2023, 08:02:09 PM
I just launch a website for Trade and Mining , And i want to ask from which site i can get license for add a Crypto online Wallet and Mining System and how i get profit from this

Why do you want to venture into something you're less informed about, i believe it is expected of you to make a visibility study of a project project before you embark on it, I will like you to take note of everyone's observations and comments concerning this, if cloud mining is what you're referring to, i will advise you put in less efforts and divert to other things that could be more profitable and trusted by people because it's usually a waste of time in most cases.
1132  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you gamble because you don't have sufficient money? on: July 21, 2023, 07:42:18 PM
I have study gambling that the more you're on the run for money through gambling the far it is for you to realize what you want come true, gambling is a game of taking risk, no one have the hundred percent assurance that whenever he vet in gambling he must win, but everyone takes the risk to gamble with the believe that they could earn through that and also have fun, but i don't think majority of the gamblers gamble to make money and depend on it, making money in gambling is not that bad but total dependency on gambling is what should be discouraged, i don't see myself as one who depends on gambling to have money.
1133  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: do anyone have done this? with gambling platforms on: July 21, 2023, 07:22:16 PM
do anyone withdrawn successfully the winning amount and if yes what was the process, it was seamless or you need to pass a hard kyc?

Casinos can be grouped into two categories, the KYC casinos and the non KYC casinos, the category in which you belong will determine if they will request such KYC verification from you or not, you have to know all these before using a particular casino so it does not meet you strange when they require for such, we also fail to read their ToS which is part of the reasons we experienced having issues with them, people make withdrawals without issues, they have their procedures to that, all you need is to read your casino requirements for withdrawal.
1134  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: We suppose get FG recognized bitcoin association for Nigeria. on: July 21, 2023, 06:57:05 PM
Any need for all these bodies to enable federal government recognise crypto. Bitcoin already dey recognized

It's better to have everyone being decentralized independently than being recognized by the government, what good can the government do them for being recognized than to find means of regulating them and taking incentives rrom them as well in form of tax or bill as they may wish to call it, as we've gone so far today in cryptocurrency, i don't think there's anything that can stop bitcoin, not even the government.
1135  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Deposit and withdrawal now possible via lightning network on Binance exchange on: July 21, 2023, 06:45:43 PM
Binance implementation of the bitcoin lightning network is for their own increased effective use to engage it's users go along with making use of their services in more applicable ways for their clients, this changes nothing from what bitcoin is or increase anything concerning the bitcoin network, Binance is making room for itself through this incorporation, centralized exchanges will always take steps that makes more money into their business than to see the bitcoin lightning serving it's user than they got derved through it, we still have to be very careful in using Binance because it changes nothing from what it has always been.
1136  Economy / Economics / Re: Inflation is making a mess of my savings. on: July 21, 2023, 12:21:01 PM
You buy something for a certain amount today, in the next one week, that same item you bought  has charged Prince without any reason.
How are you guys pulling it through with this inflation?

There will always be an inflation all the time and everyone is being affected here, but how do we stand out amidst this occurrence depends on the appropriate approach we administer to help us plan and prepare against the consequences of inflation in our own economy and finances, what are the investment we made, how do we decided to secure them, we are also expected to have an alternative means to financial income, we are to make diversification where necessary and we are to also remain committed to what we do and be sensitive enough in seing something coming before it hit us bad, we should most importantly be independent especially in this deteriorating financial economy and venture into bitcoin as an alternative digital currency that cannot be affected by inflation.
1137  Economy / Economics / Re: What is political Economy. on: July 21, 2023, 11:47:58 AM
Snip

Your title does not correlate with the content you're talking about, if you're to go into full economic details and scope, it's something wide that we may not finished sooner, but channelling it to political economic affairs, talks about the roles of government politics in the establishment of a stable and flexible economy system, this is a global discussion that involves all economic settings of the world, how politics controls and relate with the economic development in the society, the role of man labour in every aspect of the economy and the government intervention in this altogether to have a stable political economy.
1138  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: GG.BET scam on: July 20, 2023, 10:35:49 PM
Obviously they have also blocked my bets. that is to say, I cannot bet or withdraw, and they ask me for infinite documents for verification when I have sent them absolutely everything.

We need to realize the need why it has always been said that we are expected to make research on whatever decision we are making and think twice before choosing a gambling platform because not all are reliable, though we got caught up sometimes through our own violation acte but there's more needs to emphasize that we have to conduct some convincing level of research on a casino before using them and also deposited the little amount we can afford to loose in them, there's nothing bad on regular top up of the account than making a one time deposit and then we faces some challenges with them.
1139  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Warning: sigft.com is a scam website that steals your crypto on: July 20, 2023, 10:28:29 PM
I see that you are a newbie and this is your first post. I am so sorry for your loss, this kind of scam shouldn't be your first experience of Bitcoin and Crypto. This might not get your money back you can find recommended exchange easily on Coinmarketcap. One of the exchange on the list is OKX which is decentralized, but if you think you prefer centralized exchange there also bunch of them on that list.

For those that have got enough experience with scam using centralized exchanges will know how to narrow their search on what they needs when it comes to making a choice, anything that does not give us authority over what we owe is not reliable enough for use, scam is real and it's better to learn from other's experience than when we become the experience others learnt from, newbie always fall this victim and needs to be aware and take caution.
1140  Economy / Economics / Re: Food security in the world has been shaken by Russia's actions on: July 20, 2023, 10:15:41 PM
I don't want it to appear as if there's more dependency on one particular country for the world sustainability inbterms of food supply and workforce needed in farming, this has to be the general opinion that we must all work on to give more priority to agriculture and let farming be what the government will support and encourage everyone to do, let's the whole world embacked on agricultural projects to encourage farming and sustainability for people not to rely on a single country for a particular supply, we are meant to help each other in food supply that's why you could important and export food items from one country to another.
