Hi there Komodo comunity!
Is anyone experiencing issues at opening agama wallet? mine shows this message:

Connecting to Basilisk Network...
Connection status... 4/8: EUR

I tried several times but it seems like doesn't want to connect, any sugestions, please?
thanks!

Check address at kmd.explorer.supernet.org if it's there it's just a visual bug and you need to go to basilisk actions and clear cache refresh wallet

Can someone explain why BTCD still being traded and rising???  All BTCD should've been swapped to KMD already, no? what is the reason to buy BTCD now?

Btcd can be swapped until end of the year for kmd.  Also people try to capitalize on the arbitrage between the 2 markets

The swap platform is confusing the hell out of me. Ive downloaded the agama wallet, but how do I import my coins from my private key where I swapped the bitcoin dark? I open agama but my coins don't show up https://kmd.explorer.supernet.org/address/RJ7tcpBK5LWrpMLLeFjGYkce3n1Smiv4Xe

Select Basilisk mode and kmd coin
Enter pass phrase for your address
If coins are not visible in gui  go to basilisk actions and clear cache and refresh wallet.
Make sure to have most recent version of agama

the website seems to be down? Can't access https://komodoplatform.com/ says

"You have been banned from this site.

If you think there has been a mistake, please contact the administrator via proxy server."

Probably cloudflare try from a different browser and/or proxy

Komodo interested me. But what is most special future of Komodo?

Partial list of features:

5% a year coin generation that everyone can take part in equally and not limited to people with the hardware to mine or large enough supply to be staked

Additional security provided by notarizations to Bitcoin blockchain

Advanced privacy with a fully decentralized coin tumbler that uses zkSnarks and coin mixing techniques with no 3rd party involved

Cross chain decentralized exchange

Spawn a new blockchain from commandline

Pegged fiat assets - the convienence of Blockchain tech to transfer fiat value and maintain its fiat price

And soon enough poker betting and very possibly the worlds first real world Lightning Network application .

You obviously don't understand how Komodo mining works.  Around 75% of the blocks go to notary nodes.  The rest of your speculation was based off of this "huge miner" hypothesis therefore doesn't need addressed

if thats the case i'd like to know more about this.
Could you share some more information about notary nodes?

It is necessary to claim the interests in the swing wallet or are added automatically to the balance?

You need to send a tx to claim interest
130  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][KMD][dPoW] Komodo - Zcash Zero Knowledge Privacy Secured by Bitcoin on: September 03, 2017, 04:49:49 PM
whether today is a birthday KOMODO ? if it is true today's birthday KOMODO , the gift is surprising to the users KOMODO , the price is up + 65% from yesterday.
Maybe the party starts from last night hopefully I do not miss this party.

its because there has been a HUGE solo miner for ages now.
Currently it appears that person is only pumping the price to dump all their mined komodo.

If you look at net hash now, you can clearly see what i'm talking about.
6msol, while all public pools together not even reach 1msol.

Great centralization, the "big" announcement wont do anything about this.
So no mather how big the announcement will be, komodo is fucked when it comes to network security.

That seems far fetched.

Explain why its far fetched?
If you use your common sense you can see it clearly.
just look at the data out there... compare pools. add it all up and come to the same conclusion..
I have seen this pattern for a long time now. I myself have a decent farm of ~15ksol@~10kwh. But the magnitude of what I'm talking about is of the scale.
It could be actors like genesis mining but thats just as bad as a private miner.

A large miner like this controls price since 90% of all generated coins go to this person. If they don't sell price goes up, if they sell, price goes down.
They also hold the power to manipulate transactions. It's kinda like discusfish back in the day (you know, flypool) they eventually opened up to level the play field.
So should this miner, either spread the hashrate over different actors or open up your own pool.
Preferable the first option, since the second really doesn't change a thing except it adds a little transparency.

I'm scared of the possible implications this can have for a broader acceptance of KMD.
Don't get me wrong, I would also like the project to succeed.
If you have other views, please do share them with a little bit more then just
"that seems far fetched"

Go make shit up elsewhere troll or show some proof that one person is pumping the price.

Very nice of you to call someone with a legitimate concern a troll.
The proof is out there, you can see it yourself.

Hashrate is suspicious so its the 60% increase.
It didn't happen because of some crazy "big announcement" announcement, crypto people are way more sceptical...
Try to be constructive please, the only one trolling right now is you.

You obviously don't understand how Komodo mining works.  Around 75% of the blocks go to notary nodes.  The rest of your speculation was based off of this "huge miner" hypothesis therefore doesn't need addressed.

Around 7 million coins were produced this year. ~5mil from claiming interest ~2 from mining .  Of the mining rewards 3/4 went to notaries. There are 64 notaries  so each receives about 23k kmd.

