kinda similar page on moneroeconomy.com

And "working coin as transaction currency". - it works. I've transacted.
It's full of spelling errors. Who runs this page?
I want to contribute by correcting some of them.

But since I am admin here, I can correct the text.

in germany private cash transfer are unlimited. most private car trades are made in cash (reasoning is if the seller claims insolvency he keeps the car and the money - with cash its not possible)

BUT:
 - many companies have limits (e.g. "Deutsche Post" 2500€)
 - you have to explain yourself to your bank when depositing (i even had to explain myself once when i sold gold (directly at my bank) for just(!) 500€)

but i think you are right that cash will be more restricted.

Yeah.

For instance, there could be Monero denominated IPO and with that money the created corporation buys different (fiat denominated) assets that are safe and brings cashflow (such as real estates with premium-cashflow) and then pays dividends in Moneros for instance monthly/quarterly.

There are already two:

  • CKG (crypto-kingdom gold) - rpietila explained. And you don't need to play. You can 1) just deposit and wait 2) hire a wealth manager which will (hopefully) optimise your profits for a fee
  • Cryptocoins-dice.com (investing, not gambling). The admin is legit, I have his phone number and I'll get his ID, we talked a lot and will physically meet (as well as a lot of other Bitcoiners to testify) on the 30th of March. Estimated APR (based on statistics for just-dice): 50% Sure, as long as multisig is not implemented in Monero, there are risks. Not that other assets like GAWminers are better.

Now we really need OTC markets to clean all these coins from the exchange into stronger hands.  Grin

C'est quoi la différence entre darknote et monero ?
Parce que darknote, il a une GUI ;-)
La différence ? Commençons par tout ça: What's so special about Monero
Puis on n'a pas une GUI, on en a quatre, dont deux d'excellente facture (#lightwallet, #monerox) et une en web wallet aveugle, mymonero.com (le wallet n'as pas accès aux fonds, tout est fait côté client).

I hope my wording will help increasing the visibility.

Now it's about time to thank you the developers for taking us through the dark ages from approximately October 10th until now. Your determination to develop the coin voluntarily, when all it did pricewise was bring losses to everybody, is worth of the highest praise.

Coincidentally Crypto Kingdom was launched in 2014-10-10 and its Ancient era ended 2 days ago. While my concentration on CK may have brought short term damage to XMR price (assuming my effect is positive when I do open my mouth), now we have me back in business, and Crypto Kingdom is soon going online.

The future indeed looks bright and I doubt that even this short-term uptrend is over yet.

As HM The King, I establish the Order of Core Team in Crypto Kingdom. All the 7 core team members are awarded the Knight Commander rank, and they have the right to award Knight rank to whomever they wish.

Every Knight Commander also gets an engraved gold chalice weighing 200 gold + 800 gold free trading. (Gold is trading at 0.503 XMR currently, prior to its listing to Poloniex.)
The Blessing of Our Lord is upon you, Your Majesty.

Ladies and gentlemen! Monero has now changed the trend.
We are now officially in the bull markets.
Monero did not change any trends (except its own). This is just the end of the correction of BTC. As much as I would like Monero to have this kind of influence, we still are in a BTC market (and that should last at least two more years). Good timing, that's all (and I have some private information that confims that this is "just" a lucky timing).

For information, some weeks ago (and no, this is not my private information):

(sure, the "Dash event" helped too. Event alignment. Probably something astrological is at work)

Are you talking about the original bitMonero fork from bytecoin?
I forgot I was the one intiating the take over, but in retrospect, that doesn't surprise me a bit Smiley

I decided to expand upon your excellent post. WIP https://forum.getmonero.org/20/general-discussion/211/history-of-monero

TED talk that has connected with me.

Also, for me, connects with Monero.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qp0HIF3SfI4#t=14

(18 minutes)

I finally watched this. Thank you, Ginger, for the link. It has also connected with me and both Sinek's "Golden Circle" as well as the "Law of Diffusion of Innovation" are very pertinent to Monero.

