121  Economy / Currency exchange / Trading 4.3 BTC for Dwolla USD on: May 24, 2013, 07:31:20 PM
EDIT: Trading 4.3 BTC for Dwolla USD now, as I figured out you can't transfer USD between MTGox accounts.

Original Post: MtGox's withdraw to dwolla is disabled, so I'm looking for someone to trade me dwolla usd for my mtgox usd (or the equivalent in BTC). Some of my previous transactions are listed in this thread.
122  Economy / Goods / Re: Looking for someone to possibly sell me crumbled up paper balls soon on: May 23, 2013, 12:31:35 AM

Absolutely serious. Like I said, I might not have to do this. But if I do, it's to help prove a point to my friend.
123  Economy / Goods / Re: Looking for someone to possibly sell me crumbled up paper balls soon on: May 22, 2013, 12:27:00 AM
are you serious?
Yup.
124  Economy / Goods / Re: Looking for someone to possibly sell me crumbled up paper balls soon on: May 21, 2013, 11:36:49 PM
My English is not very good... Do you mean you want to buy 200 of this for 200$ ? Shocked

(image)
That is correct!

ill sell em for 50 cents each
Unacceptable. I will only purchase them for the equivalent of $1 USD in BTC each.
125  Other / Off-topic / Re: Xbox One on: May 21, 2013, 06:45:50 PM
Yeah, I don't like the direction xbox is going. It was a game console, but now they're trying to make it an everything. I already have a computer

EDIT: Kinect is pretty cool, though.
126  Economy / Goods / Looking for someone to possibly sell me crumbled up paper balls soon on: May 21, 2013, 04:36:09 PM
There is a possibility that I might need to spend about 200 USD worth of bitcoins on something worthless in the near future. I'm thinking 200 crumbled paper balls. I'm not buying right now and might not buy at all, but I need the security of knowing that I have someone to go to if I do. Any takers?
127  Other / Off-topic / Re: Anyone still using bitmessage? on: May 21, 2013, 03:19:30 AM
I am. There are a few mailing lists on it, with people posting stuff regularly (including one with NSFW girl pics). They are adding new features all the time, such as encryption for public broadcasts (mailing lists), and options to set your own proof of work difficulty. Plus there has been a surge of new downloads from China.

Care to list the mailing list addresses you know about and what they are?

Nice! Reminds me of http://whatthefuckhasobamadonesofar.com/ (Not making any comments on my opinion of obama, and would rather keep this thread on-topic. Just think the concept of the sites are cool.)
130  Other / Off-topic / Re: THE WORLD'S FIRST TAXI ACCEPTING BITCOINS! on: May 20, 2013, 02:56:04 AM
I remember a story about a taxi driver who was accepting bitcoin as payment, but I think he got fired because his boss didn't know about it or something. Pretty cool, though!
131  Other / Off-topic / Anyone still using bitmessage? on: May 20, 2013, 02:54:49 AM
I haven't heard too much about it lately, but I also haven't been frequenting the forums very much. Just wondering what everyone thinks about it.

I love the idea of bitmessage, but I guess I haven't really found much use for it because no one else I know uses it. I'd rather not force people to download this weird software to get in contact with me, but if I give them the option of email or bitmessage, people will generally choose email because they're used to it and most likely already have an email address. Is that pretty much the only issue?
132  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Nibble Exchange in Docs (by donjonson) on: May 19, 2013, 07:43:16 PM
Anyone else getting "The app is currently unreachable?" Maybe it's because I'm at work.
Working fine, must be a problem on your turf. (prob jealous sysadmin)
Damn, I wanted to buy my first nibbles! I guess I'll do it when I get home. Thanks for checking, man.

A few things are a little misleading. I'll edit the post with details later if they're not already pointed out, but I'm on a call at work right now. But overall, it's a very nice write up! Good job!

I fixed it! What is it?

137  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: POLL: Would You use a Bitcoin Search Engin on: May 17, 2013, 07:02:56 PM
I like the idea, but I probably wouldn't, actually. It's not too hard to filter out the non-bitcoin related results from a google or ddg search.
138  Economy / Goods / Re: The First Book in History you can only buy in Bitcoin on: May 16, 2013, 06:45:04 PM
I've needed a good book to read for a while. Probably going to buy when I get home today.
139  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How can withdraw to real money from Bitcoins? on: May 08, 2013, 07:55:28 PM
You can't actually convert bitcoins to other currencies. What you can do is sell your bitcoins to someone for other currencies either directly or through an exchange like http://mtgox.com/

Looking for someone to create/modify software for this forum [5500+ BTC]

The forum has a shit-ton of money in donations, and has been meaning to get new software for a while. But it's not happening for whatever reason.

Do they still need it done?

I can do that, I mean that's my fucking job (Making and securing forums).

I believe so. Based on Theymos' most recent (I think) comment on the issue, I think he's just trying to work out some details in the new requirements or something.

(...)

This project is still open, and the forum does have 5500+ BTC dedicated to it. The OP of this topic is not quite up-to-date on my expectations, though. I will update it at some point.