Additional to this split mining system is our dpow system which acts as a checkpoint system.

Can someone tell me where I can find my Komodo I swapped on the platform? It says I have 0 Komodo but the swap information is on the right hand side and it definitely swapped.

Check the address at kmd.explorer.supernet.org

I  had 100 KMD and I got 0.05 Jumblr ....does it seems right or should I get exactly 100 Jumblr?

No that is correct.   only 50000 jumblr were airdropped.
133  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][KMD][dPoW] Komodo - Zcash Zero Knowledge Privacy Secured by Bitcoin on: September 01, 2017, 09:16:48 PM

Thanks, of particular interest to me using the barterdex would be coins that are Proof of Stake type coins like DCR, RADS, STRAT, GAS(from NEO) or interest paying like KMD.

Also on the list, where it says Impossible, could it be possible for some of these coins if they made some adjustments like it appears they may do for GAME?: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1266597.msg21357003#msg21357003

STRAT is in the process of being integrated.   The issue with the others is that they either do not support native multisig or are missing something like CLTV and/or gettxout .   I believe that there are other PoS style coins that can be integrated,   as coins implement what we need   we will try to get them on BarterDEX.
134  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][KMD][dPoW] Komodo - Zcash Zero Knowledge Privacy Secured by Bitcoin on: September 01, 2017, 06:28:26 AM
Primarily users use the lite client or web wallet which does nothing for the decentralization aspect of crypto currencies,  though for at least Waves and Ethereum there is a full node client with gui.  Mind you it took over a year each for both projects to do this.

James took a different approach with Agama and Iguana Core,  focusing more on the importance of each user acting as a node.   And recognizing the flaws in lite client setups created basilisk which connects to random nodes of a 64 node network.

It is buggy no doubt,  but when perfected will be an excellent crypto user solution allowing for all the different things you can do with crypto in one place.
135  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][KMD][dPoW] Komodo - Zcash Zero Knowledge Privacy Secured by Bitcoin on: September 01, 2017, 05:26:58 AM

Ok, things have definitely gone bonkers in Cryptoland, folks!   A simple re-test of the ATH in BTC terms means that KMD will be trading @ $5!!!   Shocked

$5 is nice, but $20 is where dreams come true. Tongue

$20 is nice as well but $100 would be better, so I can retire!

I will sell all of mine next price hike! tired of BS in projects like this.

personally I am tired of idiots who post baseless complaints like whiny little brats. oh, and as the local shill says -'cheers'
just to be clear I am referring to the post by 'ka82'.

And what's your "base" for $5, $20, $100 valuation since your comments have solid supporting facts?

The OP's comments were specifically referencing the KMD all time high value - his point being that when it returns to that level, which isn't a big stretch, that would put its relative valuation to BTC at around $5.

My post about $20 was just having some fun, based on nothing... and the subsequent $100 was probably the same.

As far as this being a shit project, uhh right. I've held since early BTCD days, I've seen some serious stuff happening since then, this project is in many ways unprecedented. I'm sorry you don't see t that way. Cash out on the next rise, there's plenty for everyone.

Mr. awill333 was saying that my comments are baseless...but these valuations are also as much baseless  as my complaints...
I just haven't been able to understand the use case of this project, while in other projects you can at least clearly understand what the purpose of the crypto is...

also if you guys are really concern about the USD valuations and want to get rich soon and don't care too much about the project, how come you didn't invest (speculate) on other cryptos which some came even after komodo, starting from less than $1 and now they're all way up, for example:

OmiseGo:     July 14th:  $0.5   >     Aug. 31st:   $11.94   (24 times)
Nexus:         Feb. 5th:   $0.11  >     Aug. 31st:   $3.05     (27 times) (only in 2 exchanges)
Bitconnect:   Feb. 5th:   $0.51  >     Aug. 31st:   $136      (267 times)
Lisk:            Feb. 5th:    $0.16  >    Aug. 31st:   $7.28      (45 times)
PIVX:           Feb. 13th:  $0.01  >    Aug. 31st:   $3.53      (353 times)
NEO:           Feb. 5th:    $0.13  >    Aug. 31st:   $32.85     (253 times)
Ubiq:           Feb. 5th:    $0.05  >    Aug. 31st:    $2.76      (55 times)
Waves:        Feb. 5th:   $0.22  >     Aug. 31st:   $6.09       (54 times)
Shifts:         Feb. 5th:    $0.03  >    Aug. 31st:   $2.32       (77 times)
Stratis:        Feb. 5th:    $0.09  >    Aug. 31st:   $7.33       (81 times)
Bitshares:    Feb. 5th:    $0.003 >   Aug. 31st:    $0.15       (47 times)
Komodo:      Feb. 5th:    $0.11  >    Aug. 31st:   $1.46       (13 times)

Please don't tell me the dollar valuation doesn't matter...this isn't something that I started....above are facts that you could certainly become richer if you were invested in any other cryptos than kmd.