I would highly recommend that the Devs and all Monero Early Adopters watch the video.
I believe that the Devs are doing their thing the right way, according to the premise that people will get onboard with Monero not because it is secure, private, and untraceable; but because they believe in the tenets of security, privacy, and personal liberty.
After watching the video (and another one, "how great leaders inpire action", from the same orator) I agree. And would say (call me arrogant) that people follow the team also because "we do give a shit".

Security, privacy, personal liberty can be achieved in unethical way, with distant and haughty dev who know better than caring for the community. After all, Cryptonote is just that: we coded a great with security, privacy and personal liberty, but we disdain you that much we will fuck you with no real communication and with a huge scam (granted, as fluffy told me this morning, with 80% premine, you can't really trust ring sig, but that still leave the fucktard attitude and Bitmonero was like that).
134  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero - A secure, private, untraceable cryptocurrency - 0.8.8.6 on: March 10, 2015, 06:58:45 PM
I think this is a big misunderstanding. Since it is an official GUI, the devs just don't want to release some half-baked thing with a lot of bugs. On top of that, the official GUI wallet will not be some simplistic thing which can only send and receive, but more like an account that has a wide variety of other options as well.
Good summary. For more information, Editorial: why is the official GUI wallet not released yet

I am planning to make presentations on XMR to various alternative investment conferences over the course of the coming months.  I have seen quite a few helpful infographics, suitable for expository presentation to such audiences, but they have been scattered re-postings of material sourced elsewhere, for the most part.  Has anyone collected media assets for investor education?  If you think it is a suitable time for the investor pool to expand, it may behoove you to send me your best stuff.

this is david L's / fluffypony's coinfest estonia presentation.

I would also add this (requires more illustrations)

Editorial: what's so special about Monero

It is not like Privacy is a BTC killer, it will just take a portion of the market.
And remember that privacy is not mandatory with Monero. It is optional. So the argument "Bitcoin for mainsteam, Monero for the rest" doesn't hold anymore. See slide 9 on regulatory compliance of the aforementionned presentation, that I also just now exported as PNG:

My alter ego being one the core developers, I welcome this announcement with much excitement. I will acquire my allowed share of 25 XMR of  Monero House coins.

I take advantage of the opportunity to announce that now that the ancient times are over, we cannot expect everyone to know every of us. Heraldry will become more prevalent. And here is the arms of the House d'Armagnac.

d'Armagnac

Its blazon is as follows (and is in French, since blazon are done in French, even in Great Britain):
D'acier au lion d'orangé, qui est de la famille d'Armagnac
(litterally: of steel to the lion of orangey, which is of the d'Armagnac family)

It is an adaptation of the arms of the historical d'Armagnac. Tinctures (colours) have been changed for those of Monero.

Join the Church!

The Church offers free lodging to anyone will to join his ranks. In exchange, you will work and live as a cleric and you can join one of the many orders, progress in ranks...

Are you interested in quenching our citizens' thirst? Then the Fellowship of Benedict, responsible for all the beer in crypto-kingdom, will be for you.
Maybe you are in more abstract matters, craving for knowlege, understanding, and teaching? In that case, the Poor Company of Theophany is what you are looking for.
Or does your strenght relies in your muscle and you will to protect the poor. The Knights of the Temple promise you foreign expeditions and protection of any pilgrim or merchant or else.
You do not have to choose now. You can be a clerk at the office or enter the Path of Ordinary and start your travel to become a priest in our churches, starting as an acolyte and progressing all the way until you are in charge of your own church. And when new orders will be created, you will be allowed to change path.
The Church care for the soul of any citizen and for the realisation of his members. Whatever your choice is, rest assured you will never have to worry about food and shelters as long as you stay among us.

The Pious Order office will soon be built. Even if you don't plan to join the Church now, you are welcome to join the Pious Order, with its own merits and advantages. Until the construction of the office is done, there is a 20% discount on fees.

Contact me, the Bishop, or Callixtus, the Archdeacon, if you have any question or feel ready.

Man your prices are too cheap! (if that's all what it takes...)
These are yearly prices. I asked for feedback earler and got none. :/ I'm willing to reconsider, now that I have at least one feedback and from the most important person in the kingdom!
138  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto Kingdom - 1991 Retro Virtual World(City) on: March 07, 2015, 10:20:44 PM
San Pietro needs your support! The most magnificent of Church building, devoted to the Culture of Future Time and the end of Ancient times, is underfunded. So far, 420 million moneretoj were donated and three eminent citizens secured their eternal memory in stone.

Plans of Basilica di San Pietro

But there is more to give, especially after the sudden increase in price of material. Only one-sixth of the funding is covered. I beseech you, citizens of crypto-kingdom, to show your devotion to the realm

Additionally, effective immediately (and retroactively), 50% of any donation will count as a discount to the admittance in the Pious Order of Supplicants, the place to discuss and network among peers once the building is finished.
Also, until the construction of the Pious Order office, there is a 20% on admittance fees. This discount is cumulative with the donation discount (the donation discount applies after the 20% discount). As a reminder, here are the entrance fees:

Quote
Entrance fees for the PIOUS ORDER OF SUPPLICANTS

1. Apprentice          1 -    60,000     (mostly newcomers)
2. Companion      75,000 -   700,000     (mostly commoners)
3. Master        750,000 - 2,000,000     (mostly nobles)

Discount for 10 years purchase and lifetime purchase (non transferable to heirs)

full announcement - detailled prices

Why should I join?
  • Bonus for your heirs! We all come to pass, but our legacy remains. When your character dies (of old age or whatever), you next character will enjoy various bonuses, depending on your donations
  • The Church recruits mainly among the Pious Order
  • To gather among peer, network, be seen where it matters, socialising...
  • To help the Church with consistent donations instead of one-shot. Predictable prices are a plus
  • If you were already donating, this is basically free service

For the glory of God and of Crypto-Kingdom!

Update: since His Majesty gave feedback on the price, they are undergoing reevaluation

A) Decreasing the max. profit multiplier
Your (1) is indeed the one that was used to get the max. profit (Bankrage * 0.005, 0.5%).
One solution could be to reduce that value to 0.05%, with a low limit depending of the initial bankroll.
The low limit would be the initial bankroll * 0.5%, so we make sure that the max. profit can't go below that value.
So you would go for:

2.1 Change X as you see fit.
      Pros: simpler
Cons: maybe for mathematical reasons (Kelly criterion?) this X should not be changed - this is above my payrate

After reading your other proposal, I think like you that A is the best. Now, it can be A1 (what I called 2.1 and you called A) or A2 (what I called 2.2)

  2.2. Add a second multiplier, Y.
Pros: in case there is a reason for X being X, you can safely change another variable - this will also permit a finer control of the max profit
Cons: you end up with to multipliers (X and Y), which is inelegant if you have no reason to have the value of X being fixed

Any one else to elaborate on these proposals?

We cannot enable renting in V.4. So the new players, in order to get a house, must purchase one. The very cheapest construction, not including architecture, BI or landscaping, is about 200,000/sqm, making a 20 sqm house (enough to have a free 1 q lot in B.4) cost 4 million. If anyone cares to make such a development with individual modest homes in their own lots there, he can most probably sell them at a profit for 5-10 million, which is not too high a price for most newcomers. At present the cheapest such homes are on the market by HM, for 25 million. They are located in the bustling 2-W, with a higher land price.

All in all, the Kingdom offers options for the complete range of players, from a few million up to several billion (the Royal Chateau of Versailles, to be built in the coming age, will cost approx. 50 billion m and take up a whole borough of 9 chapelries, already bought from the Town for 9 billion). It is therefore worth 10,000 modest homes.
The Church is willing to offer housing for free to anyone willing to become a monk. In exchange for free housing, one will have to work for the Church, be it as a brewer, a teacher, a clerk, a soldier... according to his desires and abilities. Women are accepted too. The Church needs more manpower and becoming a monk means you will never have to worry for food or shelter. Every money or asset you would get by other means would still be yours.

And this solves the renting issue, since there is no renting.

Necessary housing will be soon be built. As usual, the Archdeacon takes care of the technicalities so if you are interested in donating or providing the necessary resources at a fair price, contact him.