One way tp measure the performance is the above valuations and above data clearly tells me kmd is under-performing comparing to statistically sufficient crypto samples.
wow you really laid it out there. im a big holder of this project, been since ico, and i see so much going great with the projects jl777 does, barterdex as one, but what confuses me is i recommend this constantly, twitter, and my investment groups, and everytime i explain what kmd is, jumblr, barterdex, they get excited, excited enough to buy, but as soon as they have to deal with using the wallets, the excitement fails. i dont know why they made another wallet, aka, gui, before agama was out of beta and had zero bugs. or if agama was going to have bugs, why not make a fully functional non beta gui. I mean, Neo had a working gui a week or so after rebrand that was done by the community. I just dont understand what is point of having many not fully functioning wallets. Just need one that grandma can work and that is reliable.

Centralization is why many projects like NEO, Waves, Ethereum were able to offer a "grandma" wallet right out of the gate.   Web Wallets and Lite Clients  connect to one server.  Other projects have forgone GUI entirely like Zcash.  New release of Agama is coming out shortly and notary nodes are working on providing better connection.

As for why a BarterDEX GUI:  The explanation is simple,  currently Agama is not stable enough to do BarterDEX swaps due to some native mode issues.   Many people who favor BarterDEX tradable coins already have a coin daemon for their favorite coins.   The BarterDEX GUI is just an interface for other coin daemons.    Considering that the more volume that BarterDEX generates the higher KMD price goes it is important to have an easy to use solution that is compatible with the current way people do things so that they will be inclined to use the service and generate revenue.

Great news and congrats, my question is this; ive had KMD sitting in my wallet for about 2 weeks (agama) how does the Jumblr process go? if im not mistaken it should be automatic.

 Smiley
What about the kmd that are on blockchain?will they also get jumbler? How can I get it

If you have KMD on the blockchain in an address you have the passphrase/private keys for you will be good.    KMD and Jumblr share the same address scheme so the passphrase of one is the passphrase of the other.   The snapshot was just taken at 472000.  James said the distribution will be a little later on, estimate Friday if I remember right but thats not set in stone

What's this about dividends? Do you need to have your KMD in an address you control. Like AGAMA wallet? My calculations gives me 4 days for 2000 blocks. I'm trying to get AGAMA working at the moment without much joy. I want to have a play with the beta BarterDEX.

2000 blocks is a little less than a day and a half.  1 minute block times give you 1440 blocks in a day.

Yes as long as you have access to the private keys and/or passphrase to generate such  you can claim that address' jumblr share.

How do I get the sharedrop of jumblr? I have Komodo in Bittrex, but I'm pretty noob when it comes to tech.... Please a quick description of how to do it.
Thanks a lot, and thanks JL for all the updates.

the american story of 'the tortoise and the hare' comes to mind, with regard to the complainers. sort of like someone blowing their wad too quickly, a rapidly appreciating coin based on no true utility will ultimately have little value compared to the long term solutions presented by innovation and solid development.

some short time ago the bitcoin was worth a mere $400. sure did spend a few of those in my day, along with the $5 bitcoin. (when i started into all of this). sure did need the money enough to spend all of the btc that I had.. now look at today, do I look with regret? $4k plus and rising.. naw, no regret just optimism for the newer and the better. so far the kmd went up 30% since I started holding them, in not much time. sure when they go up 10x-100x I will be very happy, meanwhile I will bide my time in happiness that i don't have the spend the kmd this time, and I can hold them until they do what bitcoin did. for those that says that is impossible I would laugh and reply that anything is possible.

what is relevant is the long term vision not the short term wad blowing so people can make some easy money..

my only gripe with kmd although it is a point of recognition, is at the same time a dependency, on the bitcoin network. personally I don't see bitcoin making it through the long haul (yes you can hate me for the statement thats fine). thoughts there is that meanwhile, and somehow the kmd network is gaining independence from bitcoin as kmd evolves. i know this is not indicated in the published plans but perhaps somebody of intellect can factor in the potential that the bitcoin network may not be here forever. and during this time steps towards komodo fortification can manifest. in this way (hopefully it is my prayer!) kmd can exists, *someday* independently of bitcoin? and if you told me this was true then I would say we have a real winner. the other coins that show promise of actual implementation can be there also, but not the same faults repeated over and over.
KMD notarizations can be changed to use something other than BTC, in the event that makes sense to do.

But does it rely of the existence of another Blockchain?
And in case KMD is the leading Blockchain (like BTC now) can it also run without any other Blockchain?

Yes it can run by itself .
